We had Goegleins cater and decorate for our wedding at the Botanical. They did a splendid job and the food was quite good! I felt like they were a little short of hands, but many companies are right now. Regardless, the lady in charge did a great job and many of our guests mentioned the same! I would highly recommend going through them for both catering and decorating!! Absolutely beautiful setup and delicious food!

I had the privilege of photographing an amazing fall wedding at Goegleins Homestead in 2019. The couple was married offsite at a church in Decatur, then their family and friends traveled to Goegleins to celebrate their marriage. This was the rainiest wedding day I had ever photographed, yet everything was so smooth at Goegleins that we didnt have to worry once we drove onto the property. We were able to pull up and unload all of our equipment from the car to the front door, and they have a ton of parking available.The venue was warm and inviting, on a cold fall evening. They had lots of tasty appetizers and drinks for the guests to enjoy. The layout of the room was perfect for their festivities, with plenty of room for the guests to enjoy the dance floor. We were sat at a vendor table, where the servers still brought out the family-style dishes for 8, so the hungry vendors ate exceptionally well that evening!The wait staff was kind and accommodating, making sure we had plenty of time to eat before the next event took place on their timeline, and they allowed the bride and groom to really own the space, including allowing confetti poppers during the father/daughter dance.The only regret I have is that it was so rainy that day that we couldnt explore the beautiful property for sunset portraits with the couple, but Im excited to be back at Goegleins in fall 2020 for another wedding to use the property.Overall, Goegleins is a fantastic choice for couples looking for a rich, warm venue with great food and space to accommodate all of their guests. I cant wait to photograph another wedding reception at Goegleins!

We hired Goegleins Catering to serve at our wedding this past weekend. We had a small guest count (approximately 60 people) and they were more than happy to come to our offsite ceremony/reception location. The set up process went very well (arrived 2 hours pre-ceremony). The food was great and the servers were attentive and polite. I highly recommend this company for any catering event. The office is also very communicative and responsive via telephone and email. Chad, thank you for your attention to detail and for helping to make our wedding day perfect!

Wonderful job for our wedding! They decorated beautifully, adding the perfect finishing touches to our reception venue. The food was absolutely amazing! Goegleins Catering provided the food, bar and décor for our wedding and they were a pleasure to work with. Chad coordinated our taste testing and was very organized when it came to the venue specifics (floor plan, tables/chairs, linens, etc). Our favorite foods included the salad with the bacon dressing, BBQ brisket, quarter chicken and pasta salad. Amy with “Designed by Goegleins” made our bouquets, boutineers and centerpieces which were so beautiful. During our taste test we met with Amy to discuss/see all the options. She looked at my pinterest board and was able to show me examples of similar designs she had done in the past. Our flowers exceeded my expectations. One of the biggest pro’s of using Goegleins is that they handle all the set up and tear down at no additional cost.

We had our reception here on August 1st and it went beautifully! Great and attentive staff, beautiful lighting, and perfect amount of space for the amount of people. The food was amazing and our guests raved about it. They were helpful from beginning to end! The place was accessible to my husband and I’s, great grandmothers (who had to use the elevator). Wonderful location, and beautiful outdoor areas to take pictures. There was even a wedding going on below us and we couldn’t even tell they were there! Thank you so much for the perfect day!

50th wedding party was great and food was very good.

We had our wedding reception in the Kercherval Room at the Goeglein Homestead and it was absolutely perfect! We worked with Chad to organize our event and it was a pleasure to work with him. Chad was a great communicator and was able to promptly answer our questions and accommodate all of our requests. The bartender and serving staff at our reception were very kind and professional. The food was amazing and we got so many compliments from our guests about how delicious it was! We highly recommend Goeglein’s Catering and the Goeglein Homestead venue :)

This place is great for Wedding Reception, Family Reunion dinners, Repass...etc...lots of space entertaining,and dancing.

Quaint little place. I had driven past it a million times, however my brothers wedding was the first time I had been there. The staff was respectful and always helpful, as well as being friendly. Service overall was prompt and top-notch.

Jeff was great to work with. Food was delicious and everyone loved it. Pricing is extremely fair and reasonable compared to other venues. Staff was very attentive. Highly recommend!

We had a chocolate fountain and a great buffet for my uncles birthday party. And they packed up plenty for us to take home! Great space for events!

I asked ahead of time about handicap access. I was told there was an elevator. Well, not at the entrance! I hurt so badly as a handicapped person struggling to get up multiple stairs. I was in so much pain I didn’t enjoy my granddaughter’s wedding. PLUS there were steps inside the room that I couldn’t navigate.Very ADA unfriendly venue.

Goegleins is the absolute best! Staff are friendly, professional, and accommodating. My wedding reception was there 2 years ago and my brothers was there last weekend. They make everything as easy and relaxing as possible. There are not any hidden fees. The food is always delicious! The bartender is great. For both receptions we decorated in the morning and when we had arrived in the evening, Goegleins had already lit the candles, filled the mints & nuts, dimmed the lights, and ensured that everything was beautiful. Ill never hold a large gathering anywhere else!

We had our wedding reception at the Baker Street Train Station, with the food and decorations from Goegleins (as required). The food was amazing! We were incredibly pleased! Gina also did a wonderful job decorating the train station! It is such a beautifully, unique venue! Everything was perfect! Prices were reasonable as well!

Goegleins did a fantastic job with hosting our ceremony and reception. We had a small hiccup with rehearsal but they were quick to fix it and very accommodating and professional. Jeff was great to work with and VERY thorough with answering any and all questions. Genia is the sweetest soul and is very helpful in putting together the look you want. My wedding truly felt like a fairy tale. It was everything i wanted and more.

Good experience with this place although they would not let us turn down the lighting like we wanted to. We had rented as for a wedding party and this is the reception. Naturally for a wedding people want it just right. Especially the lighting. They claimed we couldnt turn it down.

We used Goegleins Catering for our wedding reception and are SO glad we did! The food was just as delicious as it was when we did our tasting months prior, the service was OUTSTANDING, and we received nothing but compliments from our guests. Goegleins offers the option to do family style service, which we opted to do, which combined the best of both worlds of served meal & buffet -- our guests were able to select what and how much they wanted on their plates (& even have seconds), without having to wait in a long buffet line. Goegleins was also very easy to work with -- quick to respond to emails/calls with questions, and they worked seamlessly with our reception venue. I HIGHLY recommend them for future brides!!

Goegleins catered my son and daughter-in-laws reception. The venue was at our church. They arrived and set everything up beautifully. Everyone enjoyed the meal, and the servers were very accommodating. They made the reception stress free for us, which is greatly appreciated!

Ive been here 3 times as a wedding photographer and have enjoyed myself each time. The staff put up with a lot of shenanigans from drunk wedding guests, but they have been great to work with.There are plenty of places to take beautiful photos, but if it is a cloudless day with the sun directly overhead, your options become very limited. Add a hot day to the mix, and you will struggle trying take photos outside. Ive been there in the Spring, Summer and Fall; the summer day was a mostly indoors photoshoot, but Spring and Fall were gorgeous outside.

My parents had their wedding reception at Goegleins Barn back in 1961, so choosing Goegleins to cater my and Scotts reception was a no-brainer. Theyve only gotten better with age! Everyone was fantastic, from the planners to the wait staff. You will not be disappointed!

The food was fantastic. Very accommodating for a last minute bereavement party. Couldnt ask for more considering the sad occasion.

We used Geogleins for our wedding reception venue, and so they catered it as well of course, and the food and service was amazing! I cant believe how many people raved about the chicken stir fry. They are very accommodating (for example, we only wanted open bar for a portion of the night, and they were able to do that perfectly.) Cozy yet elegant. Perfect!

Goegleins catered an appreciation banquet we held for our doctors at Stoller Dental Laboratory and we were beyond impressed with everything, from the location they chose for us, the help we received from Greg Goeglein throughout the process, the wonderful centerpieces on the table by Amy from Goegleins, and last, but not at all least, the service of the staff and the excellent food. We heard from so many of our guests saying the food was outstanding!!! Many had commented they had never had such good reception/buffet food. Excellent, Excellent, Excellent!!!!! We will definitely choose Goegleins when we have another event. Cant be beat in our book!!!

We used the Baker Street train station for our venue which is owned by goegleins, and they also did the catering. We absolutely loved the venue, food, and great service of the staff! Would definitely recommend their services to anyone!

Can’t say enough about the professionalism and quality of this place. They came to our rescue in a pinch—short notice due to sudden death in family—and pulled things off without a hitch. Many many compliments about the food too.

This company is very unprofessional, the owner is very rude, they ruined the most important day of our lives our marriage day. First off they were late dropping off our food which broke our contract with them, we paid 750$ for food and they brought only half the food and then threw it down on the table and left without setting up the actual food. Also since they only brought help the food when we told them they had messed up instead of refunding us they told us that they brought more than enough and that them bringing food is more of a discount than they would have given us. I HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND THAT IF YOU YOU WANT YOUR WEDDING DAY OR EVENT TO BE BEAUTIFUL THAT YOU STAY FAR AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY IT WILL BE A WASTE OF MONEY AND A WASTE OF YOUR VALUABLE TIME.

Chicken did not have any flavor, was it supposed to be plain? Instant mashed potatoes? Otherwise, bbq pork was good. 3 oz of wine for $5.

We used Goegleins for our wedding June 6th, 2015, and they did a great job. Jeff is very easy to work with! The food was amazing, and so was the table service. Our only complaint is that we were told we had the hall until midnight, but the ladies started tearing the tables apart at about 1130 while some people were still sitting there. Other than that, everything was perfect and everyone had a great time! Thanks Goegleins!-Mr. and Mrs. Muehl

This place has to be the worst and most overly priced place I have ever had to work with. They were so over priced our group had to go with the hog roast which ended up dry. The mashed potatoes were gross and through the whole thing I kept being told one thing with prices then billed something totally different.
