Went well until it didnt. My roommate/landlord needed to sell his house due to financial hardships. When I learned about his plans, I offered to buy the house as I loved the property and location. All went well until immediately before closing. At this point the lender had completely signed off on everything. Since we had been roommates for a couple of years we had decided that after closing he would rent a room from me. Upon learning that my roommates forwarding address was the same as his current address Republic Title decided that they couldnt close on the property. Apparently, there was something in the contract that stipulated that he vacate the premises. Since, he had been counting on the money from the sell to cover some upcoming payments and there wasnt enough time to close with a new title company he volunteered to rent from another friend. This still didnt satisfy Republic Title and will almost certainly cause missed/late payments that will cause very real damage. I have never left a review before, but I am seething with some serious righteous indignation right now. The whole situation and the consequences of their actions was brought to the attention of multiple employees and fell on deaf ears. Sure, this was a special situation and you probably wont encounter any issues, but consider supporting a title company that is staffed by people that you can work with when things go wrong.

The Colberg Team is absolutely the best in town hands down. I’ve closed many deals with them and I’ve never had to worry about a single thing when I have their help.They CLOSE and close on TIME! I recently had a deal that the other party just HAD to have their title company working on the file. They claimed they work with investors all the time and have seen every issue there is and never had any problems closing. Well folks, let’s just say that said company didn’t get the job done and they were the reason we didn’t close on time. The Colberg Team stepped up when I needed them too and never questioned it. They untangled some hard knots, cleaned up the biggest mess from the “Investor friendly Title Company” and closed this deal in a week. They work harder then anyone I know!! I’m so lucky to have them in my corner while representing my clients. Saying thank you is not enough because they deserve a trophy for being the rock stars they are!

Very unhelpful people lacking basic human decency, and unwilling to work with you and guide you through the closing process. Youll be hit with a dealbreaker on closing day. They are unapologetic and unashamed. Republic Title will not be receiving any business of mine or my peers for any potential real estate investments in the future.
