A nice quiet place for students. Apartments are reasonable but the downside is the distance from university and other town amenities. Getting to your class during morning rush hour is a nightmare until and unless you have an electric scooter or something of that size.Buildings have gone a little old and require renovation.
Gently used to new condition. Amazing amenities! Organized move in days. Work orders put in are pretty responsive. Affordable price in a city that has gotten out of control with renting prices. Great staff so far. You cant beat the price for what you get at Hideaway. Only a couple great affordable places on this city left and Hideaway is one of them!
The Hideaway has revamped and really is trying to make all the residents happy! I have lived here for a year and half now. I LOVE it. It is affordable, clean, comfy, fully furnished, roommate selection, and Maintenance is so fast. I love that the office workers are so helpful and always answer when you need them. I plan on staying here for another 2 years until I’m done with my Master’s Program. I woh don’t have been able to afford my education without The Hideaway.I’m leaving this review because I truly love it here and my friends and I have made the most of it! We are so thankful for the many ways this apartment complex has provided for us. God bless (:
This is my second year living here. I was in a 4-4 last year which was awful to say the least. The apartment itself was wonderful. The complex is nice and I like the amenities. However, on move-in day there were roaches everywhere, it was dirty and dusty and it was evident that they did not clean before we moved in. We cleaned and sprayed the apartment, however the roaches were everywhere. For some reason, in December I went home for Christmas break and came back to find that the roaches had disappeared. We didnt see a single roach for the rest of the year. Not really sure what changed but I wasnt complaining. This year, new management took over and it has been a much better experience overall. I moved into a 2-2 and they renovated the apartments so that they look a little newer. Some of the furniture was worn out but it was much cleaner than the first apartment. Also, the apartment is not infested with roaches! I have seen 2 or 3 come from the drain in my shower at night, but nothing like last year. Im not sure if the new management did something different to get rid of them or if we just got lucky and happened to be put in a roach-free building. Overall, I have had a much better experience in my new apartment and I would recommend this place.
I have been in this place for last six months. The apartment is pretty good. I loved the other facilities like gym and swimming pool. The service is praiseworthy. The apartment staff are very friendly and quickly respond to service request.Update: There is security issue in this place.
I lived here from 00-02. Thats right, I was a campus lodge OG. When I moved in everything was new. At the time, high speed ethernet was considered a hot commodity & this place had it. I lived in a 4 bedroom. Loved having my own bathroom & private space. My first year, I lived with 3 other guys and we were all really close and partied. My second year, my 3 roommates all dropped out or left for various reasons. I ended up living alone in the 4 bedroom for a couple months. Fine with me. Eventually, they placed a couple of Asian students who lived there for a few weeks and then they left. I loved it here actually. Lots of parties. Tons of hot ladies. What else do you need? Im old now, but this place used to be fire. Go Gators!
Hideaway is alright. Makala is a really nice lady. Shes the leasing manager. She will make you feel right at home.
For the price you pay, it isnt a bad apartment. The staff is helpful with solving problems. However, at the time of my move-in, my apartment was in poor condition (dirty, missing furniture, and broken utilities). Some problems in the unit were solved, others are still there and have not been fixed. Overall, it is not a bad complex, just underwhelming when you move in to a rough looking unit.
The facilities and apartment itself are great, however management is a joke. They make it very inconvenient to live here as a paying resident, also can’t trust when they say they are going to have the office staff oversee the outside vendors as they are working. The office staff isn’t around and these random vendors are just allowed in your apartment to roam and do whatever they wish, we’ve had multiple occurrences where they have used our PERSONAL towels to clean up messes they made, and recently have dumped wax all over our wall, which I’m sure we will be charged for. Cheap place, but management is overly controlling and rude. Very disappointed I re-signed so early or I would be gone!
Moving from 12hrs away and this place has been a lifesaver!! The property is awesome!! Has everything you need. The staff is on top of everything and was great with communication. The management would answer any questions I had and worked with me on my situation from moving states. Price value is unreal!! I’m giving this place 5 stars
This. Place. Is. Gorgeous! Driving in the palm trees captured my eyes. On top of it, it easy extremely clean and the staff is Amazon. The staff specifically Johnathan Spence was a titan when it came to helping me move in. He responded quickly and was helpful for my whole move in process!
Hideaway Gainesville is a great place to live. Each bedroom has its own bathroom which is very convenient. Also the amenities are great. A pool, basketball court, gym, and computer areas for school work if need be. The staff - especially Johnathan Spence - is also really helpful because they are responsive and want to work with you with any issue you may have.
Just moved to Gainesville this August and Hideaway has been a great home for me. Ive enjoyed the pool, basketball courts, and of course the wifi is always a plus.
I have been a resident here for 2 years and have absolutely LOVED it! As an out of state student, I loved moving to a property that has had a ton of resident events. This has allowed for me to get to know a lot of people that are my age and fellow Gators! I have recommended so many people to live here next year!
All the staff Ive met have been super friendly, I love my apartment, and the location is great. Just moved in and looking forward to being here for a while!
Went to pickup a FB marketplace sale and witnessed a terrible T-Bone. Do NOT turn left leaving this complex, you might regret it.Talked to a few friends and the person I went to meet; this happens often. The complex needs to have this addressed. No turn on left would be the easiest solution, but there should just be a light.I will change this review if this issue is addressed.Be careful.
Darius Fondren is an amazing, considerate, thoughtful, professional and incredibly helpful. I told him I needed some scripts printed because I didnt have a computer. I felt extremely stressed however Darius made things better by being willing to help, with a smile.
The Hideaway Gainesville is a great place to live!!! They have a fun, friendly staff that is efficient at everything they do!!! The entire staff from the office staff to maintenance to even the grounds keepers, make living here a place you can call home and enjoy!!! The Hideaway Gainesville is a beautiful place to live and they have done amazing things with renovations, to make it a truly unique place to live. ❤️❤️❤️
I have loved living here! I’ve been here for three years and have gotten my whole friend group to move here too. The amenities are awesome and the staff are always so nice and receptive to anything I need.100% would recommend living here too!
Wish there is a negtive score for them. The management is definitely a joke. I regret everyday that I have renewed with them after taking over a room for a few months. Will not renew for sure next time. And take my advice my friend, DO NOT move in.
Currently living here and while my 3 roommates are gone I have a new nuisance called the cleaning staff. No emails or messages when these people enter or exit my apartment. They have waltsed in like they own the joint every single day this week. This is the 4th time I have awoken to what I thought was an intruder in my home and almost harmed their staff out of self defense and panic. Loud, noisy, and waking me up while I’m sleeping while I have night shifts. They leave me alone but I’d like to know when a person I don’t know enters my apartment without notifying me. So if your the jumpy type remember to not whip out your gun on 2 separate occasions like I almost have and check who’s there cause they won’t tell you when there coming by.
Ive had constant billing issues due to lack of communication. Went down on March 1st and fully paid off the apartment and turned in my keys and signed the paperwork stating Im leaving only to find out now in late April that they still have my lease as active, which is the reason I got charged for utilities I havent used in months. Theyre a nightmare to try to work with when it comes to anything billing related.
Organization was poor and my apartment was NOTHING like what I was shown during the tour. I didn’t move my stuff in and I have immediately found someone to take over my lease.
The Maintenance Department, at Campus Lodge Gainesville, manages to provide excellent service even with them being responsible for providing maintenance in the 21 buildings, each with 3 floors of apartments + the other facilities and offices on the property. At least that’s what I have found to be true. I’ve lived here going on 3 years. The Superviser manages his crew by making decisions as to which member is well adapted/trained to take care of maintenance services a resident is in need of. This results in the maintenance work being optimally performed which yields to the service being completed in a timely manner. In lieu of that, I would suggest that the Residents and all else requiring maintenance work try to be patient and understanding concerning the workload the Maintenance Department is responsible for.Everyone needs accolades when they are doing a difficult job well.... so please consider giving this department some kind comments. Also, you may ask how can we be of help to the maintenance crew? Well one thing is to be considerate not only to them but your fellow neighbors as to stop leaving garbage in the parking lots and on the grounds so that it doesn’t cut into their work by them being overly responsible for cleaning up the property. Let’s show some respect for the apartment complex where we live.
DO NOT MOVE HERE WHATEVER YOU DO!!! When touring here I was amazed and extremely excited to begin living here. My first issue was on move-in when day I came into my apartment and it looked like it hadn’t been lived in for 10 years. There was dust everywhere there were gum wrappers under the bed and the whole place was filthy. My parents and I had to spend three hours just cleaning the place before I could even get my belongings into the apartment itself. Recently I went out of town for a week and I came back and all of my things were made a mess of. Things were broken off of my walls and they had left a note dated March 29 and that they would begin doing service the following day. It is because of the service that all of my belongings were damaged. Also because I was out of town they emailed me that I will be getting a new roommate on April 1 which would be the exact same day that I would be arriving back in Gainesville to my apartment. Because I would be getting a new roommate they said they would be sending in cleaners to clean the space so that the new roommate could feel welcomed. They definitely did not send cleaners because The apartment was 10x more of a mess than I left it in.I have also had issues with security because the gate for the apartment complex does not close so I do not feel safe here. I have actually had to get the police involved with some situations because they cannot handle the security of their residence.Another issue that I have had is maintenance because they come into your apartment at the randomness times and for no reason. They give one knock at 9 AM and expect you to answer the door and if you do not they just come in no matter if you are sleeping or not. They make themselves welcome in your apartment and don’t even care that it’s your living space because they are in charge; they have no respect for your personal things or space. They have been doing so many renovations to their apartments as well; kicking me out of my apartment from 9-5 on a school day so I had to find a place to take my dog as well as go to class.
Campus lodge is the noisiest apartment complex ever. It’s like they do yard work everyday at 8am so if you want to sleep in like ever...good luck. It ALWAYS sounds like there is a construction site outside your window. Otherwise, the complex is fine. If you want to ensure you don’t have roaches you have to request 3rd floor (but that’s a problem everywhere in Gainesville)
I would give this complex 0 stars if i could, truly. i don’t even know where to start but i guess i will start with the management team. Some of the staffers are friendly but as a whole, the management team is unhelpful with questions and unaccommodating with concerns.when locked out of my apartment on christmas eve, i was forced to pay an unwaivable 50$ lock out service charge on top of a 50$ replacement key fee, regardless of their plans to switch from key cards to physical keys before my lease was even up. not to mention, after that incident, my replacement key and my original key stopped working and i was locked out of my apartment for a 2nd time the following night. almost comically, the SECOND replacement key after that also did not work.more recently, after returning to my apartment late at night after having been gone for a little while, i found that my bedroom door had been locked with my key still inside of it. after having to go through the nightmare that is their emergency maintenance line to be let back into my room, the management office offered me no explanation other than it was the “routine of the quarterly inspections” regardless of the fact that it has never happened before and this is the last month of my lease.second and more importantly, the security/safety of this complex is extremely poor. there have been multiple statements issued throughout my time here of gun shots fired in/around the complex. the gate (which they forced us to put a sticker on our car window to unlock) has literally never once been closed, and unless you count the empty patrol car that sits in the same parking spot year-round, i’ve never seen security anywhere in that gigantic complex.with the charming additions of the cars that rev their engines at 2am while circling the complex and the vultures that occasionally inhabit the dumpsters, i can honestly say that july 31st cannot come any faster.
Current resident of 2 years ongoing now. Heres my take:Pros: affordable when compared to the rest of the complexes around here; quiet (prior to their new renovation and rebranding efforts from formerly Campus Lodge, because of the renovations its been pretty noisy); frequent community events; newly renovated flooring for standard units at no additional cost.Cons: Despite being advertised as a gated community, the front and back gates did not work during my time here (however, I noticed contractors here working on them, so perhaps they will finally work soon); distance from campus can be problematic to those without cars; crime in the area has generally increased in the past year, so much so that theres now a patrol service in the complex 24/7; any green space is either occupied by trash or dog poop or both; maintenance has to be bothered several times before they actually complete a request. Last year my dishwasher broke, and I had to get my parents involved before they finally came in to replace it and I very recently requested a SECOND pest control request for flies terrorizing the apartment because the first one got marked completed despite maintenance never entering my apartment.TLDR: affordable, but not the nicest place you could live.
Ive lived at Hideaway for one year and me and my roommates just signed a lease to live here for another year. I was looking for a good place to live that was also affordable. It was just ok when we first moved in, but its a lot nicer now. They put new floors new furniture and a new fridge in our apartment and I like the new stuff. They cleaned up the clubhouse and the gym so now me and my roommates can actually hang out and work out in there and its free so I dont have to go to campus to work out. Ashley the manager is super helpful. Its easy to get in touch with the maintenance guys any time we have an issue. We love the pool parties and free food too cause the hot dogs are bussin. They gave me free airpods for signing a lease for next year which is cool. 10 outta 10 would live here again.
Such a fun place to live. Great amenities, great people, and great atmosphere. Love how amazing the staff is too.
There were gunshots multiple times in this complex. The gates dont lock.
DO NOT MOVE IN HERE! I remember touring Campus Lodge and falling in love, but what they show and tell you and what is true and accurate are complete opposites. They will KEEP all or almost all of your security deposit no matter what, and charge you for extra things even if you didn’t put one down. If you want more detail of why you don’t have to move here, read more below...This was my experience at Campus Lodge:Moving in:Move in day my apartment was filthyThey didn’t actually take into account the survey I took to get “paired with a similar roommate” so it caused multiple issues when cleaning and noise complaints came upElectric is crazy expensive no matter what we did “like $100+ a person sometimes”The amenities were okay but not as good as they make it seemMoving out:They charge extra cleaning fees which would be fine if they actually did clean the apartmentCharged me for things left in the common areas that weren’t mine and were my roommates that I couldn’t get ahold of and didn’t want to touch her things (I wrote them a letter detailing the situation in the move out packet)Charged me cleaning fees when I basically professionally cleaned it and left the apartment better than when I moved inBasically STOLE almost my entire security deposit because of all of the above and a carpet replacement that should’ve been done before I ever moved in.Repeatedly called and emailed them about the issue of my security deposit and wanted to dispute it and NEVER heard anything back. (Emailed 3 times and called 10+)
Just moved in and found out gaming consoles can’t connect to the secure network the apartment provides but only the unsecured network. Possibility of getting your information stolen from your consoles.
My sister lived here and they were the worst. Everything was broken when she moved in and had several issues with the apartment throughout the time she lived there. When she moved out, they charged her a ton of cleaning fees even though she had picture proof of her leaving the apartment the same way she found it (actually cleaner than she found it).
Maintenance doesn’t do the job right the first time
Update: The next morning the office staff (Johnathan) called to speak about the issue, and offered me the tech gift to rectify the misunderstanding. This quick response and the addition of a sign to the front desk clarifying that short term leases do not qualify for the lease signing special made me feel much better about the lease I signed. I felt that the staff cared about resolving the issue right way as well as the residents of Hideaway. The updated unit looks great, and the rates are fair. One of the few places that offers short-term leases in Gainesville. Darius was a great staff member even remembering my Girlfriend and I when we went in to capitalize on the leasing offer on their website. The reason this review is two stars and not more is that when trying to pick up the free tech item (AirPods, Fitbit, JBL speaker, or Apple Watch) listed on their website for signing within 48 hours of receiving your contract I was for the first time told that my short term lease did not qualify. A small apology was offered for this misunderstanding, but after touring the units and being told of this deal and not told that my lease would not qualify I felt like I had been taken advantage of. I even checked the website to check if I had made a mistake, but on their webpage an asterisk is present on the offer with the text “Restrictions apply.” Nowhere that I could find were these restrictions listed. Overall, it makes me question the lease I signed.
3.5 I haven’t been here too long however not a bad place to stay just a roach problem but other than that not too bad.
Management is not that good. My friends have had a lot of issues. Not that bad of a place to live though for freshman and sophomores.
Beware of deadly left turn out of complex!!! Multiple people have gotten t-boned and I saw one right in front of me. Extremely dangerous and the complex needs to work with the city to add a light
Update: On 03/29, My vehicle and several other vehicles were shot inside the property in the bright daylight and there is no surveillance and leasing office refused to cooperate (pictures for my damaged vehicle and a vehicle next to me are added from the same incident). They sent an earlier email to residents regarding the incident but mentioned that no damage occurred. Later when I told them my vehicle was damaged, their response was arrogant and told me that there is no need to tell everyone that my vehicle got shot. As they advertise they have secured gate, never seen that working in the past 8 months and anyone can trespass, so it tells you there is no minimum level of security around the property. Worst property management I have ever seen.Other reviewers have mentioned about the issue with the hotel like entrance door locks. Couple of occasions I was locked out too as the key card was not working and someone had to fix the whole lock on both occasions. Roaches are also a problem. They also messed up with my move in date and the whole process.I can go on and on...And I wont say anyone to move in or not to move in. You be the judge before believing all their deceiving advertisements !
The maintenance man was great, however, they were unable to fix the fan at this time so I couldnt give 5 stars
Love it here! I’ve been here for 3 years and have yet to be disappointed. Great staff, amenities, apartment, and roommates!
Wish I wouldve known Is be living with a dog. Im not an animal person
The floor was not as clean but easily fixed
Makayla is no help at all, couldn’t answer simple questions, bad attitude
I recommend any and everyone who is looking for affordable living with a well managed and quiet community to come to Campus Lodge Apartments.
If I could give 0 stars I would, so Ill just say this one star is for the pool. The apartments are old and in need of renovations. The community was taken over by new management, so I hoped they would try their best to improve the reputation. After moving in I had to submit multiple service requests to have things fixed. The a/c leaked and messed up the carpet and upon moving out they charged me to fix it. The windows in my room always leaked and mold and mildew started to form around it. I reported it to the office and all they did was send someone to spray it with bleach (SURPRISE!!! it continued to leak). Dont get me started on the insect problem. The carpets are so dirty that little bugs were always crawling up the walls. I put in service requests, but most times pest control only does the common areas. Its like they tried to get us to forget how awful the place is by throwing events and giving out free food. I understand rent is cheap and you get what you pay for, but this is no way for a company to treat their residents.
Property manager doesn’t care about safety of residents, was told gate would be closed it hasn’t been closed since I moved In and my 1 year lease is up. AC unit has been broken for months put in multiple request to have fixed. Move in day was terrible dead roaches found all around apartment to only find 100’s of them in the kitchen
Tenant reported a broken dish washer to “maintenance”. It was deemed as a non emergency and was never tended to in TWO MONTHS. The entire apartment has now flooded and is about 2 inches deep in water. If the original problem was dealt with in a timely manner this would have never been a problem. And i can assure you that management will place a fine on them for the damages when move out day comes. But this is a result of awful management and tenant neglect. DO NOT MOVE HERE FOR THE LOVE OF GOD!
My daughter has lived here for less than a month and has already had so many issues. Management does not care about their residents. I was wonder how they had higher than a 1 star review but then my daughter showed me the review with the picture of their sign bribing people into writing 5 star reviews.
We have had a great experience at CL for 6 years now with 2 of our children. However, units are no longer being maintained as well and the front Entry gate features is no longer functional and has lead to increased theft. Personal safety and vehicle security were the prime reasons our kids were willing to live so far from campus. Now there are always strangers on site, at the pool, gym and basketball courts.
Great friendly staff, they respond to calls on time. Was worried at first because of all the negative reviews. Did not see any bed bugs, or roaches. Is a great place to live. Only one bummer is the limit on pool access because of Covid.
I thought I could give Campus Lodge a second chance, but after this last year of being here all I can say is that I am very disappointed. Past residents are getting charged multiple cleaning/replacement fees for things that are completely unreasonable and simply not true. People are having to contact campus lodge regarding this issue, some have even sent pictures of their apartment before they left to PROVE that everything was fine and guess what, in most cases some of these charges have been dropped, but what about those who forgot or did not take any pictures after they cleaned up their apartment before leaving? Well, they will probably still be charged all of those fees. Why does a past resident have to prove that their apartment was clean and things were not broken while campus lodge tries to SCAM them by charging them with said fees? Please, do yourself a favor and DO NOT MOVE HERE, DO NOT SIGN A LEASE HERE. I just want to point out that these charges are ridiculously high, $500+ for a combination of lies. While the front desk and maintenance people are usually very friendly (I dont think they should be having to deal with all of these issues since they are the face of Campus Lodge) all of these wrongdoings are probably coming directly from management and it is very disappointing. The gate has been Broken for two years, never fixed, nonresidents go in and out, things get VANDALIZED, STOLEN. I have seen random people sometimes in groups show up by the pool and harass women and use drugs to the point were it isnt even safe to walk around your own complex by yourself. in conclusion, DO NOT MOVE HERE. Also, look at the reviews of people and look how campus lodge responds to them, their response is always a copy and paste message that does not help with anything, this management does not care about residents and they will do whatever it takes to charge you more money for no reason at all and then claim that they are allowed to do so.
The internet is horrible here. You can’t bring your own router, you have to connect through some airport-like WiFi. The overwhelming majority of the time it doesn’t connect to my computer. Wanna do zoom class? Nope. I’ve resorted to using my phones hotspot. They have an alternative guest WiFi that will connect, but it’s an open network and isn’t secure so I’m not willing to use it. We’ve requested help from the front desk staff, but they refused to help and said that we should call the internet company, who then couldn’t do anything.
The security gate was never working. No cameras in public area. Partying neighbors are everywhere. If you have a car and this is what youll get! For those who might be concerned, my car was actually severely scratched for TWO times, which in the picture shows the case for the second damage. When that happened the first time couple weeks earlier, I reported immediately to the office and asked them if theres anything they could do. Well, the conversation ended up within 5 mintues as they just said, you should call the police. I recognized that there was truly nothing they could do at that moment, except that to fix the broken gate or leave a comment which seems to be very nice but actually useless at all right below my review after I had already moved out. Ironically, there is always a police car parking right in front of the office and I just realized that it must be the best Chrismas decoration ever! Maybe I should just shop amazon and get one for me to guard my car? I guess it must be much cheaper than spending $3000 to repaint my entire car!
Terrible! Locked out at my place NO ONE answer the phone in regular office hour! So I locked myself out for whole afternoon. No one!!!But after working hour they answered and charged additional fees for emergency!!! Terrible services.
Overeall I feel like Campus lodge is great place to live. My only complaints have to come with maintenance. For me it has often teken a very long time for service requests to completed. For example the light in my laundry room stopped working in August and it was over a month before someone came in to fix it. The lock to the apartments main door has also been an issue. On more than one occasion the lock to my apartment has died locking me out of my apartment even though I had my key. As someone who used to work nights at a healthcare facility it was not a positive experience come back to my apartment and be locked out.
This place has lots of roaches, raised prices for nothing special. Also, if you live there do not loose your key or accidentally leave it in your room because you will have to pay a $100 fee to get a new key. Yes a decent place to live but will charge you for everything and will have emails of important papers “accidentally” delete and then will charge you for not sending them.
The prices are great, the staff and maintenance crew are extremely helpful and friendly. Shout out to Makayla and Jermaine, they helped me jumpstart my car. When the only jumper cables I had started smoking, Makayla went out of her way (while on her break) to go and buy me some new ones. Thank you all for the exceptional service and hospitality you show to your residents!
I recently moved in to Campus Lodge. While I do understand it is difficult to reach someone on a holiday weekend, the condition of our apartment is completely unacceptable. When myself and my roomates arrived, 3/4 rooms required over 4+ hours of cleaning. We found mildew in door hinges, across the entire window, and all over the blinds (which didn’t work), rotting cupcakes under the beds, tiles that came off the floor, and absolutely disgusting faucets.Of course upon further inspection we discovered NUMEROUS UNLABELED PILLS inside of our couch, leftover jewelry from previous tenants, and A BLOOD STAIN on the box spring. Instead of actually helping me, the assistant property manager Johnathon (who did absolutely nothing to help) came specifically to the office to call me, and then proceeded to leave without contacting me back, offering an actual solution, or informing the property manager. I was completely ignored with my concerns of neglect. If I could give them 0 stars I would.
I never leave reviews but I really feel the need to tell everyone to not sign here or let your sons/daughters live here!! My son lives here and so far it’s been a TERRIBLE experience. Everything in his apartment was broken and management’s does not care one bit. He said that after begging for weeks, he finally got one of the problems fixed. The actual maintenance team is very kind, but management is the problem. We will definitely not be renewing his lease for the following year, as they have left a very poor first impression.
I had a great experience my visit with campus lodge was excellent service was great I will recommend anyone to visit them to find a great place
Took a tour recently and loved what I saw! The amenities are great as well as the location and the space. While I was there the staff was super friendly and helpful and answered any questions that I had. Most likely will be signing a lease here!
Very reliable front office.
It has been 3 months since I moved out, they still dont return my security deposit. As it is not a small amount, I asked them several times whereas they always said that it had been sent to me.
First of all— when me and my best friend moved in they roomed us with a lady who was MUCH older than us. Our application didn’t match hers at all, they didn’t tell us she was there already, and they didn’t tell her we were coming. So upon arrival she was rude to us because she thought we were just in her home doing what we wanted. When we moved in the washer didn’t work, there was a bunch broken and damaged, the rooms were FILTHY. Dead roaches. Our AC & Heat has been broken for three weeks! I send in a order to get it fixed. A week later they said it was fixed on a certain day at a certain time— I was home ALL DAY. They were never there and never even fixed it. Now here we are a total of 2 1/2 weeks and it’s still broken. It was close to 85 in the house with no AC & here lately It’s been in the 20’s with NO HEAT. Absolutely would NOT recommend this place to anyone!
I continued to sign here because of the price, but now they increased the rent way to high for the bad quality of apartment. The staff is very nice and friendly and I know it is not their fault the place is falling apart. But unless you are living in the luxury apartments which not everyone can afford, save yourself from signing here. My AC was broken for over two weeks and it was almost 90 degrees inside my apartment because it was during July. The portable AC I luckily got was louder than the washing machine so I couldnt even sleep nor cook because it was so ridiculously hot. I was not the only one in this position, my friend was without AC too for a long time.My washer machine broke every other month. The fridge was so dirty when I first moved in it took a whole day to clean it. Only half of the stove worked. All of the furniture is really old and scratched. The floors are very stained even if you try cleaning them with bleach which I did.Their amenities like the pool, gym, and courts are nice. However, the mailboxes are super dirty and always full of spiders the size of my hand and their car station never works.
This is my first year at Campus Lodge and I have had a very pleasant experience. My door stopped working because of a dead battery, but Jonny from the maintenance team was super quick with helping me resolve this issue. Looking forward to another year here!
The people here are amazingly friendly
The staff talk down to the residents like they are the owner and we are the dogs.
Terrible maintainess attitude. Regular business hour we cannot reach anyone to help us repair the gate to let us in. NO OFFICIAl available,NO EMERGENCY CONTACT available!!! Around 10 times for me and my friends!
Campus Lodge is awesome! The amenities are great as well as the space. The staff was super friendly (especially Morgan) and helpful and answered any questions that I had.
I would not recommend this place. I live here currently and have since August 2019; the apartment itself is nice. The furniture was in great condition, the appliances as well. Keep in mind however I am in one of the newly renovated models so I cannot speak for other buildings or models. My shower has been broken and leaking since I moved in last year and was just fixed last week (July 2020). I had a service order in for it to be repaired for almost an entire year. My shower is constantly full of mold and mildew because it never dries. My toilet has broken 3 times and when they “fix” it, it always breaks and floods my bathroom. My bedroom is great, no bugs. We have to keep our apartment set to 70 degrees because the bedrooms do NOT cool, we all have extra fans to keep us from sweating while we sleep. The washer and dryer work, never had an issue. The pool was closed from December until March because of ‘winter’ but Floridians know that a Florida winter lasts about 2 weeks and it’s back into the 80’s again. We could not use the pool this entire time. Since COVID19 started all the amenities have been closed until last week and we now have to appointments made days in advance to use any of our amenities and are forbidden to have guests. I have been locked out due to leaving my key in my room twice, I called the emergency lock out service every hour from 9 PM until 2 AM in the morning. No one ever answered my call or came to unlock my door; I was forced to sleep in my car. My front door battery also dies constantly so I am locked out due to that as well periodically. Due to COVID19 all residents could pay their rent online without having to pay a $20+ convince fee (which is what they charge extra every month if you pay with a debit card online instead of a check or money order), but for July 2020 they brought the fee back. While the University of Florida is still closed, most people are moved away and quarantined but in order to avoid paying an extra service charge you must now go in person to pay your rent. Great quarantine measures Campus Lodge. I emailed the office staff about this charge because added onto our rent that people are forced to pay unless they go in person twice and they never answered me. They advertise a gated community and have large electric gates at the front and rear entrance and exit, the gates have never worked since I have lived here and I have heard from my neighbors who have lived here 2 years plus that they have not worked the entire time they lived here as well. The office staff is friendly and so are the maintenance men. I am moving out this July and could not be happier, while the apartment is a nice apartment in itself the troubles and the inconveniences that this property comes with is not worth it. Save yourself time and patience and look into different apartment complexes.
Although the property is a little older its in great shape. I got a nice huge room at an AFFORDABLE price. The staff is helpful and I love the amenities and activities.
A very nice place! I loved it! Elizabeth was super helpful she had an answer to all my questions very Professional and super friendly
Very nice place, the apartments are very spacious and clean as long as you keep it that way and dont live like a disgusting pig. The employees are super nice and helpful and go out of their way to help residents.
I’ve lived at Campus Lodge Gainesville since October ‘2018. I want to specifically write my review about the maintenance department. I have a lot of respect for the maintenance team, Johnny, Will and Thomas.I have had favorable experiences when I’ve needed someone from maintenance to check something out at my apartment. They are prompt and very experienced in repairing and/or replacing items when needed. Let’s give them a break, ok? There are over 700 apartments on the property located in 21 different buildings. Certain times of the year they are incredibly busy. As you can see with only 3 crew members they have to prioritize the service requests that are submitted. So if you plan on living here please keep in mind what my review is all about and give the maintenance crew the respect they deserve.
Very bad experience. Maintenance is a menace and cannot be trusted. Lied about a request never made. Im assuming because the neighbors were smoking and they use that method to check. Maintenance was quick but they would check your apartments when you arent home, I dont trust those men. Worked where they bought things and overheard conversations making me uneasy. Nice pool. Also, some of these 5 star reviews are written by people who work there since you must live there to work there last I heard...odd to my perception.Similar to dorm living. Lived there 13-14 but felt the need to share my experience. Renter beware.
Was awakened by noise of painting every morning this week, it was annoying. I cant bear it anymore.Edit: And it lasted for about 3 weeks now. Fxxk.
Terrible experience. Would always find a way to increase rent. Always charged me a ridiculous electric bill when I wasnt even there that much. Service was terrible. Manager never wanted to speak to me when I had a complaint. It took months for them to repair certain parts of the apartment. Conditions were terrible, some buildings were infested with cockroaches. Dont expect your apartment to look like the models. I would suggest finding a better apartment complex with good service and good conditions.
Worst management team I’ve ever met. Our door lock has same problem every month, and they just change the battery each time but dont care about the fundamental problem. Image you came home at 10pm in the evening and you cant get into the door because the same problem happens again, need to wait maintenance team about one hour just to change the battery.
Just in case anyone is wondering where the good reviews are coming from look at the picture I attached. I moved in here in August 2018. It took 3 months for repairs to the apartment after I moved in and had made initial maintenance requests. I wasnt roomed with 2 of my friends like I requested and I was also not on the floor or region of the complex that I said I preferred. The apartment reeked of mothballs when I moved in and the office refused to confront the girl in my apartment who was using them. The floors are downright filthy as well, no matter how hard you scrub them, the dirt will not come out (I believe they sealed the tile while it was dirty so now there is a coat of dirt trapped). If you have a dog, do not move here. The yards are infested with fleas and its nearly impossible to keep them out of the house and off of you. My dog wears a flea collar along with giving her flea baths once a month and still every time she goes for a walk she comes back with her legs covered in fleas. If they jump off her, they jump into your carpets and on to you. When I confronted the office about this issue, they told me that it is MY responsibility and that there are bugs in nature. The leasing manager blatantly told me that a good and responsible dog owner has their dog on preventatives (even though I told them she already was). When I asked, they refused to spray the lawns (which to my standard, shouldnt be considered nature enough to be infested with fleas). The neighbors throw litter around and when they threw glass on the sidewalk and I notified maintenance, they just swept it into the grass. So, now there is also glass in the grass and my pup has cut her paw on it. They use keycards for the front doors so the doors lock behind you when you leave for safety, but really what I have been noticing is that because of this a lot of people have to go to the front and get a temporary card and if you by chance cant find your old one by the end of the day or you forget to return your temporary replacement by when they close, youre charged $60. Seems like a way to scam people out of some extra money to me. Every issue I have had with management since I have moved in, I have gotten not only no apologies for the inconveniences, but they have argued with me and at time blamed me for their responsibilities while in turn getting nothing done about any of those issues. While the place is cheap, there are much better places than this for the same price range.
Great place to live! Great pool! The staff in the front office help you out when ever you need! Brittney and Darnell helped me when my car broke down and went above and beyond to get me situated. They are great people and make the living experience at campus lodge that much better!
DO NOT LIVE HERE! I was a loyal customer here for 4 years and when I moved out they replaced the carpet and furniture without telling me and charged me $900. No way to treat a long-time customer.
I hate to complain but I would like to share my own experience with prospective residents or those who are applying for this apartment. I was the former resident of the apartment. To be fair, the quality of Campus Lodge is average or above average compared with other apartments. However, the reason I gave it a one star rate (the lowest) out of five is that it makes me feel once you move out, they no longer care about you. When I moved out, Campus Lodge charged me 25 bucks for the visual appearance of the carpet of my room. However, in the move-in checklist, I have noted down in the floor/carpet session that some parts are sticky (floor) (the quote is the exact wording I used). So, I wrote a dispute form to Campus Lodge. I did not get any reply from them until I called them again and again myself. I called them many time (at least 6 times as far as I remembered). They never replied to my concerns. In one of the phone calls, they told me that they charged me for the visual appearance of the carpet, which I believe, is caused by the stickiness I noted down in the move-in checklist. And they never replied to my concerns regarding that. They mentioned that I could contact them via e-mail and I did. In the last e-mail, they finally replied to my e-mail. They did not reply to my concerns again. Instead, they mentioned Unfortunately, your dispute has already been resolved. We have looked into the dispute and have decided that you will have to pay out the FAS. You will be able to pay with certified funds to the front office. In the last phone call, they told me that the dispute has been closed. As a result, they still charged me for that. Although they mentioned that if I had any questions, I could contact them. I did but never got proper replies from them. Accordingly, I would definitely NOT recommend the apartment to those who are applying for it. To be fair, the quality of the apartment is average or above average. However, the communication would be really really really awful.
I’ll be living here for three years and the past two years the gate has been broken. It’s cheap so you get what you expect from a cheap room. I’ve learned that a broken toilet is not an emergency and is not a priority fix. So if your toilet breaks you have to get up in the middle of the night and walk all the way to the clubhouse to pee. I would say it’s a good apartment if you were not in it all of the time. I spend most of my weekends at home and I’m only in the apartment during the week. So it’s not so bad. But it’s not great either
My son has lived at Campus Lodge for the last six months and I have no regrets. It is a great place to live and meet college students. The apartments are spacious and clean. Each room has its own private bathroom. Gated complex so parents can feel at ease that their son or daughter are safe. I highly recommend considering Campus Lodge for your college student.
Love love love. I met my best friend here. Campus Lodge finds the cream of the crop. The staff is very friendly and always assists me in a timely and genuine manner. Gotta love the Lodge Life!
I have lived here for 3 years now and I have always had a pleasant experience. Maintenance is always quick with work orders and the office staff is always friendly.
Great place and safe!
When I first moved into campus lodge I was not pleased. HOWEVER, Darnell worked very closely with me to resolve any issues. He is a dedicated manager who listens to the residents. I would not recommend upgraded apartments are nice and worth it. Brittney and Emily always greet me with a smile.
Great pool, nice gym, decent sized rooms. Wish the buses came more often though. It would be nice if fixing the gate in this GATED complex didnt take an entire year. All other complaints are related to a lack of a feeling of security at night that an operational gate provides
I have not moved in yet but I have signed a lease. I am so excited to move here. The rooms were amazing, the furniture fit in very well, and the property itself is spacious. However, I think that beautiful pool sold me. I also want to say that they have a great staff. Katelyn, was so hopeful when I had questions and she helped a lot when my friend was signing a lease. Great staff = happy future resident
Campus Lodge has been my home for going on three years. It is a lovely place to live. The community is in a wooded area which provides residents with an escape from the chaos of student life and downtown living. Darnnell Presley in the front office is a joy to work with. I didn’t choose the lodge life, the lodge life chose me.
I love Campus Lodge! Our son lived there during his years at UF and it was a great home away from home for him, so when our daughter went to UF, Campus Lodge was our choice for her too. Our number one reason was that we felt it was a safe place for them to live. The gated community, the security and the helpfulness of the staff has provided a high level of comfort when our kids lived away from home. The fact that the units are furnished, that utilities are included, even wifi, that they have individual room leases, and inside laundry for each apartment and convenient online payment options, are all things that made Campus Lodge our first choice as parents. The friendly and helpful staff, the amenities such as the pool, the study room, the workout room and the special events that are offered for the students has made it a top choice for our kids too! Thank you Campus Lodge!
Elizabeth was super sweet and informative! Deserves a promotion if you ask me! Highly recommend staying here!
Horrible experience. I’ll give 0 star if google allows to. I wear my noise canceling buds over 10hrs per day. Let me tell you why.Huge sounds of everything - a/c, fridge, washer and dryer, exhaust fan (it is connected with your bathroom light)... Besides, the soundproofing is also terrible. You’ll hear your upstairs are walking (my neighbor keeps walking everyday for hours and hours and hours), your upstairs are washing clothes (sometimes at mid night), your upstairs’s a/c are working. You’ll absolutely find a better apartment complex in Gainesville with a lower rate rather than writing down these complaints here after staying up 2 days because of those noises.
Do not recommend living here. Awful experience. Management isn’t well either.
I would highly recommend Campus Lodge to anyone looking. The staff is great and they have awesome events!
