This Planet Fitness is great! It’s my “college gym” for when I’m in Gainesville at school. The employees are friendly and it’s always clean. Not too crowded. Small, yes, but never too crowded!

This is the smallest planet fitness I’ve ever been to. Such a shame since it’s in a fairly large city and has a huge college population with UF. Not enough machines especially when busy, and really no floor space to lay a mat down without being in the way. Kind of shocked at this when I moved here a couple months ago. Cancelling my membership because it’s not worth it.

The gym environment is very friendly. One of the best PF I have been to. You have a decent number of equipment for a full body workout. My only issue is that the gym closes early on Friday-Sunday.

I’ve been to many planet fitness across the country and this one has some of the best bathrooms/showers! Def recommend this location

Not sure why every give this gym branch so much hate. It is barely every crowded hence machines were never taken. It is exactly how I imagine a gym to be in small Gainesville.

I went on a one day pass since Gainesville doesnt have a LA Fitness. Not too bad overall for a one time visit. Very hot inside location.

For the amenities you cant beat the price!Wish they had a CrossFit area and a sauna though.

It’s planet fitness: the value-cost ratio is pretty good. You get decent equipment for about 10 bucks a month. I havent had an issue with billing or fees like many people *knocks on wood* but I haven’t had to cancel or sign up for anything else. They will be missing a few things if you’re seriously training but you’re not going to be here if you are anyway. Everyone’s friendly enough, it’s cleaned often and I’ve had an overall positive experience. This is a 3 star review because the hours are cripplingly inconvenient. Maybe I’m just mad because I pulled up to work out tonight and I didn’t know they close at 9 on Friday instead of 11. Weekend hours are worse- 7-7. I’m not asking for a 24 hr sleep is for the weak type gym, just a more consistent, realistic schedule. Not everyone works the same hours and not everyone can make it to the gym before night. This is one of the only Planet Fitties I’ve seen with such limited hours.

I just signed in today, I am very satisfied with the excellent friendly service provided by Rachel. The place is big enough, not crowded at all and have all you need to workout. They also keep the gym super clean and updated.

Spacious, clean and has all the cardio machines you need as well as free weights and just about every weight machine. Clean locker rooms and showers if you need them. I have not tried the spa area but there is one. Very happy with my decision to join.

It’s a planet fitness. Noting really bad to say but also nothing really spectacular. I wish they would bring back the tootsie rolls.

This one has everything that PF users have come to love, and this one is actually quite large and after several visits Ive never found it uncomfortably busy 😁

I appreciate Planet Fitness for offering an affordable gym membership for the common person. I feel very comfortable working out, and I enjoy the variety of machines available to me. My daughter often comes along with me, and we both find a workout plan that fits our needs. I also use the tanning beds, and there is always one available when I need it. I have experienced great customer service when issues arise. Overall, I feel that Planet Fitness is a great option that wont break the bank. : )

This is a great gym for an average of $10. It’s clean and the equipment is spaced out every other machine to properly workout distanced. They have multiple sanitization stations and everyone is mostly good about keeping their masks on and cleaning their equipment after they work out.

Edit: I finally got in touch with the manager who was professional and worked with me to cancel my membership in a way that was fair for both parties. Thank you. I previously reviewed in anger blaming this location for corporate policies and people refusing to follow. That is on me. Reading the review about them forcing someone to wear their mask put in perspective that these employees are going to be admonished for trying to get people to follow safety protocols while their health is actively at risk. To all the staff that I annoyed: I respect any distaste you have for me, Im really annoying. I genuinely apologize if I came off as rude. Even if I catch myself being a Karen it doesnt remove any negative impact I may have had on your day.Previous review for reference:They do not require masks when actively working out. During a pandemic. Walked up and left when i saw a group of people hanging out inside sans mask.

Management is discriminating and harassing me about my face covering. There are other white members in the gym who are not using a face mask. When I walked in the front door I asked the manager for the regular mask. She gave me a really hard time and first told me that they didnt have any. Then she gave me one and followed me to the bathroom to argue with me. I Had a cover over my face and neck and the manager still followed me on to the workout floor to argue with me some more. I feel like I need an attorney I should not be harassed because the female manager at the gym is having a bad day. I just transferred to this gym a day ago and never has issues at any other planet fitness gym before. Someone from the management team needs to reach out to me. I should not be humiliated in front of other people because of the color of my skin. The manager went back to the front and cancelled my membership. I took video clips of white members in the gym walking from the locker room to the front desk and out from machine to machine with no mask or covering, but I was discriminated and yelled at.

Great staff! Plenty of things to do. No obnoxious gym goers. Ten stars!

Nice place but ran out of paper towels to clean the equipment

I was very looking forward to returning to the gym after being charged for months during CoVid-19. I came in for the first time yesterday and asked if I could be dropped down to regular membership because it makes the most sense right now, and I was told that I had to pay another startup annual fee, which I mentioned I *JUST* paid for my blackcard 6 days ago. It didnt matter, Im out of luck. I weighed my options and decided if they could negotiate, then I would stay because I really liked Planet Fitness for the years Ive spent with them. I came back in and asked about cancellation today and it was a very no-questions service, which was very saddening because it made me feel like my membership didnt matter at all. I explained that my cancellation was due to a fee disagreement, and it was shrugged off. I dont know how long this location will be around with their level of customer service. Im out $80 for the year thanks to Planet Fitness and a once supportive customer is now a very disappointed customer. I will be using my second annual fee for another gym in the area.

Feel very unsafe as people walk around without a mask. I understand their policy allows guest to remove mask when actively exercising but it’s just wrong to see how people walk around the gym without mask.

Planet fitness claims to have a mask policy but they don’t enforce it at all. People are constantly moving around the gym maskless exposing others and the employees just walk right past them or stand at the desk and ignore them. The first time I brought it up to them they lied to my face and said they don’t always see it, but I had already witnessed all of them walking past maskless people without a single word to them. I asked if they do realize that if one of these people comes in with covid essentially everyone in there will get covid. The second time I brought it up to them two days later the employee told me they don’t always have time to “babysit” everyone and another employee told me I should just leave. Strange how a “health club” cares so little about public health.

This location is simply too small for the population surrounding it. Most Planet Fitness locations have more than 3 bench/squat racks in a city of this size. The locker rooms are poorly maintained. Its the same price as every other Planet fitness for half the benefits, and is only open for half as much time... Anytime is a much better deal if youre willing to drive a little further.

Cheap gym at 10 bucks a month (in addition to a yearly fee of about 60 bucks). Not a huge gym, but they have a variety of equipment.

Great place, super clean with lots of sanitation stuff. Very nice starting gym, staff are extremely friendly too.

I decided to brave the gym because my friend told me that masks were being taken seriously and people were stopped at the door if not wearing them. Once inside the only people wearing a mask was the employees, my friend, and I. It felt unsafe and as if no one cared. After debating on just leaving, friend offered comprimise of the 30 minute work out since that was the furthest away from everyone. But, we were not even able to finish that due to unmasked people coming to the section. I was very disappointed in my work out and the apparent apathy

I have been working out here for a little over a year and have been very pleased. $10 a month (plus a minimal yearly fee) is an amazing deal for what they offer. I am always amazed on how clean they keep the place. Surprising for what you pay. However, lately the mens locker room has been quite dirty. I even said something to the staff about it the other day. It was the worst I had seen it in all my time coming here. There was all female staff on at that time. Maybe they didnt have a male to attend to it that day but today I noticed the locker room in similar condition. Not as bad as it was last time but still could use some attention. There is a male staff member here today.

Clean. Friendly staff. Amazing price. Much happier here than at Gainesville Health and Fitness. Plus, they securely handle credit cards.

Recently opened after covid quarantine. Masks arent required but social distancing is accomplished by separating equipment. Staff and guests keep everything pretty clean. Theres a maximum 50% capacity of 124 but most of the day theres less than 20% of that.

My fiance was a member 2017 but only attend 3 days due to a moter accident now he is a gust on my membership in 2020 and they stop him from working out they say he of to pay for the full year before he can use the gym he was on 10 dollar a month why would you charges a person for a year and it was not a contract. Now I feel like. Cancel my membership because I think the is scamming and robbery to poor people

Good gym with friendly staff, clean atmosphere, and well maintained equipment. There are people of all fitness levels here and a trainer if you need help getting started. I just come to run and there are a ton of treadmills so Im never waiting. Overall I enjoy this gym and dont regret buying a membership. (Although with the yearly fee it is a bit more expensive than the 10/month advertised)

Pretty nice, a good amount of aerobics equipment and affordable. Would love if they added a rowing machine though. Staff have always been nice.

I just moved to this side of town and wanted to see if I could pay for a week or do a quick trial test to see if I liked it. I just wanted to try it and I was completely willing to pay something... However, this location wants $20 JUST FOR ONE SESSION. Thats more than their monthly membership fee. Seems excessive for a 1 hour workout.

Decent gym for the $10 monthly fee. Equipment is kept clean, personal training is available both for introducing you to the equipment as well as helping you devise a workout program that is tailored to your fitness goals.Ladies locker room is clean and smells pleasant, I cant vouch for the mens locker room.

Many machines to us. Never over full. Well keep as far a clean. Front desk people attentive. Owner seems to run threw alot of personal. Hard to get to know staff with such high turn over.

No nonsense gym. Offer $10/month membership with a $40 annual fee membership. No contract. Its affordable enough for anyone, thereby removing one excuse. Only complaint is that they have only one toilet in the mens bathroom. There is enough room there for 3 bathrooms if you remove the urinal.

My MiYClubOnline says my membership is canceled but im still being billedit also says I visited their gym in Venice FL in June when Ive never ever been to Venice Floridathe staffer on the phone was a patronizing a s s hole who just said um-hm and said i had to come in during a peaking pandemic to cancel(?) when im out of state and immunocompromised

Basic gym is around $10/mt. and has various types of exercise equipment to suit whatever fitness level that you are at. At around $20 a month, black card members have access to tanning, and my personal favorite, hydromassage. The staff is made up of mostly young college students, so sometimes youll catch them texting or flirting at the front desk. Your average gym, nothing special.

This place is the perfect gym. It has all the tools needed to improve your health at a very very reasonable price. I have belonged to many over-priced gyms with weightlifters grunting and hogging stations and that does not happen here. The staff is fantastic and extra props to Kyle the Assist Manager. Kyle goes out of his way to help and make you feel welcome.

Kyle one of the mangers here is awesome! Very polite and friendly every time I walk in and out the door! He helped me out with a situation I was having for a while now with my ex girlfriend on my account and he took care of it and relieved a lot of stress off my shoulders. He is always willing to go above and beyond to help you! Definitely a good guy. Place is clean staff is amazing! Love my gym!!

I did my homework before I decide to look over this fitness gym. . . Exercise was not what I was looking for.... People ; Not just a guy hangout... I noticed a very knowledgeable staff, clean facility, clean locker room, double equipment just in case its busy found out there is room for a work out.... Access to trainers by appointment at different times of the day. See for yourself and request online for a free tour and test the equipment . No pressure at all !!! Enjoy

For fifty years Ive belonged to gyms across the world. Its all about value. Planet Fitness is clean, great equipment, terrific location. The staff is conscientious, courteous, and friendly.The manager DeAnna is obviously a leader. No nonsense to give you a great experience. The locker rooms are very clean and the equipment is all in pretty new condition. As someone who goes there to lift, I felt like they could use some heavier free weights (I think the heaviest dumbbells and fixed weight barbells were 60 lbs.) but their machines are pretty good.

I was a member for about a month or so. The only reason I dont go here anymore is because I moved to Orlando and plan to move my membership here. I didnt interact with the staff much but they were always nice. I always saw someone cleaning something. I stayed one night until 10:59 and they didnt rush me out. My cousin came with me a couple times and did all her weighted workouts without a problem. I think she even did super sets. The bathrooms were clean, the members pretty much always wiped their machines down.They could use more space. To stretch out you have to do it against a wall, a couple feet from any machine. The circuit area isnt used as its meant to and the staff doesnt monitor it, but then again I dont know that Ive seen anyone in there thats actually doing a circuit. I look forward to my experience here in Orlando.

First thing I noticed was that its not open 24 hours. The one in Denver is 24 hours. Hell, even the one in Pueblo is 24 hours. This kind of sucks for me because one of the reasons I joined PF when I lived in Denver was the fact that they were open 24 hours. I have Restless Leg Syndrome and, occasionally, I need to get up and exercise my legs in the middle of the night.Also, they have massage chairs, not the really cool massage tables. Denver has tables. Even Pueblo.Other than that, its your standard Planet Fitness. Its happy and purple. I dont think I would have chosen PF if I had lived in Gainesville. But its where I have my membership and its fairly close to the house, so I dont see any reason to go through the process of quitting the gym.

This Planet Fitness is a joke. So much for “No Gym-timidation” and following the rules. They willing allow girls to walk around and work out in just their sport bras. What happened to the PF rule of wearing clothing/ no sports bras?

Someone fraudulently used my card to start a membership. They were stupid enough to use my name and never stepped foot in the gym (I don’t know if they ever tried and were denied or what happened). Even though I didn’t set up the account, I didn’t sign a contract and they never verified my ID, they are telling me that I still have to “buy out” the contract and pay the balance on the account, that NO ONE HAS EVER USED.Stay far far far far away from this place.

When I asked for a refund (or have my monthly fee to be prorated due to the gym being closed) they said they wont do that because they have to abide by the agreement. Apparently common sense is not included in the agreement - so be careful when youre singing up. How can a business be charging you for something you cant even use for at least 3 weeks? Is that respectful to its customers? No business ethics at all. No email notice about the renovations either. Absolutely unprofessional!

..your on display to everyone if your lifting weights up front. WARM WATER FOUNTAIN. Nothing like sweating it up to take a big gulp of piss warm water from the fountains. I complained to management they said well not all the time....ok 3/4 days I was here always during pm rush hour 5-7pm. If auto response says please inform management you know they dont give a sh*t.

Parker is not only beautiful ! But so friendly and energetic. Im not good at my smartphone, so she did it for me so I could get a free day pass and because of her I want to get healthier and get my life back together. Thanks Parker you are AWESOME !

Based on what you pay for, I feel that the equipment is adequate. My biggest complaints are 1. the staff spend the majority of their time chatting behind the counter. They could at least be cleaning equipment. My wife asked how to use the stationary bike, and the kid who went with her did not know how to use it either and didnt bother to find someone who did. EVERY employee should know how to work every piece of equipment. 2. Lack of enforcement of the cell phone policy. Signs say restrict use to lobby. Every time I go, I am not able to use 2-3 machines because somebody is just sitting on it playing with their phone for an extended period of time.

Ive both worked here during college, and work out here now that Im temporarily back in Florida, and I can tell you from both sides this is a fine gym, well taken care of, and possessing of plenty of equipment to get you started. Ive made significant progress and gains lifting here, and all of the staff are always friendly and helpful to the best of their ability. So I doubt very highly that much if any of the negative feedback is constructive or accurate.

Planet Fitness is clean and for the price its good. The location is convenient if you live on the North West side of town. I dont find the staff to be overly friendly or helpful but for $10 you really cant complain.

There was absolutely no notice that they were closing for renovations. Went to work out today and was told snarkily, If you read your contract it says you still have to pay while were temporarily closed for renovations. Since when can a business close down for remodeling and still charge you for their service while theyre closed? Is that even legal?

Love this place. Crew is generally welcoming & friendly. Lots of cardio machines.

Very satisfied with Planet Fitness overall and this is one of the better locations in the franchise. The service is friendly and excellent. They stay on top of cleanliness both on the gym floor and locker rooms without getting in the way. Also they have the recliner style hydro massage bed that I prefer rather than the flat kind.

My wife and I travel and joined Planet Fitness due to them being everywhere. Most of the clubs are well kept and the prices are very reasonable. This club was the first we have been in that looks worn out. May be time foe some equipment updates.

Super friendly staff. Always greeted entering and goodbye leaving. Equipment works well and gym is clean! Locker room is clean. Being able to plug in headset and watch multiple channels makes is a plus. At $10 a month, best gym value in Gainesville.

Great service, comfortable settings just wish they had a pool. Prefer it to be 24 hr. And to bring back the scale. So ridiculous they take a scale away at a gym because thats considered to be judgement. How else are you able to see results .

Glad I am changing gyms. I was working out at planet fitness and random teenagers are pointing and laughing at me as I walk by. Really glad I’m moving to Youfit instead because they don’t let children in to the gym. I know I’m an adult but it’s still very uncomfortable being watched and laughed when I’m just minding my own business.

If youre fat and out of shape or old this is a great place for you to go and hang out naked in the locker room for an hour. If you want to work out and actually have plenty of equipment to do so on and put in the effort required and push yourself where you might make a little bit of noise this is not the place for you here theres plenty of other gyms with rock more free weights and equipment. I only go here because its dirt cheap

Doors are locked 24/7, nobody answers the phone, no voicemail, no customer service email address on the website. grrreat.

Upon entering this establishment, I noticed that the building was rather large, but with very low space for anything. It was divided up into a few sections, random machines placed in the most random places in no practical order at all. The place was huge, with treadmills taking the most space, probably more than half the space there. With all that there is this gym is far from what you call planet fitness lacking proper equipment to accommodate all the members. The treadmill/bench machine ratio is absurd. There are treadmills taking up most of the space in the gym, and you only have one, ONE bench press. This place is a joke, and the members are just as ridiculous. Many people going machine to machine not even counting sets or just maxing out and jumping to the next available one leaving a trail of sweat behind. I witnessed an elderly man lacking significant knowledge of how to do a lat pulldown, and he performed the exercise looking like he was a fish suffering a stroke on dry land. I think my point here is clear. If you only want to use a treadmill for $10 a month this is the place for you. If you want to get fit, look better and actually want to make an effort, then dont waste your time here.

The staff at planet fitness has gone above and beyond for myself and my service dog Freedom .The gym is clean and I love the Accomdations.I have never had an issue bringing my service dog Freedom.The staff is always ready to answer questions .The gym is a great value for the money and it’s nice seeing individuals of all ages as well as fitness levels .

My friend has a recently diagnosed heart problem and can no longer workout due to her condition. I went with her to Planet Fitness while she asked to cancel her membership. The front desk told us they cannot cancel her membership and she would have to continue to pay for her monthly subscription for 90 days - and then at the end of 90 days pay a $58 buy out. They refused to cancel her membership despite a very real and very serious medical condition. She called customer service - they manually cancelled her membership with NO charge. Disappointed in the Gainesville establishment. Teach your workers business ethics & respect.

Best gym

I was told in June there was a $50 buy out to end a contract, which was fine. It’s actually $62.Additionally I have been leaving messages with the incompetent staff that the manager never received to go ahead and use the card on file to complete the cancellation. Two billing cycles have gone by totaling $44. So now I’m out $106 instead of the quoted $50. I got a zombie like apology from the girl up front (reddish hair and. “trainer”)and she said she spoke with the manager in the back and said there was nothing they can do. Absolute HORRIBLE customer service!

Great place to workout. Do yourself a favor... Go to the website, request a day pass, see for yourself. Ask an employee give you a tour, teach you how to use the machines etc. Its great.

Worse experience ever. Not only do they have terrible customer service but their machines are half broken. I tore my rotator cuff one of their flat benches. Wasnt even going heavy but the bench wobbled a bunch. When I was done with my workout. I approached them about it and they said their benches were tested. ALL their benches were wobbling. Im pretty sure theyre not suppose to. And I wont even get into their billing... wow. Ive never left a review for anything. But this was over the top horrible.

The staff is rude, the manager is nonexsistent and even after after you have signed forms to cancel acct the continue to debit your account. I wouldnt go here if this were the only gym in town.

Good variety of equipment, not too crowded at certain times, clean, and friendly staff. Low monthly fee for all you get, well worth the money. Members are friendly and encouraging as well.

Its somewhat clean (mostly clean everywhere except for a lot of dust behind the treadmills). The staff is mixed: some are very easy/welcoming, friendly, and helpful, while two or three of the day shift managers were very rude, confrontational, and make you not want to be there at all. The price is good, but the service definitely needs attention. Ive been to other PF gyms that are much more comfortable and relaxed, and there are other gyms in town that dont have this tightly-wound, gestapo type of feel.

You get what you pay for: a very clean mid-sized gym with only about a handful of really serious lifters, and all the staff and customers are cordial.My only qualms are there isnt a stand alone flat bench and they only have 3 smith machines that you will end up waiting 10-20 minutes for because people tend to hang out on them.
