Having won many online auction items, its always been a pleasure and exactly what I wanted ... until the last time. LOL!! It was MY FAULT - not theirs. On 4/7/21 I had to pick up at a residence in New Haven. Justin and Dalton are extraordinary young men with understanding, compassion and grace. Thanks, guys!!

I will begin by saying that I have purchased hundreds of items via auction houses doing estate sales in the past year. Of all of the places Ive done business with, this one has to be at the very bottom.1. After communicating the need for shipping since I lived out of state, there was little in the way of communication from their end. That is, until ponchosmom @ gmail sent me an email asking for credit card information. Not a good start.2. Handling is typically $30 before you even pay anything for shipping. Doesnt matter how large or small your item is, I was told they use new boxes and packing materials...apparently they think cardboard is made out of lumber if they think a box is worth that much.3. I finally was contacted by someone who seemed to be helpful, Mr. Bundy, and he was able to at least get the thing sent and did so at a total cost that was less than the $30 handling fee (giving credit where credit is due).4. The items received were a variety of pens. A couple had cracks (not mentioned in the description, but one was visible from the photo they had, so that wasnt a surprise), but the fountain pen was completely missing the nib, section, and everything else on the end of it...you know, the part you write with. Considering a pen sort of needs a tip, and absence of this not only devalues it greatly but makes it impossible to use it...might have been advisable to mention it was missing that in the description. Someone still would have paid something for it, just not the amount I paid for something unusable. The other pen had an engraving that was not mentioned either. This is the first time Ive received a fountain pen with missing nib when it was not mentioned.5. It took over three weeks for them to send these things and it was after many follow-ups. If youre considering buying something from these guys, especially if youre out of state...and youre unable to peruse the item prior...Id think twice about such a thing.6. Id have sent a message asking for some sort of refund to make up for the money it will cost me to replace the part of the pen that actually writes, but it would have taken three weeks for them to respond, the message would have been from Ponchos mom (or Wendy Medrano, who you will notice left a 5 star review on Google already...surprise...), and I wouldnt be holding my breath that they would attempt to make it right.7. If you guys read this and want to fix this, you know how to get in touch. Looking forward to that, if it ever happens. Thanks for reading...AVOID.

Overall i enjoy their auctions and most of their staff is helpful and polite when I frequently attend their auctions. Today a woman working for them that appeared to be in charge inside the home said nobody else can come in the home which is fine I understand that then as Im walking away she told her staff They should have been here at 9. If the auction company reads this I enjoy your auctions but theres no reason any member of your staff be rude for no good reason.

I should have read all of their negative reviews (apparently they dont).. Description of item was poor. Product received (iPad) was not as described (missing needed parts and was security locked). Auction house never resolved the issue but sent an exasperated message. Overall low quality experience and I do not recommend.

So I won an online auction for a pair of speakers. Then was informed that the items were Stolen off the floor by an in house bidder. By Mistake of course as its so hard to tell when you won an item as opposed to NOT winning the auction. Was told they knew who the person or persons were & that they were going to contact them to sort it out. Then after 2 weeks I was told they had contacted the thieves but they had Sold them already. They were really sorry & refunded me. So if you are a person that can attended the auction in person I encourage you to go as it looks as if you can just take anything you want off the floor & resell it without consequence. Looks to be really easy to not pay for items & walk out. They will just contact you & ask you if you would be so kind as to return the stolen merchandise & if you already hocked it then oh well. No harm no foul. No police no charges. Just a shrug of the shoulders. I am in the middle of filling out a police report as this all sounds like a bunch of BS to me. More like the owner didnt like the hammer price or someone who is buddy buddy with the auction house just said I want them. Wink wink nudge nudge. Palm greased. Oops they were Stolen STOLEN PROPERTY BOWERS & WILKINS CDM1 SPEAKERS SERIAL NO. 051559 & 051560* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * U P D A T E * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *I have been contacted by the owner Tim McCulloch. He has advised me that the stolen property has now been recovered. He personally retrieved the items from the culprit. Hopefully charges have been laid or at least security has been tightened around the auction floor so this does not happen again. Although I now have the opportunity to reclaim my lot. I have already purchased another pair of speakers in the time that has passed since this all began. I appreciate the efforts of the auction house in this matter.

I purchased a high value item($30k) from Scheerer McCulloch Auctioneers. Everyone from Tim(the owner) down to Dustin at the shipping company was easy to work with and knew their stuff. Even though I live 2,000miles away from where theyre located I am thoroughly satisfied and have added their website to my bookmarks and will definitely be checking out their auctions on a regular basis. Thank you Tim and everyone at Scheerer McCulloch Auctioneers!

We have worked with Tim and the rest of the Scheerer McCulloch team on several auctions ranging from lake front homes, custom built estates, to investment purchases and they have always been an easy, enjoyable experience. From bidding, to closing, they are accessible and responsive. Tims knowledge of the real estate market in Northeast Indiana is unmatched. They will treat you right, regardless if it benefits them, and that is rare these days. We cant say enough good things about them.

Tim McCulloch sold my parents Lake James family cottage of almost 50 years for nearly $100,000 more than they expected. They sold it on the day wanted, for the price (way more) that they wanted without any of the stress of a traditional sale. Bravo Tim! Great job!

This auction house charges you a “Buyer’s Premium”, as if it is somehow a great privilege that you are allowed to buy from them. Just think about it. Would you go into any other business and pay this. Go into any major or minor retailer. Pick say $1000.00 in merchandise. You get your sales slip and they want $1250.00 plus any applicable taxes. You show them the mistake and they tell you it is a “Buyer’s Premium”. Would you pay it? Why pay it here? The hammer price is the same as the price in a retail shop. Why are you paying more? The bidder has $1,000.00 to spend on an item you have consigned and must take into consideration the buyers premium. Say that premium is 20% that means on the $1,000.00 dollar item there is only $834.00 to spend before the rest is eaten away by the premium. The higher the premium the less the bidder has before the rest is eaten away by the premium.Just something to think about.

Tim McCullough and Scheerers do not care about helping you sell your values...they are more about lining their pockets...DO NOT USE THEM if you care anything about your family estates and values...because they dont. From experience of using them...they are designed to cheat you out of money. If you have properties sell them on your own through a realtor...DO NOT USE these AUCTIONEERS...They also charged for cleaning carpets...they did not clean any.

As a buyer, really hard to have confidence in this company. They do not check receipts when picking up larger items after an auction is over (or during pickup hours the next evening). I discovered a large woodshop item was stolen when I went to pick it up. It took two weeks of phone calls to finally get a refund. The icing on the cake is being repeatedly told that its my fault the item was stolen, since evidently the item is solely my responsibility the moment its purchased. How is that even remotely possible in big estate auctions full of really large items, especially when they offer after-hours pickup times with a staff member present? Quit blaming customers, get organized, and prevent pickup hours from being a complete free-for-all.

I went to buy a Schwinn Bicycle today (4/17/2018) It was listed on the Scheerer McCulloch website. It was shown in the pictures and listed in the description. I drove Approx. 100 miles about a 2 hour trip. I showed up and look around for the bicycle so I ask someone working for the company and they proceed to tell me that it was (Cherry Picked) and sold at a previous auction. I asked why wasnt the Scheerer McCulloch website updated or edited to show the bicycle was no longer available He proceeded to tell me that it was not his job and he was sorry buddy Now Im out 4 hours of my life and $30 in fuel. Thanks

Im sorry to say that I went with this auction company. It would have served me well to sell my items myself on eBay or locally. I had beautiful pieces of Capodimonte, signed Waterford, princess house, antiques furniture pictures, amazing one of a kind items. My lifetime collection. It was a consignment auction that they convinced me would be fantastic.I paid them to move my items in April, the auction wasnt until October 25th.There was so much crammed in their grand opening at the Lantern building that everything was basically given away. Most of my items they kept 50 percent! When I found out how much my check was I was literally sick, considering my one antique etagere was valued at 1800.00. I know auctions dont pay as well as other methods do however, 1300.00 is absolutely ridiculous as a payout. I was treated rudely. I would never use this company or recommend them to anyone. VERY DISAPPOINTED AND HEARTBROKEN!

I highly recommend McCulloch Moving Systems! My 93-year old Mother was moving from Ft. Wayne to Bloomington. She had been in her home for over 30 years and was moving to a much smaller Senior Living Community. My brother and sisters and I all live hours and states away. We had no idea how wew were going to coordinate the packing and selling of items that wouldnt be going to mothers new home. McCulloch solved ALL those problems for us.They came to the home twice prior to the move to talk to mother and then to myself about preparing for the move. They brought us excellent packing boxes and told us to use what we needed and we wouldnt be charged for the unused. All the items that Mother wasnt taking and us kids were not going to take, were placed in boxes for the Scheerer McCulloch Auctioneers. They even took for auction the birdbath that we couldnt fit it anyones car.The movers worked swiftly and took great care with mothers possessions. They were polite and professional. Before we knew it, mother was out of her old home and into a brand new adventure.Yesterday mother received a check in the mail for the items sold--along with all the items detailed out with the amount received for each. For a senior on a fixed income, it was a great windfall.Thank you again for a job well done. My mother and our entire family are so appreciative of making this move so much easier.

Horrible experience. I sent an absentee bid on an item that was cataloged and advertised as Baccarat that should have been worth about $350. I was shocked to find I won it for $25 ($29 with commission) and thought, wow, no one must have been on the floor bidding the day of the auction...I just got very lucky no one was interested in it. This was my first time bidding Scheerer McCulloch, but I have been bidding auctions all over the world for a dozen years, both on the floor and absentee, so I expected everything to run smoothly, and if a problem arose it would be handled professionally. Was I ever wrong. I received the item, broken and shattered, but the independent shipper actually reimbursed me immediately and apologized profusely. The problem came when I called Scheerer McCulloch to tell them what had happened, that the item was inadvertently cataloged as Baccarat, but in actuality was a piece of crystal from Japan for GLC Enterprises worth about $20, and it had the sticker on the lower edge...it did not bear a Baccarat insignia anywhere. I was met with defensiveness and denial by the office manager, Cristy, who insisted if they cataloged it as Baccarat then it was Baccarat. I sent her pictures of it with the label and she told me they didnt know what to do about it yet. She snidely commented that they had until Sept. 19th (3 weeks) to make a decision to refund my payment, according to PayPal...now shes not only defensive but shes on a power trip and shell tell me how and when theyll make a decision. I told her I do not want an open situation for 3 weeks and I would like to speak to Tim McCulloch and she said she would have him call me. This should be so simple of a decision...for $29, do the right thing and give me my money back and lets go our separate ways. Tim McCulloch never returned my call, not that time or any of the 4 additional calls I made in the following days, yet I was told he was in the office. I have never been treated so poorly by someone I tried to give my business to, and I will never deal with them again. I finally received my $29, but I dont know why anyone would choose to do business with them when there are so many outstanding auctioneers in Indiana. They are the most unprofessional, arrogant, and rude people I have ever dealt with in my 12+ years of doing business with auction houses. When they couldnt make a judicious decision on a $29 issue, it made me consider if the item really was inadvertently cataloged or perhaps deliberately listed as Baccarat to stimulate higher bidding from absentee bidders. Really poor behavior overall.
