We were in town for a wedding reception and were impressed by the facility. For the 100-125 guests in attendance, the pre-dinner cocktails and snacks were held in an appropriately sized room where it wasn’t just a big box. There were hallways and other places to sit so we could all spread out or mingle as desired. The dining room was full, and the sit down dinner was organized and delicious! I went to the hotel this past weekend for a celebration of my birthday and we took a girls trip to the hotel and stayed in the Regal King Suite. The staff knew that it was my birthday so when I arrived in my room there was a beautiful flower arrangement all kinds of little goodies and gifts and cupcakes I felt like a princess. I really need to thank Lena for all that she did for me with the staff. This hotel goes out of their way and provides excellent customer service and makes you feel like youre at home. Kristian was great at recommending places to dine and things to do. The room was immaculate and beautiful from top to bottom I had to take so many pictures because I could not believe I was there. The restaurant served an amazing breakfast that look like it came out of a movie. This hotel is definitely a gem that has been overlooked for way too long. If you ever get a chance to stay in Fond du Lac I hope youll consider this hotel.

No pool as advertised, its close to everything in town. Fantastic beds, leaky but cool showers and amazing robes.

This hotel is incredible! The lobby is stunning, the rooms were amazing. The bed was extremely comfortable and had a TV that came out of the footboard! This was one of the nicest hotels I’ve ever stayed in and all of the staff were extremely friendly and helpful. 100% recommend and I will definitely be coming back to this hotel!

The room was very pretty and the bed was comfortable. The pool was closed. The restaurants menu didnt look very appealing so, we ate somewhere else. The staff were all very nice and helpful. The hotel didnt have a machine to get a drink anywhere.

What an amazing place to stay! A classy /modern feel with a touch of antique vibes. The breakfast was very well prepared. It’s also a great place to enjoy a cup of coffee. Multiple bars are located just off the Main Street. I would stay her again!!

This was a fantastic little gem. All the employees we encountered were courteous and professional. Our stay was fantastic. The decor is really nice - not overdone but upscale enough for fond du lac- just right. Room was immaculate, too. I would 100% recommend going out of your way to stay here. Only didn’t like that I had to go to the 4th floor to park. Would have preferred to be right there w the lobby, but was workable.

Excellent hotel. Attentive and responsive staff. The wedding venue here was very nicely decorated and made for a memorable day.

Positive: It was clean and nice looking. Negative: It looked a lot nicer than it actually was. The bar closed way too early. The bathroom doors are really awful. The refrigerator was too small to put virtually anything into it and it also wasnt very cold.

The accommodations were wonderful and the staff was great! There are what looks to be fun places to visit nearby or within walking distance. I would definitely go back if the opportunity arose.

Awesome place. Great room. I stay there when doing the downtown bars. I like the elevators late at night. I always stay on the top floor. Be hard to climb that many steps feeling well at 2 30 am. I would be proud to bring a lady back to that room after the bars. Imagine it shall never happen but I would. I recommend it highly!

Picked up curbside Christmas dinner. The food was fantastic! Wonderful flavors. The order was for 2 and their was more than enough for us to f egg knot another meal. Superb meal! Thank you for a special holiday meal.

Love this hotels service and good vibes. Conveniently located in downtown close to some local establishments we also like to visit. This hotel gives you the luxurious-old time feel as opposed to the typical chains. The lobby is absolutely beautiful and rooms are refreshing.

We stayed here because my daughters reception was here. First, this hotel is beautiful! Reception also went extremely well, with Thai assisting with every detail to make it perfect. Our food was delicious and everyone enjoyed their dinner. The following day we had an issue with our air conditioning. I called and maintenance was up here within 10 minutes and had it fixed within 10 minutes. Thank you for making our stay lovely!

The room was nice, however when we booked the room it only said 101 a night, but I got charged double. When my boyfriend called to figure out why, apparently it charges that rate per person, which he didnt see anywhere when booking the room. Not going there again.

Wedding venue event.Hotel is beautiful.That’s was the only good experience about the evening.The bartender on main floor keep jumping up on the back bar to reach the top, top shelf! Shoes on the back bar. I never saw him wipe it off.Dinner was supposed to be served at 6:00 but they held us in a hallway until that time and finally let us in the dining room.We were served a cold meal at 6:45.First impression was that it would be a great weekend getaway but not after last night.They could learn lot from the historical Lowell Inn in Stillwater MN.I’d drive 6 hours to stay at the Lowell before driving 40 min. to Fond Du Lac.

Wonderful hotel and do beautiful! My only complaint is how dark the rooms are. My husband is legally blind due to retinitis pigmentosa and he could not see in the room at all.

We attended a wedding here and it was a beautiful venue. Very fancy, classy decor and the space was very fitting for a wedding with a lot of space to spread out. Our one qualm was the food, which wasnt great, but otherwise it had great atmosphere.

The decor of the interior and my room is very nice and tasteful, giving an air of exclusivity. Thats where the positive ends. Staff were not focused on customers and appeared more interested in each other. Air conditioning in my room was poor, and as one of the days was 90+, thats a big deal. Breakfast was included in my room charge, but after waiting 20 minutes for someone to take my order, I left. Dinner was a joke. A 14 oz steak should not have 8 ounces of gristle. If it does, DONT SERVE IT! And then to have the cook (clearly not a chef) try to tell me that just the way it is, was insulting. Most upscale restaurants I have been to in my life would take care of persons meal. I was charged as if nothing had occurred.This just goes to show, a nice looking decor does not a good hotel make. Even if I had to sleep in the car, I would not stay there again.And the final insult was I actually paid for all of that!

Not your typical hotel chain! This is freshly remodeled and beautifully re-vitalized hotel with class. Whether for business or personal occasion, this is the place to have it. Rooms are updated with style and great location near local establishments.

This boutique hotel is exquisitely appointed and decorated. We were there for a December wedding. The Crystal Ballroom is an incredible space with a side room to get away from the loud music for a quite conversation. The banquet food was good, the servers and bartenders were VERY attentive and accommodating, and the place was clean and inviting. We stayed in a room on the 5th floor. Although a bit smaller than new hotels would build, it was so well laid-out that the slightly smaller size didnt detract from the wonderful experience. We ate breakfast at Jazzmines, which was great. The covid seating capacity was frustrating, but that is temporary. Overall an impressive experience overall.

Hotel is beautiful but our room was very small and awkwardly laid out! It was a shame because our friends paid the same for their room and theirs was larger and had a better lay out. Must just be the luck of the draw.

Great location, nice renovation. Friendly staff. My issues happened with the room itself. Toilet didnt work (would not refill when flushed), fireplace remote didnt work, and the heat would not go above 63 all night so the room was freezing. We ended up checking out at 6am because we were freezing. I wish the stay went better as I love the idea of this hotel in FDL.... When front desk was told about the issues the next morning, I was told they would take care of it for the next guest. Doesnt help me much.....

Very beautiful after the remodel. Professional staffing for a wedding i attended to. Decor inside has some Fond du Lac history throughout. I have not seen the rooms but i heard they are very nice!

The only thing I wasnt impressed with in our room was the toilet. Was small and cheap looking compared to the rest of the room. And wish the room had a microwave. But other than that the hotel was very nice and clean and the people at the front desk to check in and out were very friendly. I would go back

Beautiful and clean hotel. Staff were very helpful, nice and welcoming. We ate dinner at Jazzmines restaurant right inside the hotel which was delicious drinks and food. The service was quick and everyone cared about how we were doing or if we needed anything. Highly recommend visiting and I plan to come back again.

Oh my. Where to start? Our room was small, BUT! BIG on style. Just beautiful. It was big enough for me and my wife. The bed was really comfortable with pillows that were really comfy. The bathroom - loved the shower. The lobby just blew our minds, so regal. If we ever stay in Fond Du Lac again we will be back. Also the staff was super friendly, and helpful. Thanks so much.

Wonderful, beautiful. Excellent job restoring the 1920s feel but with modern convenience. I wish I took photos, because it is really beautiful. The people went far and above to accommodate me. They helped me out so much, I consider myself blessed that I stayed there. Highly recommend.

Went to tour for having my wedding their and the people their are so friendly and kind. The place is so beautiful and would highly recommend going there to stay or hosting any special event.

Had the fish fry tonight (carry out). It was amazing! The fish was excellent, the slaw was fresh and light and the tarter sauce was the best I’ve ever had. This was arguably one of the best fish dinners I’ve had. Well done Retlaw! You have a return customer for life.

Loved this hotel! It has an old school feel that is a nice change from the ordinary chain hotel. They are still finishing renovations but you only really notice when you come in from parking garage. A lot of places within walking distance of the hotel for food and drinks. The air conditioner in room worked great! I love a cold room and usually in a hotel I sweat all night. I was comfortable and it was amazing. Top notch on cleanliness too. From the looks of it it is a great place to stay if you are in town for business. Lobby bar looked really cool I didnt go to it but was pretty popular.

The Hotel Retlaw restaurant is a fantastic place with outstanding food and service. Everyone in our group was very pleased with their lunch. I ordered the smoked salmon sandwich...I was expecting a salmon fillet between 2 pieces of bread. Instead I was happily surprised with an open faced sandwich with shaved smoked salmon. It was by far the best salmon sandwich I have every had. I highly recommend giving them a try, you will be very happy you did.

The decor in the lobby, restaurant and rooms is inspired. Rainfall shower heads, comfortable beds and furnishings, and excellent service. The restaurant cuisine and cocktails were delicious. The service was a little slow, but the ambience made the wait somewhat pleasant.I was so glad my wife found this newly polished (renovated) gem in Fon du Lac. We had a great weekend getaway.

I can’t express how much I love this hotel.I Stay here a lot when I’m in town for work.The amenities are top notch. The restaurant has delicious food that is vegetarian / vegan friendly.A coffee shop onsite.But honestly the best part is the staff. Super friendly and personable.

Beautiful hotel! But looks are skin deep. They skimped where they shouldnt have. The bedding is rough, mattress uncomfortable. Food was good but not worth the high price tag. They pour beer in a glass that contains half the amount of a normal glass paying $5. Street light shined into our window even with curtains closed. Located across street from bar, noisy people. I wish they would have given a bit more attention to the main purposes of a hotel and it could be 5 star.

This is a very cool historic hotel in downtown FDL that they have done a great job renovating. The lobby is gorgeous and the rooms are very nice. We also checked out the lobby bar which features an array of craft cocktails. I had a Manhattan that was smoked at the bar. Oh, and the people who work here are helpful and friendly. I have high hopes for this venture. We will stay here whenever we are back home from now on.

I have not had the pleasure of staying at the hotel yet, but I frequent it for the restaurant, cafe, and bar. Recently, I went in for a massage in the new spa on the lower level. If you have a chance to go down there, you wont be disappointed! Its a beautiful space with warm, inviting staff and the massage was to die for!

First off this place looks amazing. Has an amazing feel and it is so local to everything you would want to do and fond du lac you have to stay here. Drawbacks no rooms with jacuzzis! How does that happen? Showers are awesome as well though definitely must check out!

I wish that I had taken pictures of this beautiful hotel. I felt as if I were transported back in time. The look and feel is classic but the offerings are totally modern. I recommend a visit and a tour to all and see first hand what I experienced.

Fond du Lac locals: Go to this Hotels restaurant!!! We live in Madison, home of fabulous food, and Hotel Retlaw has unbelievably good food!!! The Sunday brunch was out of this world. The service was stellar, the food was timed perfectly, so we never felt rushed and we never waited too long,. The pastries were heavenly light and flaky. And the value was great!!!

Charming hotel, lovingly redone. Location, service, rooms, food, top notch. Stay here, you will not be disappointed and explore what the town and surrounding area has to offer.

Beautiful remodel! Rooms are well done! It will be nice when the gym is complete. The restaurant is hit or miss.. first time was great, second was terribly slow and food was awful. This was with no one else in the restaurant, so I can’t imagine the quality when they are busy. I’m sure it will come around, will visit again.

We had a fantastic weekend away at Hotel Retlaw! The staff was wonderful and very helpful. The room was beautiful and I absolutely adored the ambiance. I’m already planning another trip here!

Delicious food. Elegant ambiance. I love this place. The Seafood Cavatappi was outstanding. Huge chunks of seafood in a spicy, creamy sauce. People need to get in here and give it a try. Dont let this place disappear!

This is a nice hotel at a good price. The bar was great, good drinks, and the tender was good to chat with.

While the hotel itself is still under renovation for a spring opening, the lobby is absolutely beautiful! Clearly an upper scale place that adds a much needed bit of class to the downtown area. Staff are knowledgeable, friendly, and willing to talk about the rumored haunted areas of this classic location.

Update: we received a call from the new manager of the hotel and he assisted us with this issue and we no longer are needing to pay the extra fee. The new manager was very nice and the hotel should have had him sooner.

Ok read the web site carefully. I checked in with the 25.00 food coupon. They tried to tell me I had to spend more than 25.00 to receive it. I had them go on their web site and it was not on there. Too bad for them. Under construction. NO gym. No gym near by. This hotel is not for the business traveler. It would be nice for an anniversary. A lot of show, not much go. A real disappointment. If you can book a room for 65.00 it would be a nice place to sleep.

I enjoyed our stay here, very classy setting and the rooms were very modern. I liked the setup in the room, especially the foot board TV. Only stayed one night but we’ll definitely come back if we are in the area again.

Beautiful vintage themed hotel. Staff was very helpful and friendly. Rooms were large and well appointed with modern conveniences like USB and wireless chargers, nice TVs, big fluffy bath towels and a seriously comfy bed and pillows. BIG THANK YOU to the restaurant downstairs for having thoughtful and delicious vegan options on their menu! In the Midwest vegan usually means an iceberg lettuce salad and French fries. I was delighted by a huge, gorgeous and very colorful vegetable salad followed by a veggie stuffed sweet potato. My omnivorous dining companions thoroughly enjoyed their meals as well. Two big thumbs up 👍👍

Very diappointing.very expensive. Sent there for a wedding. No information on where the wedding and reception being held. No information on where the pool was. No in room information on anything. No ice machine on our floor. Nice remodel but needs better services. Plus room was not ready and we reserved it months ago.

Like the renovations. Looks nice. Service was good. Was disappointed there was no microwave to use. Im on a stick diet and was not able to have the food I can have.

Beautiful hotel, room was smaller than it looked in pictures and one of the queen beds sloped down on one side. Beds were not very comfortable unfortunately.

Very elegant. And the dining staff was spot on. Very knowledgeable about the items on the menu. Fondue Lac soup was unbelievably good!

I wanted to give a good review, but unfortunately, I cannot. I booked a room for a friend coming into town for a funeral. She was confronted at check-in with an inadequately disclosed pet fee of $100.00. While I can forgive this, I cannot forgive the later actions of the hotel. When we returned shortly after midnight, the doors were locked, and the hotels phone number went straight to voicemail, leaving us stranded outside for quite some times. After eventually gaining entry and discussing this with the (very polite) front desk manager on duty, we were told nothing could be done without the approval of the hotel manager Peter. This is absolutely the wrong way to run a luxury hotel and I cannot recommend the Retlaw for anyone seeking accommodations in the area. Better to stay at a Holiday Inn or something similar. This was unfortunate.

Food and atmosphere is fantastic. Had a piano player and bass player for music. A nice formal dinner that is a bargain compared to eating at a similar establishment in a big city. A great night out!

Great, restored hotel!

This hotel is a diamond in Fond Du Lac. Everything is bespoke, attention to detail at everything they do and great food. We always drive here from Sheboygan to enjoy this place and we were never let down.

We had a sweet filled breakfast last Tuesday. The atmosphere was lovely. I had hoped for eggs or a bagel_ too many sweets.
