I can’t say enough good things about my experience here. The staff were so professional and so cognizant of those of us on a budget. They made sure I got the best care for my dog while staying where I was comfortable with pricing. Additionally I was in a time crunch to leave by a certain time and the staff went above and beyond to take care of me and my dog as quickly as possible. The staff were so knowledgeable and willing to help. I highly recommend!

If you can at all wait, do NOT go here. This weekend, our cat started acting strangely. Vet wasn’t open so we took him here. They immediately brought him back and said his body temp was super low, and they were warming him up. Bloodwork and x-Ray- then the vet said she thought there was a 90% chance his bladder had exploded. Then she said he tested negative for bobcat fever, and then came back and said he was positive bobcat fever. She said it was terminal and he would be dead within a few days, and it would be best to get super expensive treatment there or euthanize him. They said death from this fever would be horrid and very painful. We took him home. Next day, acting normal. Took him to our (reputable) vet today to be retested. What do you know? Negative for bobcat fever. He isn’t dying. His blood cells were a bit off, but he is not terminal and will be fine. We almost euthanized a healthy 4 year old cat because of these people!!! Get a second opinion if you must go here but avoid if all possible!!! By the way, bobcat fever gives cats a high temp, not low, so they need to get their story straight if they continue to hastily diagnose animals and tell people their pet is dying!

I will start by saying I am not a customer here, but I did have a good experience. My pet needed to be sent to a specialist doctor and my doctor sent paperwork to Blue Pearl. I was contacted on Saturday which was good as I was anxious to make an appointment, I didn’t expect to hear anything until the following week. I needed a quick turn around but I would be unable to get in before I left town for several weeks and of course I was disappointed. The girl who helped me went out of her way to offer me another solution and found a blue Pearl about 3 hours away from my second home. She gave me their contact info and offered to forward my paperwork to them so I could get my pet treated while I was out of town. I truly appreciated her finding a solution to this problem for my family. So while I am not a customer I do appreciate this hospital and appreciate the care I was given despite not having even gone there. Thank you.

My toy poodle Henry had to be transferred here from another blue pearl and the staff were great. The vet explained to me in detail what was going on with Henry and about his condition, pulmonary contusion. She also gave me detailed advise to help him heal properly and even look care of my mental needs with my anxiety and stress. They did not try to take advantage of me with their prices and even offered to monitor him instead of sticking him in the oxygen tank right away since he seemed to be doing a lot better after the first day at another blue pearl. I can’t thank them enough for their professionalism, care, understanding and kindness and the care to me and my baby Henry. I recommend blue pearl to anyone with emergency needs and they will take the best of care of your babies. Thank you all so much and God Bless

We’ve had to use Blue Pearl’s services 4 or 5 times over the last 10 years. Each time they have been amazingly attentive and quick, while also very reasonably priced considering the services they provide, and the amount of staff needed to run an operation like they have. Last night, our dog needed immediate care again from Dr. Noel, and everything went just as well as it has before. We’re lucky to have a place like this so close to home.

I rarely leave reviews but I can’t say enough good things about the Blue Pearl Franklin staff. My 12 year old cat was in congestive heart failure when I rushed him to them and they immediately rushed him back and after a short time the doctor spent a good 30 minutes with me explaining a plan. He ended up staying with them for 2 nights and the 3 doctors I talked to were all so amazing and patient and informative as I had a lot of questions. I called to check on him a few times and the care staff all knew him and provided detailed info about how he was doing. He made it through and stabilized and we now have a solid maintenance plan to keep him with me as long as possible. It was hit or miss for a while and I am forever grateful to the staff for keeping him alive and well cared for.

PLEASE READ AND LEARN FROM MY EXPERIENCE WITH BLUE PEARL EMERGENCY PET/FRANKLINLESSON 1. I chose BLUE PEARL FRANKLIN believing it was the best, top-notch emergency pet facility around. I blindly took them to be the “gold standard” in emergency pet medicine.Buttercup ultimately died from undiagnosed brain trauma as she was at high risk due to the nature of her injuries that was not even mentioned as a possibility upon her initial treatment there for over 4 hours. I know NOW that brain injury is highly probable and should be highly suspected and observed for after a coyote attack. Buttercup was sent home 4 hours after her initial treatment from Blue Pearl/Franklin and per discharge instructions I was to expect her to be “sedate” after a pain injection. I perceived her at home, post discharge behavior as “acceptable” because of this statement and given the fact she was acting lethargic at home before even being evaluated at BLUE PEARL/FRANKLIN there was not a drastic change in her behavior from when I brought her in until discharge. I thought the pain medicine was working and she was undoubtedly exhausted from escaping the clutches of a coyote. Yes, she did have more visible, injuries she was treated for but her number one medical problem she died from at my local vets 15 hours later was brain trauma from the attack. This brain trauma wasn’t even on my “radar” so to speak because it was NEVER mentioned by the vet as a possibility at ALL. Never heard the term “brain trauma” as a risk factor - not verbally discussed or not even made aware of on written discharge instructions.LESSON 2: Don’t let an “ER tech” give you advice on your pets condition as I made a very unwise decision based on the nice ER techs wrong advice the next morning when I called Blue Pearl/Franklin concerning Buttercups condition. Also, never let a receptionist dictate who you should talk to. If your pets injuries are serious DEMAND to talk to someone with an actual medical degree.LESSON 3: You are your pets number one advocate! You know your pet’s normal behavior and past history better than anyone. You as an owner have very valuable insight and intuition all trained medical personal should use to their advantage in their assessment. One would presume a veterinarian would know most wounded animals in a clinical setting could have surges of adrenaline making them behave differently and take that into account and ask owners pertinent questions regarding their usual personality etc. My revelation is now to make sure the vet knows how the animal was behaving right BEFORE you brought them in for urgent care. These assessment skills are key and crucial in some cases. Apparently, Buttercup had a rush of adrenaline upon exam and she was described as “alert and bright” and other wording implied that she was physically strong. Buttercup was very lethargic and not walking at home actually “melting in the carpet” and I informed everyone I spoke to at BLUE PEARL/FRANKLIN about this behavior, but NO ONE wrote this down or thought it apparently important.LESSON 4: Never underestimate your instincts/gut feeling about your injured pet. The fact that the vet was describing my cat as “alert and bright” and implying she was strong even when I verbally said the polar opposite should have been a red flag to me that the vets assessment of Buttercup was drastically off. The only thing stressed to me upon discharge was her eye injury; again NO mention that she was at a high risk for brain trauma given the origin of her injuries.

Not sure about these negative reviews, but my 8 year old pug suffered a collapsed larynx and was in life threatened shape. We were referred to BluePearl who did not mince words or sugar coat the risk to benefit ratio of the emergency surgeries she would need. I was very scared to go through with the surgery but we really had no other choice. Fast forward 7 months, my pug not only made it through the surgery but her quality of life has 100% changed even from before she ever suffered the collapse. These people do thankless work sometimes, and it hurts to not be able to save every pet absolutely but they absolutely try their best and I owe them the world.

My story is a unique one. MJ my 11.5 year old Rottweiler was not feeling well, we made an appointment with Out West, located in Conway Arkansas. During his appointment they did x-rays & a full panel of blood work. They found an infection and mass on his spleen or liver. MJ has AFIB (a heart condition) since he was 5 his cardiologist sees him once a year for a EKG. Out West suggested getting an EKG done with his cardiologist. Getting an appointment with one here in Arkansas was weeks out and months out. The closest CVCA was in Louisville, KY. MJ and I left the next morning for CVCA, picked Mom up in Nashville. Took about 9 hours to get to CVCA. We went through CVCAs emergency room, Blue Pearl. They were AMAZING! They got us in, got the EKG done, to rule out his heart as an issue with this infection. The next plan of action that they suggested was for us to get an abdominal ultra sound in Nashville, to see where the mass was located. We were headed back to moms house to rest. Time was against us due to the Holiday weekend. First thing Saturday morning, my mother and I started calling emergency vets to see if we could get MJ in for an ultra sound. We ended up having to wait until Tuesday to get MJ seen. We ended up showing up at 0730 at Blue Pearl in Franklin, TN. The front desk staff was great! However my issue is Mrs. Rice, the vet that came in and saw MJ and I. She wanted a brief history of MJ. I explained what was going on and why we needed the ultra sound. After she heard MJs history, she slid me a paper that she wanted me to sign to agree to the fees. She wanted to charge $200.00 to sedate MJ for an ultra sound, plus the visit and the charge of the ultra sound.. I explained to Mrs. Rice that MJ does not need to be sedated, he is a Rottweiler but he is not mean. She explained that signing the paper does not mean I am agreeing to sedating MJ. However when I read the first paragraph, thats exactly what it said. I was authorizing them to sedate my dog. She went back and fourth with me, walked out of the room and sent a technician to speak with me in reference to letting them charge me for something my dog did not need. I explained that I have no problem paying the fees, however I am not signing a paper that clearly says I allow you to sedate MJ. I crossed through the paragraph and noted, They needed to call his owner if he was giving them issues performing the ultra sound, before they sedate him. We left the room to wait in the waiting area. After they completed the ultra sound, without sedating MJ. Mrs. Rice wanted to go over the results. This was the heart breaking part. Mrs. Rice was so negative! She said the mass was located on his spleen, the size of it was 5.3X3.8 and their was a 66% chance that it could be cancer. If it is cancer he will only have 3 to 6 months to live. She said that I have to take into consideration, their will be a blood transfusion involved, its a major surgery, hes an old dog, you have to consider how much chemo therapy will be a monthly. I was devastated! She had NOTHING POSITIVE to say to me about MJ. I paid my bill, received copies of the ultra sound, headed back to Little Rock the next morning. I spoke to my vet at outwest, Dr. Karen. I gave her the results, she said they will do the surgery to remove his spleen and mass on Friday. I explained what Mrs. Rice said to me about MJ. Dr. Karen said the surgery is not complicated, it will take about 25 min to perform it, we wont need a blood transfusion and MJ will be just fine! My mom and I took MJ to outwest Friday morning. We sat with him until his surgery. They took his spleen and the mass out. MJ recovered very quickly with no issues! We received the results of the mass, which were benign!! My vet at OUTWEST in Conway, was so supportive and very positive. Before surgery she gathered us all and said a prayer for him. Mrs. Rice needs to get a heart and remember why she became a vet!! If you need a CARING VET that remembers WHY they became a VET go to OUTWEST in CONWAY Arkansas! Its worth it!

Do not come here if you want your pet to be seen and taken care of! Came here for my puppy who was in excruciating pain trying to have a bowel movement and they took 2 hours to tell me her vitals when they told me it’d be 10 minutes. Kept telling me she’s next she’s next and then another 2 hours goes by and still nothing. Every time I asked for an update they made me feel so unwelcomed and acted like my pet isn’t a priority. Could hear my puppy crying in the back as she was not being attended too. Absolutely the worst place I have ever gone too and I will never come back. I understand that there are more animals and worse cases, but come on guys. And still another 2 hours goes by and nothing! Finally threatened to take my dog elsewhere and they finally pulled me into a room saying how “concerned they are”. Well maybe if you got to her on time and helped her and did your job it wouldn’t have gotten to the worse case scenario. This is the most careless vet. All they want is your dollar and to not help your pet. This place a literal joke. In total I there for 5+ hours and nothing but the short end of the stick is what my puppy and I got. I have had several dogs with Cushings Disease, chronic pancreatitis, etc., so I was frustrated when I last visited Blue Pearl Franklin with Cassie, who had a fever and acted like she was in pain, because I got another lecture (from a new veterinarian) on what the pancreas is, where it is located, etc. Trust me, at this point I could probably teach a course on the pancreas, the enzymes it produces, pancreatitis, etc. So when their emailed evaluation request came, I was less than complimentary because I was so frustrated (because after all the tests, imaging, and a stay at the clinic on an IV, my poor little girl came home without the fever, but with diarrhea and was still miserable). There never seemed to be an explanation for what was going on (pancreatic enzyme levels seemed relatively normal), but I treated her as though she was having pancreatitis and GI upset--and she slowly got better. What happened is still a mystery. To be fair, those things do happen, and dogs cant tell us where it hurts. Sometimes theres no easy answer, and sometimes theres no answer at all.Having said that, I also have to say that it was one of only 2 times over MANY years that Ive been disappointed after visiting this clinic and its wonderful staff--and trust me, Im a regular there. Theyve been there time after time when I needed help for one of my dogs, many of whom have been rescued from puppy mills and started out with at least one strike against them, health-wise.I have a special place in my heart for Dr. Waugh and her team, Dr. Lucas, and for wonderful Kelcey Lee Russell, all of whom have been so kind and gone above and beyond in their care for my dogs--and their kindness to me when I really needed it.My brother died shortly after he lost his Great Dane, Sadie, to lymphoma--and I will never forget the kindness the staff at Blue Pearl, and Dr. Lucas and her team, in particular, showed to him and to Sadie. He was disabled after an accident, and when Sadie had a major diarrhea episode in his SUV on the way to the clinic, the Blue Pearl staff thoroughly cleaned it up for him and carried Sadie into the clinic for him. They could not have been kinder, and Sadie could not have received better care. She lived longer than I would have imagined, since she was already an old dog when she was diagnosed with lymphoma. So, please remember as you read the reviews that everything at Blue Pearl isnt going to be perfect every time, and people do have bad days--but overall I think its a wonderful clinic/hospital with a wonderful staff, and Im so thankful theyre there to help.

Things did not go well from returning the call to set up the appointment to the managers response. We were surprised by a lack of inaccuracies and communication all throughout our experience. Our pet was referred for a sonogram. At the end of the visit we were told that we didnt need to take notes as an email would arrive with in a few hours with details for care. We did not receive it until 2 days later, left with trying to remember what we were supposed to do. Once receiving the email / report it had the name of our pet as well as a pet we dont have. It listed medical information of our pet but also of a pet we dont have. When I replied to the email asking for clarity since it is obviously been a mix up between the two pets we received no response. I waited a few days and called to inquire and was told that the email isnt monitored well because they are busy. We then got a corrected report and they had changed all the names to our pet, however the inaccuracies in the medical information was still there. I called to speak to the manager and no one knew when she would be in the office so I left a message. Two weeks later she returned my call, listened to my concerns and asked what I wanted to fix this moving forward. I wanted the blood work cost removed from my bill as I had no idea if that blood work was from my pet or the other pet. She called me back the following week after speaking with Dr. Waugh and said they were confident that the blood work was from our pet. While Im glad they are confident I, on the other hand, am not. There were so many inaccuracies in that report I have no way of knowing if it is from my pet or not. They offered to refund the consultation fee but not the blood work. On the Blue Pearl website it states It’s our goal to uphold BluePearl’s mission through best-in-class customer service for our valued clients. They totally missed the mark and might want to change their goal to we will try to get things right the first time and do everything we can to make it right as so our customers arent felt alone and more concerned about their pets after coming to see us than before.

I felt that I had a amiable conversation with the specialist to begin with, when we declined the endoscope procedure, we never talked again. Our 10 year old + rescue dog has gone through a lot, the thought of anesthesia and internal probing seemed cruel, knowing that the outcome of the tests may verify their findings would be stressful surgery. Surgery would be tough and at what outcome? I feel that we then got the push to get her out of the hospital. At almost $3K, two days later, we picked her up in the parking lot with her backside full of urine-feces with the tech saying shes still leaking. We cleaned her up and so far it does not appear she was leaking. It appears that she was lying in her excrement in the $115 day accommodations.

TL;DR: Do not ever, ever take your animal to this vet. Theyll charge you a million dollars, tell you nothing, perform procedures without permission, and threaten your job.We were sent to Blue Pearl by our regular vet because he didnt have the right equipment to test our cats liver. Our cat had been lethargic and dazed and our regular vet had found some sort of elevated liver numbers, but he couldnt figure out exactly what was going on.Blue Pearl quoted us at almost $3000. I was terrified for my cats health, so I pulled the trigger and let them do what they wanted to do. Turns out giving them free reign was a mistake. Sure, they did the tests our vet wanted them to do. However, they also charged us outrageous prices for pretty simple things. For example, they charged us $200 for a vitamin shot. The quote included $800 for miscellaneous procedures, but at the end of the day we paid right at $2000.Even better, they couldnt give us a real diagnosis. They said it could maybe be a food allergy. Thats it. Thats all they told us. It gets better.A few weeks later, we found tapeworms in our cats stool. He didnt have fleas, we didnt have fleas in our apartment, and the cat hadnt been anywhere except for the vet. He spent the night at Blue Pearl. We called to ask if they could prescribe a dewormer, since the cat had likely come into contact with fleas when he spent the night. The woman on the phone laughed at us, asked if we knew where tapeworms came from, and asked for our employer so that she could call them and do this to you. We were threatened over a request for dewormer. Also, they apparently put an electric collar on our cat without our permission. So theres that.Edit: At no point did we provide authorization for an electric collar. Neither I nor my partner ever suggested that our primary vet was treating our cat for fleas and tapeworms. We didnt have fleas or tapeworms until visiting Blue Pearl. Im uncertain as to where the miscommunication occurred, but I still would not recommend Blue Pearl to anyone unless it were the last possible option.

On our vets recommendation after a biopsy, we chose to consult with Blue Pearls oncologist for our much loved 17 yo pup. From check-in to discharge, the entire staff was sweet, caring and empathetic. The oncologist brought in both the radiologist and surgeon to brainstorm options, presenting us with compassionate yet objective choices. Unfortunately, all were very risky and provided only short-term solutions, and we have made the difficult choice for quality of life over quantity. I appreciate the honesty, compassion and sincerity particularly in a difficult time for our family.

Blue pearl performed spinal surgery on our French bulldog 3 months ago to the cost of 8k when we received her back she still had no function in her legs but we did the surgery because we were told it was necessary and they confirmed the bulging disc via ct scan. After heavy rehab she slowly regained the sensation in her legs and acupuncture therapy we got the dog walking again until yesterday when she was shivering and no longer walking but still had sensitivity in her paws. Blue pearl then recommended another 8 k surgery because of her spine, the thing is this time they didn’t do a X-ray or ct scan to confirm the diagnosis surgery was needed and couldn’t tell me which vertebrae was the one damaged. Just that we needed to do another surgery......... how would you know that surgery is needed if you haven’t even looked at the spine via ct or MRI? That’s like an auto mechanic telling you you need a new engine without starting the car to diagnose. They then suggested that we surrender our Dog to someone that WOULD do the surgery! Are they serious, after we JUST spent $8k on spinal surgery with them 3 months ago?? Unbelievable. Do yourself a favor away from this money grab of a place and go to NVS.

Took my cat here on an urgent matter from my regular vet. They didn’t do ANYTHING my vet requested they do. This is utterly ridiculous. Even my regular vet is extremely frustrated. Wasted time and a lot of money for NOTHING. Amazing that this place is supposed to be a specialty vet. They shouldn’t even be allowed to walk a dog, let alone work on any animal.

Due to the fact that they are one of the very few emergency vets open after regular vet hours coupled with the fact that the doctors expertise is top notch, I continue to bring my animals to Blue Pearl in the event of an emergency. However, their customer service is terrible. Ive experienced a handful of bad customer service run-ins here but Ill write about the most recent. After waiting very patiently for 5 hours with no real help, I told them I would like to take my dog home. I waited longer and realized they forgot about me, then they proceeded to ignore me (they looked straight at me standing in the cold at the COVID gate and continued chatting with each other for a period of time), THEN had the nerve to yell at me when I walked up to the door to get their attention. I explained my frustration and she jumped straight to well, we will check you out. I had not seen my animal in hours nor talked to a vet about anything. I was appalled. If I could avoid this place, I would. Sadly, they deliver a service that is rare elsewhere in times when you need them most. And even more sadly, they know this fact and couldnt care less about your actual experience.

Extremely disappointed and frustrated with how disorganized this place was. Weeks ago, my vet sent a referral to this location in regards to a serious issue with one of my dog’s hind legs. Each time I’ve called attempting to schedule an appointment, I’m told (in an extremely rushed and pre-rehearsed tone) that they will call me whenever they receive the referral. This makes such little sense to me, considering I have confirmation from my vet that the referral was sent last month. I have left multiple voicemails for the person in charge of referrals and have never heard back. I was referred to Blue Pearl because they are one of the few animal hospitals in the area that employ orthopedic specialists, but I highly recommend taking your business elsewhere if your pet needs medical attention instead of wasting valuable time trying to grease wheels that just refuse to turn.

Coming from a small town without the resources nearby, I brought my dog in for an ultrasound of his heart. In town visiting family, the local vet in Mt. Juliet recommended it due to my dog’s shortness of breath. BluePearl was able to get us in on the day that we requested, only had to wait a few min past our scheduled appointment before being seen and was able to get results to our vet within a few hours. This helped a lot especially since we were heading back to SC the next day.The vet tech was really nice and made sure to explain what all was involved with the appointment. I appreciated her taking the time to answer all my questions. Highly recommend this place to anyone who needs specialty medical services for their pets!

We had an exceptional experience with BluePearl every step of the way – from a mobile ultrasound they did at our normal vet office, to an in-person exam for our dog in Franklin with the BluePearl vet, to a complex surgical biopsy. We even called in the late hours one night because our pup wasnt doing well to see if we could move up the surgery, and they messaged the surgeon after-hours to coordinate everything for next-day.Our BluePearl vet, Dr. Fortney, was incredible; spent as long as needed with us on the phone talking through a variety of treatment options, including costs associated with them. The surgeon, Dr. Daniel, was just as outstanding, helping us understand all the possibilities pre-surgery and going into great detail about how the procedure went afterwards. Its shocking for me to read any negative reviews about this place. This is an emergency vet clinic, so of course there are costs associated, and complex animal procedures get expensive. Further, its sometimes difficult to predict those costs before going in for the surgery. But rest assured, that this team did everything they could to help us understand the different options, cost implications, and scenarios.

Since we had visited BluePearl in Franklin for a minor injury in the past, we called and were told we could still bring Missy that day. When we arrived, we were admitted through a side door and shown to a “non -medical” room with comfortable seating and a pleasant atmosphere. Everyone was so caring and sensitive as we discussed our options and needs and we were given ample time to spend with Missy before, during and after the procedure. The customer service was the best I have ever experienced. Everyone there was patient, compassionate, knowledgeable, and honest. The team likely saved my dogs life all while keeping in mind that we really needed to be as cost sensitive as possible but would do anything it took to get our Great Dane Jackx to recover. They provided all available options, but instead of automatically performing unnecessary treatments immediately, they walked us through each option and were honest about whether he really needed all of the suggested treatments right away. We actually ended up with a bill 30% LESS than the projected amount. It’s difficult to find emergency pet hospitals that are honest about what your pet does and does not need and often times people are taken advantage of at some of these places. Not Blue Pearl in Franklin. I could go on and on about how wonderful this place and their staff were (especially Dr. Hamm, Bree [spelling?], Cheyanne, and Shawna who were ALL fantastic, knowledgeable, and really showed much they loved my big baby. I have nothing but great things to say about Dr. Humphrey and the staff so far. I didnt experience any rudeness like other reviews have said. Currently my fur baby (chihuahua mix) is being hospitalized for a few nights due to chronic GI issues. The doctor was very thorough with explained line-by-line what the estimate was, and even gave me options prior, stating she understands times are tough for folks during COVID. Luckily, I have insurance for my animals, so I was willing to do whatever was needed and asked the doctor if thats what she would do as a fur mom. Dr. Humphrey has great empathy and bedside manner despite not being able to come into the hospital. The reason why I am not giving a full 5 stars is because of wait time and an initial lack of communication. I arrived at 11:30a on a weekend and was told it would be a 30min wait. My total time in the parking lot was 3 hours. 2 hours in I called the front desk for an update and Dr. Humphrey deeply apologized for the wait and said she was just about to call.As an animal rescue volunteer, I understand you have to prioritize emergencies (I saw many pets get rushed in which broke my heart) and I am also not sure if they are understaffed due to the pandemic, but at the 2 hour mark with no updates and high anxiety about not knowing anything about my girl, I was hoping communication would have been quicker. However, as I said earlier, everything about the staff and care has been great so far.

The staff is wonderful. You probably get the best veterinary care around as well. The group that owns this company has come up with a plan to be millionaires in their 30s or something. We had a successful ivdd surgery 3 years ago for around $5500 for everything. This time, we had to leave a $4400 deposit which paid for her overnight stay, meds, anesthesia, CT scan and consult fee. The surgery was going to cost 7-8k this time around. They found a tumor and decided not to do surgery. They returned only $600. I asked about the spike in prices and in a round about way was just told it was a lack of competition in the field. The staff is wonderful and if you have the money, its a great place but the owners are capitalizing on peoples love for their animals and that is truly sad. They are not doing it out of love for the animals.

So far, we have had very good experiences. One of our dogs needed to go to an Oncologist (doctor that specializes in cancer). Due to the Covid-19 distancing, my husband stayed in the car, someone come out to get our girl and take her inside, the exam was conducted, they got other opinions from some of the other team veterinarians there (surgeon and etc), and then called me. I was at home waiting. The vet spent a long time with me discussing everything and was very kind...We were told that an additional tumor was not found yet we were given many options as to what else they could do besides a physical exam, if we wanted. They brought our girl back out to us. Several months later, we had another one of our girls that needed an Oncologist. We had the same experience with the second Oncologist that works at the Cool Springs Blue Pearl location. I dont have one negative thing to say, and thats very rare. I was worried because I had seen some bad reviews in the past...But so far, things could not be better with the care our babies have received and with the kindness and service we have received. For our second girl, they are going to perform chest x-rays in a few days to make sure there is no metastasis to the chest and then, we are doing a consult with the surgeon there. She will then have a larger section of tissue removed and that will be sent away for a histopathology to make sure all of the borders are clean. Her first surgery was done by our regular vet. The histopathology came back as having clean borders on the sides but the deeper borders were not clean so it necessitates another surgery to remove more tissue. So I am feeling good about having them do these things for her.

The only complaint I have is after checking her out over the phone, I waited another 45 minutes or so before they finally brought her out. *Read this before considering taking your pet to BluePearl*My regular vet recommended this hospital. Being in an emergency situation I didn’t second-guess or look around for other care but wish I could/would have.BluePearl may have skilled doctors that know how to treat your animal medically, but they do not know how to treat the owners/clients, nor do they display morals or sensitivity whatsoever. What a completely money hungry & insensitive Hospital chain. When it was determined my dog need emergency surgery they wanted to make sure I had a way to pay before they even performed. They had me apply for care credit since I had no other means to pay & they immediately took my card number to put it in the computer. 3 days after my dog surgery & continuing to make daily visits to her, I went to the front desk to make yet another visit. The woman working the desk said there was a note in the computer that I had to pay the low end of my estimate or I could not continue to see my dog. Mind you, the low-end of my estimate was over $5600! They would not let me see my dog unless I paid this! What kind of establishment would do this! She wasn’t even released but yet they demanded my money! Obviously upset, & in a vulnerable position with the condition of my dog affecting me, I paid the money. As if it wasn’t bad enough that they did this, there was a downfall of problems following. Firstly, when they had given me the pamphlet for care credit it said that they could do up to 60 months special financing. No one bothered to tell me that even though this financing option was in the pamphlet, this location does not offer that, they only offer 48 months special financing. Now learning this new information and them sitting in front of me demanding this money to see my dog, I went ahead and did the 48 months.3 days later my dog was released. When I went to go pick her up there was a different woman at the desk. When she looked at the computer confused & realized they had charge me the $5600 to continue to see my dog she got her supervisor & even apologize because she said this is not typical practice or how they do business. Despite the fact that she did apologize, neither she or the supervisor had a reason as to why this was done to me. To then add insult to injury, the remaining of my balance was just over $600 which was not enough money to meet the threshold for the 48 month special financing with care credit. Therefore, this remaining balance for these 3 days had to go under only a 6 months special financing option. To this day, I do not have an answer as to how my payment is going to be applied on my care credit account now that both balances are under different promotions. What an absolute disaster! Even after all of this nonsense no one has done anything to help me or fix any of this!! Now I have had to apply for a new credit card and pay a 5% balance transfer fee just to get all of this moved over under one lump sum and one financing promotion. So now I am out even more money thanks to their screw up.On top of that, this hospital has Frankie‘s fund as far as charities. I applied for assistance but got denied just over the fact that I got approved for care credit. Even though I wrote in about my circumstances I still got denied. When I spoke to the hospital about this they really didn’t seem to want to do anything to see if any exceptions can be made.Absolutely disgusted with how I was treated and can only hope this is not the experience of every individual that goes there! Can’t believe they wouldn’t even do anything to fix all of these issues. I will not be back or be recommending them to anyone. In fact, I will be specifically not recommending them to anyone & telling all who knows of them to avoid this hospital at all costs!- Side-note: the surgery they performed actually did not work & my dogs release paperwork said she had pain sensation when she was brought in which absolutely was not the case and cause more confusion with the doctors when I started her in therapy.

If I could give this place zero stars, I would. I was referred here by my regular vet. I waited FIVE hours in the parking lot watching several other patients come and go. I remained patient, despite the very stressful circumstances, and was met with rude employees. After the excruciating FIVE hours sitting in my car, I received the awful news that our sweet pup had several cancerous masses and had the option to either 1. Take her home to make her comfortable for her last days, or 2. Euthanasia, or 3. Have a very aggressive surgery that wouldn’t even promise or buy her many more days. I told them I needed time to discuss with my partner and think about our final decisions. I called back 20 minutes with my answer and they didn’t have any idea who I was or what animal I was calling about. Can you imagine getting the news that your animal is days away from death and then getting met with insensitive employees who literally mock you when you ask to speak to a vet directly? They tried discharging our pup with none of her recommended meds and without the fluids they said they were going to give her for being dehydrated (probably due to being in a cage for five hours without food or water). When I tried to get her the medication they recommended, I was put on hold for another 20 minutes until they could figure out what meds I was even talking about. No one was apologetic or remotely remorseful, sympathetic, empathetic, etc. I don’t think I’ve ever cried so many tears in one day. DO NOT EVER TAKE YOUR ANIMAL HERE.UPDATE: It has been two months and our sweet pup is still kicking it. So glad I didn’t choose to euthanize our pet like they so kindly offered to do. Seriously, I cannot stress this enough, take your business elsewhere. They don’t care about you or your animals, only the money. Which, by the way, I’m still trying to pay off the outrageous vet bills during this pandemic.Update: officially at 6 months with our sweet girl! If youre reading this and find yourself in the same situation with your pet, let me assure you that you and your pet will receive the highest level of care and compassion from this group. TPLO is a significant surgery and one that isnt cheap, but it gives back what was lost in the injury. A dog may not cry out, but it doesnt mean theyre not in pain. Grateful we took this step. I have had to take my little dog here multiple times because it was after hours or the weekend and my vet wasnt open. My little dog likes to eat things he shouldnt and seems to only do this when an emergency vet is the only option. That said, I am so happy that BluePearl is the available option to treat my pet. The staff is so kind and professional. They have a great facility and work quickly. The vets have given great care to my dog and let me know what I needed to do.I think that BluePearl is reasonably priced as well. Considering they are open 24/7 and 365 days a year, I find their prices for services extremely fair. They also follow up with me and my vet. That is great service!

Was sent here after one of my fur babies were hit by a car. They have done absolutely amazing taking care of her! A little expensive but it seems that all kinds of health care (human and animal) in the US is ridiculous. Other than that they are amazing!

We took our dog in because he was having a difficult time breathing and our regular vet office was not open. Due to COVID they had us call from our car and wait outside to be helped which I completely understand and respect. I was disappointed though that they would not let me go in with my dog (even with a mask on) as they said that was their “policy”, but I saw several other people go into the building with their pets? Once my dog was inside it took about an hour for us to receive a call from the Vet. Dr Canon was very kind and answered all of my questions. It turned out that my dog was okay and she said that he could be discharged to us. She explained that it would take a few minutes to get his discharge papers together and then someone from the front would call to collect our payment and bring our dog out to us. After we hung up, 40 minutes passed and they still hadn’t called. I then called them to check on our dog and the Vet apologized stating she had forgotten to give the girls up front the discharge papers and was called into another emergency. I told her it was fine as I knew they were busy that night, and the vet assured me it would only be five more minutes. Another 30 minutes passed and still no call. At this point I was very irritated as my dog is nervous by nature and has just been sitting in a cage for over an hour waiting to be discharged. I had to call the office again and after being put on hold for another 20 minutes they finally took payment and brought my dog out to me. The assistant who brought my dog out was not very patient and was dragging him on the leash. I told her he was nervous and probably just scared of the way she slammed the gate open but she did not seem to care.Although Dr. Canon seems like a very caring vet and I was pleased with the information she provided, this hospital does not appear to have a patient staff and they definitely lack in organization. After being in the parking lot for over 3 hours total, it seemed like $115 for a consult where my dog spent the majority of the time scared and being held hostage in a cage was not worth it. I would advise choosing a different hospital if you are able to. My dog is fine but was not treated with care and was basically forgotten in a cage for multiple hours. We will not be returning.

I was referred here promptly by my general vet due to a mild lesion that showed up on my 5 year old female dogs xray on her front limb. I originally took her in for an xray due to intermittent limping. I think it was silly Icouldnt either go in with a mask or the oncologist whom I was paying a LOT of money- for him to meet me outside briefly (phone chats are simply not the same).Regardless, my dog had her exam, xrays and a bone biopsy done (no antibiotic given). I told him to use whichever procedure would be most effective in pulling the cells to gather the best sample.Within a week I got the results back and they were inconclusive. The Dr. explained how the results are very accurate (roughly 97%) and settled on the thought that perhaps it was vascular damage to her front limb, which can affect the blood supply to the bone and cause the bone to become necrotic. Her limp did start a day or so after daycare, but not immediately. He said to check out their bone building infusion thats $400/month and check back in 6 weeks if she is not better.I sought out another vet since it bothered me I couldnt even meet the man that is caring for my dog and also to have a 3rd opinion (I could actually meet this vet in person with a mask inside). Her limp got progressivy worse after the 1st biopsy (perhaps it caused the cells to spread). By the time we did other tests and then a 2nd more thorough biopsy at the 3rd vet- they found it to be osteosarcoma. We immediately scheduled for an amputation. The surgery went great, but unfortunately she passed away hours later likely due to the cancer causing a clot. The 3rd vet and his team did an amazing job and everything that could possibly be done, but since some time had passed her cancer most likely spread undetectable, affecting how her blood clotted. It was simply too late in the game. Why I am VERY upset is that I felt misguided and that her case wasnt taken seriously enough perhaps because she didnt fit the normal age bracket (only 5) and size (she was medium size not a large breed). She was my first dog and everything was new to me; so I really needed more thorough guidance from the experts. Knowing what I know now- her symptoms and location of the lesion matched up perfectly with bone cancer; her lesion was in the most common area! An expert in the oncology department should have said to come back in 1-2 weeks not 6 (making it seem more urgent) and not put so much faith in the first biopsy by being honest that cancer cells can be very finicky (constantly dying..regenerating, etc.). These biopsies are not always as accurate as they say! One should assume osteosarcoma until proven otherwise since it is such an aggressive and incredibly painful bone tumor. Her lesion was mild when I first took her and her chances were high for survival then since she was eating well and still getting along fairly well during that time. After the biopsy she seemed to go downhill more quickly; her limp turned into complete lameness. I would have either immediately had another biopsy or an amputation done asap. The oncologist never met me nor has any personal relationship with me, so at the end of the day- why would he have cared too much. My sweet angel, Mylah, is gone now WAY too soon for something that could have been helped more efficiently much sooner had more urgent measures been placed on this issue! I sit here now alone and look at her picture on the wall, her unused toys, the beautiful poems people wrote for her and her urn on the table and think of the many years we were not able to share together. She was my sole companion. All that knew her adored her. Mylah was the sweetest most loving soul who deserved better care! 😢😭.I highly suggest seeking a different place for oncology. My first pick was the Nashville Pet Hospital, but I was able to get in more quickly here. I highly regret my choice. Perhaps it is the specific oncologist I had or the whole department- I will never know. I never got to meet them in person to see what type of people they are!

Rushed my kitty to the animal hospital and was treated with very kind and helpful staff. The vet tech sat with me and explained everything that was going on. She was even there the next morning when I called to discuss the antibiotics my normal vet had given my cat. I immediately felt like my baby was in the best place. I would highly recommend blue pearl to anyone.

We took our senior pup (10 years old) due to him being lethargic, not eating, not holding down water and seemed he was having trouble breathing late at night, the only place in the area that was open. They called as we waited in the car and said it would be $125 for the vet to even LOOK AT HIM. Cant afford the $407 quote, so I asked they check him and do what they could paying almost $158. He was given a shot for nausea and the nurse said he had a little heart murmur but it was nothing to worry about. WITHIN 4 HOURS MY DOG LITERALLY COLLAPSED AND DIED!!!! Aka these people charge you then basically let your dog die. He was a rescue and I took him to give him a better life. apparently they cant either if you arent rich. Also, they didnt even spell his name right and we spelled it for them.Lee Gillette was the name Amigo (omigo, their spelling) was under, as I was too distraught to talk.Edit: while overlooking the paperwork I was given by Stephanie the tech (I think that was her name), the nausea medication that was administered is NOT EVEN APPROVED BY THE FDA FOR ANIMALS!!! I had two witnesses with me to appear in court as they overheard the whole discharge convo which by the way was RECORDED. Also upon further inspection of the paperwork there was no mention in writing of a heart murmur as Stephanie said mild no big deal again RECORDED.Ive recorded convos and again have it in writing with witnesses. Ive called today and was told Candace was not in the office today so, you mean to tell me theres one person to take calls for all four locations yet no one can speak to me? My dog was going to die. I know this now. However administering a drug thats not approved by the FDA is ILLEGAL. Also, just tell a pet parent their baby is not gonna make it instead of giving them a shot that basically knocked him out only to then basically watch him die a horrific death when this could have been treated better and with actual empathy and care. They have no clue how to diagnose, and a flat fee of $407 and we dont bill. They should be named KILLING PEARLS Pet Hospital. Absolutely deplorable.

We recently brought our dog to BluePearl in an emergency as she was having trouble breathing as a result of CHF. The staff was quick to react and gave her only the necessary treatment while keeping us informed of the costs and expectations all along the wayWe had been struggling to successfully treat her CHF for the past few months with our normal vet who continually passed off her symptoms as anxiety, but her symptoms were diagnosed correctly and immediately upon Dr. Elliotts consultation. We ended up making the tough decision to put her to sleep as she was in final stages of heart failure, but we feel so comforted knowing that in her final moments she finally had a vet that was compassionate and truly did care about her. I only wish we had discovered Dr. Elliott and the staff at Blue Pearl sooner.*Having used multiple veterinary emergency treatment centers, I highly recommend Blue Pearl for anyone needing emergency treatment or to see a specialist.

I brought my cat here from a recommendation from his regular vet as he had a blockage in his urethra. I knew giving him a catheter and doing the procedure was only a 50/50 and made peace with that. I will say the staff was friendly, nice and very quick at getting him inside and seen. Dr. Spivey was fantastic, she was very sincere and thorough with all of my options and communication was top notch with her. (Also would like to mention that she went against my DNR order and they did a few compressions on my cat to get him out of his anesthesia, but can overlook that since he did survive)Why a 2 star rating then? Well, they removed my cats catheter sometime in the afternoon (around noon or 1300) and told me to come pick him up at 1530. When I picked him up, I had to drive over an hour home through Nashville traffic. Upon returning home and letting him out of his carrier, I realized he was still struggling to urinate. I looked over the notes they had given me, and realized then that they never observed him pee after removing the catheter. After calling and getting Dr. Spiveys opinion on the matter and feeling my cats belly, it was clear that his bladder was distended and he had another blockage. By the size of his lower abdomen, it was clear they did not even examine to see if he was reobstructed and if his bladder was distended.I then had to take him to the overnight clinic closer to home and put him to sleep after listening to him suffer for the 2 to 3 hours they told me to give him after giving him his round of medicine. UNACCEPTABLE. Make sure you check your pets when you get them back from this facility, as it is clear that they release animals back to owners without inspecting their condition first.Only reason I am giving it 2 stars is because of my interactions with Dr. Spivey before receiving my cat.

Our vet in Huntsville recommended them after our cat developed urinary blockages, anemia and a couple of other issues. A local emergency clinic had recommended putting him down without even trying to do anything. We got there about 7 PM. It took about 20-30 minutes for an assessment and estimate. No, it wasnt cheap but we were prepared for it. Flash was there for almost a week and had surgery. The staff and Drs called every day and gave us updates. They gave him outstanding care and treatment.... in fact the tech said they didnt want to let him go, they loved him and he loved the attention!

Friendly staff but I don’t believe they took as good of care for my cat as they charged me for. I spent $896 out of pocket just for him to get an X-ray, fluids and some blood work. The prices were beyond over-inflated and it doesnt even seem as if the bare minimum was done. They diagnosed him but it seems like it’s a completely wrong diagnosis. Looks like a follow-up is going to have to be done even tho I just spent a good amount on minimal effort.

I came in on Easter after my cat Piglet suffered from a 5 story fall off my balcony... Not only were they quick on getting my Piglet back to be evaluated in a waiting room full of people, but also quick on getting us back to speak to a doctor who stated her concerns for her. She had to stay overnight, and not even three hours later the same doctor called and stated everything they found with Piglet, but as well as the course of treatment. She said the doctor in the morning would call at 9, and right at 9 I got the call & Piglet was ready to come home. It was an expensive stay but so worth it. They were so thorough, and helped save my baby girl! They made sure I was prepared to take her home, and how to monitor and look after her. You even can call back with any questions or concerns. Despite some negative reviews, the service was incredible, quick, and concise. Every doctor and nurse that came in was knowledgeable and thorough. Could not be more thankful for BluePearl on such a horrible day. Thank you so much BluePearl!!!!!

Due to C19, we had to wait outside. We called as we pulled up, but it took another 15-20 minutes before someone came to pick up our anxious and sick pet. They gave great care, though, and they were the only ones in the Nashville area that would accept any appointments after 4pm, even with an emergency.
