You can go there at whatever level of fitness (or lack of). Basic and premium packages. Even basic is good. Basic includes locker and showers, they have arobic and free weights, and treadmill/bikes, with a healthy selection of all. Ive never had to wait for anything. They even have a sauna, sorry no free swim pool. Staff is always friendly, couple call me by first name, not because Im independently wealthy, just because they are friendly and I say hello back. ( Simple courtesies go a long way in this world.) If you have questions about equipment or routine staff is always available. Trust me I know from repeated experience. Dont hate on me, I did say lack of fitness. LOL
Baileys is an amazing gym. Great employees always willing to help and give advice. Theres a wide variety of equipment to choose from ranging from cables to free weights even boxing bags and TRX bands. The workout area and the locker rooms are always kept clean. Theres also a sauna in the locker room which is fantastic considering the price point. Highly recommend checking the gym out and joining.
Ok so basically the bare bells are never replaced and bent, the equipment here always breaks, and the only star is from the fact that everyone is nice to each other. Expect ignorance since it’s one of the cheaper priced places. The other issue is that the gyms ac goes out all the time in summer, and the water fountains break a lot. Jacksonville has much nicer Baileys, so I don’t know why they don’t invest in the Gainesville one... it’s a shame since they compete against GHFC.
I was a member for 2 years.Staff is excellent. They keep this place clean and are very friendly. That being said 2 stars is my rating for this place. If the staff wasnt as excellent as they are Id of given this gym 1 star.Heres why:Had an incident with another member. To which it got to the point of hostility. Over re racking weights, that werent even mine.I told the manager, Warren, the next day about it. After taking the evening to consider if I feel comfortable going back the gym, I decided that its best I part ways with this gym. Instead of just canceling my membership he told me I could either put a hold on my account until Im ready to come back(meaning no gym visits - pointless) or I could pay off the rest of my membership and then cancel.I paid off my membership and went to a newer competitor. The equipment here is also out dated and is constantly broken. There is also only 1 true squat rack in this gym. Not compound lift friendly.I tolerated it, but wouldnt recommend anyone to workout here. There are plenty of other gyms in Gainesville for better prices and newer equipment.
Avoid this place. The positive reviews are from people who seem to have only been there for a short time... As a long timer, Ill tell you this...The manager is a charmer, but will lie to your face. Equipment is broken for MONTHS or replaced with used equipment from other gyms (and sometimes less functional). I dont even know how, after a month of of the lockdowns, equipment was still broken. There are no incremental weights on many of the machines (so if you need to jump up by 15 lbs in some cases).Importantly: They have draconian and expensive cancellation policies even after youve outlived your contract. I cant count the times Ive been hurt because equipment I needed for exercise prescription wasnt available. You REALLY dont want to join this gym.
Never told that two year contract renews without ones knowledge. Been getting charged for over a year without even using their services. Now when I want to cancel the membership, I have to be there present and I am not from Gainesville. Seems like a never ending cycle. I probably wont get my money back.
24hrs, good pricing, staff is very nice, bathrooms are kept clean and they have my favorite belt squat machine. Cant go wrong there.
Baileys has been by far my favorite gym to go to! Ive been going here for 3+ years now and have only had good experiences. This gym is the perfect size; there are other smaller and bigger gyms in Gainesville, but this has just about everything anyone would need. The athletic room gives this gym the next step up for me. The staff is amazing they are always greeting you when you come in, especially Warren, and are constantly cleaning, sanitizing, and organizing the gym. I highly recommend anyone that is looking for a quality gym to take the free week here and try it out.
Really good gym and its 24hrs
Ive been to a lot of Baileys locations. This is definitely the cleanest one. Over the top costumer service. The manager remembered my name and was genuinely interested in hearing about my experience. 5 stars all day long.
First impression is great! Helpful staff, 24hrs, not crowded, lots of equipment - all of which is in great shape, and the whole place is clean.
This is the best gym in all of Gainesville FL right now. If you are serious about making real, substantial progress Baileys is the place to go! The membership options are competitively priced, and their store carries a variety of supplements and gym supplies with great sales. The employees are friendly and are constantly working hard to provide an experience that is magnitudes above other local gyms.
Old school gym. Has everything you would ever need. I love it.
Ive been coming to this gym for the past 2 years and have never had any issue with the gym itself. If you are person that enjoys squat racks, bench presses and free weights, then this gym is perfect for you. Its a steal at around $20 per month too. The real gem is the manager, Warren. I guarantee you wont meet a nicer guy.If youre interested, theyll let you try the gym out for 7 days free which is a great way to find out if its the right gym for you.
I wish we didnt have to wear mask 😭😅 great place tho beautiful babes everywhere clean equipment too
Not crowded at evening times when I prefer to exercise. Staff has been very hospitable. No intimidation is felt at all from anyone. Ideal to go at your own pace. Memberships are reasonable and flexible. Equipment is in top conditions.
Had a good work
What they don’t tell you when you sign up is that after your contract is done, you will automatically be signed up for a monthly subscription and to cancel that, you still will be billed another month. Customer service over the phone is atrocious.
I did not sign a contract and thought the price was very reasonable for what you get. It was clean and they have nice lockers and sauna. The weights were put back where they belong for the most part. I really enjoy going here.
Extremely unprofessional. Signed up online for the guest pass. Called ahead to confirm, was told I could arrive anytime during staffed hours before 8, and they would be able to check me in to workout, gym is 24/7. Rushed over from work, arrived at 7:58 and some change. Door was already locked. The staff at the front desk tried to pretend they didn’t see me knocking at the door. After like a minute or two, they finally come over and unlock the door. The guy goes hey we’re closed. I said I know you saw me standing here before you were closed. He reluctantly goes okay come on in. I show him my free 7 day pass. He then goes you have to be with a member. It doesn’t say this anywhere on the pass nor was I told this when I called ahead. What kind of free pass requires me to be with a member. If I’m new to Gainesville how am I suppose to just know a member of this gym in order to use my free pass. Horrible place. Doubt they’ll stay in business long when crunch opens up operating like this.
Great gym!
After my two and a half years of living in Gainesville I have made many friends at this gym. The people that come here are committed and the environment is warm and welcoming. Warren is the gym manager and keeps the standards high and the staff couldn’t be friendlier. I love this gym and made great memories during my short stay in this small city.
Great facility and staff, the cleanest and most equipped gym youll find in town!
My husband and I signed up for this gym about 1.5yrs ago..Kinda a slimey contract. Make sure you take it home and review it before signing. Most gyms now don’t do the contract thing...infact- I cant think of any other gym who still does it the way Bailey’s does except Anytime Fitness..I signed up mainly for the classes. The classes were very very bad. For some reason Gainesville has a shortage of personal trainers. From my experiences Gainesvillle, all gyms have issues finding personal trainers for their classes. I went to a total of 6 classes at Baileys and the classes were so unorganized and thoughtless I couldn’t go back anymore. Even number 5 & 6 were a struggle for me but I really believe in giving them a fair chance. The trainers would show up 5mins before class, not have music picked out or ready, not bother to ask names or goals and it was VERY VERY VERY CLEAR they had absolutely ZERO idea on what the group would do next. Sometimes the name of the class would NOT MATCH what we were doing in class at all... idek if that trainer knew what he was teaching or just came to work clueless lol. In one class, rather than doing stations they just had one person do the activity at a time and the rest of us waited in line like in gym class- lol. It was awful. I only experienced 2 trainers (maybe 3?) bc honestly that’s all they had.THEN- once ppl stopped showing up to their AWFUL classes they started doing this ONLINE ONLY classes (Before COVID). This was even worse (actually no it wasn’t but it was annoying) bc I paid a membership for in person classes. If I wanted online classes then I’d pay MUCH LESS and YouTube it or something. They first make you sign a ridiculous contract and then don’t hold up on their end..We also paid to have the room on the top floor. However, the lights sometimes wouldn’t work and a lot of times the tv would be set on an input I couldn’t figure out. While Baileys is open 24/7– they’re not staffed 24/7... on two occasions when I wanted to work out with one of the online trainers- the tv wouldn’t work and the “front desk” person was like “idk lady, I just clean things”.This is also a no frills gym. Ppl r there to work out not like a crunch or planet fitness. Ppl here r serious about muscle gain and are ripped. My husband is a gym guy and he liked Baileys every now and then but bc it was a serious place- it was always packed and was had to wait A LOT or share a machine. This is also due to the machines being broken a lot..This is at 11am on a Tuesday he’s waiting to squat. I think this is mostly bc of the students not having regular schedules but then He went around 5pm once and literally walked out bc it was soooo crowded. Once summer hits it clears out a little but 5-6 is crowded.
Very large gym with varying equipment both for beginners and experts. The staff is very accommodating and their nutrition section is very convenient for post workout! If I were a Gainesville resident, this would be my gym of choice!
Price is good....auto deduct about $21/month for 24/7 access. Good variety of equipment. Unfortunately, equipment is frequently broken, out of service, or run down. Equipment gets fixed......eventually....there is one water fountain downstairs and two upstairs. The one downstairs has been out of order for about 3 weeks now. :/
Been going to this gym for years and the staff has always been extremely friendly and helpful. They’re always happy to see you and treat you like family. There’s also a wide variety of machines and supplements/products to choose from, and now there’s even a great smoothie bar! Finally, the membership fees are all reasonably priced. You’ll have a hard time finding another gym like this one. Would recommend to anyone joining the Gainesville community
I love this gym. The facility is newly remodeled and the staff is amazing. It is clean and well kept. The 24 hour access is fantastic and I love the fact that I can use the gyms in Jacksonville when Im there visiting family. The new Sports Training Room is like nothing I have ever seen before. It looks like an NFL training center. I would highly recommend this gym to anyone thinking of joining.
Great
Only giving them five stars so as many people as possible can see this post. I definitely wouldnt give this place even half a star. Do yourselves a favor and dont throw your money away on this place. They trick you to get as much money from you as they can. They are nothing but a bunch of crooks. When I went to sign up for a membership I specifically asked, more than once, for a one year membership. When I went back the following year to pay what I thought was my last month, they told me I had a 2 year membership. The guy that helped me signed me up for a 2 year after I made it clear that I wanted only one year. Then, we call them to ask about my husbands membership that was for 2 years; they tell us we have to go in person to sign some paper that says the membership is over. What? When we go to do such, the man behind the counter tells us it isnt necessary, that once a contract has reached the final, agreed upon date, it ceases. Were we idiots to believe them. A month after my husbands membership is up, they take more money from his bank, telling us once again that there is a paper we need to sign. Only now, its a two month agreement. They intend to take out money from my husbands account for another month even though he signed the paper. Dont let their cold A/C and fancy equipment fool you. These people are con men and they could care less about you.
Demand all the agreements in written form! Not only membership agreement!I was basically scammed when I came to the office last September to cancel my membership due to relocation. A Rep verified my identity and told me that it was canceled and I was good to go. I expected a $50 cancellation fee but never received any notification and I was too busy with moving to follow up.In fact, my membership wasn’t canceled. I found out that it was still active when I was charged for another year... I called the office and was told that they are not aware of any changes to my account. How is that possible? Is it a new way to keep charging customers and just see who claims the money back?My bank got my money back but Bailey’s is now claiming the payment + fees.Just stay away from this place.. Or if you decide to sign up - make sure you have everything in written! The mistake that I made was that I didn’t ask for any paperwork when I came there to cancel.
This gym sold my phone number to others. Do not ask me why I know it.
One of the worst cancellation policies I’ve ever experienced. DO NOT SIGN-UP HERE unless you plan to stick with the gym permanently. My wife do ALL the steps necessary to cancel her membership when she moved out of state. They lost her paper work and passed the bill onto collections which affected her credit score. It’s not worth the hassle. Find another gym that doesn’t use a third party billing system to do their dirty work. Gyms like this end up charging you all kinds of fees in the end and you pay way more then expected.
Access to almost everything you would expect out of a standard gym membership. My only real gripe is that theres no solid place to perform pull ups. Well there is, but its the super sweet crossfit training room with punching bags, ropes, monkey bars, and God knows what else but the catch is you have to have the premium membership to get into. I understand why its like that, the equipment is expansive and they dont want the gym meat sticks to ruin it. I still dont like being teased by awesome equipment just out of reach.
The epitome of a true health club.Love this gym. Been going here for years and Ive never had a problem with anything. The staff is always attentive and friendly, and the manager (Warren) is the most professional/inviting person youll ever meet. I still dont know how he knows everybodys name.
I just cancelled my membership at baileys and while i enjoyed it i have to give it one start due to there contract rules. I had upgraded my membership at some point to the platinum and later realized i didnt need it and attempted to downgrade well you cant downgrade your membership and i thought that was fine ill just wait till my contract is up to change it but in order to downgrade you must sign a new contract and pay new registration fees. In short they will always welcome you to upgrade your membership but you may never downgrade even once the contract expires.
Awesome gym, clean locker rooms, clean bathrooms, very spacious gym, plenty of room to workout in. Weights and dumbbells always on racks and not all over the floor. And the 24 hours access for members is just awesome. I highly recommend.
Complete and total thieves. I started with them 2 years ago, the gym was pretty decent for the price and facilities -- within 4 months, they shut down the main work out room for remodeling, and when it was opened back up, you suddenly had to pay extra to access that room. Cut the services that had brought me there in the first place. Tried to cancel and they said it would be a couple hundred dollars --- then I moved out of the state. I called to cancel and said they cant cancel over the phone, Id have to drive back to cancel and show proof that Ive moved away. I only had a few months left and was assured they had made notes and my contract wouldnt renew. Now my contract was supposed to be up - (signed a two year contract with 6 months free)... instead of the promised cancellation, I got hit with a charge that is THREE TIMES as much as the usual charge ---> oh thats the yearly extra renewal fee...but when I said I wasnt renewing and had moved away I get: oh wow, so sorry, the six months free just put you in contract for an extra 6 months, and every third month was free, so youre stuck with paying for this unethical, thieving gym for another 6 months. Someone should have outlined that when you signed up. Nope, the manager didnt. Just pushed me into signing on the dotted line, and pushing what an extra deal with 6 months free, it wont be a problem to cancel if you move....They cant even help you with billing, you have to call their corporate office... thats not even open. DO NOT GO HERE. THEY ARE LIARS. THEY ARE UNETHICAL. Terrible. Would give it negative stars if I could.
This is the best gym in Gainesville, bar none. I had gone from fitness club to fitness club looking for a membership that fit all my criteria and Baileys checked every box. Multiple exercise rooms where you can cycle or do your own personal workout with a system that has hundreds of video classes of every kind. From aerobics, to interval training, to cycle classes, all shown on a big screen with coordinating music and great instructors. There are instructor-led Fitness classes as well such as Pilates. The main gym area is tremendous. Even the locker rooms are wonderful. Baileys recently underwent an extensive renovation and its better than ever. The staff is caring and involved - and the place is always clean. Memberships are not cheap but this gym is worth every penny.
The staff at Baileys is great. Ive been a member here for roughly 5 years and am thankful to call this gym home. People in this gym come here with a work mentality and train hard. Great atmosphere.
Avoid this gym and do not let them fool you with their fake low prices. At the end of the contract they charge you a variety of fees that increases the total price for you to almost twice. These fees include GYM ENHANCEMENT FEE, BUYOUT FEE, TERMINATION FEE (they automatically renew your contract at the end of each year, without letting you know and then charge you this mandatory fee if you dont want to continue). THIS IS A TOTAL RIP OFF. AVOID!
No complaints at all. I have never had a problem-- I dont know where these other reviews are coming from. Staff is courteous and almost everytime I go, the place is being cleaned so it actually smells good. When equipment is broken, it has always been quickly repaired. Would definitely recommend membership here to a friend.
Machines will be broken for weeks at a time. The bench press bars have no grip causing your hands to slide down the bar and when you re rack the bar your hands will be pinched between the rack and bar. A lot of guys grunt very loud and look like they are taking steroids. One guy in particular that wears football gloves and an Oakland As hat smells awful, like a 10 ft radius smell of week old gym clothes. holding my breathe as I walk past him to get to my next exercise.
Extremely Friendly, clean, and great value for the price. They have just added 2 new fitness rooms and updated the locker rooms. Members have 24 hour access 7 days a week, 365 days a year. The pictures online do not do it justice, must see and try for yourself. Great equipment, well maintained, it is my home away from home.
It’s a good gym, but it’s a bit pricey for what you get. At least it’s not crowded.
The membership is kinda of rigid but Warren is awesome. I honestly feel he makes it a point to meet and know every member of his gym. You rock Warren!
BEST GYM IN GAINESVILLE. Amazing atmosphere, great variety of equipment and good membership level options.
Highly Committed Professionals assisting individuals get the most from their lives. Club invites businesses in once a month to introduce club members to them. Awesome!
Great gym. Every piece of equipment and free weights you need. Lots of room. Good vibe
Best gym I’ve ever been to!! Everyone who works here is so nice and helpful especially Bailee!
I enjoy this gym even though there are many people who enjoy standing around wasting most peoples time....but what would a gym be without those people right?!?!! Anyway great people, staff and atmosphere. The machines dont break as often as they used to, but seriously its not the gym its the people. People dont know what they are doing, they break the machines and slip off as if nothing happened.
Dang!!!! Now I’m scared to join, bummer. The only way I would join is paying yearly in cash. But I won’t feel comfortable with my checking account or credit cards on file.
It’s painful to cancel their membership. I sign up yesterday and wanted to cancel it today. They charged me 168.27 on my bank account and I only used the free trial. I have to call the corporate number to cancel it. The corporate asked me to send them email so they can cancel it without charges. Why would they charge me over a membership that I just sign up yesterday??Guys it will cost you a lot to make a mistake in Baileys. Make sure that you are 100% sure that you really want to sign up a membership with them. The staff are really excellent! But the policy s&@ks
Gym is good. Poeple are cool. Warren is a good warden
The gym itself was fine (my gym was in Gainesville); however, the corporate office does not have a place to leave a public review so I will leave mine here. I contacted Baileys Feb 11, 2017 to cancel my membership ( I have my wireless carriers call log to prove it). At the time of cancel, I was told that the company take a another draft from my account due to the 30 day draft period, which was fine because I wasnt moving until April and could use the gym in March. To my dismay, I checked my account today to find that I was charged in March AND April 2017. Called corporate and they stated that because I did not receive a confirmation receipt and they do not have notes on file, they will process my cancellation effective today and my account will be drafted YET AGAIN. This will make TWO MONTHS that I will be unjustly charged and unable to use their facilities due to their negligence. They do not record their calls (sounds suspicious to me...) and the girl on the phone had the audacity to ask me if I recorded the February conversation. WHY WOULD I???!!! When dealing with a company with integrity, you shouldnt have to. My second call was made today, May 4, 2017 at 2:36pm. I will post this review on every Baileys gym possible because your members have a right to know how corporate handles (long-time btw) members when they desire to cancel membership. If you value integrity in a company, you may want to look elsewhere.
Its an awesome gym. The members are nice and very motivational. The staff is super down to earth and friendly. The prices are pretty cheap too.
Let me first say the equipment they have is not bad for a gym there size but the problem is they never maintain the equipment in goodoperation. Theres constantly machines that are out of order and it takes them about 2 months to get them fixed and by that time 2 or 3 more have broken down. They never say anything to people abusing the equipment or dropping massive amounts of weights on the second floor. You think they would care a little about there equipment but it doesnt seem that way. With better management that gym could be a really nice and enjoyable place to trained but as of late its anything but that. :( Get with the program Baileys!!!
The gym itself is good but theyre a bunch of thiefs. I froze my account back in august since I am traveling and continued to pay my months left on my contract. I called last month to make sure I no longer owed ANYTHING FURTHER and the manager told me my contract was over and that there would be no more money taken out of my account. He also said I was on my free months until February yet they went ahead and took out a yearly fee that gets applied while on CONTRACT. My contract is over so this fee should no longer apply. But if for whatever reason it did apply, I could have been told this when I called last month instead of being told there will be no more charges to your account. And of course when I call corporate, they say there is nothing they can do. LOL you are corporate. If you cant do anything about what YOUR management says then who can?! If you call any other business with an issue, they fix it. Baileys will not, they are unprofessional, and they will hide behind nothing they can do. There is a lot you can do but you choose not to because your customer service is nonexistent. Get everything in writing because they know they can lie to you and corporate will allow it. I was with this gym on 2 different contracts for a total of over 3 years and I was going to continue my membership once I was back in Florida. Instead, today I gave up the months I had already paid for while on freeze and cancelled for good. I refuse to give another dollar to this business.
This gym is ok at best, but the corporate is a joke.. you try to cancel a membership and they say it’s been canceled then months later you get an email saying that they are taking you to collections because you didn’t pay them.. do not recommend going here. Youfit is just a few miles down the road and are much better then this place...
Good gym. Not too crowded and the rates are good. Locker rooms have recently been renovated but still are not that great.
Do yourself a favor and for the love of God sign up at any other gym in the area. I signed a 2 year contract back in April 2017 and was told that my agreement would be up right now in April 2019. But, conveniently, they left out that since I got 6 months free my contract now extends into OCTOBER. Not to mention I was told I could cancel at any time for $50 but somehow that now only applies if I move 25 miles away. LOL They’re almost useless in terms of customer service. Warren, I think, the manager is pleasant but his staff leaves a lot to be desired. It’s not worth the hastle or the money to workout here.
Be careful when you sign up here. I was told that they would discontinue my account if I had to move to a new location for the military. I moved away, and they continued to charge me for two years. I called the office three times, and each time I was assured that my account would be closed. I called corporate twice to request a refund, and have my account deactivated because the employees in Gainesville never did. Both times I spoke to someone, was put on hold, and hung up on. Once when I called, I was assured that the billing department would call me back, and they never did. Ive spent near $20 a month on this gym for the last three years, and have been living in NC since the summer of 2013. They even continued to charge me once my 2yr. contract had expired. The other more expensive gyms are worth the money to me as long as I dont have to deal with customer service like this ever again.
Staff is extremely friendly and helpful! Personal trainers are top notch and committed to helping you get in shape! Plus the gym is 24 hours.
I absolutely love this gym, and Im so glad that I got a membership here. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful, with a great manager - Warren. Its updated, clean, with a lot of different machines. Gym members are also very friendly and helpful. I would definitely say that its the best gym in Gainesville for sure, not to mention the prices are very reasonable (essential for those who are ballin on a budget like me).
Good Gym, but the membership contract is awful. If you sign up for a year or two year contract there is no way to cancel your membership, no matter the reason. I moved am still have to pay the membership for a gym I havent been to in 6 months and wont be going to ever again.
I tried out the Baileys one week free trial and loved it. The gym is really big, clean, and I really enjoyed all the machine options. I didnt really run into problems with what machines to use as there was always so much different stuff I could just jump on and continue my exercise. The staff was really nice and none of the people bothered me or anything like that.I ended up signing up with YouFit Gym due to the Memorial Day discounts they offered and the cheaper price in comparison to Baileys and Gainesville Health and Fitness.Baileys was larger though and offers more choices of equipment.
Be forewarned of unfair business practices regarding membership dues. Baileys is known for unfair membership practices. Anyone looking to join this gym should look elsewhere for gym membership.
Nice facility and amenities; but WARNING FOR COLLEGE KIDS ON THE MOVE: this place will bill you stupid until you do a strange loop where you are supposed to send a hand written letter of termination to Tallahassee, multiple proofs of address change and $50, via mail (not phone or computer). They wont stop billing after your contract is up either, then require one last months payment out of you to cancel. Pretty inconvenient and make you jump through hoops to stop paying them. Like those magazine scams basically. Maybe I am just mad at myself for falling for it. Learn from me, save yourself time and money
This gym is a horrible excuse for a business, their customer service is atrocious and their facilities are frequently broken and smell of strong body odor. All they care about is their fees that they collect from their members they don’t care about whether they’re happy or not with their company I highly recommend you seek a different gym.
This gym seems like a cheap and simple solution to expensive and crowded bigger fitness clubs. Do not be deceived. There were no early morning classes available, which is surprising because many people are not available for a 10am yoga. There were an excess of macho men bragging of their sexual exploits with vile language that objectified women, with loud voices right next to me. To say I felt uncomfortable would be an understatement. The manager and owner were callous toward these situations and I have paid for 18 months of dues without setting foot on the premises. This gym is not professional, accommodating or supportive of protecting and caring for its female members. Stay away!
Baileys has a very good open floor plan with everything from free weights to a later machine squat rack treadmills elliptical machine and stationary bikes also has an area with sport attire supplements and cold drinks
I love this gym! Warren and David will make you feel like family. Great people and great gym!
Wide variety of equipment for all demographicsFriendly and down to Earth staff (I feel like Im greeted by an old friend every time I come in)Members stick to themselves (havent experienced any harassment or rude behavior)Has a very good hard working environment-feel which caters to the average Joe as well as members focused on athletic performance.
Love this place!! Been a member since 2011. The place has been remodeled and has all new equipment! The staff makes me feel comfortable and at home.
Nice place to train. They recently renovated and everything is much more colorful with hard wood floors in certain areas. They updated some of the equipment and have more equipment overall. Changed out the “yoga stretching” room into an athletic sports room; filled with tire flip, ropes, crossfit-style cage and even synthetic turf.Place is kept clean and is well staffed.Everyone is helpful and having a place to buy protein bars/shakes after a workout is very convenient. Can get very busy, but everyone is friendly and accommodating.Biggest complaint I’ve seen is the contracts. They have done away with them if you pay the registration fee up front, and you get a lot for your money compared to every other gym in Gainesville.
I would give zero stars if it were an option. Do not waste your time on this gym. They will mislead you about your contract and refuse to help you when you need out. I completely regret signing up for this gym and would advise you look elsewhere!!
Love this gym and all the great team members and staff who have made my goals attainable! And theyre open 24/7, great for my work schedule!!
Typical globo gym w a handful of cool pieces of equipment. A lot of bros that just talk a lot/bro science types and squat rack curlers. If you can avoid rush hours, its not a bad gym.
Best gym ever! Bailey is super cool!
This is a wonderful gym! The staff is great, very helpful and attentive to your needs. All the weights and cardio machines youll ever need. Andre teaches a great sports and agility class thatll have you dripping in sweat with in the first 5 minutes. The manager is very nice and always greets you with a smile.
Shame has so much potential
This gym is by far the best i have ever been a part of. The staff are so welcoming and friendly I feel so comfortable going here, they even chat with me while they arent working. The other day I left my super expensive bluetooth headphones at the gym, and had figured they were long gone but I asked if they had been returned anyways. They said no, but a few hours later I got a call saying they had them. Turns out, an employee found them after she closed and didnt want to leave them there overnight, so took them home with her and the next day drove them back to the gym in her free time on her day off to drop them off. When she dropped them off the manager Warren called me himself to say they had my headphones! This kind of customer service is just so unparalleled and I have never been treated so well at any other gym. I love it here and cant imagine having a membership elsewhere.
I love this gym. Im my personal opinion this is the best gym in Gainesville.
Good gym, no nonsense. Contract is impossible to get out of without paying the $200.
Great gym, wonderful staff.
Careful of cancelling your memberships. Just got called from collections for a membership I canceled when I left the city over 2 years ago even though I paid the cancellation fee.
They pull the classic bait & switch. They promise one thing & you end up paying a lot more. On top of that if your not some giant steriod user or a stripper. You wont fit in.
By far the best gym in Gainesville if you want to seriously work out. I have been a member previously at Planet Fitness, YouFit and worked out at Gainesville Health & Fitness and Alter Ego. For the price, you get more than everything you could ever need to workout. The staff is amazing..friendly and helpful. Facility is really clean. Members are also friendly, helpful, in tip top shape and inspiring. The gym etiquette is the best of any gym Ive been to.
Great gym, great prices, and friendly staff. Best gym Ive been too!
Been there 4 months, love the staff and equipment availability and the 24 hour availability of the facility. New mens locker room area with showers.
The best gym in Gainesville, period. Best prices, best collective. Join.
This place is a scam and a half. I signed for a 2 year contract but little does anyone know, that your contract is never ending. By far the most ridiculous thing I have ever dealt with. So after my 2 year contract was up I kept getting charged to my account without receiving a call, email, or text to notify that I am still being charged for using the facility, mean while I had no clue my membership is still running. Now the cancelation part, another hassle, you have to physically go in, show your face, AND physically sign your name to CANCEL YOUR 2 year contract. Yeah by far the stupidest thing ever.. Not to mention signing up may take 3 seconds, and after that your all theirs.. THIS GYM IS A SCAM. (up charges and extra fees my be applied to your account without your knowledge)
Awful service and business ethics.
If it was possible for me to leave negative stars for this terrible business I would. As other people have said they have refused to cancel my membership after calling multiple times. Each time I call I get HUNG UP ON by the representatives working at both the local gym and the corporate office. This company should be investigated for the fraudulent activity and refusal to cancel memberships when asked. Please, DO NOT GO TO THIS GYM!!! You will be left with a massive headache and months of bills after you attempt to cancel your membership!!!
Do yourself a favor and do not sign a contract with this gym. While the facility is mostly clean, with the exception of a constant ammonia smell throughout the upper floor, the staff that sign you up will not adequately or accurately explain the contract and give you false information. I was told that I could very easily exit my contract if I had medical reasons or if I moved more than 25 miles from a Baileys location. What they neglect to tell you is that the medical reasons that you must provide are some that have to persist for the entirety of your contract. So after a car accident that resulted in a misaligned spine and pelvis where I could not actively use the gym for months due to doctors orders I still had to pay for a membership since the doctor set my recovery time with PT within the time of my contract. Next they will gouge you for every fee if you move out of the area, $50 for a cancellation fee, $30 for the last month, an additional $30 when the initial notice you originally provided to staff at the gym was not recorded, and then another $30 when the documents you provide to prove you have moved are not sufficient. Corporate will return your calls days after you leave them messages, the managers will not be able to take your calls when you request to speak with them, and as a corporate entity they will do everything in their power to drive you for every last cent. I have been a member at gyms where equipment was not maintained to the degree of actual physical danger, I have been thrown from a treadmill due to a loose track belt, I have even been mildly electrocuted due to a short that was left damaged in a watering fountain, I would gladly go back to those gyms rather than set foot in a Baileys health and fitness again.
So this gym needs a pros/cons listProLots of equipment. Good variety in the equipment, which means you can really hit the spots you want to work on.The people here train hard. If you love to lift, youll be in good company. The staff seem friendly (at least to me, they have been). The place is clean, newly remodeled, and they take care of it.ConsTheres tons of people. This is probably the busiest gym in Gainesville, so if your only lifting times are during peak hours, youre kinda SOL. Yes they have 3 squat racks, but theres gonna be a line, and youll have to wait. The parking lot is terrible. Dont take a car there if you care about dings in the doors. Or park somewhere other than in front of the gym. This isnt really a pro or con, its just informational -If youre the type that gets intimidated, the intensity of the patrons might make you turn around and walk back out. You will find people that look like muscle magazine here. There are definitely people on all kinds of supplements here. This is not planet fitness with a lunk alarm. People lift heavy stuff here. To some it is inspiring, to some people who have come with me it was too intense.Overall I give this place 4 stars because 3 seems too low. They really try to take care of their patrons in my experience, and it should be a mark of how well they run the gym if theyre overly crowded, not a fault. They are also fairly cheap. Im on a month to month plan and its only 20/month, and I can cancel it anytime I want. They have multiple payment options if you need them. All in all, a pretty decent spot.
Very good price for a gym. Good equipment, clean, and none of those looks from people in better shape.
Equipment is always broken, takes forever to get it fixed. Water fountain has been broken for months.
This gym is a joke Ive tried to cancel my membership due to a move and I cant seem to get them to stop billing my credit card this has went all the back to 8/1/2015 its now 2/25/2016 and Ive sent documents supporting my new address in a different area. They billed 187.14 to my card over this time and I cant seem to get them to stop. So if youre thinking of taking out a membership with them you may want to think of somewhere else cause once they got your card inf they can just keep charging away. Sorry for the bad news but Ive had to contact BBB to try and get this to stop.Unbelievable that businesss have to go to this extreme to make money. Just giving heads up!
