I put my 1949 Chevy Pickup in Larrys Speed & Custom shop in August 2018. I took it there because they originally did the engine swap 5 years prior and it was running poorly and needed some wiring cleaned up. I was warned by the shops previous owner that the new owner Chad Deweaver, may be unreliable and was untrustworthy... However, Chad had originally done the wiring, and was going to do me a favor by putting my truck in front of the line and get the engine running and the wiring cleaned up for $2,000.After 27 months (yes, 2+ years) in the shop, my truck still wasnt running so I decided to move my truck to a reputable shop. Chad said I owed him $1,800 and that the $2,000 we agreed on was actually just to diagnose the engine. (who in their right mind would agree to that?)After paying to tow my truck too/from his shop, 2 years of insurance and having my vehicle sit and deteriorate in his shop for over 2 years I agreed to part ways with Chad for $750. He initially agreed to this but then said he would just take his new wiring harness out and call it even because he had more time and money in it than $750. I told him we could work out the cost difference in the wiring harness if he would speak with the new shop about what he had done. Apparently he didnt like this and he maliciously cut the wiring harness out of the truck and threw it in the bed of the truck (picture attached). He rarely answers the shop phone and has yet to talk with the new shopLong story short, the previous owner, Larry Sanders, is an honorable man who stood behind his work. The new owner has ran off all the help and stated that all his employees were divas. Meanwhile Chad is the only person left and he says he has a 1.5 year backlog.I would give zero out of 5 stars if allowed. If you value quality work, honesty and timeliness - steer clear from this shop. I always try to provide fair and balanced reviews. Unfortunately, Ive already stated the best things I can about the shop in the review above.
Been trying to get in touch with Chad for 3 days attempting to pick up a vehicle for an out-of-town friend. Called the landline, no answer. Emailed info@, no answer. Sitting in front of his shop ringing the Ring Doorbell, no answer. This guy seems super flakey. Avoid like COVID.
I must admit, the amount of cars they have in this shop is superior. the level of work they do is by far some of the best work. the customer service on the other hand is some of the poorest ive seen. with regards to work i was seeking, i was told they would get me in one month. one month went into another couple of months only after i reached out. all i need is communication and if the shop doesnt want to do it or cant. lets not waste my time. that is a scary thought when the minimal the shop can do is communicate so it would be scary for me to actually leave my car with them.
These guys are amazing, I got lucky coming here they been good to me and my car.
I called to see how much a diagnostic on my engine would run me just to see what I’d have to replace but the person who answered told me “if we aren’t going to fix it I don’t even want to look at it “ like how are you going to get any business like that I was still willing to pay just to take a look at my car.
Love to see everything that they are working on.

I came here to get my serpentine belt replaced on my Chevy Avalanche and the tow truck arrived at closing time but the mechanic stayed and completed the job.
