I don’t understand how this company is still up and running!! Please, do yourself a favor and go somewhere else, ANYWHERE ELSE! Half of my family heirlooms were broken, and my delivery was weeks late.
DO NOT HIRE THIS COMPANY.The outsourced movers they sent to my apartment wound up costing me double my quote (almost $10,000). THEN they destroyed half my furniture and LOST my grandfathers custom designed glass table.The company claims they are not liable for any of it and do not care.I called multiple times and kept being put on hold. Every time I called back they said that theyd call me and never DID.Global Van lines are going to ruin your move.
Terrible experience. They did the old bait and switch on me and gave me a price and then told me I had to pay $1740 MORE when they delivered all of my things to my house, and told me that I would not be getting my things until I paid. My TV was broken, and there were scratches on my coffee table and night stand. I would have rather carried my items on my back one at a time and walked 1120 miles with them and it would have been a better experience. STAY AWAY!!!
Great overall experience! Very friendly and helpful individuals that loaded and unloaded all of my goods and furniture. They were also very good at accommodating my requested dates and times for pick-ups and deliveries.
I decided to take a new job opportunity in Miami but my family and I had lived in the St. Louis area for 15+ years. We had no idea how to relocate our entire lives and belongings but were so glad we were referred to Global Van Lines by a friend.From the first call I was instantly connected with our own move concierge, Liz - she was so knowledgeable about the entire move process and had a ton of experience. Liz held our hand every step of the way, I never thought a long distance move would this would be as easy as it was.Every time I called Global Van Lines I was instantly in touch with Liz without needing to be routed through several people - this was such a time saver. Our move concierge was always available to answer my questions and even helped us ship our car across country... who would have thought that they could handle this?All of our household goods arrived safely and on time, I would highly recommend Global Van Lines to everyone because no matter how far or short you need to go they will get you there on time and without hassle.
This has been THE WORST experience of my life. This company is full of the most incompetent collection of people on the planet. They will take your down payment and then continue to feed you lies, have zero respect for your time, and have an I dont give a ^&%# attitude when they cant deliver on what they promised. Dont even bother paying attention to the agreed upon moving dates you discuss, they have tons of loop holes and excuses in the fine print. Im writing this as I sit in my completely empty house as my shipment is ELEVEN days late, and Im not even going to get my things for another two days. Did I mention today was supposed to be my first day of work? In a totally new city and state? The customer service department is an absolute joke, there is zero communication between the various departments which are required to communicate in order to accomplish a move. Since my items were picked up on the 15th of last month I have yet to have anyone from Global Van Lines actually initiate a phone call to me about an ETA or just what the hell is actually going on, I have had to reach out every single time to try to figure out what is going on. For example, my things were picked up on the 15th and didnt get loaded in a van until the 27th! Was I told about this? Of course not. As today is day 11 of not having any of my items, I called clearly upset this morning and was told by customer service that they would provide me the phone number of the driver so I could call them myself... on what was supposed to be MY FIRST DAY OF WORK. I promptly reminded her Ive paid $2200 for YOU to know where my things are at and communicate with YOUR driver. How about you do your job? I got a ton of attitude, was put on hold without being told I would be, and then was told my things woundt be there for a few more days. AVOID THESE PEOPLE LIKE THE PLAGUE. I already have a case filed with the Better Business Bureau.
