I brought in a 2013 Nissan Armada to get a quote on getting electric wires redone because they were badly (dangerously) sliced by someone else. I also asked them to test the alternator. They gave me a quote of over $1300 and that included a new alternator. In one phone call the said the alternator was putting out no amps at all, but in another, they said it wasnt putting out very much. That was reason for alarm for me to dig in and do it myself. It took me quite a while to splice, and solder, and put heat shrink on each wire, and to replace the wire from the alternator to the battery (which was fried). It was fried because of a loose connection that was generating heat. I decided not to put in a new alternator yet and have it tested at AutoZone. They said that the alternator was putting out the amps it was supposed to. Ive been driving it for a week including a 10 hour drive today. Absolutely. No. Problems. These guys were willing to charge me for something I didnt need so they could have more of my money. Do not trust them.
Great local neighborhood garage for quick service and honesty. Have used for multiple repairs/oil. Always dependable, friendly and happy with their service.
Fast..friendly. fantastic. Service. My first time there. Recommend them. 3007 Jerp.
Kirbys Garage is the best! They are professional and honest, as well as totally interested in helping keep your automobile in safe, great shape. I highly recommend Kirbys. Give Susan a call to make your appointment.
Great neighborhood mechanic. I own several vehicles and theyve fixed them all. Excellent diagnostics, excellent loaner car service in a pinch, and a spectacularly friendly team. 👍
Kirby garage has worked on 3 of my families cars and have done great work on each. I took my Lexus SUV to Kirbys after the dealership said I needed brakes, only for Mitch to tell me I had 50% left. I was able to drive the car for over a year before it really needed brakes and then had Kirbys do the work. Id recommend them for all your repair needs.
Mitch Kirby and his garage have given me some unbelievably bad customer experiences lately. I have been taking my familys cars to Kirbys for ten years. I estimate that during that time, I have spent around $15,000 there. But recently, when I questioned the high cost of a tune up, he told me,that I should try doing it myself sometime. What kind of standard is that? I cant do it because I dont have the equipment or the expertise, so Kirbys gets to charge whatever they want? I have had a problem with my 2005 Toyota lately. I have spent around $3,000 with Kirbys in an attempt to get it fixed. Well, I still have the same problem. When I called to set an appointment for them to review their own work, I asked for a loaner car and was told I couldnt do that anymore because the last time I used a loaner, I filled up the tank of gas at another station, not Kirbys. We are talking about around $10 worth of gas. In my view, decency and customer service would have them trying to help me at this point. There is a $3,000 dollar problem, not a $10 dollar problem. I will never take a car to Kirbys again and I hope you dont do business with that place. Mitch Kirby has made an a** of himself to a loyal customer and I will do everything I can to make sure other people do not have the same experience. Just go somewhere else.
Great customer service and the mechanics are awesome 👌
My wife’s Lincoln Navigator had an electrical problem with the transmission shifter where the key would get locked in the ignition. Lamont at Kirby’s is the electrical genius when it comes to cars. He diagnosed the problem and came up with options to repair it. He had it fixed and I was back on the road in a half a day. Not to mention saving me a ton of money! Thank you Lamont!
These guys are great! They looked at my car, noted everything that needed to be fixed, had all the parts needed, and got the vehicle back to me on the same day. The service was top notch, they were very straightforward with any details about my car and made suggestions as needed. Its also good to support your local businesses and these guys have held this spot for as long as I can remember. Do yourself a favor the next time you need your car looked at. You wont regret it.
Two shops diagnosed my steering problem incorrectly, and in fact mad it worse. Kirbys found the problem right off, and fixed it at a fair price. Very professional, I have been there before, and I will be back.
I have had repairs to my 2010 Chrysler Sebring twice with Kirbys Garage and they have always been pleasant to deal with and communicate well on what the issues are and what it will cost to fix. The hourly rates are below most repair places and they always detail out the costs so you can understand what is involved. Mitch and the team are good people and I will always consider them when needing auto service.
I cannot speak to actual repairs, but I wanted to share my recent experience with Kirbys Garage at the Marathon gas station on Hillsboro in Grassland. Ive been having brake problems and took it by yesterday. Susan was extremely kind and helpful. Customer service was excellent. I left my car for inspection but they quickly called to let me know the problem. They informed me that my car was still under warranty and I should be able to have the problem fixed at a dealership at no charge. They said they did not feel comfortable doing the work and charging me for it when I could have it done under warranty.Who does that?! Hard to find honest service these days, and Kirbys exceeded my expectations. Weve had a good experience with them before, and this cements it. I appreciate their honesty!
I have been a customer of Kirby’s for decades. Always honest and fair. Mitch runs a solid business and his addition of Susan was a stroke of genius. Friendly, professional and knowledgeable.
This is the last place you would want to take your car. If I could give them 0 stars, I would. They magically find issues that arent actually problems. I thought maybe it was a fluke until I saw the other reviews reporting the EXACT same thing. They overcharge and under perform. They will run out of people to con eventually. If you take your car there, expect to get a call about all the things they found wrong that will cost thousands to fix. There are plenty of honest shops in town. This is absolutely not one of them. I dont expect it to improve, as this way of doing business comes straight from the owner.
Kirbys continues to provide top level service to our household fleet of cars. I feel like Kirbys is like having our own shop and they are very accommodating to our family. The service and workmanship is second to none.
Thanks Kirby’s for fixing our AC!!! While traveling to FL from Ohio our AC went out in our vehicle. We had planned to stop in Franklin,TN for the evening and we were able to call Kirby’s on Friday and get in first thing in the morning on Saturday and the repair was completed! Stopping us from being delayed to our future location!!! Customer service at its finest!
Bad experience all the way around!!! In the process of fixing my brakes they damaged my chrome lug studs. Then they claimed they were already damaged and that they could not get them off without breaking them further. This was not true. In fact, I had just had my tires rotated two days prior and that tire shop had no trouble with any of the lug studs. After the brake job, the rear lug studs (which Kirbys didnt touch) are perfect. The mechanic told me that he didnt have the correct size tool to get the lugs off. However, he told his boss (the owner) that the lugs were too damaged to get off. The bottom line is he ruined all ten of the front lugs. They wanted to charge me $12 a piece for new lug studs ($120 total) and I refused. Instead, they got regular replacement lug nuts which they charge me $4 a piece ($40 total). I paid for those just to be done with them and get my truck back. Meanwhile, I bought a replacement set of chrome lug studs for a grand total of $17.85 for a set of 20 and replaced those myself! This is what they wanted to charge me $120 for. So now I am out the $40 they charged me plus the $17.85 to put it back the way it was. On top of that, Im super irritated that I had to go to all this hassle because they cant do their job right! STAY AWAY FROM KIRBYS GARAGE!!!
RIP OFF ARTISTS!Took my Explorer in to check overheating problem and said I needed a thermostat housing and it would cost over $500. I found over 50 on Ebay in about 5 seconds under $75. I took the car to my regular mechanic and only problem was hose was split. They also charged me $50 to do a pressure test which was not needed as I had told them where the leak was originally....PLEASE GET CAR WORK DONE SOMEWHERE ELSE, FOR YOUR OWN GOOD!
Nothing but good things to say over the last couple of years of bringing our cars to Kirbys. Great price & service all the way around, highly recommend this locally owned family business!
Just pulled in on way out of town...guys stopped what they were doing to help us. Thank you so much. We will be back.
Fair price, friendly staff, bit slow for an oil change, but comprehensive car review after job was done
Great service, friendly staff, very convenient
Very friendly
$3.32 / gallon? Really Kirby? Forget about moving to your side of town... what a ripoff.
