Great staff! Very helpful over the phone and in person. A/C was on point in the cardio section. Quality gym inspiration as well.

Staff is friendly! They were very helpful. The environment is nice and theres a lot of space. It was my first time so I didnt know I had amenities to take advantage of but the front was top notch and took care of me.

I sent in a letter to get my account canceled in early June. July rolls around, and I get charged 40 dollars. I go to my club on July 3rd and ask why my membership hasnt been canceled yet. They apologize, tell me someone mustve thrown out my letter, and that theyd cancel it immediately. I tell them its no problem, but that I want my refund since it was their error. They agreed and told me the manager would have no problem doing that. Boy, were they wrong. I called the club for the manager to be completely unprofessional. When he wasnt busy calling me a liar, he was interrupting me, telling me how he cant give refunds with no proof--even though his team acknowledged fault. This club has no accountability and will steal any dollar they can get from you. Maybe other Planet Fitness are better, but definitely dont go to this one.

I love that its 24/7 its clean and well maintained. I like the staff, they are friendly and helpful. The amenities are awesome and I enjoy the vibe of the place its very welcoming and nonjudgemental.

I canceled my membership because PF is now requiring members to wear a mask *while working out*, in direct contradiction to the World Health Organizations guidelines. This is dangerous and ill advised. Distancing and mask-wearing while walking between machines was quite sufficient.Update 12/9/20: Id like to respond to the statements by the Planet Fitness representative.1. I am not aware of any change made to state or local guidelines since Governor Hogan himself issued the following statement to clarify mask usage in gyms: if youre engaged in heavy aerobic exercise where a mask might genuinely impede your breathing, you dont need a mask. If there has been some very recent change, please do cite your sources or provide a link.2. If PF wanted to make its own rule regarding masks, thats fine, but communicate the change to members. Coming to the gym only to find the rules had changed was a waste of time. Emails should have been sent out.3. The WHO (World Health Organization) advises: People should NOT wear masks when exercising as masks may reduce the ability to breathe comfortably. Sweat can make the mask become wet more quickly which makes it difficult to breathe and promotes the growth of microorganisms. The important preventive measure during exercise is to maintain physical distance of at least one meter from others..That measure was already met when PF took every other cardio machine out of service and spaced the weight machines more widely.

Less than impressed with this location. Two different staff gave different information and seem less than knowledgeable about services. My home PF is a smaller, newer location with incredibly friendly staff (Baltimore). This location is lacking medicine balls and other small equipment - I did see that in a review, but figured I’d give it a try. I may try other locations if needed, but will skip this location in the future.

I love planet fitness because they are convenient and always open. Exactly what I need to workout at 3:30 am.

I have been working out at planet fitness for a while now and i have nothing but good things to say about this center. The staff is always very welcoming and willing to help in any way possible. They are regularly cleaning machines and equipments just to make sure members are comfortable when working out. I appreciate their hard work and friendliness

Worst planet fitness I have ever been to. They are rude, the equipment is outdated, and they wouldnt allow my 14 year old in because she had a middle school ID instead of a high school ID. Which should be expected because...*gasp*...she is in middle school. The insanely maintained covid restrictions are the literal icing on the cake with this place. If I didnt regularly frequent different, more professional PF locations, and had to base my entire opinion of the corporation based on this location, I would give up my very long term membership and go to a different gym. All in all, avoid this location unless you have no choice.

My first day back to working out, and I never been to PF, so I decided to give a try. I had pleasant experience for my first time. The staff was very helpful. The massage chair and the hydro massager was wonderful.Still too early to judge, but my first impression is excellent. The gym is also very clean. I only gave it 4 stars because today was my first day visiting. I may alter my review as time goes by.

This gym waited until 8/1/20 to make a policy change requiring masks at all times, even while working out. Prior to this, masks were only required in the lobby area. If you were on a treadmill actively working out, the mask was not required. Running on a treadmill while wearing a mask is just not safe. Good amounts of oxygen are necessary for sustained physical activity. This meant that it was time to cancel my membership because I simply cant get a good workout when I cant get enough air. I noticed shortly after this that they had charged the $39 annual membership charge which normally withdraws on the first of the month. They waited until the first of the month so that they could charge the $39 before people had a chance to cancel their memberships due to the policy change. This was a very dishonest technique to get money out of people. I just spent 3 hours on the phone trying to get my money back, but they refuse to refund it. Dont ever give this place your card or bank info. Pay cash or dont sign up.

Enjoy getting my workout in everyday here. Equipment could be better with more variety and a few free-bar bench press stands.

I was very leary going back to the gym during COVID but after gaining back 30lbs I knew I had to. Very impressed with the way they are keeping things clean. I see them with my own eyes spraying down the equipment frequently. Thank you for peace of mind during my workout

I was very pleased with my tour and tour guide, Isaiah. He was very knowledgeable, and patient with all my questions. The facility is clean, and everyone there seemed to be following Covid-19 protocols. Also really happy with all the amenities the club and my membership offer.

The gym is great, but some of their staff is rude. I called to ask a couple questions to see which membership benefits me the most and the guy who answered sounded very bored. He got to the point where I was trying to explain something and he said is there anything else I can help you with? (Basically cutting me off) and in a rude tone and before I said no thank you he hung up. Very rude. Will no longer be joining your gym. I can always go to LA fitness.

The Frederick PF location has a top notch staff (management & assistant manager) work phenomenally well together. Staff below the management are always smiling & willing to help members. This PF location has the BEST PERSONAL TRAINER (Rodney) any gym could offer its clients; he’s very pleasant & available to all members; he very knowledgeable about his job as a Personal Trainer, is extremely inspiring & sincerely a cares about every individual he works w/ or who participates in the classes he/PF offers on a daily basis. We couldn’t ask for a better Personal Trainer.

Mask wearing policy during strenuous exercise is inconsistent. My spouses gym and my girlfriends gym dont require it during aerobic activity. Why Planet Fitness? This is especially annoying since the machines are spaced out--the masks are redundant and make breathing difficult. What if someone passes out on a tread mill?

I have been to many locations but by far this one is the best. I came in on a Monday morning and was greeted by this young man ( l believe De’Kendal was his name) he was very nice and was smiling. Very welcoming smile. He did a great job explaining the gym and all the great things they had to offer. The gym itself was very clean. The black card spa is amazing. Definitely will go back to sign up.

Great staff that is always ready to help and answer questions. Facility is always clean. Equipment is in great shape. Locker hinges could use replacing as they pop off easily, but I havent gone without a locker yet.

When covid19 first hit i tried to communicate that I wanted to cancel my membership. I was unable to get ahold of anyone at that time. I left a voice mail telling them that I wanted to cancel and was not charged anymore. I thought they had canceled because I was not charged anymore, but today I was notified from my bank that I was charged for membership. I called and told them that I tried to get ahold of them but couldnt get anyone. I told them I left voice mail and they told me they dont cancel that way. Well if you dont answer the phone and the gyms closed, how else could I cancel my membership? I found out they have been charging me since July and im currently waiting on manager to contact me for refund. I completely understand its hard times and will remove this review if Im refunded. Communication is very important.

Only joined this gym...maybe..1 1/2 weeks ago, so far i like it overall, staff is very nice, BUT, i would think after becoming a new member you would get someone emailing or asking if they could help, show you around, get some info about classes or fitness instructors and/or fitness training, they get you in then just let you go, i would be interested in a trainer that is FREE for joining to get me started :) or someone checking in, asking how its going etc., letting you try the tanning or massage facilities or showing you around so you are at least familiar with it....if i managed there i might want to so that new members would be encouraged to upgrade...just saying

I have the 10.00 membership and love it. I dont feel guilty if I cant come exercise every day. I dont feel pressured or judged. This is a real nice Gym. It feels like everyone here has the same goal, which is to get fit. I love it so far

You cant beat the price of $21/mo getting you unlimited work outs and tanning and being able to bring a friend if you like! The club is always clean, in the locker rooms and out around the equipment and the people are down to earth and always friendly and helpful! Plus there is tons of equipment options so no matter what machine you like, they have it!

It’s a good place but when the equipment is out of order such as the bikes they are out of order for far too long plus there is not enough of them! Also make sure the toilets are flushing properly daily.

It doesnt matter if you are a fitness buff or just getting back into shape. This is the right gym for you. I have visited a variety of hours and times and there are always a lot of people there but always open machines. Everything is clean and well maintained. I was lucky to join during the year-end special, so it was $99 for the year. I only with there was a second trainer or even a pay option for a trainer as our trainer is always busy.

As the facility is currently undergoing some renovations (as has been for some time now), its hard to give a positive review. I understand renovations take a while but with the exception of the flooring and the new lockers lining the walls, I havent seen any other major improvements. I have the Black Card, which allows me to travel to other locations and I have seen more equipment in smaller locations. Id much rather see the upgrades to some of the machines (like getting some rowing machines!). And the classes that are offered need their own space. How can we stretch in the STRETCHING area if there are classes there at the same peak time?

First gym membership Ive had. Truly enjoy working out here. Love the space and options available for my workouts. Plus they have tanning and massage chairs that just make it work it even if you dont feel like working out all the time. Glad I decided to get a membership here!

Overall I enjoy this location, but in the summer it’s pretty miserable. It’s so hot and stuffy it’s hard to breathe in there. They need better ventilation and air conditioning. You’re better off working out outside even when it’s over 90 degrees because it will still feel better than inside here.

Love it here. Perfect for me. I love the 30 minute workout section when Im in a rush, but still need a good workout. And love the red light therapy. Over the years Ive been at this gym Ive really noticed the cellulite on the back of my legs go down and it really helps keep my acne tamed. Really, Really works!!!

The staff is always so friendly and welcoming. Management is always present and available when I have questions. I love it! I even upgraded to the black card membership after Nathan’s amazing tour of the spa.

Visually saw the general manager berate one of his employees because she had a difficult customer on the phone and asked for assistance. some coaching needs to be done with the GM who was not only rude to us for visiting from another location but also rude to his employees for no reason. if you are going to talk down to your employees at least have the decency to do it off of the floor out of sight of customers. that poor girl did not deserve the rudeness and attitude she was being given by her general manager.

Good for what they are. If you lift heavy (free weights) its probably not the place for you, but for accessory work you cant beat the price. They probably need to buy some short stirrup handles for the cables or Im gonna lose it next time I have to try and untie the long ones though

Our experience at this gym has been really great. The staff are consistently welcoming, friendly and helpful. We got the upgraded membership because we enjoy the massage beds and chairs. Good mix of clientele.

Nice and clean. Staff is nice. Rodney has been very friendly and helpful. Music is a little loud (most people have earbuds and I have to turn mine up to lessen the PF music).

For the price and what Planet Fitness delivers you can’t beat it anywhere else. If you’re looking for deadlift and squat racks this location doesn’t have it, you’ll want a Gold’s Gym or something else.This location has been going through a lot of renovations over the last year and they still are as of this review, so be prepared to not have restrooms or showers.Overall this location has a great selection of equipment. This specific gym however has pretty poor airflow so during the summer it gets quite hot and humid inside.

I love this gym! The new manager, Allison, is always so lovely. I feel very comfortable while working out and really enjoy working with the trainer. Group classes are so encouraging! I cant say enough about my positive experiences here. 10/10 would recommend all of my friends.

Im not a fit person, I mostly use the treadmills and a few other things, but the staff is always really nice, the place is always clean. I often go late at night, so its nice to always have staff around. Ive been going for a few months now, and so far, no complaints!

You get what you pay for, so its important to provide accurate feedback. Other than a period of about 4 weeks when renovation caused some disruption (especially in the locker room areas), my club in west Frederick has provided everything they promised for my membership fee: they are always open, the facilities are clean, people are well-behaved (no bullying), and they have enough equipment that I never have to wait or cut my workout short. I have yet to encounter equipment failure that created a backlog situation - even though some of the stationary bikes sometimes fail. The renovation looks upgraded the looks - nice bright ceiling tiles and new floor coverings. Im happy and cant see a reason to pay a lot more. They are what they promised to be.

There is probably one staff member at this location that is friendly. The rest of them dont even speak to you, they just hold up the PF key chain reader while they continue their conversation with their co-workers. Thats what I really do not like about this gym. Granted, I am not here to make friends with the staff, but it would be nice if we were greeted as if we mattered. Its sad.I do enjoy the new equipment that they have placed in the gym; this was long overdue, and am excited that they finally decided to upgrade the flooring. I anticipate that it will be beautiful once it is complete, since they had to extend their closed time one additional day.The one thing that I dont understand is why they dont have a scale. If they do, I have no idea where it would be. There certainly isnt one in the womens locker room that I have seen.I believe that the staff needs an overhaul. When I joined over a year ago, I suppose I should have been aware of this, since I was not given a tour, shown how to use the machines, or even shown where the changing room was. Ill keep coming though, because Golds is just too expensive. But Golds has PF beat when it comes to patronizing their customers. I suppose that you really do get what you pay for. I would have given 4-5 stars outside of this issue.

I have a regular gym that I am happy with I joined planet fitness really for a place to tan and do cardio a couple times a week I also like to use the Hydro beds all in all $22 a month for unlimited tanning isnt a bad deal. I really like the new upgraded tanning beds hopefully the staff can get on the clients about cleaning up the beds after using them and maybe have the staff clean each bed once every shift just to keep everything healthy and clean.

Love love love planet fitness. I go 3 to 5 times per week. The atmosphere is great, easy going, no one is paying any attention to what other people are doing, people are very friendly. I also love the total body enhancement, and they just got new hydrotherapy beds, which work like magic on a sore back. One of my best investments and the cheapest price I have ever paid for a gym. Unlike anytime fitness, there is no pressure to see go up for expensive personal training (there it is FREE), and actually ample lockers, toilets, and clean showers. Amazing deal!

I’ve been coming to this location for a couple of years, and I’m so impressed with my experience absolutely every time. The staff are terrific from management to trainers to general staff. They know my name and make me feel welcome and cared about (and I care about them, too!) The facility has plenty of equipment, it is clean and spacious, easy parking if you aren’t as local as I am, and you can do your laundry next door, hit up Aldi on your way out, or grab some seriously amazing El Salvadoran food at Eden in the same shopping center after your work out. Absolutely highly recommend this gym, which also has really affordable plans (even the Black Card which I have that gives access to the massage tables and other special services and also allows you to use any Planet Fitness anywhere at no extra charge.)

This place is dirty, it stinks, and is generally a dungeon. Since I joined a few months back, it has been under construction the entire time. Nothing Like getting up at 4am, driving to the gym, getting there and seeing it is shut down for repairs. Got a notification like 5 hours later- would have been helpful last night... Place is a straight up dump

For $10 I guess you really cant ask for much but their equipment is outdated. They dont have any free weights except for a couple dumbbell racks. There seems to be no ventilation in the locker room / bathroom and their water fountains are awful.

Perfectly serviceable gym EXCEPT its kept at a temperature roughly equivalent to the surface of the sun. I (try) to use this place to run when the weather is horrible or in winter when days are short. Maybe they dont realize people get hot when working out? Maybe they dont know how to adjust a thermostat? Maybe they think if they crank the heat people still think theyre working out harder than they are and leave sooner? Beats me but the temperature is unbearable. Maybe whoever from PF is commenting on these reviews should have the manager look at them instead of telling people to go talk to a manager next time theyre there.🙄

Frederick Planet Fitness was renovated in 2018. The locker room looks a lot better. I may take a shower at the gym one day. They have more staff and everyone is friendly.

Very nice staff and gym. I had to cancel my membership due to moving to school and I had no problems doing it! Once I’m done with school, I’ll definitely will be back!
