I am so glad I did!I have had an incredibly positive experience with this practice. The office staff member who helped me schedule my appointment was patient and friendly. My therapist, Mary, is WONDERFUL! I really cant express how nice it is to finally feel heard and supported, and I love that she gives me DBT coping skills that I can use.

Their office is managed poorly. They have had constant clerical errors in the short time we have been associated with them. All their clerical errors caused us to miss 2 appointments. The first appointment we missed in person because their office missed our text saying we had arrived. Because of COVID, you cannot enter the building. You have to text your info to their number saying you have arrived. We did that - just like the previous appointment with no issue, and recieved an automatic text response telling us they would let us know when they were ready for us. But then our appointment time passed with no call or text telling us they were ready for us. I thought they were behind & waited a while before making contact again. Turns out they were just sitting in there waiting for us. The office personnel who checks their text to see who has arrived only checks around the appointment time. Since we arrived early, they missed our text completely by not being more thorough in checking their text arrivals. So we rescheduled a makeup appointment with the counselor that day before we left. About a week before our rescheduled appointment, we recieved an emailed telling us our appointment was a virtual session. I didnt think much of it since it was a last minute reschedule later in the day than our usual appointment times; I just figured that was the only way they could get us in. So we prepared for the virtual session at home. Three minutes before the virtual session was suppose to start, we recieved a text notification from their office confirming that our virtual session would be starting soon. But it never did. Again, I thought maybe they were behind because of all the craziness going on now with COVID and didnt want to seem pushy. I honestly couldnt believe they would be making another clerical error so it didnt even cross my mind; it is a counseling office after all. I trusted them 100%. So I waited a little while before contacting them about it. It turns out it was NOT suppose to be a virtual session after all and they had been waiting for us to arrive in person. After multiple text back & forth, they blamed me by telling me it was my fault for not speaking up sooner about THEIR error. They then charged me the full cancellation fee for it, $132 and some change. Then they claimed they sent me a text wondering where we were - as we were sitting at home in their virtual session room that we accessed through the direct link we recieved from the original email they sent us telling us it was a virtual session, but I never received such a text. Telling them I never recieved that text was the last I heard from them. They havent responded to that or called or refunded my money. So basically, no accountability for their own clerical errors - which means they can steal your money. Once they have your card on file, there isnt much you can do about it. There is no point in having good counselors if they have poor and shady office management. No professional office should ever blame a client for trusting their direct communications and not saying something sooner about their own mismanagement. Its not a clients responsibility to make sure a business is doing their job properly. And the client definitely shouldnt be penalized for following every direct, written, & official instruction received if it turns out to be incorrect just because the client didnt call them out sooner by giving them the benefit of a doubt. Very unprofessional and immature of them. And it gives small businesses a bad reputation since there is no accountability.

This office is filled with Angels! Penny is professional but I feel like Im talking to my sister at times. The office is relaxed and comfortable and everyone is respectful of any little need you may have from water (room temp or cold, I mean Cmon) coffee, tea, over stuffed chairs garden atrium and benches, plenty of parking and making any attempt to work with your schedule. I dont know where I would be with Penny and her crew of winged professionals...maybe the hospital??

My experience at Gratitude Ranch was very positive. Pennys very compassionate, the ranch is amazing and they work very hard to make sure of it. I recommend Counseling By Penny Haight and the way they professionally handle business.

While I waited Loretta expressed a sincere concern for me offering me something to drink and asked if I needed anything. She made me feel at ease knowing it was my first time in the office. This is my first bad Google review. I always leave nice ones, but I feel like in this case, we need to warn people. Your mental health is important, and you should be somewhere that it will be taken care of and respected. This is not that place.We had an EXCELLENT counselor here named Taff Wennick. He helped me cope with PTSD and helped my husband to help me through it as well.Today the office called and told us he was no longer there, and tried to convince us to see someone else in their office.They gave us no way to contact our counselor who had built a relationship with us. They said he just left, but that makes no sense, and feels like a total betrayal.I dont believe Taff would abruptly leave without any kind of warning or closure. Something is definitely off about the whole thing.

I was seeing Taff and everything was amazing, he was a wonderful counselor and I got a phone call that he left the practice. I know my therapist and I know he would never leave just like that, they said they have no contact information for him which is obviously BS and tried to convince me to see one of their “wonderful therapist”. I am not going to start all over again!! Me and my fiancé where making amazing progress and the fact that they deny the patient the therapist contact information, is a shady business practice. They care about the money, not the patient. Furthermore we got charged a cancellation fee when we notified and reply via the text message that they sent within the 24 hours, yet no one is owning up to IT. I know y’all ran Taff out of the practice and are now making it seemed like he left. Shady and unprofessional I HOPE Y’All get SUED

Six years ago my doctor informed me that I had PTSD. A diagnosis I completely denied. I responded by telling her that PTSD was BS and that it was nothing more than an excuse for weaklings. All the signs were there, I just refused to see them. Penny helped me see the problem and redirect violent tendencies into something positive. I only wish I had gone to Counseling with Penny and her crew before my marriage went down the tubes.

I went here to join in on counseling with my Daughter, never again. All they did was make the situation even worse. I had to listen to my Daughter tell me everything I ever did wrong, and was not allowed to discuss any of that with her and the counselor. Id call that emotional abuse imho. Furthermore when it was my turn to talk, my Daughter threw several temper tantrums, which the counselor didnt address with her. I have been to a lot of counselors in my 54 years, but never to anyone as unprofessional as this. I have been waiting since October 16th to hear back from someone, anyone at this office... nothing. Not one phone call. My Daughter has disowned me via text message, bevauee I could not make it to our last scheduled session on Oct 15th, which I clearly related to the secretary. (I had been told NOT to have any contact with my child until our next session, so just what in the name of heaven was told to her, when I couldnt make it because my truck was broke down and I live 45 minutes away???) I thought yall were about putting families back together, not tearing them apart. I wouldnt go here again if you paid me. Steer clear, obviously they cannot do the job they promote themselves as being able to do.

Penny is a wonderful person. She is one of the most genuine, warm, and kind-hearted people I have met. The staff, Dixie and Loretta and also wonderful and extremely helpful.

When I entered Counseling by Pennys (my Doctor recommended them), I was very nervous and scared. Loretta greeted me, explained the cost, and set up my initial appointment. My first appointment was with Penny, and I had to rescheduled and I ended up seeing Taff. This turned into a blessing. Taff is amazing! Loretta always asks about my family and remembers who I am when I walk in.

Called to ask about couples therapy something i feel is very sensitive and serious. That is the reason you reach out to places like this. Yet when the lady Loretta answers the phone and im asking questions she is laughing away. What does that show automatically that your office is a joke and dont take your profession or clients seriously. Will take my business somewhere else.

Penny understands and communicates that there are many effective approaches to therapy. She is current with her practices and up to date on all the best techniques. Highly recommended.
