I went in to inquire about an apartment. Me being a single woman living by myself I asked about limits on pets. Which I totally understand weight limits. But the manager told me, “Just get rid of your dog and you can surely get a unit here.”First off how rude. He then went on about how he loves his dogs this and that. I asked how he’d feel if someone told him to get rid of his dog and he replied with “upset”. To which I walked and told him I’ll go elsewhere. I found a bigger place for the same price and nicer.

Current resident. We absolutely adore this apartment complex. We have lived her just over a year and adore it. The complex is very family oriented and kid friendly. The office staff is above and beyond excellent!! They are friendly, professional, attentive and genuinely care of about the complex community.

I moved in November and I havent had any issues. Management has changed so the last manager that had issues is no longer here. Yes its an older property, the price is fitting to the area and affordable. Keep in mind they run a matrix depending on time of year and based on that determines your rent. Most complexes use that system as well. Personally do not mind outside cats, they keep the rats away. With that being said I have literally seen 2 cats the whole time Ive lived here. The office staff and maintenance crew are nice and again never had an issue. As far as going through trash, most people dont even know how to get the trash in the dumpster, so these poor guys are picking up trash, stomping it down to fit, and then having to clean after pickup. Plus people throw away couches, tables, mattresses, toys I mean if its good some people might be in real need.

I have lived here for almost 3 years during that time Ms.Layla (Im very sorry if I spelt that wrong) the office manager has been nothing but a joy to speak with. They have been timely and responsive to all maintenance requests and have on multiple occasions worked to make me feel at home while living here. They are pet friendly and by far my best experience with a apartment complex ever.

Worst apartments I’ve ever lived in!! Why pay pest control fees if they never get rid of any pests?Nonstop silverfish issue that ruined a ton of expensive clothes, not to mention the roaches I would find crawling around. Yet somehow, they still feel justified on raising rent each time renewal comes around.

Lived here for over 3 years. Nice people in the office, and my appointment was great, especially for the price. Maintenance people were always nice and fixed any problems promptly. They’ve also improved the property multiple times since I moved in.

Moved in with my bf in November of last year. Immediately started having Severe allergies. It being a new part of town I thought maybe it would’ve been the trees in the area. I continue to take my normal allergy medicine and it did not work. Eventually I started having shortness of breath and thought I had Covid. I tested negative for it. Soon after returning home from the hospital me and my boyfriend discovered that there was a mold problem. The management was responsive at first and they came and they had their people clean up the mold with bleach which I also told them I am allergic to. The mold kept coming back and spreading to new areas of our apartment. Managment then said they would clean the vents. It only seem to make matters worse. Not only did the management tell me that they can only clean it with bleach but that if I couldn’t see the mold then there wasn’t a problem. Also I was told that my allergies were due to my ESA cat that I had for 7 years. For the mold only continue to get worse it made my fruits and vegetables go bad and it made my breathing even worse. The mold started making me have a skin condition on my body that I had to go to the dermatologist for. She prescribed me a regular cream but because the irritants are so prevalent in the area in which I live I was not recovering and needed an extra antibiotic on top of the cream. I went and stayed at my aunts for a week for a little vacation and came back to mold everywhere in my apartment. As soon as I walk through the door, it smelled so bad like old musty moldy things. I’m now at the point where I have to leave my apt and stay in a hotel. The apartments do not care and they have not even offered to help us besides coming in cleaning it with bleach. They refuse to believe that there could be mold behind the walls. It’s funny because the office in the maintenance man say two different things. The maintenance people ask us where we keep our Aceon and that we’re not allowed to open our windows because it will cause mold. The only time we’ve ever opened our windows was to air it out when it smells really badly of mold. It’s unfortunate because the prices are really great for the most part. During Covid everyone being home made the overall amount go up for rent. In all honesty I feel like the management knows that they’re in the wrong because they said that they would allow us to move out before I lease was up without any penalty. Do not move here they don’t care about you. All they care about is your money. If you don’t like what the property manager has to say there isn’t even a corporate number that you can call. The washer and dryer’s on site barely work and the system being used to pay rent online has been scammed so many times that I’ve had to change my credit card three times. If the mold wasn’t enough for you to stay away I don’t know what will be.

Ive been living here for about a year and I have never had any issues. Office staff is courteous and maintenance staff is always on point. Any time Ive had to call in a maintenance request they have quickly and efficiently fixed the issue. They are updating the complex which is awesome. Even the laundry center is pretty well kept. Neighbors are all pretty quiet. Oh! And the squirrels! Lots of squirrels! Bottom line, great place to live.

Moved here after Harvey. We had moved back to help out daughter and granddaughter but their house got flooded and we had to move out while it was being renovated. Had some qualms about moving here based on some of the reviews. Met with management and toured apartments and decided to give it a try.Apartment was clean, recently updated and spacious. Price was very competitive with other properties of similar location, size, etc. Management (Lela and Randy) are friendly, helpful and always ready to address any issues we had. Maintenance staff have been outstanding. They have been prompt in addressing any maintenance issues and are friendly and helpful. We have usually gotten same day response to issues unless they had to order parts. We have read some of the negative reviews and dont recognize the place these folks are describing. We have been very happy with Salem Square and would highly recommend it.

I have lived here going on 3 years. At first really didnt mind it. As time has passed seems like we are getting less and less and rent is getting higher and higher. We no longer have trash pick up. There are cats on the grounds everywhere. People are always out late drinking and being loud. They say we can store anything on our front patio but yet have no where else to store things. The washer and dryers are community use and half of them dont work or take your money. I get home late from work and my A/c is out in the middle of July and who ever closed from the night before forgot to forward the answering machine to their night service. Needless to say I went all night without A/C. It was 85 degrees with my 2 small children. I called the next morning and said that they dont let their maintenance men work on A/C units at night. So I asked what I was supposed to do. Go to a hotel and give them the bill. The lady didnt even care. She told me that A/C issues are not an emergency its in your lease. ARE YOU SERIOUS! I HAVE 2 SMALL KIDS. They apparently dont care about their residence. They recently had a sprinkler system put in. Dont understand the reason behind that the grass has never been dead and seems just like a complete waste of money. They recently had our apartments painted and looks horrible on the stair railing. Its all chipped. My apartment numbers are still messed up on my door even after I told them. Dropped my rent off on time and still send me a late fee charge. They told me they would have my carpet cleaned after I signed for my second year lease. Well going on 3 years now and it still have never been cleaned. Needlessly to say. Im over my experience of living at these apartments.

WARNING!! SCAM!! DO NOT MOVE HERE!!! Moved out after my year lease ended and paid all bills due, only to have them send me a bill to forwarding address stating I didn’t give them enough notice, and charged me over $1600!!! They’re threatening to put it on my credit if I don’t pay it!! If you move you you will regret it more than you would ever imagine!!!

I moved here 2 years ago and absolutely love this place! The management staff is legitimately jovial and neighborly.Extremely quiet area with lots of beautiful trees to enjoy my favorite leisurely past time, squirrel watching. Most of the squirrels living here are well disposed and I spend many of afternoons sitting in the grass and enjoying the company of my little furry friend, except for Bill, Bill is kind of a jerk. Bill is the only squirrel who will not let me feed him. He just sits and stares at me with his fault-finding gaze. All the rest of the gang will take seeds from my hand, run around and leap from tree to tree. Not Bill, he is the most unforthcoming squirrel Ive ever had the displeasure of knowing. Dont be like Bill.

They put in cameras around the property. At first it seemed great but then as residents we realized the cameras arent for security or safety of the residents, it was to watch the residents. Why wouldnt they install cameras to watch the parking lot where thefts have occurred? They are watching the pool area only.

These apartments do not have up to date wiring,, you can’t get accurate electric bills, they were installing washer and dryers, with not the proper wiring or license people, the maintenance men that have been there a while, look through your trash, and I was told one of them was a felon, he drives a white police car, and when he gets mad at people on the road he pretends to be a cop, and turns his police lights on, it should be against the law to do this, that guy lives on the oroperty, and he never gets in trouble by the friendswood police because they think he’s a under cover police, the Hispanic lady in the office don’t trust her, has protected these people on the property, she allows certain criminal activity, she will get caught soon, she purposely wants to do things to certain people on the property, the office people use to pocket all the money from the wash room

Moved here a couple months ago, and I love my beautiful apartment. I had visited a friend years ago who lived in the complex, and liked it then, so when I decided to move back to Friendswood after being away for about 7 years, I wanted to live here. It is beautiful and very well run and consequently I was on a waiting list for a few months before one of their one bedroom apartments was available to rent. I am thankful to the manager Ms. Lela who notified me of the availability. It was worth the wait. The apartment had been totally redone with new flooring, gorgeous kitchen, and immaculately painted throughout. The large front window makes the apartment light and bright and provides light for my houseplants I brought with me.The apartment is pet friendly, I have a cat, and Duchess the chihuahua who loves to go to their dog park every day.Friendswood is one of the safest cities in the United States, and this is a small safe apartment complex. It is quiet and very well run. The parents who live here seem very responsible, and so far every child I have seen has been polite and well behaved. The school busses come right to the front of the complex. A nice plus is that some local grocery stores will deliver groceries right to your door.My beautiful grand baby stays with me for a day sometimes and she loves the apartment playground. The playground equipment is safe and in good repair. She is not yet old enough to swim but there are two nice pools in the complex. The management, Ms. Lela and Randy, are wonderful as are the handymen who mostly live on site. They are all friendly, hard working, and approachable and are extremely helpful in quickly resolving any issues. It is obvious that the happiness and safety of the tenants is a priority here. The rent is reasonable and one can pay rent online. All of the amenities and the reasonable rent together are why there is sometimes a waiting list, some tenants have been here for 15 or 20 years. I am myself planning to stay indefinitely. I highly recommend this clean, beautiful apartment complex as a family friendly, child friendly, pet friendly home in one of the safest cities anywhere.

This is my home. I havent lived here in 15 yrs, however, this is where I grew up and was raised. Miss Helen was the manager then, and she was more than accommodating for my family. She worked with us and for us. Living here wasnt just a place with an address, it was a home; where people cared for you and pulled together to take care of eachother. We cant control the actions of others or the problems that come to us, but living here definitely made life sweeter. I have so many wonderful memories of my childhood bc of living here. Without the Salem Square community, there would be no sweet memories of running with the other kids, or getting to go swimming ALL the time, or going caroling at Christmas. The families here became my family. It always will have my heart. ♡

I have lived in Salem Square Apartments for 2 years, I use to LOVE it here! It was safe, affordable, and in a amazing location. We loved our old landlord Helen, even those she was a little silly, she did get the job done. Over the past 6 months or so we gotten a new Manger, I believe her name is Lela. She is absolutely the worst landlord I have ever seen. She does not care about the residents what’s so ever. Only about pinching every penny out of each resident as she can.I had 2 issues while living there. The first about a dog that was unsafe to the community, which she did take care of. The second about parking, when I went to speak to her about it she brushed me off saying “ I have already fixed one problem for you, I’m not going to help you with another.” Umm hello, that’s your JOB!!Besides that, when my husband and I first moved in we were paying an affordable $730 a month, over the past 2 years it has gone up to $835 for a small 1 bedroom, that is nothing special. We planned on living there for a couple more years, but unfortunately we decided to leave because Lela. We are about the 5th or 6th resident to move out over a very short period of time due to her. I do not recommend anyone moving there because she is going to rob you blind.
