Been great place to live, office people are great and work with you. Recommend.
Avoid Governors Park. The apartments are low quality and everything falls apart, management is very rude, and they charge so many unnecessary fees that randomly increase. The apartments don’t look like the pictures which sucked for us because we moved from out of state. They charged us for two months of rent when our lease was expired and they never bothered to mention that would happen, when they knew we were moving out when our 6 month lease ended. The maintenance team also talked bad about us as we were leaving the office so that’s cool, then they lied about it. Go anywhere else! Not worth it
Just moved in and the community is already so amazing. The apartment is gorgeous and spacious and absolutely perfect. Not too expensive for what it is. Truly an awesome place to call home.
AVOID GOVERNORS PARK! It makes sense that no one stays here after their lease. I have lived here for a year and three months. I recently had an issue where tiles in my shower began to fall off so I made a maintenance request to be safe. In short its been a month and a half and five visits so far, and they ended up destroying my bathroom and leaving it in terrible shape. They have ruined my bathroom and I most likely will not be renewing another year due to how bad of shape its in now, I can hardly stand being in there. If this isnt enough info for anyone interested in this place to pass, read the rest of this for the details. So I made a request about 7 weeks or so ago. They showed up and left a note saying that they will talk with the manager and figure out how to address the issue with tiles falling off. Two weeks pass and I havent heard anything... So I make another request and am left with the same note. Luckily this time they eventually come back. Unfortunately, their repose was to glue up a cheap plastic board over a different part of my shower. They also glued it up poorly leaving the edges falling off.I included a photo with the problematic tiles falling off circled in BOTH maintenance requests I did and they still glued up this panel over a complexly different part of my shower...Ok, so bad sign already that maintenance doesnt pay close attention. But it gets even worst. So I email them and complain that they didnt fix the issue and covered the wrong part of the shower with this cheap piece that looked terrible and was already coming off the wall. So they come out again to just look at the awful work they did. I was told that they will install another piece over the problematic tiles and that the piece they already glued up would be very hard to take down.Ok, whatever. They made my shower look terrible but at least they would fix the issue. My primary concern with the tiles coming off to begin with was water getting behind them. I was told that this wont happen so when they said they would have to remove my sliding shower door to install the new panel I called the front office and asked them not to (given that the issue of tiles falling off is cosmetic according to them and I wanted to keep my sliding door).Well let me tell you, they showed up again and the first thing they did was pull my shower door down without running it by me first. The best part is that they didnt even install the cheap plastic cover because it wouldnt fit. Wow. SO they left me without a shower door and the issue still not resolved. My question is why tear down the door and not install anything?I have been trying to reach maintenance unsuccessfully. The initial cheap plastic cover has fallen off (shocker) and they have not come back to fix it. It has been a week since I have emailed them about it and they have yet to even come look at this issue.I am very frustrated and feeling hopeless about the maintenance quality here. My shower is destroyed and they are not doing anything about it. I am still waiting to have this issue fixed but I do not expect to have a decent looking shower ever again at this apartment. Photos attached of how they left me. I WANT MY SHOWER FIXED AND MY SLIDING DOOR BACK!Update: They out right refused my requests I made to fix my shower back to the way it was. This was after ignoring contact attempts by me. They finally reached out after I left negative reviews. Beware of this place, they are too cheap to fix things satisfactory. Its an old apartment so things are bound to break while living here and youll be in for a ride too when it happens. There are plenty of other cheaper and better apartments in town.
Ive truly enjoyed my time here at Governors Park! Tucked into the perfect location in Fort Collins, you have a multitude of awesome shops located within walking distance. The staff onsite is awesome - a lot of the older reviews were for the old manager Christy who was not the best. Since Kellie has gotten into the office, the property is in better condition, and she builds solid relationships with her tenants - such a great property manager. The other office staff, Matt and Devin are also super personable and dont mind taking some time out of their days to chat with you or love on your dogs. For the price, its a steal. It feels more like a community than a temporary home.
The office staff is amazing! Taryn was the best tour guide of all of our stops in Fort Collins. The information was well explained, the model home was very clean, and the pool looked so inviting. The manager came out to greet us as well and felt like she really cared about the community. We will be leasing at Governors Park next year for sure.
My family of 5 were residents for 18 months. Moving in Kellie was more than willing to make the process smooth and easy as we were moving long distance. Matt and the office staff were also great help when we had any questions or needed maintenance on our apartment. Friendly, neighborly, clean community, and a great upkeep! Great area of town, close to stores and businesses.
Great place to live. Very dog friendly. Right in the middle of fort Collins so everything is convenient. I work from a home office and its never noisy. Maintenance fixes things really fast and they have an app to pay rent or put in requests. No issues here
The front office are the best and most understanding people I have the pleasure of getting my apartment from. Terran answered all my questions as quickly and detailed as possible, I moved here from Hawaii and didnt know what to do and Terran walked me through the process whenever I had trouble she helped me figure it out and I appreciate that. They are people with hearts who so far care about the tenants, talk to them and explain your situation and be upfront and they will go above and beyond to help you find a way to help you. Thank you for making this move to Colorado from Hawaii without my family an easier transition
Ive lived at Governors Park now for 3 months. I must say this place has been great!! Its good to see the money you pay every month on amenities is actually getting out to use when things need updated or just fixed. The staff is amazing friendly and helpful. If you ever need maintenance they are there pretty quickly to help you out. The community here has been great and friendly. Overall in these last 3 months Ive been happier here than my previous apartment complex I lived in for almost 2 years.
Lots of stuff was wrong when I moved in but they were quick to fix them upon request (several cabinet handles broke in kitchen and bathroom, clogged drains within first couple weeks). Floors were not cleaned prior to moving in even though they said they were (found little LEGO and wood pieces all over the loft). I was one day late on rent one time and was charged over $100 and met with a notice that legal action would be taken if I didn’t pay up. Sprouts was close so that’s worth a star.
Governors Park has been a great place to live. I really dont have any complaints. Parking can be a little tight but I can usually find a spot pretty close to my apartment. Dog friendly which is amazing. Apartments are fairly priced for being smack dab in the middle of Fort Collins. I recommend! Its not your BRAND NEW luxury community, but its definitely a nice place for a decent price.
I just want to start by bragging on Rachel and Matt both of which helped emmensly in our moving process and getting acquainted! Rachel was very friendly, understanding, kind, and empathetic as well as Matt. We did have some issues with a neighbor but they both worked very hard to resolve the issue and I’m sure will do the same in the future! Also Kellie has been nothing but warm and inviting I really appreciate everyone here at governors park and hope for many more great years to come! All three deserve a raise!
Living at Governors Park has been phenomenal! The best deal in Fort Collins for sure - updated and renovated units for reasonable prices. The staff are always friendly and more than willing to go above and beyond for their residents. It’s more of a long term home than temporary for sure. Plus you can walk to Starbucks and sprouts, so it’s a good location. I definitely like it here
Very nice place to live. Great green spaces. Location is so nice within walking distance to schools and groceries. Staff is amazing and always helpful. Great neighbors to boot!
I would highly recommend Governors Park to anyone. I am not sure why there were so many negative reviews in the past, but I dont think they accurately reflect the apartment complex now.I have lived at Governors Park for about six months now and held off on posting a review until I felt I could give an honest one. I can say that I have had a wonderful experience so far. The office staff, Matt and Devon have been extremely helpful and, in the one circumstance where I observed them handling a difficult situation, they handled themselves professionally. The buildings are a little bit older, but are well maintained and somewhat updated. Due to their age, there are sometimes some minor issues that need to be repaired. Submitting a work order is easy and done through their website. Each order we have submitted has been handled within a day and has been done correctly the first time.Like I said before, I highly recommend Governors Park.
Rachel, Matt, and Kellie from the office are all fantastic! The apartments are in a great location and quiet - no loud parties or anything like that in the couple of years I lived there. Tons of parking, and Sprouts / coffee / restaurants are basically across the street.Definitely would recommend to anyone looking for a little quieter, more suburban-type apartments while still being super close to downtown.
We have had a great experience with our Governors Park apartment. The rent is very reasonable and the staff is very responsive to questions and maintenance requests. The gym is pretty small, but the pool is nice and the grounds around the apartments are well kept. Its also walking distance to Sprouts! Would definitely recommend.
Such a great place to live. Kind staff, extremely well priced rent for awesome apartments, so dog friendly and they respond really quickly and well to maintenance requests. It is so close to everything including the MAX bus stop which has been great. Also, there are a bunch of massive beautiful trees and green areas around the complex and it is gorgeous!
While searching for a new apartment I stopped by Governors Park and met with Devin. What an extraordinary young lady! She was extremely professional, very knowledgeable, and answered all of my questions. The complex is in a great location and their prices are very competitive. If you are interested in an apartment in the Fort Collins area I highly recommend you speak to Devin at Governors Park!
Governor’s Park was an awesome place to live! There were a few small things I didn’t like. The grass in the summertime is over watered so having a dog was the only reason I couldn’t avoid it at all times. We were also told if someone recommended a friend or family to move (my brother recommended me) that person would get $500 off their next month rent... that never happened. They do have random apartment checks. Ours was checked once, my brothers never got checked. WARNING: Big spiders and wasps. I think that’s pretty inevitable. Bugs get inside homes, but the amount of giant spiders we had on the ground level was horrific. Everything else was very good and we enjoyed the apartment!
This is a great location and the staff is amazing. The apts are nicely updated but not overly priced for the area. My service orders get taken care of quickly.
Just moved here from sister property up the street to save a little money. Seems to be an amazing place so far! Staff is superb!
This is a great place to live, all of the staff are very friendly and very detail oriented. The leasing staff was very accommodating and bend over backwards to assist me in my move in. The maintenance crew responds very quickly to any problems and are very professional. I can’t recommend this apartment complex enough I love being centrally located in Fort Collins I love the amenities that this complex has to offer. I feel very safe and secure and I have some of the best neighbors, so if you’re looking for a great place to live, please keep Govenor’s Park on the top of your list.
I love living at Governor’s Park Apts - right in the heart of Fort Collins...close to everything. The folks who work here are all wonderful, and go the extra mile with residents - you’re not an anonymous face here. Sprouts and shopping are within walking distance; the neighborhood is established and friendly. Great place to live!!
Property is ok .staff is very standoffish. we were referred by friend who used to stay there and said it was great and the officeand mainteance were above and beyond but apparently somethign changed ??
If I could take away stars I would this is by far the worst place I have ever lived! When I moved in the ac wasn’t working few weeks later I noticed the washer was leaking just a little bit sometimes so I went down and asked how much it would be for new ones like some of my neighbors had they told me they won’t replace it even if I paid for it unless it was broke beyond repair the palls are paper thin the place is so bad that I moved out 3 months before my lease was up and even though I wasn’t living there somehow I still had to pay 150+ in water even though I wasn’t using any anyway it’s the type of place where your seven year old neighbor walks around with a handgun oh one more thing they gave out free coupons if you left them a good review on here enjoy
I have been very happy with everything at Governors Park minus a few things management cant really fix or change. i.e. central air, small size washing machines.... but I signed up for that so I cant really discredit the complex for those things. Maintenance guy, Keith I think, is very good and helpful, and the front office girls and guy are exceptionally friendly and take care of anything Ive ever needed on the spot. Thumbs up!
Just moved in at the end of May. Management is friendly, courteous, and respond fast. Apartment complex includes a number of amenities, such as a several swimming pools, a small 24/7 fitness center, and tennis courts. Grounds are well-maintained, and neighbors are quiet and friendly (so far). Also, this is a highly dog-friendly complex, so keep that in mind if you are not so fond of dogs or have cats who dont do well with dogs.I am in a single bedroom, so I can only comment on the condition of those. My apartment, while older, has ample space for me and newer stainless steel appliances (microwave excepted), a wall-mounted AC unit, and older radiator-style heating.I had an issue with my shower, and management was quick to dispatch the maintenance team, who also quickly fixed the issue. The complex is relatively centrally located in FoCo, and there is a convenient strip mall just next to the complex (on the single bed side) that has a Sprouts, Great Harvest Bread Co, UPS facility, and other local eateries.I will update this post as necessary, but as of now I am satisfied with my rental unit and highly recommend the property.
Great location in Midtown. Staff is incredible! They honestly care for the people living in the complex. Pet friendly. The office manager is best in class for sure! Awesome communication and understanding.
I have a 2 bedroom and couldnt be happier. Property management is great and the price is great. I like that they have both gas and charcoal grills
Great location is the only thing great about Governor’s Park. When I moved in the place was a mess, carpet covered in stains and smelled like cats, kitchen drawers broken, and a shower that was painted on the inside to cover who knows what. I complained to the staff member on and he shrugged his shoulder and said it was Sunday. We asked them to make repairs but they only went as far as to send a vacuum carpet cleaner to the apartment, which did nothing. Many of the residents smoke and people never clean up after their pets. The place is a mess and I’m glad I’m out. Oh I almost forgot to mention the 4 month cancellation they sneak into the contract.
Service management is very bad, good location!
I love living here. Property Management is awesome and the location is great. Really dog friendly community.
In the last month I have lived here, it has gotten so much better only due to Rachels respect. She will be the only person who answers my email and has sympathy for the people living in the complex. Other than that, my phone calls and emails get ignored if Rachel is in the office. Rachel is the best person in that office. She has helped me with many things. The two other workers in the office are lazy, will not say hi to you when you walk In because Rachel does all the work and keeps her promises to her customer. Living in these apartments was disgusting and horrible with wasp infestation, ants, and the leaking air conditioning. Rachel is the only person I feel that has everyones back in that whole complex, and in the office. I strongly believe she deserves a raise to take over manager position. I will always be thankful for Rachels help, from the last month she was the only respectable one. THANK YOU RACHEL
Governors Park ROCKS! My spouse and I lived there for three years. Great units (having a legit fireplace was such a treat) with good appliances. Only had to call maintenance a few times over the years and they were always quick to respond and take care of things. Kellie and Matt in the main office are AMAZING and wonderful to work with - so sad we had to move to Longmont and leave!
SUPER WONDERFUL PEOPLE TO WORK WITH IN THE OFFICE ESPECIALLY KELLY AND LOVE THE HEATED POOL! THE MAINTENANCE STAFF IS VERY FRIENDLY AND CLINT IS SO WONDERFUL HE HAS HELPED ME WITH EVERYTHING I ASK AND MORE!
This apartment complex has been the best place Ive lived. Ive never had this level of service and care anywhere else. The management seems to really care about this place. They keep it clean, quiet, nice, friendly, and are very open to help with anything!
The staff is very unprofessional and take their time with everything. I read over my whole lease very carefully and when I moved out, they were trying to charge me for things that were not on my lease. I also had professional cleaners come in after I left, my apartment looked better when I moved out than when I moved in, and they STILL tried to charge me for carpets and blinds. And its pretty much their word against yours. I took this to corporate! It also took TWO MONTHS for me to hear anything back about my deposit and I had to keep calling them. They didnt attempt to reach out to me once. The office manager is VERY RUDE and doesnt seem to care about anything but collecting money in anyway she can. Do NOT rent from here. You will end up more unhappy than anything!
Rachel at the front desk is amazing. But everyone else has treated us rudely when we had questions. Dog bites, frequent barking, metal sticking up from the lawn and dog poop are just some of the things to look forward to if you rent here.
My girlfriend and I really liked the apartment community as well as the layout of the units. Everything was clean and well kept.Something came up last minute [the day before our lease began] and we were unable to move in. The office was absolutely great. They helped us to cancel our lease, kept the option open to resign at no extra cost, and were extremely friendly. They went far above and beyond what I would expect. Will absolutely move to this complex in the future and cannot recommend Governors Park enough!
I lived in the apartment there a little over a year ago. When I got there everyone was really nice to me. Than I got married and my husband showed them his orders from the army which pretty much means that I need to live with him now that we are married. They looked at it and said it was fine for us to leave. On our last day there after we moved everything. They said there was a problem with the orders and said that we have to give them new orders. We did and they never sent us our safety deposit and tore up my husband credit stating that we owe them $2000. DO NOT MOVE HERE!!!!!! They will try to screw you over!!!!!
The apartments are amazing! The location is great and the staff are a pleasure to work with!!! Everyone is so helpful and they all care about what you need in your living environment!
These apartments are very old. There are many issues within the apartment and whenever we send a maintenance request in, the minimal amount of work is done to temporarily fix the issue. For the location and condition that this complex is in, it is not worth the high cost. Our apartment smells of smoke and weed everyday but we do not smoke, we can hear every conversation our neighbors have, and the staff is not helpful. We have recieved several emails and notes threatening fines (sent to the whole complex) but nothing is done to fix the issues they are fining for. These emails and notes also prompt residents to take photos of other residents not following rules to help catch the culprits. The amenities are minimal for a complex in this area. When we moved in the carpets were disgusting and we had to clean everyone over again ourselves. We have had issues including an excessive amount bugs getting into our house when all windows and doors are closed, leaking sink, walls falling apart, windows do not keep house insulated, etc. If you are looking for a place to live in Fort Collins in this area, I would suggest going somewhere else.
We enjoy living here. This complex is right in the middle of FoCo close to everything. Ive met some of my best friends in this complex. The staff takes time to get to know you and your dog which is cool. The front office always has it together and on top of it. My wife and I couldnt be happier here and we were nervous moving from a house to an apartment. We can hear our neighbors occasionally but we knew that going in. Our appliances are new. Our washer/dryer is awesome to have. We looked at places for the same price and didnt have laundry. The rent price is cheap considering that they have great amenities (heated pool, gym, dog park, tanning, grills right by the pool) and the location being dead center of town. You go a block to the north and youre paying double (Cycle Apts). Why spend an insane amount to rent? We can make any place as nice as we need and its helpful to have the staff and maintenance to help us with that. Its not luxury but it feels that way.
As someone who used to work in property management and living onsite, I was very cautious about living in a community that I didnt work in. I chose to live at Governors Park because its 3 miles from campus (getting a break from school and students was great), right next door to Sprouts and other shops, and it had several green spaces and trees (great for dogs if you have one!). Yes, the apartments from the outside may look older, but my studio apartment was remodeled! The studio came with stainless steel appliances (including a dishwasher), a huge bathroom with a washer/dryer set, and a beautiful wood-burning fireplace. My studio also had a huge window, which allowed my plants to thrive. I never had any maintenance issues, except a few little things when I moved in, which was taken care of in a timely manner. The office staff are very warm, professional, and highly communicative! They actually take the time to deliver reminders to your door notifying you when your rent is due! Thank you Governors Park staff for making me feel at home! If youre looking for your next home, I would definitely recommend Governors Park!
My name is Mark Funk. I have been a resident here for 1&1/2 yrs. Your office staff (Kellie Sexton • Area Manager) and her competent staff, including Devin and Matt, also your maintenance team have been very professional, helpful, and accommodating through our residence here. ***** for our time here.Thank you sincerely,Mark Funk and Doreen McGurn.
Matt and Rachel in the office are fantastic they are caring, and more than happy to fix any issue. The answer the phone with a great tone and they are there whenever we need!
My wife and I are on our second lease here at Govenors Park and could not be happier. We have lived in other complexes locally and this one is by far is the best.First off, based on my research of previous post, most were written from 2012 to 2013. At that time perhaps there was a bad administrative/maintenance staff in place. But, we have lived here over a year and we have nothing but kind words for all of the staff. The facility is clean, bug-free and the landscaping is updated ever Monday morning. When we have a maintenance request, it is generally responded to the same day and there is also an emergency number to call after hours for an emergency! And YES they are strict about enforcing provisions of the lease --- but most times it is for the benefit of the tenants.Personally, I have not met an employee that arent friendly. I suppose the rude and obnoxious employees have moved on.There is a good mix of folks residing here now -- young families, seniors and students.
We have found living here to be comfortable, the staff to be really great. any repairs we have needed are done in good time. overall we are pleased to be here.
Received an email from my son that Governors Park sent him that my review is a lease violation to harm the staffs reputation being that its defamation of character. Ergo I will just recommend you rent elsewhere and let the one-star stand on its own.
Amazing complex! The office staff are unbelievable! I highly recommend living here!
Very nice staff and manager. The grounds around the apartments are always kept very nice and the pool is always clean! Great community!
Lovely complex with very nice staff. Dog park is convenient.
When I first toured Governors Park Apartments, I immediately fell in love with the community as well as the location. Its got a park like setting with a bunch of trees throughout which would be nice for hanging out and studying outdoors. I was so disappointed when I was not able to move there because my work ended up transferring me to denver. Go check them out
I truly enjoyed living here. Great location. They discounted rent before I even signed the lease. The office girls were nice and helpful. No complaints. Highly reccomend!!!
I have lived at Governors Park now for two years and have loved it. The ladies in the office are extremely helpful and will aim to resolve any problem youve had quickly. Ive never had to wait more than 24 hours for any maintenance request to be fulfilled, even for minor things. We had an emergency maintenance request one night after hours and they came in less than an hour to fix the problem. The grounds are always well maintained and they are dog friendly which is difficult to come by. I have had many neighbors around me come and go, but Ive never had an issue with noise or anything- because of the way the apartments are set up you dont really share a wall with your neighbor (at least not in mine), and everyone around me for the most part is respectful and friendly. Parking is ample, the only time Ive had an issue is coming home late at night and it just meant I had to part a few buildings down which is no big deal. The apartments themselves are relatively spacious with tons of storage, particularly in the kitchen, and are currently being updated so a lot of the outdated features will be nice and new. They also have a washer and driers! I have never been charged random fees for anything and they make it very clear that if your rent is late, you will be charged a late fee. Thats going to be true anywhere. Same with rent increasing a little less than a hundred dollars a year... thats the market in Fort Collins. Thats been true of all my friends that live in other places in the area as well. In response to barking dogs, I think any apartment complex is going to tell you to call the police. They really cant do anything about it, and some of it comes with the territory of living in a dog friendly apartment. Highly recommend!
Do yourself a favor and avoid even looking at these places.Horrible management. Kyle is new - he will say the wrong thing and get your hopes up that there is light at the end of the tunnel, and then the head woman manager (Christie? Kelly?) will quickly squash any attempt to fix a problem that Kyle left hope for...They are dishonest and when you call in to the office to complain they threaten to ban you from calling the office. She will talk over you the entire time, she does not give you a chance to give your side of the story. When she finally does stop talking, and you start into your points, she will quickly interrupt you and try to steer the conversation away from where you are trying to go with it.My lease is up in a couple of months, and I am definitely not renewing.
Kellie and the maintenance team are absolutely great!!!! Always polite and friendly. I often communicate with them.
All of the apartment staff are polite, curteous and responsive even after the move in. Whenever something has been broken, maintanence fixed it the next day. I appreciated that what they showed us in the display apartment was exactly what we got, it wasn’t overly dressed up to hide anything. It’s a place that I feel safe taking out my garbage after dark.
Overall these places are old, poorly designed, over run by bugs, and horribly managed. Now for story time: Got shown a dirty apartment with a broken window. They said it would be fixed and cleaned up by the time we moved in. On move in day it had been fixed, but there was glass all over the apartment and it was still not cleaned. We argued until given a different unit. But the story gets worse. I was discussing the event with my hairdresser and she told me that the previous tennant was also her client. The previous tennant waited MONTHS (in the winter) for the window to be fixed and eventually just broke the lease to get out of the apartment. The office staff told her not to move anything so the police could come take pictures and file a report within a few hours, then it would get fixed within 72 hours. Police never came to make the report (probably because they where never called)and the staff just stopped returning her calls.
Lived for about 10 months while going to CSU. Everyone in the office is super friendly and acommodating. Maintenance staff is attentive and helpful. Always helpful with mail issues too.
Worst place I have live in a long time. first of all they charge for every last little thing so they dont have to give you your deposit back. After they already charge you for things like new carpet even though the carpet was not new and I live there for 2 years even if it was new its not after 2 years hahaha!!!!! Dont even get my started on the heating if you end up with a basement apartment good luck with the heat. They have whats called radiant heat meaning its coils in your floor thats supposed to rise up thats all fine and dandy until they install the coils in the ceiling and expect the heat to travel down. With common sense this could have been avoided. There fix to it was just turn it up and make your electric bill go through the roof as well. I also had issues with the washer and dryer after the 3rd time calling the maintenance crew I asked for a new one they said okay and told me it would be brand new so I come home from work and our new washer and dryer was installed I open they dryer door to check it out and theres someones clothes in there so I start to look it over and it looks like they dragged that thing out of the early 2000s place is a joke they charge you high dollar and cant even give you top notch service.
Average apartment amenities, the gym has minimal equipment, apartment had wear & tear that wasn’t updated before move-in. Otherwise great deck space, friendly and helpful staff, and great location to everything in FOCO.
I do not recommend leasing with this company. I lived there for a year and just moved out on June 5, 2016. I left my forwarding address with the manager herself when I moved out, and of course, they already had my phone number. However, I got a letter from a collection agency today stating I owed them almost $700 and that I was mailed a Statement of Deposit Allocation. The letter was dated 6/15/16. I never received any Statement of Deposit Allocation. Prior to that, my account had been paid in full. No payment was ever late. So, within 10 days of moving out, the collections agency was sending me a letter. When I called, the person who answered the phone was very rude and stated it was my fault for not providing a forwarding address, even after I explained that I had left it with the manager, whos name is Christy. The corporate Tenant Relations phone number had not returned my call at the time of this review. Also, they never took care of any of my requests. When I moved in, the garbage disposal did not work. The living room window was missing a screen. The back lock was loose. The drain stop in the bathroom sink was too big to fit into the drain. I reported all of these to either Dawn, who assured me they would be taken care of. I called a couple weeks later and spoke with Jasmine, who asked me if it could wait because their staff was so busy. They never took care of the requests.Ive never filed a Better Business Bureau complaint before, but I will be certainly be filing one regarding this company. I recommend you stay away, or you might have cumbersome paperwork and threats to your credit after you move out, too.
I have had nothing but positive experiences in the two plus years I lived at Governors Park Apartments. They have revamped the entire complex and never stopped improving to make the community better. I highly recommend giving them a chance.
I would give them a worse review, but thats not possible. the management here is not professional at all, Christy is a terrible manager, she picks and chooses what she wants to enforce. The AC here does not work, at all. The back doors fall apart, the washing machines always break, and no ones water drains properly. And the worst part is, it does not get fixed. They jacked up the rent this year due to wasted outdoor upgrades and landscaping. Do not come here. Avoid like the plague.
They are really good about getting you moved in fast and are really nice in whole. However there is just to many negatives to go with it. Rent climbs over 100 dollars everytime you try to renew (so dont plan much more then one lease). The maintenance does half***ed jobs. Me and my roommate went in to get something replaced and they just reattached the same broken piece. Witch broke the first time we touched it. They spam your email all the time about rating this place and cleaning up your dog. Witch is cool they care, but really they just care about the place looking good to get people to move in. We also had a bug that happened to are rent with renewal that they where aware happened and we got informed that we owed money in 3 days (with no heads up in advance when they new about it) or it was late. On a bug we had no clue over. Overall clean place, the people who live here are nice. Just dont expect the office to have your back.
Great apartments at a great price. The staff are awesome and really personable!
Friendly, very informative, cozy neighborly location, willing to help its tenants with all sort of situations.
They office staff here and incredible and are always willing to help. The property looks clean and upkept as well
These people are crooks! They towed our mothers car who was in town for Christmas and they towed her car and damaged it.
A great complex with caring staff. Amenities are nice, and part friendly!
Do not live here! They have poor communication with their residents and are out to collect your entire deposit (and more)! Don’t let the nice pictures fool you because the apartments don’t actually look like that.
Very professional staff; easy access to local businesses; great location and great service in general.
The staff is great too deal with and very helpful. Great location.
The entire staff has been great, they work as a team, and are all very helpful, professional y friendly.
Great location and rents for updated apts
The location to nearly everything is TerrificProperty always in best of shapePool is TerrificStaff, management are the Best!
We love the community here. Never felt so at home.
The location is nice, but the cheap apartments are way overpriced and the management is horrid! They rented me an ant-infested apartment and despite a year of asking did not fix the problem. Whats worse, when moving out, refused to use my pet deposit to help pay for carpet stains, stopped communicating with me, and called a collection agency on me! Avoid this place!
First, I’m glad that I read these reviews before signing any lease. I asked to see the apartment before signing any paper work (this was after paying a $100 application fee and $350 deposit) on the day of my move it.When I entered the apartment the kitchen sink was on the floor, the fridge and oven were both laying in their sides on the living room carpet which was splattered with stains and the cabinets were missing handles.I told them that this was not a good first impression, and that I didn’t want to go forward with the lease—their response was that they could only refund $150 of the $350 deposit. This seemed unfair as they told me I wouldnt be able to move in on the agreed upon move in date. After this initial experience, and reading the other reviews, it seemed like the best option was to get out as quickly as possible before any other surprises arose.Long story short, this place should be a last resort, and if you do decide to move there be to be sure to see the apartment (not the showing room apartment which is completely different) before any application or deposit is processed.
Super friendly staff. Very clean apartments!
Leasing staff is terrible. Matt has no people skills and no respect for elders. Id rather be homeless then ever rent from this place again.
Beware. Horrible place to live. Outdated, rundown not worth rent charged. Turned over for collection for charges in addition to deposit amount the day moved out. Received 2 collection letters before an itemized detail of proposed damages. Had to call management for itemized accounting of charges. After paying charges received another collection letter. Appliances in apartment outdated. Building is in need of repair and maintenance.
Horrible experiences at Governors Park apartments. Parents please be warned NOT to sign the lease for your child!! Apartment completely flooded and rent still demanded.FIND ANOTHER COMPLEX!
Great place to live, small community feel, and the new grounds guys are AMAZING!
The women in the front office have a attitude. If you ask them simple question, they get mad because they have to do there job. Especially Devin
There are many reasons why you should not live here. I could compose a well written, however, incredibly long review. So I will be mindful of your time in apartment searching and just keep to the bullet points.1. Management is unprofessional, condescending, and incompetent.2. Dog park is small, not maintained, and has many hazards.3. Pool is advertised as heated, but has been broken for years according to long time residents. Also the grills seldomly work and are not maintained.4. Updates are a joke. They show you the model, but ask to see an actual unit. It doesnt matter of the floor plan, but really give it a good look over.5. I understand in apartment living that neighbors are not always a treat, but the FC PD seems to make appearances here surrounding apartment buildings weekly. However, we have met many great people here.6. Appliances are nice in the kitchen, but the AC, W/D, and the cabinets are old, not maintained and in need of repair that management refuses to fix or replace.7. The plumbing produces a weird smell coming from the sink and leaves residues.Hope this helps.
Do not move in here they try and rob you for every last cent I wish I would of listened to all the reviews that said dont move in. Definitely not worth it way overpriced and most of the buildings are falling apart it was built in the 70s. Look else where
$450 for a security deposit, and they kept it.These people are thieves, they build you up to think youre going to get the place then they deny you. Just to keep your money. They are selling False hopes, Im turning them into the BBB. If youre smart avoid this place at all costs!!!
Terrible signed on and didnt read deep enough into the paperwork what looked like a deposit was all just nonrefundable fees. After moving into an apartment with no stove that they promised would only take 24 hours to install had to wait 3 weeks while fighting with them to get it. Worst place Ive ever lived
Excellent staff! Always helpful.
Looks Good at first glance but look again before you sign. We are here till June of 2011. We have not had a good go with Governors Park Apts. Several issues we will not be renewing our lease. Managment, facilities, etc not good.
Dealing with the management of this place is awful! The cost of this place is outrageous, for what is offered. The walls are VERY thin. The place is very outdated. He electric heated coils will make your utilities sky rocket. The window AC unit is not effective. The management practices and accounting practices are illegal. If you chose to live here make sure you check your online bill often. You may see some additional charges or charges that where included on your lease appear.
Renting from Govenors park has been less than desirable. I have always paid my rent on time and the one time I didnt, I gave them a heads up call and was still charged the $150 late fee which I completely understood. It is a business and they have certain protocols for a reason. I in now way am in bad standings with the property, so my review comes completely from the standpoint of a dissapointed naive renter, who let slum lords get the best of her. When I was originally shown the apartments I was very pleased with the layout, updated appliances, and overall feel of the place and decided to rent here almost on the spot. Unfortunately, I did not ask to see my specific unit and that is where I went wrong. They showed me a very nicely put together apartment and then delivered me a water damaged, ant infested, poorly put together shack of a living space. Every single cabinet has water damage in it, the drawers cannot have handles on them in the kitchen or they wont open fully due to their juxtaposed positioning, the sliding closet doors come off of the track if I so much as look at them the wrong way, and the entire place is permeated with an odd almost mildewy smell. I was promised the exact same layout of the show unit and received a smaller less open concept version with outdated features. I have not yet mentioned the washer and dryer, which will sky rocket your water and electricity as you have to wash very small loads at a time and the dryer will take 2-3 cycles on high heat to get anything completely dry. The grounds are another issue entirely. The dog excrement surrounding the building is offensive and leaves a disgusting odor everytime you go outside, they have yet to hire any sort of service to solve this hazard. There are raccoons that run rampant through the parking lot and grassy areas and I have actually experienced one attempting to tear through my window screen on my garden level apartment. There is also dangerously rusty metal lawn edging that poses a physical risk to any animal or human that could be running in the open space. I just am so dissapointed that I did not do better research and choose an apartment complex that actually upheld their end of a lease agreement, because for the amount of money that I do pay each month I expect a certain level of quality and I have not under any circumstances had that with this complex. I woukd suggest that anyone looking for an apartment in Fort Collins avoid this property specifically, and any property managed by the same company. You will regret every experience you have here.
The office people dont respond to emails. Their website has false information about apartment availability. They never delivered a bill for my rent payment, and then when I paid a day late they charged a $150 late fee.
Worst place ever! I wouldnt recommend this place to anyone! The maintenance on the apartment is awful—when things break they take weeks to get fixed. We went two weeks without a working stove or oven, and our dryer was never repaired. They are not pet friendly like they claim to be and the pet deposit does not cover damages only the privilege to have a pet. Youll never see your deposit back. Management is the absolute worst to deal with and the amenities, including the tanning bed and gym, were either broken or closed most of the time. Over priced run down luxury apartment is a joke! Renter beware.
This place is run by two young ladies and I say YOUNG ladies because these two girls are extremely snobby and disrespectful. I was waiting for my friend to come out of one of the Apartments and I heard of the girls who runs office turn and talk about one of the tenants of the building who was walking on the wood chips on the premise she turned to the girl she worked with and said I wonder if that girl had a lapses of retardation they later mentioned how she wasted the time of the workers who did the project. So not only do these people rip you off by showing you one place and giving you a complete other but they also dont mind talking about the people who pay the overpriced rent that pays their wage! I am even more offended because I have sister who is mentally challenged what kind of person thinks its okay to talk about people like that!!! On top of that they had the nerve to ask me if threw a cigarette on the ground when I said no I dont smoke they very condescendingly said Okay? After hearing all this within a 5 min time frame I had half the mind to pop one of them for their very rude and disrespectful behavior. They definitely need to get more mature and respectful people running this place.
I went into Governors Park last week to look at a two bedroom apartment for my boyfriend and I. The apartment was posted as $1,100 a month but after all the fees they tacked on it ended up being $1300 a month. I still signed the welcome letter (BIG MISTAKE!) and wrote them a check for the deposit or application fee as they called it for $450. I did fill out an application, but I was informed they would NOT move forward with anything until they received my boyfriends application as well. After discussing it with him we decided it was not our best option and too expensive for what it was. The next day they called me and I told them this. AFTER I told them it would be too expensive and WITHOUT receiving my boyfriends application, they still cashed my check for $450. I called them and they informed it was the holding fee and application fee and there was nothing they could do since I signed the welcome letter. An application fee for applications that were NEVER ran. They literally charged me $450 for the 20 minutes they spent with me walking through an apartment. It may be legal, but it is terrible business. They refused to do anything and both women who work there were extremely rude. I regret not reading all of the reviews on here before going there! Dont make the same mistake I did, Governors Park is a horrible, greedy company!
