I tend to bounce around salons but after my experience with Mary at Six East I know Ill go back to her next time I need a cut!After more than a year without a haircut it was great to be able to get an appointment quickly once I decided to take the plunge. The facility was clean and I appreciated that everyone was fastidious about safety measures, it made it easy to relax. Mary listened to me and gave me the haircut Id been dreaming of- Im still obsessed with it more than a week later.

Everyone there took really good care of me. I got a great cut and I plan to come back.

I had the best experience!! Like most people, I was nervous about trying a new salon but as soon as I walked in the door my fears were put at ease. The staff was welcoming and extremely friendly. My stylist was Marcee and she was amazing. She listened to what I wanted and she definitely delivered!! I have found my new salon and would highly recommend them to anyone looking for a fantastic salon!!

This was the first time I had been to a salon since everything shut down for COVID. I was happily surprised to see all of the safety precautions taken such as the one way entrance and exit, masks and face shields on the staff members, temperatures taken before entering, and extensive cleaning of all work areas and equipment in between clients. The staff was professional and courteous and I received and exceptional haircut and color. I would highly recommend this salon and will definitely be coming back.

Mary has been my stylist for a while now and I finally decided to make a huge change going back to a pixie cut while also getting a really bold color. She made a custom purple color for me which I can only describe as ultraviolet, and it turned out AMAZING! Ive always really liked the Salon but this was the first time I did something really different from my usual and Mary did a great job with the cut and color! I love it!

I like the experience of a no tip salon as I always worried what was an appropriate tip. Roxane is an incredible stylist and well worth the extra cost. Her excellent cut just prior to our Covid lockdown let me look great on all those Zoom meetings for months. They took great care with Covid spread prevention techniques upon reopening. Mary does wonders with taming my bushy eyebrows.

One of the best experiences Ive had at a salon in Frederick.The cost is comparable to other downtown salons. COVID protocols are impressive and communicated well. Staff were incredibly kind and reassuring in regard to safety -- its clear that they care. Im really pleased with the services I received and will return. Love the cut and color! I have been bouncing around from salon to salon for the last several years trying to find the perfect stylist who cuts my hair in just the right way, is easy to chat with and who talks to me about what products and tools would work best with my hair without being overly pushy. I didnt think it was possible but I finally found her! Marcee was amazing, she was easy to talk to, understood everything I wanted and cut my hair exactly how I like it. She told me which products she used and asked me which ones I was using without feeling pressured to purchase them. My hair was silky smooth and I got so many compliments on it. I had no wait time when I arrived, they adhered to covid protocols which made me feel safe and valued as a customer and had massaging shampoo seats! Definitely the best salon experience Ive had in a while and I will be coming back to Marcee for all my future hair needs. I was beginning to think Id have to settle for mediocre hair cut experiences forever, but I am thrilled the search is over! Thank you Marcee!

I absolutely love this salon!! I’ve been getting my haircut here for many years and absolutely love that they always stay on top of the latest hairstyle trends. The salon is very clean and they have done a great job with COVID protocols. I would HIGHLY recommend this salon to anyone who would love to try a new place!

Loved this place! Theyre right across the street from a parking garage entrance.The front staff are super nice!Ive only had Marcee as my stylist and had the best experience. She listened, asked questions, checked that I was okay with the cut before starting, and answered my questions.The price was about average for a womans cut. Styling is extra. They have nice smelling products they use and sell on location. Theres no pressure to buy which is always appreciated. I was already interested, so I got some to try to help keep my hair healthy, feeling fancy, and smelling great.The whole place was doing a great job of following safety protocols. They sanitize right after you get up from that fancy massage chair and every product thats been touched at the front, when checking out. Theres an upstairs for the other part of the salon (facials) that I didnt get to see, but thats fine; I only came for my hair.I would recommend this place and go back.

Paid nearly $200 for girlfriend, and thought it looked the same. Used 2 ex wife spending that kind of money, but at least hair looked better afterwards. So disappointed. Looked like chunky highlights. Wanted hair to be blend with the rest. Didnt get her roots at all. Look like took ponytail in bleach.I wont pay again for that. Might as well went to hair cutlery or some place like that.Just wanted her hair blended and so disappointed.

Great haircut and service. They had great precautions for COVID-19, but I was still able to chat with the hair stylist. I got my hair washed and cut and I was done within 30 minutes! My hair is wavy/curly and Kerry did a great job bringing out the curls! The salon was a lot more fancy than I expected with massage chairs where you get your hair washed and warmed towels. It was a very relaxing and fun cut and I definitely recommend it.Side note: they do not accept tips, so the prices listed online are high, but the tip is built in to that.

I am super fussy about my hair..& should not brag about that! Worth mentioning because I have been to Six East 4 ( yes, four) times..and shall continue..if they will have me! Have been to several high-end salons in the area..Six East..THE BEST! Thank you, Kerry!

Very impressed with Covid precautions, yet still relaxing atmosphere. I can admit I was scared and a little confused at first, but after figuring out the correct way to enter I could see why. Kerri is amazing at doing exactly what I need and I love her attention to detail. My first time in a salon since March, but this salon kept the experience while implementing precautions.

Uneven haircut. Someone from the salon did call and offered to make it better, but I declined. It should be right the first time paying $70 for a hair cut.

These folks just dont have a heart. The haircuts are fine and the price was just a little over average for the area, but the convenience made it worthwhile for me because I live so close. However, they still charged me the cancellation fee when I unexpectedly had to bury my father and couldnt commit to rescheduling that week. Im taking my business to someplace that cares - and frankly gives better haircuts!

Just had a cut and highlights done by Kerry and I cannot recommend her or Six East Salon enough! This was my first time at the salon and I had a very enjoyable experience. They made the hair cut and color process during recovery phase efficient, easy, and helpful. The whole salon was clean and I felt very safe. Kerry helped me achieve the look I wanted and I am so happy with the results!!

I cannot say enough good things about Six East Salon! It has an awesome vibe. Everyone is so friendly, and they make you feel welcome. The staff really knows how to make the clients feel comfortable, and they take all the time necessary to understand what you want and need. Kerry is a magician when it comes to cutting hair. I have curly hair and it is hard to find someone who knows how to cut and style curly hair. Now, not only does my hair look great curly, it also looks great when I dry it straight. Kerry did an amazing job coloring my hair and gave me the best looking highlights I have ever had! You can park in the Church Street garage and just walk across the street to the salon. I have tried quite a few salons in Frederick, and this one is the best by far.

Highly recommend! Excellent cut, fabulous service, plus theyre being super-safe with COVID precautions. Wonderful experience all around and Ill definitely be back.

Charming salon, very friendly and helpful, great location across from a parking garage in interesting historical center of Frederick. I had color, cut, and blow dry with Marcee who is a gifted stylist. A relaxing and renewing experience!

I have very thick and wavy hair which fears most hair dressers so they are only willing to cut small layers but leave it long. Kerry finally gave me the shorter hair style I have been wanting for so long! She is professional, explains every step and knows exactly what she is doing. All the other staff is extremely friendly as well!

I went to Six East this past Saturday for the first time and was thoroughly impressed with the salon and staff. Kerry did a great job on my cut and color! The salon itself is beautiful in a historic building with a rich history which the team shared with me during my welcome tour. The shampoo chair reclines with a foot rest and massage capabilities for a thoroughly relaxing experience. As a Mom to a toddler that was a much needed moment of relaxation! The lighting is natural and not harsh which is a huge plus when getting color done. Not to mention its nice not to stare at myself under fluorescent lights which show every imperfection. Overall, they made a great first impression and I will be back. I definitely would recommend checking them out!

First time going here and I look and feel amazing thanks to Mary!!!! She took time to talk to me about what I wanted and did not disappoint at all! I’m 45 years old and have never once had a hairstylist cut it how I wanted it. Mary is the first hairstylist who got it exactly right and she’s such a sweet person on top of that. Prices are completely worth it. The whole staff made me feel welcomed and important. The environment is warm and inviting. Beautiful murals throughout the spa and salon. Thank you all so much I will be back !!!

I have been here several times which speaks volumes since usually get a haircut wherever will take me when I need one!The salon is tipless which I appreciate. Prices are higher but you know your stylist is making a steady wage. They have massaging chairs for thier hair wash station!!!!!Mary now cuts my hair, two family members, and one of my employees hair. She really does a great job.

My sisters and I, from out of town, had a wedding near Frederick and booked hair and makeup before the event at Six East Hair Salon. The professionals at Six East were exceptional!! They were extremely customer focused in trying to understand what each of us wanted to achieve in our visit. The further complication of the day was that the wedding was to be held outdoors, and it was 90 degrees and very humid. I was so extremely pleased with my hair style and makeup done in the afternoon, but most especially impressed with how well both remained impeccable throughout the hot and humid outdoors wedding and reception throughout the evening! All my respect and gratitude to the highly professional hair and makeup salon, Six East Hair Salon in the historic center of Frederick, MD.

Great place, service and ambiance. It was my first time and had haircut and color done by Kerry. She took care of my hair without using harsh chemicals. Love my new hair style and this will be my go to salon from now on.

This past week, I took my daughter downtown for lunch and we went to Juliette’s. Great place to grab a bite. We were across the street from this salon. There was a lady outside of the salon yelling on the phone and smoking a cigarette. I could see her name tag and noticed she worked at that salon. She walks across the street and continues towards where my daughter and I are sitting outside of Juliette’s. I asked her to please smoke somewhere else not directly behind where my daughter was sitting considering the fact my daughter has asthma. This lady was nasty back to me and I ended up ending our lunch short to go back to the car to take her elsewhere to enjoy our mommy daughter day. I’ve never been to this salon but if all there employees are like that, I would never go there or even recommend anyone to go there.

Mary gave me a fresh new style which made me really appreciate my hair again, and getting so many compliments- it makes me smile! :D The whole staff seems so passionate about each individual client, I strongly recommend anyone looking for a stylist or just thinking about a change, do yourself a favor and go see the team at six east! Kerry is extremely knowledgeableProfessional, used equipment new to me which shortens time in the chair. The entire staff was able to answer all my questions & some I didnt realize I had. QUALITY salon!

I had a wonderful experience today with Mary. She did a fantastic color job. The entire salon is relaxed and calming. I love the welcoming atmosphere and the fact that Mary listened to what I wanted. She even gave me advice and walked me through keeping the color longer as well as styling tips!

I found Six East 4 years ago and have never gone anywhere else since. It’s always been difficult to find someone who can cut and style my thick Latina hair, but my stylist really knows how to take care of it. The staff is great, the parking garage right across the street is convenient, and the no tipping policy helps me budget everything out easily. They even do free bang trims! Love this place.

I adore this salon! The staff are professional and talented; Id never settled on a single person I wanted doing my hair before coming here, but after meeting Mary, my whole world changed. Shes done my hair for the past several months and she always gets it perfect! And its not just the stylists that are amazing: the front desk worker Devin is professional and friendly, and the esthetician CJ simply works magic! My skin glowed after a session with CJ. I always leave here with my favorite hair. Ive been getting my hair cut by Scott for years and I am never disappointed. He is very skilled, quick, consistent, and wonderful to speak with. While I have not used any of the spa services, the salon facility is adorable, trendy, and clean - I am looking forward to coming back and trying the other services they offer soon.

Just had my second facial with Debra at Six East Salon... I was in heaven. So much attention to detail and such a gentle touch. LOVE 6 East Salon. I went to the same hair dresser for 20 years before moving to Maryland. It was traumatic to think about finding a new stylist but 6 East was an answer to prayer! Kristen is my go-to girl but I would highly recommend any of the stylists. The salon is welcoming, cozy, and always a wonderful experience. Have been a customer for 2 years now (as of 2016) and plan on being a customer for life!

If you want anything unique done to your hair dont come here. They do not have any experience in color. HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE. Christine who usually does my hair, did the opposite of what I had asked and I even showed pictures of. I was charged $300 for a hair cut and color that was not what I wanted and hated. I spoke to one owner who was disrespectful and money oriented. This salon doesnt care about you but only your money. When asked to do a redo they made it even worse, while charging me more. HORRIBLE PLACE. A salon should treat there customers first and not disregard them as a person. Btw Ive been a client for a year and Ive never been treated so badly by any other salon in Frederick.

I then meet up with karrie n showed her what I wanted from a pic I downloaded on Google.... she took her time analysis what she had to work with n did THE MOST AMAZING JOB I TRULY RECOMMEND HER . I just got my haircut by Brittianie, she friendly. For someone that is just starting out she did super. The salon made me feel like a queen very luxurious, for its located and what it contains. I will be going back although I live 1hr away.(I only got the haircut not the color.)

I have been coming here for about a year. Kristen is magnificent! I was growing out my hair and when it hits that awkward, I cant do anything with it stage, Kristen was able to provide enough adjustment to keep my hair looking great without me wanting to take scissors to it myself.

I have made my hair appointment MY day! I walk into the shop and am greeted like family. The staff is friendly and helpful, from Roxanne Pugh, my stylist, (FANTASTIC!!!) to the lady who waxes my eyebrows. Everything from mani and pedi- treatments, facials, make-up, and massage is available. I love it and can easily recommend them to YOU!

Ashley did a great job cutting my hair, fixed a bad job done at Neutre. She asked lots of questions, made helpful suggestions, and explained to me what she was doing as she worked. Definitely will be getting future haircuts with her!

Just had my hair done here today. Had multiple layers of previous color on my hair and was looking for the ombre balayage blonde highlights. Roxanne did the color and my trim. I couldnt be happier with the results! I brought in pictures of the color I wanted and she nailed it. The experience was fantastic, the salon environment was upscale and Roxanne was so warm and easy to talk to. Will definitely be back! Highly recommended.

This salon is staffed by super friendly people, and is a beautiful building. Parking is conveniently across the street (parking garage). I see Beth, and she is fantastic! She has fixed the color on my hair from when I had an old box color, and now she keeps my ombre purple ends looking great. Ive had several other people rinse and shampoo me, and theyve all been great. I never get a wet shirt here. I had never heard of the Ombre products they have, but Ive enjoyed every time theyve used them. They smell amazing! Ive bought the de-tangler, and it works miracles. Overall, this is a great salon.
