I had a short term lease here and only stayed here for five months. The apartment are clean, quiet, and updated. The community around lakeside is wonderful and full of fun things to do like free concerts. The only down side I noticed while living here is there a good amount of road noise coming off 2499. Other then that it was a fantastic place to live.

The maintenance guys have always been great & they respond so fast! They tried to remove the birds nest way up high on my balcony. We couldnt even sit outside because of all the bird poop and constant birds. Unfortunately even after the maintenance man scraped the nest, the birds came back b/c part of the nest was still there. So I had to do my best to clean it up myself, which was very hard since its very high up and I was trying really hard not to fall to my death from 3 floors up. I hope the birds stay away now. EEEK!

The worst apartment Ive ever stayed in. Trust me dont choose this one if you want to come to Lakeside. The management is rude to customers over anything that inconveniences them. The fire alarms, those things that are extremely loud and can easily wake up a neighborhood, go off almost monthly here for no reason at all. To top it all off, when they do go off everytime it ends up flooding someones apartment as well as the ones below it. This has happened to me and now my neighbor as Im typing this. No compensation. Then they send the cheapest contractors to work on whatever needs fixing whether it be your apartment randomly flooding or whatever else. But wait, there is NEVER any notification these people are coming to work on your apartment. Last time they come, I woke up to two men staring at me while I sleep who spoke no English at all. Theres so much more I can go on about like how they upped our rent $200 or how they STILL havent brought back my smoke detector they took months ago when my place flooded because of their faulty fire alarm system. Fun fact, the fire alarm has gone off over 6 times since Ive been here, and theres never been a fire! Im sure the fire department is as tired of dealing with these guys as I am. If you want a peaceful place to live where you are given respect, privacy, and all the other basic things. Dont choose this place. Ive never wrote a review for anything until I stayed here too, if that tells you just how bad this place is. Especially for what they charge.Edit: I forgot to mention the new trash policy they implemented a few months back because they wanted to spend as little as possible. So instead of running trash pick ups multiple times weekly, they now only do it once a week. So you are only allowed two trash bags in your trash can per week or you end up doing the labor. I wouldnt care if I didnt pay A TRASH PICK UP FEE MONTHTLY. Additionally, if any trash falls out of your bin while youre away for any amount of time you will be immediately fined for it. Literally, had a lunch meat bag you get from grocery stores fall out of my trash waiting days for them to come get it and got fined. This place is a joke in all seriousness. This is the worst luxury apartment Ive stayed in, if you can call it that. Break ins happen often too. Youll see them on the other reviews and how the management doesnt do anything to notify anyone of it. My other neighbor had his Mercedes broken into and a large amount of cash stolen out and they did absolutely nothing to help the situation. Well that is except for hiring some security person who stays parked in one spot by the center of town all night long who is always just going through their phone. Everytime I pass at night no matter if its 12 at night or 4 am this security guard is on their phone in their car. (you can visually see the phone screen light and them playing on it everytime you pass)I apologize for this being so long, but when you are spending this much money to stay in an apartment you should at least have the right to know what youre getting into. Save yourself the time, stress, patience, and hassle from having to deal with this place and find almost any other apartment.

I have lived at the Nexus Lakeside Apartments for 2 years. I love where I live! The locations is outstanding!!! The amenities are outstanding! My apartment has very high ceilings, wooden floors, lots and lots of windows, a wonderful large balcony, an elevator to the 2nd floor, stainless steal appliances, large counters in the kitchen and bathroom, large sink in the kitchen, double sinks in the bathroom, large garden tub, washer and dryer, ceiling fans, many lights, and carpeting in the bedroom. The hallways leading up to the apartment doors are temperature controlled. There is a nightly trash valet on the weekdays. What I dont like: Only 1 small closet in the entry and 1 walk-in closet in the bathroom. Parking on the weekends, especially Friday nights can be difficult to find close to the entry of the apartment building. This makes it challenging to carry groceries, etc.. The foyer and elevator are not cleaned very often. Neighbors often put their garbage out on days that are not trash days. Every night I can hear the next door neighbors dog barking. I believe the dog is in a kennel and barks for 6 to 7 hours non stop. The outside windows have never been cleaned. I live on the second floor and have lots of windows. The rent has jumped and I am hoping is not about to happen again when it is time to renew the lease again.Over all, the place is incredible. I hope to live here for a long time! You can not beat the movie theatre, restaurants, walking trails, lake, dog park, and access to just about everywhere. You will not be disappointed!

Do not move here if you have children. Residents will beat on their ceiling no matter what time of day it is and then lie to the office staff about calling the police on you and why. Office staff is very unaccommodating and insensitive to financial issues during a pandemic as well. I will be moving out of this wretched place as soon as possible. Save yourself the trouble. Kyle Gaskill tried his best to accommodate me but it was seemingly out of his hands.EDITED TO ADD: once I declined a mediation meeting with the parties that are harassing me I was told by Melanie Saunders not to contact the office anymore for help because they “tried to resolve it and I declined”.Enough said.

The traffic on FM2499 is ludicrous. Loud cars/trucks/motorcycles, even sirens from emergency vehicles. It is as if you have the windows constantly open. Now, they have put out extremely bright lights in the trees lining the street (FM2499). The apartment is now lit up all night. The lights turn off at sunrise, not when businesses close at 10 pm. This would be fine except for the windows that are unreachable to put anything on them. This is a major inconvenience for people who have to work a normal day job. Not only do we get a woken up constantly by the vehicle noises outside, we now have an intrusive light to illuminate the entire apartment. The moon could be seen out the window and it was beautiful. The stars could be seen. Now, all we can see are these tree lights.

I lived here for 4 years, renewing 3 times. BEST property manager and support and maintenance staff I have ever experienced. It starts with Melanie who is the most honest, accountable and friendly PM Ive encountered in 10+ years of renting. Its not even close. Any time I had a question, it got answered promptly. If the rare mistake happened, it got fixed with zero delays or excuses. I frequently shared suggestions and each was listened to; many were acted upon (adding a recycling bin in the mail room for example). This is a great location too! Walking distance to restaurants and nearby Grapevine lake trails. A short drive from all your essentials. Safe. Maintained well compared to most facilities. If youre comparing this property to a similar residence, I highly recommend opting for a team you can count on. Its not just one less thing to worry about. Its something to look forward to. Treat them with respect and they will take care of you. That said, should Melanie ever leave, all bets are off! I love my new place, but the management is nowhere near the caliber I grew accustomed to. Tell them Kyle sent you.

Last week our vehicle was stolen from Nexus Lakeside, right outside of our apartment. The previous evening another resident had $2k stolen out of his vehicle. When Nexus asked me to write an incident report, I asked them to share these crimes with our community so other families could be aware and take extra precaution. I was told it would look bad on the property if they notified the residents of the theft occurring. I was also told that my vehicle being stolen wasnt serious enough of a crime to issue a Crime notification to our community. Ive been very disheartened by Nexus lack of attention and sensitivity to the protection of their residents property.

We spent out of pocket to get rid of them.I dont expect the leasing staff too look for fleas, before leasing. But, it was a huge inconvenience.Other than that our experience thus far has been great, its a beautiful property, with so much potential just wish the hallways and stairwells would be cleaned. Do not move in here. I ignored the reviews and paid the price. I moved out after 1 year and it was awful. The walls are thin - you’ll hear everything including music and conversations. There are bugs everywhere. The dumpster is always full and trash is allowed to be left in the hallways. This is probably the reason for the bugs. The office staff is nice but will do nothing to help. My AC went out 3 times in the summer and my hot water tank had issues the entire time. There are other places in the area that are much nicer for around the same price. I ended up moving out early and just paying out the lease to get out. I’m sure the staff will have a nice response with an apology to this review. They’re really good at apologizing but don’t actually fix anything. Please stay away.

I only lived here a year. The apartments are really nice, I loved my apartment it was quiet and I never had any issues with noise or bugs. I only had two maintenance request and they were super fast to come out and fix what was need. The office staff were really nice and friendly. Nice dog friendly complex and there are lots of dogs. That is where the problems with start, I was amazed at how often while out walking my dogs Id come across dog poop on the sidewalk. How do you allow your dog to poop on the sidewalk and then not at least kick it to the grass? but Id find a new pile everyday. Each building has security gates. My building had 4 gates. two of those gates were exit only gates. Well residents would do all sorts of things to wedge these gates open, rocks, ty wraps on the handle to avoid walking 40 seconds to the entry gate. Which overall shouldnt matter because just about EVERYONE knows the security code. When I moved in the Frontier internet guy called and asked if it was still **** because he had not been to the buildings in at least six months. Not that these gates would stop a true criminal who wanted to get in but still. I wouldnt recommend getting and paying extra for covered parking. I did because of the wonderful spring hail storms in North Texas. a couple of weeks after I moved in a bad storm was coming through the area so I headed home about 8 pm to find someone parking in my assigned covered spot as the storm was bearing in. Called the tow company and they said there is nothing they can do without the office permission (you dont get a sticker or anything for your car they just have it in their system as your spot) luckily for me the storm didnt hit the area but the next day I contacted the office and even had a picture of the car in my spot. They told me that what they do is tag the car and if its still there after 24 hours they tow it. So basically I can just snag anyones spot and move it after the storm goes by? They were nice enough to refund me one months covered parking fee but that wouldnt have covered the cost and damage to my car had that storm destroyed my glass sunroof. I ended up paying more to upgrade to a garage because of that. Parking was horrible if you got home after 7 or 8 at night so an assigned spot or garage was almost required. When I first moved in (March 2019) it was a super nice and quiet area. But then they opened Fairway Drive back up around Grapevine lake and my lord. The number of people who use Fairway to cut from Flower Mound to Grapevine/Southlake and back to avoid 2499 and the construction of 121 is horrendous. so Many people cutting through in the morning and at night and a lot of them are speeding through. From about 5pm - 7pm the stoplight at Lakeside and 2499 backs up like crazy if you need to turn left out of the complex from all the people cutting through. Due to cars parking on the street its nearly impossible to see in either direction when trying to pull out onto any of the streets through Lakeside. Often I had to just close my eyes and floor it to make sure I didnt get run over or T-Boned by all the traffic. I actually did want to stay, I originally had a one bedroom but then got custody of my daughters so I tried to upgrade to one of their townhouses they had available. The townhouses are usually hard to come by and two families moved out of two units in the building next to mine so I contacted the office to upgrade. They told me they were available but only for immediate move in. Well let me move in then? Nope.. I had to put in a 60 day notice to upgrade/move to another unit and they couldnt hold either townhouse for 60 days. Eventually I found a much bigger 3 bedroom house just 1.8 miles up the street for $700 a month cheaper than their 3 bedroom townhouse. Overall Id have no problem living here. The staff is really nice, maintenance was great, the apartments are really nice. They are sticklers for the rules and you cant really control the OTHER people and what they do while living here. I am sure I annoyed a fellow resident or two myself.

This might be the worst apartment complex I have ever had to deal with. We had to resign our lease after our year was up and we haven’t decided wether we were going to stay or not, and the leasing agent for them told us that if we signed for another year that we would have a month to change our mind if we wanted to with no repercussions; therefore, we resigned the lease. The next week we go back and decide we were going to go somewhere else and gave them our 2 month notice. They told us to not worry about the lease we just signed, and it would be like nothing happened which was perfect! Then when it was time to move out they charge us $1,400 for cancel the lease when we were told that we had the month to decide if we wanted to stay or not. We would not have signed the lease if we knew this and when we talked to the manager, they said it was our fault for signing. This place had the worst customer service and they lie to you and will day anything in order to get you to sign the lease with them.

I tried 3 times and left 3 voice messages, nobody called me back! Then I sent an email with a request to provide me with the amount that I have to pay because payment due day is today. They answered me (with rude manner), that if the bill is not available, I have to pay the approximate amount in advance.I tried to explain that according to the US Federal Law, billing statements must be sent at least fourteen days before the payment is due (Fair Credit Billing Act enacted in 1974), but they just ignored my email. I have lived here for close to a year and though my apartment is gorgeous and I love the area there are some MAJOR downfalls that will keep me from renewing my lease. The traffic is ridiculous no mater what time of day it is! The construction is a joke, I have had several flat tires because of nails in my tires! The trash from the job sites is all over the road and court yards and the roads are blocked with 18 wheelers and construction workers constantly. The leasing office staff and mail is infuriating! I have had several packages that were delivered and handed directly to someone at the desk of the leasing office that I have never received and I have received notifications from the leasing office for packages that werent mine and the office staff tries to blame the mail carrier and take no responsibility for anything. To top it off the the building I live in has had several break ins since I have lived there and their solution is to hire security guards that sit in their cars and sleep and/or talk on the phone. I literally watched someone take packages off the front porch of 3 units while a security guard was 30 yards away texting on there phone. The buildings are supposed to be gated and secured but the self close doesnt work most of the time and one door is out off alignment and wont even open or close completely? You would think they would take a little more pride in the complex considering the amount they charge for rent. Defiantly not worth the headaches!!

It broke again, near the end of our lease (wouldnt drain). The layout of our one bedroom was horrible. Its like they wanted to sabotage the square footage. I would have loved to use the balcony more but there were always hornets swarming. The environment is ok. Construction is expected in a developing area, but the giant dumpsters got old. There were only a handful of places within walking distance. The open air hallways are always dirty; stains and garbage on the floors and walls all the time. Ive only ever seen residents picking stuff up, never maintenance or staff. Building 6 will hear the Yoga studio blasting music and instructions all day. It comes through the vents. All day.We were lucky to meet a few great, down-to-earth neighbors! But the vibe from the majority of the residents is snooty. No one mingles at the events put on by the complex. Moved in 2/13/18 overall I would give it 3.5 stars.Cons:Smelly trash in the hallways, walls are thin ( I feel like I can hear the guy 2 doors down... I like his music tho), and my neighbor upstairs must weigh 300 lbs because I can hear every step they take all day and night. Everyone here goes to work at 8ish so lots of doors slamming and you WILL hear all of them. AT&T has terrible service in these apartments currently so you can only use wifi calling or have to swap to Verizon who only has 3g /roaming. The staff does not take you around to show you where things are in the complex... you have to find them and the map which can be confusing. I changed out the junk shower head for a more suitable one but my sink still has more pressure then my shower. Lots of construction in the area going on. No place to wash off your bike if it gets dirty (I loaded mine up and took it to a car wash).Pros:Tons of parking (my lots only 1/3 full at any given time if that), nice area, mtn biking/ hiking trails and the lake is a stone throw away, apt feels big with the tall ceilings. Garage cant fit my truck but is good for outdoor equipment storage and such. The restaurants are pretty good and reasonably priced.Overall if you like being close to the lake or trails it seems worth it. I think I would have upgraded had I known I only had a shower in my apt. and no hot tub at the pool.

What was a good experience, quickly turned into a very bad experience. I was a resident of Nexus Lakeside for two years, was never once late with a payment, and left my apartment in excellent condition according to the management employee who did my walk-through. Approximately 45 days after I moved out, a statement was mailed to me from a collections agency - 45 days! Apparently, Nexus mailed a bill for $107.96 to my forwarding address and in the craziness of moving, I didnt receive it. Im not disputing the charge as Im sure it was for utilities, etc. that they bill in arrears. However, I would have thought they would have had the decency follow up with a phone call and/or email before immediately sending me off to collections - especially for a hundred bucks considering what I paid in rent over the last two years. Ive never been late paying a bill in my entire life. This just makes me sick and I would never recommend this management company to anyone. Was a fan, now a furious past resident.

I feel I should lead with the fact that my application was not accepted to live at Elan. I do not blame them for denying my application, as I knew it was a distinct possibility when I filled it out, but after discussing my situation with the leasing agent I felt like it was worth a shot. Francesca in the leasing office was a pleasure to deal with so I dont want this to be a reflection on her.Prior to filling out any paperwork I was told that if I disclosed all information on the application, I would, at a minimum, have the $100 deposit returned to me. I thought this was fair and disclosed information I knew would negatively impact my application, for the sake of transparency. Well, along with my application denial came a statement for my account, informing me that I had $25 remaining that would be refunded to me. This was curious, since I was told I would be refunded my $100 for properly disclosing all information on my application. I called in the next morning, assuming it was a simple mistake and would be fixed after being brought up, but I was unfortunately mistaken. Apparently, after denying my application, they had decided to charge me a 2nd application fee ($75) for my girlfriend, who had been with me and filled out all paperwork with me in the leasing office. This fee was compd for us when we did the paperwork initially, but was conveniently brought back up when we were denied.Well, this led me to take another look at the paperwork wed signed to make sure everything else was in line. According to their Contemplated Lease Contract Information, which we and the rep from Elan signed with everything else, the Administrative fee is refundable only if not approved. Well, I figured Id gotten lucky and found that, since that was for $150, and we were, indeed, not approved. I pointed this out and was put on hold for a while so the people in the office could talk to whoever was necessary. I was told Id be called back by the property manager the following day and we could talk about my account, which I was fine with. I really wouldve been happy with my $100 deposit back, but now that Id noticed this, I felt as though it was fair, since it doesnt seem to be too open to interpretation and is listed pretty clearly on their paperwork.Immediately after hanging up, I got a new statement of account e-mailed to me saying that I have $75 remaining in my account to be refunded. I took a few minutes to think about it and realized that theyd decided to refund me the Admin fee, less the new Application fee, but also less the deposit theyd previously said theyd return to me. I figured I would talk to the property manager about it when she called me back the next day, since she was the one who seems to be making the decisions and was obviously busy at the moment. As shady as it seemed, I figured I could bring it up when she called me back.Well, were now at 3 weeks later and Im still without a call back from the property manager, even after trying a few times to get a hold of her shortly after the original conversation. I dont deny its a beautiful property, nor do I blame them for my denial, I simply feel like an office run this poorly is something that should be considered when looking for an apartment. Also, youre application money is gone, so good luck when you decide to move out and try to get a deposit back.

This apartment center is a joke. Dont bother applying. I just graduated college and started a new job, so I was told I did not have adequate credit history to be approved on my own. I reapplied with my father as a guarantor and was denied again with no explanation or assistance. I was really looking forward to living in this location, but the management is absolutely incompetent. The manager actually laughed at me on the phone and told me to have a nice day before hanging up on me. Worst experience Ive ever had with an apartment complex.

Subpar experience for the price. The security gates never worked.. Office agents were nice but i do not know about the new management as i did not get a chance to interact with them. The area has some nice amenities from other businesses though. The appliances were broken.. the washer was a mess. And for some lol i was missing a cabinet door. They came to measure 6 times but never replaced it. I stop caring since it was almost time to move out by then lol. For the money they charge.. just move to some fancy apartment in uptown Dallas. Routine overpriced tactics here.

We moved to Texas January 2016 and my spouse job relocated us here, it was a big adjustment having to leave our family and not knowing anyone. Whenever, we came to visit Elan Lakeside everyone seemed very nice but after a few weeks the staff seems too busy for the tenants. Thought it was just me who felt this way but we later learned some of the staff was aware of the companys changes and upcoming new management.Well, its unfortunate some people mayve been affected by the changes but I absolutely adore the manager name Melanie Sanders and all of her new staff. Whenever I have questions or any concerns regarding the apartment Melanie and her staff reply immediately. Ive never felt more welcome and appreciated at these apartment til Melanie and the new staff came on board.Melanie is very professional and she absolutely ROCKS!!! This place has been a lot more clean and management changed for the better.

If I could provide zero stars for Nexus/Elan Lakeside (previous name), I would. The building gates have been an issue for the last year and yesterday December, 8th 2016 we suffered the consequences when we came home to find our front door pried and kicked in and our apartment was completely torn apart and wrecked. We were broken into midday and my fiancé and I have never felt so uneasy and violated. To think they had the time to open and look through every drawer in our apartment is disgusting. They stole a heavy duty safe which held all of our personal belongings, identities, and valuables, countless electronics and all of the high end jewelry pieces. Luckily the Christmas presents were elsewhere. Someone with a copy of our key was also in our house and rummaged through our belongings in early November. Thank god neither of us were there yesterday to face this potentially armed criminal. We found our dogs hiding scared in the bedroom and we still arent sure if they were abused or not. This luxury apartment doesnt have a single security camera onsite so theres no evidence for us or the neighbor below who was also robbed at the same time. I advise you to not even consider signing a lease at this complex in Flower Mound if you or your loved ones value any security at all. Although this is Flower Mound and it seems nice on the outside, safety should be the ultimate consideration when finding a place to live. Look up other reviews for Elan Lakeside from months ago, any thief can drive from another city and walk right into these buildings because the gates are constantly out of commission! The NEW management is unsympathetic of the situation and they are charging us two months rent to break the remaining five month lease. Overpriced. Underprotected. Extremely frustrating and nerve racking. Packing boxes now and getting out of Lakeside. UPDATE 1/4/2017: Milestone Management and the Nexus Lakeside have been very friendly and accommodating throughout the process as they have allowed us to part ways quietly. Also we I was moving out I noticed that gates seemed to be properly functioning so they have made better changes for security even though its not guaranteed.
