Excellent experience. I cannot say enough good things! We took my mother here to rescue a small dog and from the first communication I could tell they truly have the dogs best interest at heart. Then, upon meeting them...wow they dedicate their whole lives and hearts to these fur babies. I recommend this rescue to everyone.

What an amazing place and Im not sure if shes the owner but Teresa really came through for us, we have two large dogs that were not part of the plan once we bought our new home but we didnt have the heart to get rid of them when they were puppies but then they got much larger and they started tearing up the inside of our home so we called Teresa for advice and she gave us a bunch of kennel panels for free and what a difference that made for our animals! We owe her a huge debt of gratitude, very kind woman and you can tell she really loves these animals. If you are ever in a position where you have to let your animal go please give her a call, she will find them a great home and she takes amazing care of them until they find new foster parents. TC is the the absolute best!Im so thankful that I met her and had the chance to raise a puppy from her for 5 years. 5 years after I adopted the puppy she still remembered it and new all about it.If youre looking to adopt a new family member, this is where you should go.

Wonderful Place 🙏🙏🙏My husband and I were in a bind and Teressa came through with Donating a kennel/fence for our 2 bigger dogs. An not only did she donate the kennel she got ahold of someone who is willing to donate 2 dog house for us. This has been the biggest blessing for our fur babies. We called and email them mutiple times for nothing. My wife and us have been trying to adopt for 3 weeks this place never contacts you. If your ginna adopt dogs out then learn to communicate with people. Once a year we find a helpful organization and donate to help them.

I havent had any contact with Evelyns rescue yet. I cant give any positive answers since no pups have been found. I lost a precious friend to cancer 1year ago. Daisy was a boxer,basset cross. She was my anchor.

These are the most kind hearted people I have ever met! The way they treat the animals in their care is outstanding and admirable.... if you’re looking to adopt a fur baby, I highly recommend this rescue. Thank you for all you do!!!!

Had a 11:15 appointment for adoption. Contact took a dog to the vet. Talked with shelter operator some but over the next hour she spoke with others and did not come back. We left after an hour and thirty minutes. Shame it was such a sweet and freightened dogOlder shelter, dogs are clear priority, efficiency not so much

A week after putting our Rotty down, we found another one at Evelyns Place. Cant say enough good about how this rescue is managed on a limited budget and the dedicated volunteers who really care about animals matter a great deal. The animals come first with proper placement and follow-up a must. Teresa (owner) and Dana (volunteer) are tops on the chart when dealing with the welfare of animals not wanted. Every step of my dogs adoption was smooth. Highly recommend this rescue.

We found our beautiful Layla, formerly Marley, at Evelyns Place. She is sweet, energetic and loving. I thank her foster mom for caring so much about her. Thank you so much for the love and care you give these angels.

My application was reviewed and approved within 48h and I was able to come see Chiris which is the dog Id like to foster or adopt. My 1st meeting went well and Trevor who works at the rescue was awesome! He really cares about the dogs. We will be back for more meet and greet with this cute and energetic pup!

We adopted our five year old Jack Russell Terrier Charlie from Evelyn’s while attending the Duluth Wine Fest a few weeks ago. This is my second Jack Russell, first rescue and I couldn’t be happier. Wow we are so grateful she saved him from being put down! He is such an adorable dog, super affectionate, smart, full of personality and well behaved (especially for a Jack Russell). He came house broken and has never done anything naughty in the house even when left alone for several hours. He is a full fledged family member now and is flying with us to Europe for the holidays to met the rest of our family.

Wonderful rescue with dedicated folks!!Looks like somehow I gave Evelyns Place Rescue a 1 star. I do not know how this happened because this is a 5 star PLUS facility.

Evelyns Place Rescue is an amazing place to adopt your next best friend from! Teresa pours her heart and soul into this rescue and it shows! These animals are saved from high kill shelters & given a second chance on life. My family highly recommends! Its been 3 months now since I brought Cassandra home & I couldnt be happier! I spent months looking at her on PetFinder & I just knew she was the dog for me. Shes a 3 year old Boxer/Shepherd mix & the smartest dog Ive ever met! She caught on to verbal cues, like sit, stay & get in your bed, right away! Ive also taught her how to shake hands & lay down. She is the sweetest thing! Im so grateful that Evelyns Place took her in when they did & that I was able to make her mine. I paid 350.00 to adopt a puppy, it didn’t work out and I have tried repeatedly to contact them and they will not return my calls or refund my money.The owner said that my adoption fee was refunded but IT WAS NOT ! I still have the charge on my VISA, No refund was processed and she has not called or texted me! Very poor rescue, she must be too busy with her other business.

Found our family pet at an event this rescue participated in. I didnt take her home that day, but came back to visit with our whole family to make sure she was a good fit! So happy we did! She made a great addition to our family!

No communication which is very unprofessional! My 10 yr old brother was the one to find a 6 wks puppy and I sent an email and I believe we were the first ones to email our application (which is just an application consenting/signing off on policies; is not really an application asking about family info etc.)- TC Reynolds responded saying he was not ready to be seen because he was still too small. When I followed up with her TWO times the following week: no response. Not even to let us know if he was already adopted or anything. We finally found out by someone else he was already adopted and thats fine; we were mainly bothered by the lack of apathetic communication and professionalism from this place and this TC Reynolds person. These are families and children getting their hopes up one way or another feeling the possibility of adopting a pet and we go into a state of not knowing if its a yes or no not even getting an update or absolutely anything. Additionally, I dont believe this is first come first serve either because like I mentioned before, the application doesnt ask much about the family- its just initialing to their policies of adoption etc. How do they determine who is the best fit for the pet?? No questions on family or anything related is asked on the application. They must be selecting close friends or someone they know already and giving them priority. This place shouldnt be offering adoptions if they are going to be so unprofessional.

I dont know how they treat their animals, so I cant speak to that. What I do know is it was impossible to come in and look at them. Their website has no information on the actual facility and the hours on Google are wrong. My husband and I drove there to see the animals because we were seriously looking to adopt. The first time we were told to come back in the morning. When we got there the next day, we were told to call the owners to make an appointment.

My cousin works there and she was extremely helpful.

So far only three starts bc I trust rescue shelters but the other two are open bc I have yet to get a call back from them left two vm and don’t know when I’m getting a call back WOULD LOVE TO SPEAK WITH SOMEONE SOON!!!

We had a dog we were unable to keep any longer and had to find an immediate place for. Even though they were full, they made every effort possible to help us find a home for him. When they couldnt find anywhere to take him, they did some rearranging and took him anyway. I cant explain how grateful we are to the people at Evelyns Place for their compassion. Roscoe owes his life to these lovely people, and we just cant thank them enough.

Evelyns place rescue is a great place to find your furever friend. I recommend it to everyone...check them out!

They helped me rescue a ten year old Boston that was partially blind. He is by far the best dog I’ve ever had and to think he could have been euthanized without their support. Thank you!

Had been speaking with several people at this facility about adoption of a particular dog. I sent my adoption paperwork to them and was planning a trip to see the dog. This weekend i found out that they adopted the dog. Very poor communication from this rescue facility! Only reason we were looking out of state was this breed was not available locally. Again very poor communication on their part!Thks

Great place to adopt

I would not recommend this place to anyone I know. My experience with them was intrusive and disappointing I think the owner TC loves the animals tooooooo much. I am a single mother with 2 sons, no infants no toddlers. I work from home and have nothing but love and time to give a forever friend (dog). It seems if you do not know the owner or one of the volunteers or stay in Gainsville where they can easily check on you and the rescure you will not get to rescue an animal. I have always purchased my dogs from breeders and my pets have never been chained, lived outside, or abused in any way. My pets were seen by others as being human because they were so much apart of my family. The owner actually attempted to call my landlord to speak to them and insistant of a home visit even though I live an hour and a half away. 3 weeks of communication and verifications, the interview was set, I drive down and was told the pup I was coming for was adopted and hour before. No time during 3weeks of communicating was there ever a mention of another applicant for the pup. And guess what it was a volunteer that got the pup. With hundreds of thousand animals being put to sleep each year you would think rescuing a dog would not be so extensive. At this point my experience with this rescue has almost made me not want to save a pet. WORST DISSAPOINTING EXPERIENCE EVER!
