I have been going to The Oaks Life Center for awhile now on and off. I first started out with Debi (the owner). A new therapist joined the practice and I was sent to her. After a small amount of time this therapist left the practice which sent me back to Debi. Feeling somewhat like a ping pong ball (among other things) I committed to stay if I wasnt moved again. It has been a rocky road. Debi states that helping ppl is her passion but she allowed owning a business to overshadow that. Due to personal issues, Debi once again pawned me off to yet another therapist whom I am in the process of trying to trust all over again. Talk about feeling like you are unable to be helped!!I DO NOT recommend The Oaks Life Center if you are in need a trusting, consistent therapist. Just my 2 cents.
UPDATE:I’m changing my stars from 1 to 4, simply because of Alicia. I was finally able to connect to a different therapist and she’s been absolutely amazing. The schedule has worked out. The payments are accurate and I’m very please now. It was a VERY ROUGH start but we wouldn’t go anywheres else now - cause of AliciaOn our 1st visit we sat there an hour before Yolanda came out. On our 2nd visit, I had called an hour before the appointment to confirm the time and make sure she wasnt behind again. We still sat there at least 30 minutes. She then said I did not have an appointment. I was told they take my insurance, and its $20 co-pay, then to be called asking for more $ cause I had not met my deductible yet. I STILL gave them another chance and tried to switch therapist, and they cant even get her in for 10 days. Julie on the phone is VERY nice, wish she was the manager. The manager who I was transferred to, was ZERO help. She could care less about me or my daughter. Pretty sad if this is the profession you chose & then dont help people.
I went ahead and scheduled an appointment with Debi despite a few hiccups trying to get an appt with her initially. The main scheduler was out of the office and they had someone filling in which was understandable.I have seen Debi for three sessions now. Our sessions are always on time. She understands me very well. Debi is very friendly, and I trust that I can share anything with her. I am so glad I made a commitment to her.I highly recommend her.
The Oaks is a wonderful referral source for those of us referring students in the schools. They work with the whole family and accept a variety of insurances including traditional Medicaid! They try to see clients as quickly as they can and offer a variety of therapeutic modalities.
Despite reporting that many of their counselors are accepting new patients with the insurance providers, they are not. Furthermore, if you ask them which of their counselors are taking new patients, they cant tell you. The response is we have too many to be able to tell you that. Finally, their website provides you with a reach out link to match you with the right counselor, but the website is broken and only yields an error when you attempt to do so. I dont know that Ive ever had such a poor experience with an organization.
I love going to The Oaks Life Center! Everyone is professional, friendly, and courteous. The offices are clean, soothing, and inviting. Debi Mattocks is top notch...I highly respect Debi and value her wisdom and expertise!!! A+
I finally convinced my teenager to see someone, but due to slow office practices, I will now have to find somewhere else for her to go for therapy. After having my insurance information for MONTHS, I get a call saying that they are not in network. So now Im paying a cash/no insurance rate and having to find an in network therapist. No one verified my insurance and arbitrarily said that I was in network. Very disappointed in the customer service. Make sure that they call and Verify your insurance before making an appt...
WORST EXPERIENCE !!! I had been talking to the receptionist Hilda and I was awaiting for an appointment in the North Richland Hills area for almost a month, and TODAY she calls me and has the NERVE to tell me “Oh well I forgot to tell you I scheduled you for Lake Worth”She was argumentative instead of admitting her mistake. If this is the service they provide initially, Now imagine how the treatment plan and therapist will treat you. Run Away and hire other Professionals. They have a tendency to be CORRUPT AND NEGLIGENT!!!!
Never get scheduled appointments correct, always assigning the wrong location for appointments even when its specified multiple times during setting up the appointments which location is to be used, and berating customers who are leaving their services for better companies.Avoid using them if possible.
They are not pro marriage at all. I feel worse since going there..
Good therapists, accepts insurance.
