I always come to this Hertz. They really try to go above and beyond for you! Omar was great. He was able to get me a decent rental car for the rate the insurance company was reimbursing me. I am beyond pleased.
Ok when I took the car back I forgot my Gucci bag in the trunk I’m a jeweler and completely forgot I left it back there but I was back there 1st thing in the morning the next day as soon I explained that I forgot my bag I was told by the person there that they didn’t open the truck and that someone rented the car but it had a oil leak which I found wired and he went into detail on what was wrong with the car which I also found wired. I’m pretty sure all cars trunks have to be clean and searched I left my number and I had to call back and was told by the manager that the car was taken to pep boy, where I went and the bag wasn’t there so I called back and was told there nothing else that can be done and was denied contact for the managers manager his reason was because I was going to be told the same this is a inside job I was also told that the cameras don’t work and the other worker said that he doesn’t think the person who rented took it??? What? So then who took it? This needs to be investigated by hertz higher up and I want to press chargers if it was a inside job. If I could leave a zero I would
I always rent vehicles with hertz they are the best every single time!! Joe and Terrel are my absolute favorites they are all very kind and super helpful. This location is always so efficient with everything they do. Always a pleasure seeing these guys I would recommend this location to everyone!!! This Freeport location never disappoints!!!
Please beware with this company. They will scam you. We rented a car while mine was getting repaired my insurance company paid them in full. A day later we get charged hundred of dollars supposedly for extra charges,what extra charges if everything has been paid by my insurance. THIS COMPANY IS unprofessional they have a bunch of clowns working for this company I will report this as a fraud because they are not suppose to charge my card without my consent. The only reason we left the card was because they supposed to require in case of an accident or damage to the rental car not so they can steal from you.

Rented here 3 times in the last couple months. Long wait time. Limited staff. Disorganized. Cars not carefully cleaned.Staff is polite but not customer centric.Been waiting for approximately 45 mins this time. When I inquired was told the car is being picked up from pep boys for servicing. Who’s in charge??? Fit it!!
Excellent service! After receiving inconsiderate and extremely poor service from the Babylon location (I made a reservation over 24hrs in advance and was told they were out of cars), I called this location about 30mins before they were set to close and Tyrell was a lifesaver. I had to attend to a family emergency and although there werent any of the specific vehicle that I requested originally, he assured me hed honor my reservation there and get me into a vehicle. I arrived literally a minute before closing and still I didnt feel rushed or anything. The process was quick and stress free and I was able to be with my family. I highly recommend this location! The other gentleman that worked alongside Tytrll was excellent as well, I just wasnt able to catch his name.
Overall a great experience from the gentlemen at this location. Joe, Terrel and Eddie are phenomenal at their jobs. They always make sure my car is ready for my arrival. During the holiday season is rough, but they always come through.

BEWARE...DIRTY CAR...SCAM..POOR SERVICEdont use this location for rental even if they are giving you a discountWhy?1-Car which I booked was not there.2- Offered me an upgrade for a bigger car that was dirty and 42$ extra per day. They did not even bother to check it.(I had to take it)3-returned car and ask them to check the fuel level and got a reply that they are busy. Will send the contract.4- charged 157$ for fuel.5- I called immediately that this is too much and I was told that it’s okay about fuel levelThay (Joe) said the contract is closed and we can not do anything.6- when I asked Joe for his full name he refused to tell me.this is my first time using Hertz and they charged me more than 157$ for Gas service. Make sure dont leave the location even if they are saying its okay and will send you the receipt. Wait till they inspect the car and close the contract.Or I would say use Enterprise.
Reserved a 9am pick up. Nobody at the office still at 9:30, 4 others waiting besides myself. Place seems understaffed.
My husband rented a car from here in March and returned it the next day before the 24hrs was up, he put yhe key in the return box by the camera and they charged his card hundreds of dollars!! Everytime he calls they give him the run around. Recently someone stating that they were from Hertz said that he would be getting a full refund and to give the credit card # he did and immediately called his card company to tell them what had been going on, hours later someone tried to make a purchase for 200 in Connecticut. Do not rent from this company please do your research especially on social media. They are scaming alot of people out of their money. I would give them 0 stars if I could. This company needs to be put out of business!!! 😡😡😡😡

This location does not inform customers accurate information and the end result the customer is left paying more money. I would not recommend this location or any Hertz location. Beware and dont let your insurance send you there to rent a car.

Last week I Rented a car the car was ready when I got there the customer service representatives by the name Eddie gave some tabulis service I actually enjoy his customer service the car was amazing spotless I didnt believe what I Have seen after reading those reviewsAs of my opinion all those reviews which theyre right that the cars are there he I think theyre Just hatingIve been renting cars for over 20 years my 1st time in this location it was an amazing Experience.

Drop off was fine . Car pick-up was a disaster. Hertz was at the Scranton Wilkes Barre Airport. No signs to indicate to where to go finally directed to go to counter inside . I was pre registered and still took half an hour to get keys.Told the car was a suv Ford Focus went to the indicated location a Jeep was in that spot went back inside told the agent misspoke..Leaving to drop off the car at the location indicated received a phone call telling me that the drop off location given to me was incorrect.The gentleman at the drop off location was very professional if not the rating would have been a one.

RENTER BEWARE!!!!My daughter rented a car from this location while her car was being repaired at a local collision shop. She brought her car to the shop and left with a Hertz rental. We have rental insurance as part of our auto insurance that covers $50/day. Knowing this they put her into a rental car...great. She was approved by our insurance company for the car from the time she dropped her own car off until she picked her own car up, which was 14 days. Six weeks after that, Hertz charged my AMEX for an extra day because they are claiming that we had the car for 15 days (the collision place where we picked the car up and dropped it off says we had it for 14 days). They also stated that the $50 that they got from my insurance company did not cover the whole rental because the car she got rents for 42 and change PLUS tax and fees and charged my card an additional $23. When the collision shop initially spoke to the manager and then the regional manager, she was told that they would issue a refund. Today (3 weeks after her conversation with them), she was told that they can’t refund the money because the account is already closed out! THEY ARE INCOMPETENT AND RIPPING OFF CONSUMERS!
Maya was very polite and helpful,as was her co-worker. I got a nice car to rent that was clean and ready to hit the road. They were thorough in taking pictures and made sure I got a good deal.
While the staff was very friendly and as accommodating as they could be, I was disappointed by the fact that I could not use a debit card for my auto rental reservation. Unfortunately, I did not have sufficient available credit to reserve the car, although I had plenty of money in my account and could have paid for it easily even having them hold the money in advance. I dont understand why this is their policy. The one thing the staff member did not do is attempt to ask corporate if there was a solution. I was turned away and forced to go to a different rental company.

I recently had the WORST experience here at Hertz!!! Where do I begin. I rented a car here through insurance back in July. I was given a 2017 Toyota Camry, which was great. A few weeks later my husband went back to get another vehicle under the insurance and we were given a 2017 Chevy Impala. When it came time to give back the vehichle I noticed I was charged an ADDITIONAL $66.75, when i called Hertz they referred me to tolls & red lights department. I was told the vehicle I rented went through 66.75 worth of tolls. During the hours it is stated I did this either my husband was at work or I was at work. They required I ONLY submit receipts to show I was no where near these tolls, however as previously stated we were working not shopping. When asked if we could submit letters from our offices we were told NO. Receipts only!! I decided I had to begin my own investigations. The bottom line is NYC tolls department only call and tell HERTZ that ONE of their vehicles went through tolls. It DOES NOT GIVE THE EXACT CAR!!! However HERTZ will apply whatever car they deem necessary and it is very hard to prove otherwise. They are full of scams in there and I will never return.

As always Scott Stack, Manager, at the Freeport location provides superb service. He is always quick, responsive and thorough in the best selection of a vehicle for me and my family. Several times I have had to travel with a disabled relative, and Scott always accommodates us with the highest quality and reliability in vehicles. If there is a snafu, he always more than makes up for it. Besides this location being close to home the friendly service is bar none! Even if it werent close, Id still rent from here.
Had a pick up today and when we arrivedThere were know one there period. Us and another man was out here waiting for someone to open the door. The sign said servicing another customer however why is there only 1 person working in this building . This is unacceptable. We will never use this company again, Enterprise is where we will be going. This Hertz in Freeport is unstaffed and unprofessional. I will be contacting BBB as well

I had an Hit & Run accident to my 2016 Honda Pilot and took my car to Atlantic Auto Body in Freeport to get it repaired. While I was there with my wife and 4 year old daughter we had to rent a car which Atlantic Auto Body is affiliated with Hertz in Freeport. Atlantic Auto Body rents cars from Hertz directly to their customers with Hertz contracts in AABs office. Now with all the chaos of trying to sign documents and having a 4 year old daughter whos hungry, parents with children understand, I asked the secretary Lauren from AAB before I signed the contract whats the total I would be paying before the 80% that my insurance company takes out per day and she told me I wouldnt be paying more than $30 per day. So I figured it would cost us around $6 a day. I checked all the boxes she told me to sign not realizing it was extra coverage that my insurance company doesnt cover. So we rented a Nissan Sentra Black they had in the lot which was that or another car which didnt work for us having a child. The car first of all wreaked of Marajuana which we didnt think would linger the whole time we had the car. I complained to Hertz but never exchanged the car cause we didnt have time to. So after 25 days that our Honda Pilot was being repaired we finally got our car back. Next thing you know, Hertz withdraws $880.79 out of my checking account. That was xmas money that I had saved. So I called Hertz, Atlantic Auto Body and my insurance company to see if I could get my money back. After 2 weeks of waiting I got a call from Scott from Hertz saying there was nothing he can do since I initialed for the extra coverage which I didnt know State Farm doesnt cover. So I got screwed. I will never rent a car from Hertz nor will my family and friends. Also Atlantic Auto Body shouldnt be filling out Hertz Rent a car forms at their office. I got screwed from Hertz in Freeport so beware. They take your money and run. Yes, I know I signed my intials on the contract boxes but I was misinformed. Thanks to Lauren at Atlantic Auto Body in Freeport.

Even though I asked about it.The employee said they would be closed but they have a 24 hour return.They charged me for 2 extra days rental!!!I didnt find out until I checked my credit card statement.Dishonest business practises.I wont be renting from Hertz anywhere again.
