Marcus the general manager provided me with a great customer service and answered all my questions. Kyle is an awesome trainer that provided me with pertinent information in regards to what I personally needed health wise for my body and workout plan to achieve my goals. Ramon is also an amazing trainer that will push you to your limit! If you canβt handle the heat get out the kitchen! I truly believe Ramon will definitely get me to my goal quickly and effectively. The whole team gets an A+++
After I signed up online and had paid I started getting automated voice calls advertising the very thing I had already bought. Seems like poor onboarding, Will spam you to buy something youve already bought from them. The whole process seems very much figured out yourself good luck. Other gyms give you a tour explain the facility, at this gym so few words are exchanged I wasnt even sure I was done signing up.

Ive opened up two memberships here and I regret it so much. I was charged three extra months after the first time I cancelled it. It took many months to get reimbursed, and it only worked after incessant complaining.I decided to give them another chance; I made a temporary account in the summer. I cancelled my membership over half a year ago. I confirmed the cancellation with their general manager, Ben, while going two extra weeks. However, I started getting charged from December, January and February. This was so egregious as I was told that I would be given a refund after the fallacious December charge. Now, the workers are saying that I have no record of cancelling... are you serious?I have called them multiple times the last couple of days just to hear that their managers are on a lunch break. I call again two hours later to hear that they are still at lunch. I dont think an eight hour shift constitutes for a two hour lunch break. Today I was able to reach one of them, Janessa, and am told to call again tomorrow to speak with a different manager.I was told that the membership was cancelled a year ago and two times recently. All to get charged again. This is immoral practice. Therefore, I am considering a class-action lawsuit against Golds Gym Fullerton. I have already contacted another reviewer that was already in the process of doing so.

On Sunday they open at 7 AM. About 20 members woke up early to work out and were waiting in front for them to open. They werent open by 7:35 AM. So I left and went on a walk.

Iβve used 3 different gyms so far and this is by far the worst.First, they make cancellation almost impossible and continue to charge you after a year of notification of cancellation. Then they threaten you after you remove your payment information. They almost act fraudulent in how they force their members into paying and not allowing them to cancel.Second, their gyms are extra small and non of the equipment is available due to small number of them available.I would stay as far away from this place as I can. They are forcing me to cancel twice and pay an extra sum of money for months I havenβt used. And they will most likely end up charging me for an extra month on top of all other months because of 30 days notice of cancellation which I did back in February 2020.Best,A friend
I love this gym. Itβs the best one I have been to in the area. The staff is very friendly and all act like they want to be at work. The machines are all in good working order. The only downside right now is that some of the services are unavailable due to Covid, but thatβs not the gyms fault. The parking lot is huge and the hours allow for me to come to the gym almost whenever I want to. I highly recommend this location specifically.

I have been with this Gym for many years, and I was on month to month. During the Covid, I didnt go to the Gym and I replaced my creditcard. So they couldnt charge the creditcard. I though, any month to month contract, if you dont paid they automatically stop the service or you owe a fix amount. This Gym started piling up amount you owe, monthly fee, anual renew fee, late fee, for couple months, they racked up to $260, then they send to collection agent.
This is the best gym Iβve ever been to. Biggest facility, most and best quality equipment. Most friendly and knowledgeable staff who greets you by name. I wouldnβt go anywhere else. Best part is this place is super clean! There is a team going around the gym working all day so it stays even more sanitary than a hospital I would bet. Not to mention as you walk in, thereβs a table of towels and spray bottles to clean equipment before and after use. Every person in this gym wears a mask and has a towel and spray bottle with them. Iβve never seen one person not have a mask on during covid. I would recommend this gym to anybody wanting to get serious about their fitness goals.

Because the front door entrance is so heavy, I see that the front door is a struggle for many gym goers to open. I hope that Goldβs Gym spends the money to change the front door to a more lightweight one. I see people that want someone to open the door for them because itβs so heavy.

I signed up for the 3 free day guest pass (one of the more heavily advertised features on their website), and showed up to the gym. The front desk worker did not seem respectful. Another senior staff member came out and told me my pass did not work. I showed him my email confirmation and he said that feature does not work and he canβt help me.
I was considering switching to this gym. I signed up for a free 3 day trial online. I received a call from Ben Hong, the manager, he spoke with me about my goals and invited me in to use my free pass and possibly sign up. I came 4 hours later and a salesman helped me. He gave me a tour and told me the pricing. I said I would consider enrolling but I want to use the free pass for 3 days to decide if I liked it there. He said they dont allow people to use the free passes because of the disease.I immediately said Im not interested, and I walked out.

The staff are self centered and inconsiderate toward the members. They arent there for assistance; they are just there as salesmen and security. Ive had so many issues only with this location- just this Golds Gym no other location.
So I find them online, I complete the form stating I could try out the gym with a 3 day free guest pass. Then the reception girl Desiree says that is not the case eventhough it is on their website. So now I have to drive over there to have a representative sit down with me and then determine if I am eligible to work out. Sounds like the typical sales ploy to me trying to use Covid as an excuse to have someone come in and be sold by their team. They just lost a potential customer and my family.

They closer for covid and they kept charging me money while they are closed and when my card didnt work because i thought they are closed they did not even contact me to tell me that there is an isssue nor email me. Also I have contacted them and we solved the issue and I entered the gym many times most of the machines are broken already and not everyone is wearing masks. I have linda under my name who is my mum and they tried to take a payment that didnt work and they didnt contact about it and just kept taking and adding late fees without warning the customer and then i called them over 100 times to contact the manager and they tell me he will call u/email you and that never happened till they put my late fees on collections. Which was very disappointing I canβt believe that from a 38 dollars late months now they want me to pay 90 they just want money

They emailed me I had cancelled my membership. Now I have a rude customer service manager Samantha Sandoval threatening to send me to collections for past due membership fees.I explained the situation and she continued to be condescending. I explained I have a bad back and cannot workout, I only use the gym for the pool, jacuzzi and sauna. She barked at me that I would not be released from my contract unless I paid all the back fees plus a cancelation fee.So rude. And like way unprofessional.I have emailed and tried to call the general manager Ben Hong with no response.

This is a pretty good gym. The staff is very friendly, the floor is clean, and they have a spacious and decently maintained locker room with pleasant music. There are also plenty of weight and cardio equipment available which I can appreciate, as well as multiple stations with paper towels and water fountains. The one thing I dont care for particularly, and its mainly a personal preference, are the Matrix treadmills, which tend to be a little more stiff and not as pleasant to use if you are a heavier runner and appreciate good shock absorption in a treadmill.
For the dummies complaining about the mask policy....just donβt go to to that gym then....stop trying to shut stuff down because you donβt like the way itβs run. Who do you think you are
Had a good experience. Friendly staff and every weight you can imagine. Doesnt get as busy as crowded 24 hour fitness or some other gyms. They even have a mini theater that plays movies that you can rest and watch a movie on certain days. Cool environment. Only negative is lockers can get a little musky and could be cleaner but overall a nice experience.
This gym deserves ZERO stars. Forcing people to keep an active membership and pay during a pandemic is horrible. I do not feel safe working out in these conditions. Coronavirus is airborne and Iβve seen people in the gym without masks! The purpose of a gym is to improve your health, I donβt want to pay money to gamble with my health and expose myself. If I donβt feel safe, I should not be forced to pay. When I signed this contract, I didnβt expect there to be a worldwide virus outbreak, but I did expect the gym to do what they can to keep their members safe. If I could give negative review I would... I went to work out there the other day & they were spray cleaning the mats... during the day, while people were working out, chemicals in the air as we are trying to breathe deep for oxygen. While I appreciate cleanliness there is absolutely NO reason to do this during open hours. Heavily breathing in chemicals is not healthy!

First of all, lots of convenient parking. Needed to update our membership and handled quickly and friendly. Clean changing area and plenty of lockers available. Most equipment is in good working order and usually available. If not, we just move on to working on another.
This please has terrible customer service. I asked for cancel my membership since this September. However, they never cancel my membership at all. these last 3 months, Ive tried everything to cancel my membership but the manager and employees just ignore my request, email. I even left my phone number to the front but they just said they will contact me later. Now they said I have to pay for cancellation fee to cancel my membership. even though it wasnt my fault. I felt they just kind of discriminate me. I never recommend this gym.
I am constantly impressed by the customer service at this gym. These associates go above and beyond with their service. Ive been going here everyday for the past few months. They have gained me access to a cubby that I have locked myself out of, and additionally helped find my car key which fell somewhere within the premises. I have been working out in this Golds Gym for more than 2 years now, and the experience was amazing. I have Ben to be my membership advisor, and his service is outstanding. He can always find me great deals and the environment was as great as it could, clean, well-educated people were surround you, and most importantly, I like the jazz music they are playing in the background, fits greatly with my taste!
I had a year contract though I didnβt realize freezing my membership would extend it. Thatβs fine. I wasnβt told the details about freezing my membership but perhaps I shouldβve tried to seek more information on it.The main issue was the multiple charges that continued after I canceled the membership. I was not in the area for school, but my entire familyβs membership was paid under my parentβs account. She should have had complete authority to cancel a membership.The first time I tried to cancel my membership before leaving, but I was turned away as there was no manager there on the weekends. Thatβs okay.The second time, my parent went and was told theyβd cancel it. When the charge came, she came a third time where they said they now required my signature. By then, they had charged us another annual fee.They charged us 3 additional times after we were told the account was closed and I donβt include the cancellation fee. It took more time to finally get a refund. I will never go here again.

For the price your paying the service is worth it kind of. They provide towels, Sauna, steam room, showers, hot tub and pool. The back cardio room is a movie theater where you work out and watch the movie of the day. Ive been going with a friend of mine for years since he has the VIP pass. I would never pay for this mainly because I go in, work out, then get out. Dont need all that extra stuff. But some people enjoy it and I dont blame them. I love the Steam Room and Hot Tub.
Google should have two ratings per place - facilities vs admin. Bad reviews about the sales people or cancellation come from people who apparently havenβt signed up for a gym before. All gyms have high pressure sales and nightmare cancellations.About the gym itself: way above average and I wish I still lived close to it. The Cardio cinema makes time fly, eucalyptus steam room is relaxing, towels are clean and available, spinning classes deliver a good sweat, tanning booth is convenient. Some members seem to be there way too much and handle all their hygiene business there which is annoying but itβs not the gymβs fault.About the sales and billing: I read the reviews on cancelling so I tried to pay upfront without a contract since I was moving. They offered me personal training instead which would include membership. They scribbled details on a sheet, not on the screen where you sign despite the contract saying nothing the sales person scribbles on a paper is valid. I then spent $50 sending a hand delivered telegram requesting cancellation and that is how I terminated my 3 great months at Goldβs.Save yourself the curiosity if 1)you arenβt serious about working out 2)you are looking for a βdealβ, as this is not Planet Fitness. Take your time reading the contract on the screen (they dont give you a paper copy until you sign). The cancellation notice is not pro rated, allow yourself two months for cancellation.

I signed up for a one-year membership in the summer of 2016. I have been a member to several gyms in the past few years because I am always looking for a better gym. Golds Gym Fullerton is very nice and, while a little overpriced, might be worth it for some people.My issue is with the customer service. I took advantage of a free trial and signed up shortly after it ended. I decided to cancel because of some complications and did so within the 5-day window for a full refund. I even went in person to confirm the cancellation after speaking to an employee over the phone and he assured me that my membership was cancelled.Unfortunately they continued to bill me but my credit card company credited me for every transaction. Now they are attempting to collect their money through other means and it is very confusing because they confirmed my cancellation over the phone and in person. The employees are very nice but extremely aggressive when it comes to payments. I hope we can resolve it peacefully because the gym itself is not a terrible business if you are a happy member. If you want to join this gym make sure you use a credit card, read the fine print, and receive written copies.

DONT GO TO THIS GYMall this gym has done is to try to rip me off.hear me out. the first I heard of this gym. I was just trying to get a one week workout since I wasnt around school. Their staff explicitly told me that they have no way of getting me one week access. EVEN THOUGH just right behind me there is an advertising saying that you could get one week free trial. OKAY I choose to ignore that and pay the initial fee $160 for ONE MONTH. AND AFTER TWO WEEKS, I got charged $50 for the next months membership. So whatever. I let it slide. At the end of the month I called and tried to cancel the membership. They say you need 30 day prior notice. So guess what. I get to pay another $50 even though Im not in the state, and because I called after 9pm, I couldnt cancel until next day. WHICH MEANS ANOTHER $50. Then, the staff told me that theres a cancellation fee of $150.So lets see. In order for me to workout there twice. I paid 160+50+50+50+150 = $460. And the facility isnt even that nice. My schools gyms five times larger and way cleaner. I dont normally post bad reviews, but this is just ridiculous. Im surprised what people can do for money these days.
Good place to work but it is a small location so anytime after 5pm it can get CROWDED. Sometimes you end up spending most of your work out waiting for a machine to open up.
I used to enjoy this location but have recently cancelled because of the high volume of people. I signed up right when they opened several years ago. They had impeccable facilities then and cleanliness was godliness but now its just really packed all the time. The cardio equipment is starting to knock. Its just gone down hill a tad but still a nice gym.
Iβm giving Golds three stars because of the bad customer service I received. I signed up for a free trial and I didnβt even get that (might have changed my mind if I had (maybe I would have thought the gym was worth it) but who knows π€·ββοΈ) - I recently graduated and needed to find a gym before relocating end of summer. I told them my situation but they told me Iβd have to pay $90 annual fee + monthly payments. Thatβs a lot of money for only a two month membership, especially considering the annual fee for non month-to-month is at least 1/2). I asked them if there was any way they could discount it given that Id be relocating out of state and they were not willing to work with me at all. The general manager gave me a flat no followed by a βyou could workout today right now If you wantβ...Gee thanks - I mean whatβs the point - my free trial was supposed to be for 7 days... - I came in for a free trial to make a decision, and instead I got stuck on a sales situation that led to nothing. The sales guy who worked with me was very nice though- and he did try to help me but was turned down immediately by his boss. As a result, I searched several gyms and Crunch Fitness got the Win. Not only did they waive the enrollment fee for me, but they made it such that cancellation would be a breeze. I understand that all gyms have annual fees and monthly memberships tend to come with higher monthly rates, but the stark difference between annual vs monthly fee at Golds is outrageous. And the manager tried to sell me on βyou could always pay now and try to transfer your membership to someone else end of summerβ - thatβs a liability and gym memberships arenβt like apartments. Itβs not like there is a market and season to catch people for a transfer. The sell would have benefited him and put a strain on me. If I canβt find someone, guess who stuck with a large cancellation fee? Yours truly. Other than the horrible customer service on this- the gym is clean and has lots of good machines. This situation put a bad taste in my mouth though and I donβt think Iβll ever consider joining a Golds again.
Called to cancel my membership because the gyms hours dont align with my work schedule. Was informed when I called to cancel that there is a 30 day cancellation window and because I missed it by two days that I was obligated to pay them another months fees. Refused to pay for something that Im not going to be using. Now constant calls and threats to send me to collections not to mention threats to reactivate my membership and keep adding charges to my account if I dont update my billing information with them. Great way to treat people who have used your service. I wouldnt be cancelling if your gyms were open later. Not all people, especially healthcare workers work 9-5 jobs.
This review is specifically for George Constantino who works as a Trainer at this Gym and trains me. When you go to Golds Gym you are making a commitment to be serious about your fitness goals and George has helped me maximize that and many others. He really knows what is talking about and puts that extra effort for each of his clients. He isnt constantly looking at the clock to make sure once that hour is over he can get on with the rest of his work. He puts in the extra time if the session needs it at no cost and constantly pushes me to my limit.He looked at my goals and my current shape and personally created a fitness plan for me. He knows just how to push you to go that extra step, but is extremely educated and makes sure that all his fitness plans are safe. He truly believes that being healthy is important and is the best trainer I have met.He has the expertise to help unfit to very fit clients. People seem to have the stigma that personal training is only for people who are out of shape. I am in shape and wanted to take myself to the next level and George is doing that.Cant recommend him more. If you are a member of this gym and are interested in trying out personal training ask for George. It cant hurt to try out a session and I think you will be very happy for doing so. I was skeptic, but George turned that around.

I found out that I am paying too much compared with my friends. so I asked for the price adjustment and the kind of manager made me visit twice like come over this week and then he said the financial department manger is not here so come over next week. OMG! I have been visiting there like more than two weeks but i did not get a phone call from the manager which was supposed to be happen last week. Then I called him then he said that he did not sure if I can get the lower price just he let the financial part known and I deserve to make this much effort and wait to get some even not-guaranteed discount. Oh I am breathing..... I need to wait a few days more to get the final notice. This is called bossy. I dont wanna waste my time here anymore. I might cancel it. Good luck Gold Gym.
This gym is the biggest scam, they recently charged me $960 for personal training even though I havenβt been to the gym since June, I asked for my money back and I proved to them that I had the covid-19 inside their facility, still wonβt get me the $960 back, I got them my test results and a letter from my doctor and still wonβt give me my moneyI donβt recommend anyone going to this gym at all

I have been a member of other gyms in the past and Golds Fullerton, is by far, more than one could ever expect for a gym. Besides the friendly and always helpful staff, great equipment and immaculate facilities, my trainer, George Constantino is the best! I hesitated at first to even sign up for the training program; however, Mustafa couldnt have selected a better trainer for me. George brings out the best in me and the rest of his clients. One just has to observe his Turbo Time class to witness this. He is patient and encouraging, yet pushes me to levels that I could never imagine I would be able to accomplish. My training sessions are always absolutely incredible. I learn new things every single session and can feel muscles where I never knew any existed. He has a genuine desire to teach and lead his clients on their new life changing journey. I consider myself truly fortunate to learn from him. He paid me a compliment yesterday at the end of my session saying that I was a lady, but train like a beast! Ill take that! Its all because he brings it out in his clients. Jab, jab, cross, hook!
I am happy with the gym in general during the off peak times. The staff seem better. The sales and referral guys need some training but as I get my membership through my insurance it helps me avoid the nightmares that I hear from others. Some equipment is old and they tend to lock equipment so you cant use it to its full potential. The gym is cleaned daily and during the early morning I dont see any issues with smells.
Melisa and Emily are great super helpful.And always go out of their way to make sure we are doing good. Wouldnt sign up for another gym just because they are super friendly and polite.

The worst customer service when I signed up i was told I could use the InBody machine when ever I wanted to by just asking a staff member.I go in to the gym today and a staff member tells me its only for training clients so i ask for a manager and he tells no I have to make an appointment for a complementary training session which is ridiculous. He proceeds to say there is no one to do it when there is visually about 7 staff members standing or sitting around doing nothing at all but chatting among each other. The machine takes 2 minutes to use or less. This is the same manager who a year ago I had my complementary session with which was supposed to be 30 min. 10 minutes of actually trying to train me and 20 of trying to get me to sign up. Extremely irritated as I have brought in multiple people to sign up at this location which will never happen again.
Untrustworthy gym......The worst customers service ever they kept charging me the monthly payment after my one year contract finished and refused to refund me although they didnt accept to let me in after 7PM because I have not renew my contract and they wont to charge me an extra month fee as a 30 days notice although I called 3 months before my contract end to cancel and called a week before to to make sure its done and there is no more charge since I went there less than 10 times in this year because I didnt like it and I signed up again with my old gym.
If you want to enjoy a great work out and you want to shave with cold water and shower with cold water this is the gym for you Ive told the staff and the manager Dustin about the cold water problem until I was blue in the face its in one ear out other they dont care all they want is new memberships theres better gyms out there and cheaper and they have hot water I give them 1 star

I used to go to this gym when it first opened. The facilities are amazing and definitely top of the line. I currently dont exercise here just because of my schedule and personal time constraints.
I have been a member here for 5 years and have never had a problem, staff come and go, as well as members, but the experience remains uplifting,w good amenities.
βWelcome workoutβ trainer didnβt show up. Was willing to give benefit of the doubt and be understanding, but he didnβt respond to my email with a request that it be in my records I still havenβt had their workout.Called, was told the manager or head trainer or whatever would email me. Havenβt heard a word. Incredibly unprofessional and downright rude - I am embarrassed for this company, that the customer service is so slovenly. I have no respect for that.
TERRIBLE COSTUMER SERVICE..... I JUST CALLED TO GET SOME INFO ABOUT THE PROMOS AND JORGE WAS JUST ANSWERING LIKE IF HE WAS IN A HURRY... ARE YOU SERIOUS??WITH A YUP! Very rigid cancellation policy. Literally takes close to 2 months to stop payment. The 30 day notice takes effect from the date of next payment date, not from the time you notify them. Why cant they just cancel? Why do they have to charge for an extra cycle?The staff dont try to help when you have a problem... avoid calls and simply transfer you over to the general manager, who is hardly available
Clean, well run, and never a shortage of towels. Air conditioning is always working great and there are enough machines that you never have to wait more than a few minutes for one.
The worst gym I ever been to in my LIFE youβre better off going to 24 hour or plant fitness they donβt help you at all I talked almost everybody plus emails still no response from management theyβll lie to you about your membership for commission (workers) most of the front desk works help more than management .... management never call back or email If something is wrong they make it seem like itβs your fault when itβs not DONT GO TO THIS GYM .
Love this gym, machines are always working. They give you hot towels, it have a boxing ring in the middle and there is a Movie theatre you can do cardio in along with a huge amount of free weights.
SHOPPER BEWARE: This has been by far the worst experience shopping for a gym. Walked in was introduced to a rep, who was pushiest-bossiest sales rep trying to CLOSE CLOSE CLOSE with BS βpromoβ schemes, manipulating costs to get the expensive membership. Pathetic.Rep also took it further calling nonstop with texts which got really annoying. SO GLAD I found a gym less than few miles away at much better offering, no pressure, transparent pricing, easy done. DONβT GO.
Great gym, friendly staff...crew is constantly cleaning. Honestly, Ive never had any issues. I go in, do my thing and get out. I dont see where others are complaining. Its a freaking gym people..if you dont like it go outside, its free.
Gym really is nothing special. Been there for about 3 years and got used to mediocrity. Apparently if you forget your little swipe tag, they bill your account 10 bucks to use your phone number to get in. Constant attitude from workers, never met a friendly person working the front desk.I recommend going to Chuze or 24 Hour down the street. Chuze is much much cheaper, and has incredibly friendly staff. Best customer service to a gym iβve ever experienced, very clean.I will be cancelling my membership in September after my friendβs contract expires. Very disappointed with how far Golds has fallen.
This place sucks. I made an appointment with a trainer and he intentionally made it overlap with a weekly appointment he would have known about. I called about it amd left a message but he never called me back. Then I tried to call a supervisor but was told to leave a message. This is because Im transgender and Im not welcome. I suggest you also avoid this place. Trans people arent allowed and I assume women arent, either.
Would never go back again. When i left for the airforce i gave the manager my orders to cancel my membership, only he never completed the cancellation or just up & forgot. For almost 5 months went by of calling and trying to speak with him or a representative, theyd either hang up on me or keep me on hold as soon as they heard i was just trying to cancel. Even after saying im military. Thats 5 months of paying for a $30 month membership. You are thieves!
Hours didnt align with website: The website said they would be open Christmas day at 7 am. We arrived at 7:30 to find the place closed. No notice was placed on the windows or anything - they were just closed.
Charged $59.00 for the Annual Maintenance Fee on my credit card without my consent. I hate the fact that they have my credit card information and can charge whatever they want without my knowledge. I was recently charged for $59 and contacted the club. I was told that the club charges $59 for the yearly maintenance fee and I had signed for it on the stupid, what it seems like a 100 page, contract... Hate these non-transparent companies that doesnt fully explains the cost of the membership fees. Im done with this club.
Great Gym. I have had memberships to both 24 hour fitness ( 6 years) and LA Fitness (6 months)The equipment at Golds in Fullerton is the best in its class. In the other gyms I have been a member to the equipment was beat up and old. Other gyms offer lower monthly membership fees... but you get what you pay for OVERCROWDING. I would rather pay more $ and have better equipment and less crowding then to have old beat up (and alot of the time broken equipment) with endless overcrowding. If you want a cheap gym GO TO 24 hour fitness and deal with overcrowding and broken equipment. If you want lame equipment that is out dated GO TO LA Fitness. If you want a state of the art gym with less crowding GO TO GOLDS. Best gym hands down
Nice gym horrible management and workers . 3 months in a row they doubled charged me and I asked one manager after another and each just gave me the run around and said they would fix it and never did and still wonβt even though i provided bank statements. Just waiting for my membership to expire and wonβt be going back. I wouldnβt suggest anyone go .
