I lived here last year from 2018 - 2020, but didnt think to write a review until my poor experiences with my current apartment. This was absolutely the best apartment complex Ive ever lived in.I lived in their one bedroom, but also their newer 2 bedroom unit as well. Both were absolutely fantastic. The one bedroom was obviously older, but still not many complaints other than the minor things that come with age. The 2 bedroom on Loop Court was the best though. Great layout, appliances, and having a garage and driveway was so helpful.Even better than the living conditions though, was their amazing management and staff. They always took care of their tenants and went above and beyond. They always answered their phones, got back to maintenance issues within a timely manner, and were just so down-to-earth. I absolutely loved that they knew us by name and always did fun activities and events for their tenants. Thank you so much for the lovely living experience. If I didnt need something just a bit bigger for our dog, I would have stayed!
We moved here in 2019 and love it! The staff is very friendly and prompt. Weve only had one maintenance need and they were here to take care of it within 20 mins. Its a quiet and safe place to call home!
Ive lived here since 2016, I love this place! Super responsive maintenance when I have an issue, very timely on replies.
Once moved into the apartment, I noticed a horrible pet urine smell within the carpets. The old leasing manager (Sherry) did agree to replace with new carpet. The apartment was disgusting upon move in; as maintenance did not clean it properly. The water had to be shut off several times due to repair. Management did not accommodate for the inconvenience of being without water! Male neighbors displayed horrible boundaries to the point of harassment! The experience was somewhat better with the old leasing manager (Sherry) in charge. The experience was worse with the new leasing manager; as she show biases. The owners, Tom and Mary Lou are great about showing their appreciation to the tenants, including delivering Cookie Cottage packages for Christmas each year along with other treats throughout the year. This apartment was the worse apartment I have ever lived in. I am so thankful to be out of that filthy place! I am now living in a beautiful condo, in a peaceful area!
Very positive experience living here. Quiet neighborhood and affordable apartment options. Excellent and accommodating office staff. They just built new buildings last year as well. Overall had a great experience living here. I would likely return if I move back to the area.
I dont live here but love visiting this apartment community! The community is well taken care of and quiet. The owners, Tom and Marylou are always friendly and their wonderful team are always helpful and courteous.I visit during their many resident events throughout the year and I always have a chance to talk to many of their residents who all enjoy living at Montrose Square Apartments. If youre looking for a safe, pet-friendly apartment community on the north side of Fort Wayne, check out Montrose Square!
The apartment complex is quiet and I feel safe here! The management offers a discount if you pay early! Highly recommended.
Moved in a couple years ago love it here they do a great job the staff and maintenance are awesome
Low-end apartments. In the two years I lived there, several people got robbed in the parking lot. I also heard gunshots nearby. Nice skylights, though.
Perfect for a single man, who shuts himself away, has no desire for room, and wants to be treated like garbage by the complex if you should ever need anything. This apartment complex is possibly the worst run in the city of Fort Wayne, by far the worst I have lived at. There is only one maintenance man for the whole place and a 14 yr old to attempt mowing and grounds keeping during the nice months. Drainage tile is poorly installed and flooding in spring and fall are common everywhere. The woman that runs the office is cold and has a serious problem being courteous to men or understanding to anyone. I paid rent days early every month for my entire lease and the first problem I ever had she was completely rude and discourteous. I had a neighbor, with two minors, being drunk and loud at 12:30 a.m. on a Tuesday night and they acted as if I was the guilty party for even bringing it to their attention. Later that night there was a fight, at the same place, and the front window was shattered out completely but this led to no repercussions for those involved. There is a resident that is completely unstable that I have caught him on three separate occasions peeking in windows and yet nothing is done about any of it! I am a man, but I would feel extremely uncomfortable being home alone at night if I was a woman here and another tenant has voiced the same concerns to me.As for the apartment: The heating and air in the apartments are undersized at best and completely inept during peak winter or summer. Water pressure or lack thereof is terrible for my girlfriend who has long hair, and even impedes the washer if trying to use hot water. The windows are half of the walls in the living room and bedroom leading to a total loss of privacy. The outlets are a fire hazard because they do not hold plugs stable in the wall. There are absolutely no perks in the complex except a porch, and that’s if you can keep property on it. There is no reason for any couple to want to stay here, and if you are a single woman I would seriously recommend you look elsewhere.
Been living here for a year, just renewed the lease for another year. The staff have all been great, friendly, the office ladies a delight. They hold several events for the residents through out the year and they (if possible) will provide gluten free options for my celiac partner. The area is quiet, I never hear my neighbors, and there is always plenty of parking. The not so great - my bathroom sink has never drained properly since the day I moved in, they told us they poured chemicals down the drain to clear it out, but it still drains slow, not enough to be a problem so I dont care much. I did at one point buy my own drain chemical and tried that with no success either.Under the kitchen sink leaks, again not horribly, but I dont leave a whole lot of stuff under the kitchen sink after I found it had soaked my potatoes and left a gross stinky mess. After the yearly inspection we pointed this out to them and were told it was cause we didnt use our garbage disposal enough - never heard of that as an issue for a leaky sink. The heater/AC unit is this little thing like what you find in a hotel. In the winter the electric bill is really high - I dont pay the electric bill my partner does, but I believe he said it was around $250 one month, perhaps higher, this is pretty steep for a 500sqft apt, with just warm enough to tide over my partner who prefers the cold anyway, I just bundle up. It doesnt have any sort of numerical thermostat so I dont know what temp we tried to keep it at, however, it is extremely fickle and its easy to go from warm to freezing, or freezing to roasting. There are no amenities and you cant complain about that cause you know that going in. That said I feel like the rent - compared to other places - is just a smidgen too high since it has nothing else to offer. This is even considering the $40 discount. A big bonus to them though in that they dont charge a month rent for pets.As someone who moved out here from a very sketchy part of Maryland my definition of a good apartment is doesnt have roaches, and I dont have to wear Kevlar when leaving my home, so take this review with a grain of salt. If you have high standards this probably isnt the plan for you. If you want something at a decent price, and arent looking for a Ritz this is a great place. From a review I read somewhere else - If a small space is the reason you and your partner dont work out - you shouldnt have been together in the first place. The apartments are not huge, but there is more than enough living space for two adults to coexist comfortably. I live in a one bedroom. And for the delightful google review mentioning demon worship that is literally the reason I first came to this place. I was just so amused by that. I still have not encountered these demon worshipers, but Im keeping my eye out. (Or maybe Im the demon worshiper!?)
I read you review. Living here I have a difference experience. What I am experiencing is thief, harassment, and demon worship. Perhaps you interact with the people living in Montrose Square Apartments, I do not because every time I leave my apartment, someone goes into it and steal things, every time I come and go from my apartment, some man is there clocking my movements. They make every effort to show me what they are doing. At night, I see these horrible visions and it comes from someone practicing satanic worship. When I first moved here I asked one of the maintenance workers who has the keys to the my apartment, he replied that the office staff. Also, I noticed that when I do not attend one of Sherry or Carrie events, they would find a reason every week to knock on my front door. I mean I do not want to interact with many of these people. Who do you know who you are talking to... is it the person that is going into your apartment and stealing your things every chance they get, or is it the person that is secretly harassing you, or do you want to come face to face with the creepy men that live or work at Montrose Square who clock your every move? I tried to post my concerns but unable to do so, I really want to warn the women who are applying for and apartment here whether they working professionals or a student to be aware. I have began to inform my friends of what is going on, I wish somehow I could post this on other websites.
Best apartment I have ever lived in~! Love this place!!
