Since they have moved the location does not really work for me but I have followed based on their service and price point. I tend to get little up sell and can feel confident that if they offer advice i have never felt the hard push I could leave and think about what they are recommending. I like the team and would say that the new location is improved for the customers and waiting area.

The team at J. White’s is exceptional. I had been looking for a late eighties/early nineties Ex MoD Land Rover Defender 110 soft top for quite some time. I was in touch with the J. White team at the start of my search. Owning this particular vehicle has been a dream of mine since I was a child. After finally finding a vehicle that passed my initial inspection (frame and bulkhead looked good, ran and shifted well (for an old LR!), I had the vehicle trucked to the team at J. White’s for a detailed 3+ hour pre-purchase inspection. The report that was provided to me after the inspection was incredibly detailed and thorough. The report provided me with exceptional knowledge about the vehicle which in turn allowed me to confidently make the decision that I wanted to pursue purchasing the vehicle. In addition, with the report in hand I already knew what work was going to need to be done (with parts and labor costs included) which allowed me to know what the purchase price needed to be to stay within my budget. I also appreciated that the report was broken down by priority, with safety being paramount; need to do now, 6 +/- months from now and then things to do that would bring the truck back to more of its original military roots (the convoy lighting system, dashboard, etc.) – the fun stuff for me. Once I purchased the truck the work began on making the truck safe and reliable as well as taking care of a few other odds and ends. This process took a few weeks to complete as some parts needed to be ordered from Europe. During that process Shirley kept me up to date every few days to let me know what was happening with my vehicle, even if the update was just that they were waiting for parts. What has truly compelled me to write this review was the experience I had picking up my vehicle. The final invoice was exactly what was quoted in the pre-purchase inspection report – there were absolutely no surprises – no gotchas – no BS. In addition, Peter showed me all the work that had been done on the vehicle and explained everything - he was like a proud father talking about one of his children before letting them leave home. Peter made me feel that he and the team at J. Whites were personally invested in my vehicle. It has been 3 weeks since I picked up my vehicle and the vehicle is running flawlessly. J. Whites will be the caretakers for my 110 while it is in my possession.The people at J. White’s not only care about what they are doing but are clearly passionate about the vehicles that they work on. J. Whites is a rare place where you see the off-road, Land Rover lifestyle and passion everywhere you look. Ask Shirley, Jeff and especially Peter what they drive – they talk the talk and clearly walk the walk…

My experience with Jeff, Shirley and their team started 3 years ago. They worked on our Jeep, LR3 and most recently, they completed a significant 1994 D90 upgrade. Based upon all the work that they did, I can say without hesitation that they provided the highest quality service when compared to anything that I previously received from any dealership or independent shop in the area. Their technical knowledge is superior and their communication is thorough and timely. They are committed to getting the details right and to customer satisfaction. People who know their job, people who you can trust and who consistently deliver on their promises; doesnt get better than that.

They are true experts when it comes to Land Rover. If you are bringing your LR to a dealer and are not satisfied/appalled by the treatment and lack of care/shocked by the cost....do yourself a favor and bring them to J. Whites. Everyone who works there, from the front to the back, knows what they are talking about, and actually has your best interests in mind. They take the time to thoroughly explain to you what is going on with your LR, suggest a course of action, and talk you through options. They truly care!!

This has been my go to repair shop since I moved to Metro West several years back.The owners are two of the nicest people Ive met and on two occasions have saved me a ton of money advising against unnecessary repairs recommended by my dealership.The waiting room is pretty comfortable as well, so its a good place to go if you need something done that day and need to wait there. Highly recommended.

Had a brake issue while visiting my daughter from New York. Left car in the parking lot on a Sunday, with an explanation and the key. Got a call early Monday, they had looked at it, gave us the estimate. Car was finished Tuesday, excellent updates via text, unbelievable customer service!!! Shirley, Jim and Jeff did a great job especially under the circumstances, very stressful for us. Prices were on point. Just wish they were closer so I could have my car serviced there. My wife and I have just moved from Seattle and I was in immediate need of a specialized Land Rover shop to fix some much-needed issues with my 1988 Defender 90. I discovered J. Whites Automotive after my own extensive reading of other online reviews and comparisons, and took the leap of faith in handing over my Defender to them to troubleshoot, assess, and recommend solutions.While my Seattle shop was good - the team at J. Whites is GREAT. The welcoming hospitality for a newcomer to the area - in addition to the transparency of the diagnosis and work done throughout -- has been my best auto repair experience ever. I can honestly say that as my truck is running the best it ever has since Ive owned it.Its evident that Jeff, Shirley, and the entire team have a love for Land Rovers - as do those of us who own these old trucks. And that that translates to a team that really cares about the repair outcome and their customers happiness with driving these old Rovers. For my truck - the team took their time in accurately diagnosing a serious issue with the rear differential, driveshafts, and noise resulting from a previously bad suspension lift. J. Whites solution and repair have eliminated the issues, and I finally have confidence in driving the Defender.Do you want it done now, or do you want it done right?One word of advice for customers: BE PATIENT and allow the J. Whites team to complete a thorough and accurate diagnosis. Its easy to rush a shop to just do the easy fix, but with patience, youll be better off with a repair by them that lasts awhile.In general - J. Whites earned my business. I wont go to another Land Rover shop, and happy that Ive found a shop with know-how, courtesy, and integrity.

My family owns several older model Land Rovers and Jaguars. I have been bringing them to J Whites since 2008. The experience has been infinitely better than the Rover or Jaguar dealerships. J Whites has the expertise to handle any of the quirkiness that British cars are occasionally known for. I have found the team to be both highly skilled and honest in all my dealings with them. They understand the meaning of customer service and go above and beyond in making sure the experience is as pleasant as possible for the customer. My vehicles have made visits to the shop for major repairs, proactive maintenance issues, and everything in between. I have complete confidence in J Whites to handle whatever repairs need to be made and perform the service at a fair price. Their expertise has allowed me to extend the life of my vehicles and I highly recommend J Whites Automotive.

Jeff and Shirley White, and their entire crew are the best! Theyve been maintaining our two cars (FIAT 500c and Mazda CX-9) since we bought them. Theyre excellent diagnosticians who figure out whats wrong, and never fix things speculatively. Everyone on staff is polite and professional, and I consider the Whites friends, as much as service providers. I highly recommend Whites for anyone seeking auto maintenance and repair.(Most recent interaction: 4 wheel brake pads and discs on the FIAT about a week ago.)

Update/ do yourself a favor do not even let them look at your Land Rover. These people are not to be trusted, They do not stand by their work.Went back to have more work done, worst mistake I could have made!Sincerely,KurtI have a 1967 NADA 109 Land Rover. I brought it into J. Whites Automotive to have general service done along with a brake job. They did an outstanding job on my Land Rover,. The service was so top notch that I got to tell you about it.In the past few years she has been showing her age in the way she been running. I use to have her picked up once a year on a flat bed and she was trucked up to VT for maintenance. I was going to put her up for sale after 20 plus years. Here is what happened: J Whites went through entire vehicle. The 109 now runs like it did in 1967! It never skips a beat; the steering is awesome with no play in the wheel. You can take your hand off the wheel and it now stops on a dime straight even time. J. White has got this rover running so good that I am keeping it and when I take it out I leave my AAA card at home. I highly recommend J Whites Automotive.

I always bring my car here. Not only do they do repairs in a timely manner, you cant beat their customer service. I moved to the area five years ago, and after trying a few different mechanics, I found J Whites and havent had to go anywhere else. When I would need to leave my car for a few hours someone would even drive me to work and pick me back up. Great work, prices and most importantly, impressive customer service!

Our RV died on the highway and we were towed to a park n ride next door. I saw the sign and emailed to enquire about assistance. We received a reply Sunday evening saying we should come for coffee in the morning and could use the shower if we needed.They helped us diagnose, get parts, and assisted with repairs. In the end our bill was only for some antifreeze.Thanks to everyone!

No comment on quality of service, but the price they gave me was 40% more then the dealership. You would expect lower prices from small shops, but apparently thats not the case now daysReply to owner: your quote for spark plugs was $500, dealer charged me around $300 if not less...I forgot now.

I have been going to J. Whites since they opened the shop in Framingham, MA. I have a Jeep Wrangler and my wife drives a Volvo. We have both cars serviced at J. Whites. I am always looking for new parts to put on the Wrangler and have had all aftermarket work done at this shop. They also do restores of Land Rovers, Jeeps, and all types of classic automobiles. Attention to detail in this shop is amazing. They make you feel like your part of the family. They have highly specialized mechanics that get assigned daily to the vehicles that are being serviced. I have read reviews for everything not just finding an auto repair shop. The first thing you do is Google the reviews. To be honest you have to take the good and the bad. Some people no matter what you do cant be made happy about anything. If your looking for a quality repair facility and you have had enough of the dealerships try this place out. People on the Cape and the Islands send their vehicles to this shop and there is a big reason why they do this. I stumbled upon J. Whites and have seen fantastic mechanics come and go over the years. What keeps me coming back and trusting them is the customer service and highly trained professional on the staff. Your greeted with a smile and you have there complete attention even on a busy day. Dont just listen to my review stop by and chat with them. Start off with an oil change. Test drive the shop you will want to come back. Thats how I found this place. I got tired of the dealerships and they didnt have the specialized mechanics for the type of work I wanted done. Its fun to just see what vehicles are being serviced for that day. Best place to have your auto services. The bottom line here is HONESTY! I just bought a used vehicle and it is going right over to J Whites to be checked out before my warranty expires. I know without a doubt it will be thoroughly gone over and if there is anything wrong I will know exactly what it is.I had a Range Rover Freelander that I got taken to the cleaners for { I bought it in NH, no lemon law } and ended up at J Whites, they told me even if I had a lot of $$$ they would not fix the car because it was junk,,, They let me store it there for about a month until an attorney straightened thing out and never charged me anything for the storage.I referred a friend of mine with a Freelander there and they were very happy,J Whites Automotive is the place to go, for top notch work, Honesty, and Super friendly staff!!!!

We just relocated back to New England and have a 109 Station Wagon plus a Defender 90 in our family. We previously used a Land Rover dealership, who loved our cars and therefore went into our new local Connecticut dealership to start a new relationship.Never have I felt so stupid for assuming that a dealership would want our business, I left feeling as if they couldnt have been less interesting in anything to do with our classic land Rovers. So we started searching further afield and gave J.Whites a go.First impressions were good, as they were very communicative and clearly knew their vehicles, so we took my D90 in to get it Waxoyled (rustproofed) in preparation for the hard Winters here. Ive never been so impressed with the thoroughness of a workshop. I dont have any concerns about corrosion now, allowing me to use it daily, as I love to do.Then we decided to buy a nearly new vehicle, a deal the local Land Rover dealership lost. But this decision meant we chose to sell the 109 Wagon, so we called Shirley, who took it in, assessed it thoroughly, stated an estimated value, and then sold it on commission for exactly that value. Very impressive!Were so happy (relieved too) to know the D90 has a repair shop in which we can place total trust, both in terms of honesty, and expertise.

Took 6 days just to get a quote. No communication at all. Just got the run around then told our paying customers come first. What a joke. Then called back several times to harass me about this review. Even threatened me with a lawyer. AVOID THIS PLACE LIKE THE PLAGUE.

I very rarely post comments online, however, J. Whites Automotive LLC is a special business. I have been a long-time customer and will remain loyal to them for several reasons:1) Honesty and Integrity - The owners, Jeff and Shirley White, always take the time to listen to my concerns with my vehicle, BEFORE having the auto technicians work on my vehicle..2) Professionalism - Their auto technicians are in a league of their own. They are always very respectful and ALWAYS exceed my expectations on my vehicle (which has over 209,000 miles!). It is because of their expertise, that my vehicle is still on the road today.3) Cost and Quality - Their costs are more than reasonable for the superb service they provide. I have remained loyal to J. Whites Automotive LLC, as a result of my own experiences. I personally believe that NO ONE can match the quality of their services.4) Convenience - Not only do they share a building with Hertz Auto, in case you need a rental, but they are also located right on Route 9 in Framingham, MA. This prime location makes it very easy and convenient, no matter where I am, when I need to bring my vehicle in for service.5) Cleanliness and Hospitality - Their spacious waiting room is very relaxing. From the moment you walk in, your stress is greatly reduced. There is always soothing music playing, and once you sit down in the large leather chairs, you will find yourself so relaxed, that you wont want to leave! Its truly like being in a Spa environment. There is always fresh coffee, juice, healthy snacks that are all complimentary to their customers. I especially like the free Wi-Fi and the oversized, boardroom table that is available, should I need to use my computer.6.) Philanthropy - Jeff and Shirley truly care about giving back to the community.
