Amazing gym! They have several classes a day you can join. Perfect for any schedule you may have. Also they have you record your progress in a booklet which keeps you engaged in the program. 3 months in and I’ve made a lot of progress. Also I have met some amazing people there. Ron’s da man!!

I moved to Gainesville for the summer and chose Ballatore to focus on my strength training. Man... what an awesome atmosphere for weight lifting. I had the privilege of working with two different personal trainers (Noah and Josh), both of which were amazing instructors who taught me plenty about how to gain strength in a healthy way. They knew just the right amount to push me and never once worked me beyond my capabilities. Ron, the owner, is a great dude who clearly cares about his clients and wants the best for everyone who steps foot in the gym. Even the people in the group classes give each other constant support. If you are ever in the Gainesville area and looking for a place to train, this is it. I truly believe they helped me change my life for the better. Thank you guys, best of luck!

Ive never been to a gym before, so it seemed a daunting task to even step inside of one. However, as soon as I stepped into Ballatore, all the gym trainers and people who come here have been nothing but friendly.I did personal training for 2 months and then moved onto group sessions with the monthly membership once I got my basics down. Even with the group classes (which are fairly small) the trainers (usually ron and josh) give you thorough criticism or pointers for improvement and ones never in need of more attention.If youre are beginner you cant ask for a better environment or a more professional gym and staff. Other guys here look like theyve been at it for awhile, so Im sure its a great place for more advanced people as well.Plus, its Hella affordable.

I have been here since 09/20. I love the atmosphere here, very friendly non intimidating and extremely supportive. Initial focus for me was on form and then slowly increasing the resistance . And I am continuing to see results week after week . I still can’t believe how much progress I’ve made in only a few months. Excellent instructors. I love this gym !

I was a newbie to strength training when I first started working out at Ballatore Training. To be completely honest, I was a bit skeptical about the whole process. However, after a few weeks, I have been able to notice distinct physical changes in my body and my strength has increased enormously. All the trainers are very knowledgeable and push you to do your best. I’m graduating this month and am sad because I don’t want to leave Ballatore Training:( I wish I started working out here years ago!

I moved to Gainesville about 3 months ago looking for a place I could learn how to use weights and strength training. Im definitely a beginner at strength training and I am so impressed with the coaching so far. Ron really makes sure that your technique is good before increasing weight. He is very educated in the mechanics of the human body and teaches the proper form effectively to prevent injuries. Ive feel like Ive made a lot of gains in the past few months! The gym has a wonderful family atmosphere which was perfect for me especially moving into a new area. I cant wait to see how I will progress in the future!

Awesome gym!! I started about 3 months ago and was a newbie to weight training. Ron is awesome and always explains what you are doing and why it needs to be done that way. The group classes are big enough to not feel self conscious but small enough to be personal and stay safe. The environment is great and fellow gym members are there to encourage you to push that last little bit. Bonus points: Ron has a great taste in music which makes the gym so much fun, especially on a Friday evenings since you cant go out dancing anymore.

I have been training in the gym since last September, attending both group classes with Ron, Kelly and Josh, and personal training with Ron. The classes have a friendly and supportive atmosphere. Ron is always updating different training exercises so that we can learn more in each program. The training is aimed mainly at weight training, at the end of each program there will be a test to measure our new maximum value. I have gained great progress since last year.The gym is also providing more time periods to fit everyones schedule. The membership price matches the times we can train here every week, and indeed it is pretty cheap even compared to my poor teaching assistant salary.

I love this gym! I’ve tried a couple private gyms and this is the best so far. I really appreciate how Ron Ballatore is very meticulous and careful regarding my form with each exercise. Especially, while recovering from a shoulder injury! I was hesitant at first but he’s very careful and works with the weight and what I was able to handle. No injuries and only getting stronger !I work recommend 10/10

I started at Ballatore with 0 experience training in a gym. I chose Ballatore because I was intimidated by other training programs that use a lot of complex, advanced, and flashy movements. I really cant say enough great things about this gym. Ron is as good as it gets as a trainer and cultivates an inclusive environment for all members regardless of skill level. You just cant help but improve your strength here.

I always have trouble working out in gyms and on my own. Im always thinking of all the ways I could possible hurt myself if not paying attention to form, but have trouble paying attention and lifting, haha. I met Ron from Ballatore and started one on one personal training with him, and met the rest of his crew and Ive never felt so taken care of. There was always a plan for me, there was always guidance and support, during workouts I would get keen observation to help find the healthy and natural stances for lifting so Im no over straining anything else and maximizing my lifts. I built muscle, energy, confidence and always looked forward to my sessions save for pull ups day, haha. Highly recommend Ballatore for changing your workout and honestly changing your life.

Having never trained before, Ron and Josh made me feel at home and comfortable in a totally new environment. The space is just the right size, the atmosphere is friendly and fun and you really feel like part of the family right away. I have been doing personal training with Ron Ballatore for over 5 years and I cant recommend Ron and his crew highly enough! Rons attention to form and body mechanics is outstanding and has made it possible for me to achieve levels of fitness and confidence that I never thought possible in my middle-aged body. Ron is also a calm and encouraging presence, helping me get through the sometimes-difficult psychological aspects of training, helping me to realize that I can do just about anything as long as I BELIEVE. And finally, when things hurt, Ron is responsive and helpful in finding better and different ways to get beyond the limitations. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

Before Ballatore Training, I was too scared to lift heavy weights because I did not know the right technique. The trainers at Ballatore - Ron, Kelly, Josh - really helped me gain confidence and progress in a way I never thought I would. I feel stronger and better than ever. :) The trainers are all extremely knowledgeable in exercise science, and provide a lot of individual attention in the group fitness classes. Their workout programs are geared toward strength and conditioning and they change periodically - so there is no getting bored. Theyre happy to work with you if youre dealing with any kind of pre-existing physical issues, or have changes in your life that may affect your physical abilities. In all my gym experience, Ballatore is by far my favorite! Aside from being an awesome gym, Ballatore is also an awesome community of people that I am really grateful to be a part of.

I have been with Ron for years. I followed him from another gym, because I believe in him and trust him as a coach. He has helped me learn to move my body properly while getting strong. I now take the group classes and also train with Josh and Kelly who are awesome trainers. Its like a family at Ballatore Training. They all provide excellent support and structure without gimmicks or b.s. Theres functionality to the fitness and programs, this transfers to daily life. The classes are great for all levels of experience. If you want to take care of your body, get strong, move better, feel better, and have fun- check them out!

Ballatore Training is hands-down the top training center in Gainesville.The training programs are challenging and meant to push you to improve, but also accessible to people of all experience levels. The group classes are also small enough to allow plenty of one-on-one instruction - giving it a true personal training feel. This individualized attention has been key for me because I joined the gym with flexibility issues that impacted my technique. Ron, Kelly, and Josh have all worked closely with me over the last 8 months - constantly checking in on my form and making sure I wasnt compromising my back or shoulders while lifting. As a result, I have seen consistent gains in my flexibility and strength - even reaching my PR in several lifts (I have been lifting for over 25 years). This is a great gym with even better people running it - I highly recommend checking it out!

I have been training with Ron, Josh, and Kelly for over 3 years now. Since I began consistently attending small group classes at Ballatore Training, I have seen significant improvements in strength and body composition in alignment with my goals. The emphasis at Ballatores is to increase strength through proven methods while constantly striving to perfect form. I always feel like I am learning something new and trust the trainers completely. This gym is awesome. As others mentioned it is more like joining a community than a gym. Everyone is supportive and there is no fear of injury as they coach you through everything. I have become more motivated about going to the gym and enjoy my workouts much more compared to the standard gym I attended before. I was initially hesitant about joining due to it being a little higher priced than a standard gym but after my first week at Ballatore I realized it is totally worth every penny!

If youre interested in strength training, this gym is the best! I have been powerlifting consistently for 5 years now and just a few months ago I made it to the 1,000lb club (deadlift + squat + benchpress = 1,000lb). I have never had formal training but I thought I had great form on my lifts. Within 1 week of attending Ballatore, Ron has already corrected some mistakes in my squat and deadlift forms. I am looking forward to hitting new maxes on all my lifts in the next couple of months at Ballatore!

Everyone at this gym, from the trainers to the trainees, is very welcoming and supportive. After only one month of attendance I felt not only physically stronger, but also mentally stronger and more confident in myself and my abilities. The trainers Ron, Kelly, and Josh genuinely want to see all the members progress as athletes and individuals. I was heartbroken when I suffered an unrelated injury that prevented me from attending, but Im still involved with the Ballatore family I formed in my 5 months there.

I was a collegiate swimmer at the University of Florida, Go Gators! After I was done swimming in 2012, it was really hard for me to get motivated to workout. For the past 6 years, I have been very inconsistent with exercising. After my brother, Ron Ballatore opened up Ballatore Training in January of 2018, I started working out consistently with the group training classes. I average 6 days a week. I can tell you that I am stronger than I have ever been, I feel great, and I am having fun! This is a testament to the atmosphere Ron, Josh and Kelly have created at Ballatore Training. The hardest part is starting. Whether you do the group classes or personal training, you will not want to stop. It really is a great group of people. They also offer swimming and or stadium workouts on Sunday.

The atmosphere is training focused. You certainly get the feel from all the trainers they are focused on your goals and health. I have been coming to Ballatore Training for a couple of months now. I consider myself a beginner as far as weightlifting, and from the beginning Ive felt confident that Ron, Josh, and Kelly really know what theyre doing. They prioritize correct form before they let you start lifting any heavy weights, so Im never worried about hurting myself or doing more advanced exercises without proper instruction. Theyre very patient and encouraging and Im looking forward to training with them for a while.

Easily the best-run small workout group class Ive ever attended. The trainers, Ron, Josh, and Kelly, are very knowledgeable and they make sure to take the necessary time to help you with your form. More than they, they help make the workout community that regularly attends the gym feel more like a family than just a group that lifts weights at the same time. One of the most underrated aspects is how the trainers use the same programming as the other gym attendees; and they only offer unlimited training, which encourages you to get the most out of the time in the gym without feeling the need to budget a certain number of sessions each month. Incentivizing you to come as much as possible to get the best results you can is the gyms only goal. They really do practice what they preach and they give honest feedback and recommendations that dont feel salesy at all. Cant recommend this place enough.

Ballatore Training uses clear and proven methods to get people stronger and feeling good. I am a tall guy and have had severe back pain, and two knee surgeries, and I have had pain from weight lifting programs at many times in my life. The instruction at BT has helped me become the strongest and heathiest I have ever been. As a previous NCAA Div 1 athlete at UF I have had elite trainers who worked with some of the best athletes in the world, and its clear that the trainers focus on consistency and form at BT is a great formula for meeting strength/physical goals. Ballatore training has an atmosphere where a person squatting 315+ pounds is working next to someone squatting 45lbs, and both are getting stronger and pushing themselves. If you are looking for a place to get you functionally strong and moving right, BT is it.

Ive worked with about 8 trainers at 4 gyms in Gainesville over the past 5 years, for personal training, crossfit, and other group classes, and Ron is hands-down the most knowledgeable trainer Ive ever had. I am a big fan of this gym and the great trainers that work there. I have been going for years (really consistently for the past year) and have really come to appreciate the passion and skill that Ron, Josh, and Kelly bring to the gym. There is no hype, no crossfit nonsense, and no protein-shaker-bottle bros slamming weights on the ground. The trainers arent just teaching something they just watched on Youtube, they are applying theory, physics, physiology based on extensive training and education. They apply theory and philosophy to a field that is dominated by misinformation and oneupmanship and the results are proof that they know what they are doing. The programs are well thought out and effective. Classes and personal training are affordable, flexible, and personalized to any skill level. If you want to train with some of the best instructors in town in a safe, non-judgmental environment, this is the place to go. On top of all that, you will meet a bunch of hilarious characters who make the hour-long (max) workouts a lot of fun. Your health is worth the cost. Sign up and keep going and you will absolutely see results. The progress I have made over the past year is really remarkable and I owe it to Ron and the rest of the team. If you bring discipline, they will take care of the rest.

I have been working out with Ron Ballatore as a personal trainer one hour per week for exactly one year since my previous fitness center closed. In that time, I have seen significant improvement in strength and flexibility that I didn’t’ think was possible at age 59. Ron is an outstanding trainer who understands that different clients have different needs, so he tailors the exercise regime for each person specifically, tracks your progress toward goals over time, and takes a balanced approach to training the entire body. We usually do a basic set of exercises for the main muscle groups, such as back squat, deadlift, bench press, overhead press, pullups, and rows, then do other things each time for variety to keep it interesting. The clean, simple gym, located on south Main street in Gainesville, is equipped with numerous free weights, barbells, kettlebells, overhead bars, mats, elastic bands, glute-ham developer, rowing machines and has an outdoor space for crossfit training. Ron and his two co-trainers, Kelly and Josh, offer physical training to individuals, small groups, and regularly scheduled classes, and they also organize offsite sessions for swimming or stadium steps on weekends as a bonus to their members. Ron is a stickler for proper form in all exercises as the basis of effective and safe training, and he is obsessive about gaining mobility in the shoulders as a foundation for upper body strength and posture. He always clearly explains and demonstrates each exercise to the client, watches closely and provides continuous commentary on your performance. As a former champion UF swimmer and supremely well trained athlete himself, Ron is a model of fitness and health to his clients. Finally, Ron is a very genial fellow who makes it a pleasure to work out. I like having the individual attention and accountability of a personal trainer focused just on me. If you have never worked with a personal trainer, try it and see how Ron can help take you to the next level of fitness!
