This time i actually got a lady who was polite and actually cared about helping me and went outta her way to explain it to me so i understood what all i needed to do. So i am very greatful for her. Usually they are rude, snap at you, talk down to you.and i have witnessed a young new mother trying to get foodstamps and the dhs worker kept snapping at the mother who had no idea of even which application to get to fill out
I can never get ahold of my case worker. Have been calling her direct line everyday sometimes multiple times a day for the past two weeks and still cant get an answer. I have also called and waited on hold for 45 minutes sometimes up to almost two hours just for the call to end or the acts like someone answers but then goes back to hold. Two weeks and no answers from anyone in the department. Do better. People depend on you to be reliable and get them answers. This is peoples life and family your messing with.
Trying to call this place is a joke, the phone rings off the hook at 8am to 5pm no answer just spins around in a circle wasting time. The employees are burnt out, do not care, have no sense of urgency, are understaffed and very underpaid. The website is another joke down all the time, you are forced to answer stupid voting registration and if you answer no it show an error and again it spins in a circle going nowhere. The worst experience I have ever had with any agency in the state
Caseworkers ARE NOT reliable. They are major under staffed and wont hire people to work here. You will never get through to the phone line. They should be closed down and re staffed immediately. Plenty people can answer phones and direct calls.
Does anybody even answer the phone? Do you take anybody into consideration or is it just robots working there?
The lady at the right window had the audacity too complain, about the place being full. Do your job. Or atleats be professional about it, and not complain in front of others. There’s people that work on there feet all day, in the sun, ect. And they wanna complain about sitting on a chair and attending people. Last time there rude, because I will pop off next time.
I was on hold for 29 minutes and the call ended so, after losing my spot in line, I call immediately back. Then 33 minutes into this holding period the call ended again. I have had a ton of issues with this facility with regards to the telephone. In person, at the facility they are marginally better.....
They are kidnappers. They take your children and then have the audacity to act like they are doing you a favor. At least real kidnappers have the guts to not pretend to be the good guys. And at least a ransom situation is over within days.
I filled out the paperwork I thought was needed. A few days later I got a letter that I filled out the wrong thing. I asked them to send me the correct paperwork and two weeks later, Im Still waiting for it. I have a medical condition that I take medication for. It costs about $13,000 a month. I havent had it due to them not sending the paperwork. I hope I dont end up in the hospital again, as I recently was a few months ago. I sure hope it gets straightened out soon.
Long line, and it seems the people working there just arent that interested to help out a little.
Why are government building always so dirty and uninviting? The staff may be helpful, but the information they gave me was incorrect
They are always very very busy so make sure that you set extra time aside
Dhs is longer to wait on the phone to call then driving out of town and waiting in line, seems like they need more help. The DHS workers deserve a raise and a covid air hug. Thank you for being patient and kind.
Its better to go in person, I can never get anyone on the phone. Ive waited hours then when it said there was 1 person ahead of me it hung up. Make sure you get a print off/stamped copy of everything you turn in because the 1st time I went in they had nothing in there system and I had to get it all done again.
They were a great help getting my niece settled in.
Worst dhs ever. Stay on hold forever and when you go down there they are just talking like they are in school. Do your job answer the phone.
They are bad at answering there phones to people
I have literally been on hold for over two hours which would be fine. If the machine didn’t say I only had one call ahead of me the entire time. They need more than one person answering the phones.
The individuals who devote their under paid time to helping those in need are amazing. The volume of help they provide on a daily basis is enormous and anyone who thinks they are rude should take a look at themselves. Are you being grateful or self righteous. Check yourself. And thank you Social Services for being there in such difficult times.
The people are always nice there. The facility needs to be updated. I NEVER CALL it always takes HOURS its a full day just to call and ask a simple question. Need more than one person answering calls. Also their job is not to help people but its to find any reason to not give you benefits. Thats not a joke. They give you help only if you have enough proof that you need it. If you dont have the proof then you dont get benefits.
There was only one lady, they seem a little busy and not enough help.
Quick & Social Distancing is Observed 😷✌️💗
0 out of 5 stars. Absolutely no help. Impossible to get ahold of. It made me put a star, but they get 0!
There really nice to me and trying to get me the help i need..thank you
This place is the worst their rude, very bad customer service they let people just stand in line without even knowledge in them.. They really need to fix this
Everything goes best when you are polite and direct. The staff is always busy, but respond well to you if you arent rude or dramatic. I like that they now have a drop-off box so you dont need to stand in line just to leave paperwork, etc.
Wonderful StaffExcellent serviceI always get the answers I need and paper work response very quickly. Im so pleased with the excellent service. Very Sincerely Kelly. Thank you all for what you do for so many...😊
Terrible service if I could give zero stars I would. They have lost my paperwork and messed up numerous times. They should all be fired!!
Very organized for a place that has been absolutely essential for so many of us. Thank you all for your service
They are horrible about answering a phone then by the time they answer the phone they hang up on you or it will be so long of a wait that I stay on the phone 4 hrs then they close an hang up on you anyway
Most of the staff are great, but our case worker lies and is not for reunification. Advice- if the case worker just dont like you, then your in for an aweful hard time. It does not matter what you do or dont do, they just are set in not helping you. First impressions, it is everything, good luck and may God bless your journey
Staff is generally helpful and nice.Facility has not grown or been updated sufficiently to adequately support the influx of people over the last few years. WAITING ROOM AND ENTRY NEEDS REMODEL AND EXPANSION.
I dont know who Lisa is, but she deserves a raise. She was very patient and professional on the phone despite my many phone calls, often in the same day, to ask questions about my health insurance. Thank you so much!
This agency is simply swamped but doing their best. They need a bigger facility and visitor management system. Plan on a probable long wait with the line spilling out the door for any visit, including picking up or dropping off forms, or foster parent care issues. They have not yet started a number system as other agencies so that one can sit while waiting. This long line wait standing up is especially hard on folks with little kids, the elderly, or those with disabilities.
Not only are they not answering the phones, but theres a problem with automated phone lines to the point where no one can be transferred to the SNAP offices. SMH🤦♂️
The lines are ridiculously long and take forever to help every person they see average wait time per person ahead of you is 30 min per person. But they are very nice here. Not rude or better than though acting...
Once you get to the mask covered window, the lady behind the glass was nice and informative as she handed me Medicaid paperwork that was requested.
I have been calling a hundred times. I need help urgently but nobody picks up the phone. They just dont. I dont live in AR to go there personaly.
Wait times are going to be hectic granted it is a govt office. Once I was able to get through, I was helped by a very kind individual who sincerely expressed concern over the wait and was a great help in answering my questions. If youre planning on calling be sure its while you do dishes or something around the house to help pass time 🤷🏼♀️😅
You need more people to answer the phones this is ridiculous.
Pretty positive the last 23 mins they were open, a friend had timed it perfect to have been on hold so they could chat w the operator. And when they did answer it was literally to get me off the line so they could continue there conversation w out someone being on hold to annoy them. All speculation, but I’m pretty damn good at guessing things. It’s part of my everyday job. That’s petty. If you’re adults you should know better 😞
I gotta say 5 stars or the government will find me.
Other than long lines which are to be expected in any government services office the staff was very helpful despite the fact they had a hard time printing off the paperwork I was waiting for . They were able to answer my questions after consulting with other staff members and eventually I left with what I believe were the correct answers . They do have automated kiosks to sign up for insurance through the affordable care act the last time I checked . Overall it could have been worse .
Update: 3:02:00 there is STILL one call ahead of me....there is ONE call ahead of you the message Ive been listening to for well over an hour. This is a complete joke. Ive been dealing with these guys for over 6 months about the SAME bill...which is now in COLLECTIONS!! If you can even possibly manage to get REAL insurance you should! Hours upon hours of being on hold to be told that its a simple fix if I do X, Y, and Z...well, those things are done and yet here we are. On hold. Again.
Been on hold for literally 5 hrs and still one call ahead. Worst phone service ever. If i could rate 0 stars instead of one, I would. When I first got on hold, there was 9 calls ahead. 5 hr hold for 9 calls. Shake my head.
Not as slow as the DMV!! So they got that going for them. But they are really are really nice
They take forever to answer the phone
Was just on hold for 3 hours. 19 callers ahead starting out. After 2 hours I was finally 1 caller ahead. Then stayed 1 caller ahead for about an hour. To summarize, I called at 10am. Couldnt get ahold of someone by 1pm. And hung up because I had to go to work. Public service is a joke .
My family has actually had a great experience with the staff at this DHS location. I had appointments and my case worker was very professional and kind. My suggestion to you in easing stresses with this location is to be there when the doors open. You will be taken care of promptly and there wont be a line.
There needs to be a better call screening system. When i called at 3:30pm today there were 14 calls ahead of me by 4:22pm there was one call ahead of me, I never made it through because they stop answering the phones at 4:30pm even though there are people who have been holding for hours. Its ridiculous. Benton county has just as many caseloads with high volume and still maintain a quick phone screening.
Ive had to deal with other dhs in other cities and this staff is nice, helpful, and listens. They should employ a ticket waiting system like the dmv or social security office though instead of having lines out the door.
Nice people! Bit I need to remember, if people come in an start yelling at you and cussing you out, plus calling u all kinds of bad and cruel names. YOU would respond in a VERY negative way too! So I gave them a 5 Star .
Wow. No one at this office deserves to be working here. Not the case managers, not the supervisors, not even the receptionists. How dare you ignore people who are just trying to feed their children during a hard time. How dare you withhold food benefits from children the second their dad gets a job. You know you dont get a paycheck the first day, right? How dare you discriminate and demean anyone in a crisis and their children. I came from California, so maybe its just that Im used to being treated better and with more respect, but how disgusting these people must be. Give people their benefits on the first of the month and stop playing around. No one should have to guess when their childrens tummies are going to stop grumbling and no one should have to go to your office when they dont have any GAS in their car to take a stupid assessment when they already GOT placed in a job. You people are so uneducated and careless.
This place is a five star compared to San Bernardino California or any office in southern California. The first time I came here it was great. I was use to walking in where there was a couple hundred people or more and you had to wait all day to be seen so this place is great compared to California
You would think they would hire people to only answer the phones.. I would give them 5 stars if when i called it wasnt a 4hr wait and have a 50/50 chance of being hung up on!! It has happened 3 TIMES this week!! I love my case worker he is nice and tries to actually help you and the ladys upfront have been sweet to me so far. Please DHS do something with the phones. Not only will it benefit us but you wouldnt have so many angry people walking through the door. It would make everyones life so much easier.
Like lines??? Youll love it there. But good ppl there willing to help.
They are very will organized, they get you in and out in a timely manner.
Very helpful
Staff was knowledgeable and very friendly. Put my mind at ease. Thanks for a positive experience!
I never had any issues with them. I felt like the case workers are kind and helpful except for a few mistakes here and there. I was in and out fast. Wait time is not too bad.
Fast service
The staff was helpful in answering questions and making sure I understood what was needed.
Every person there was either rude or racist. My appointment was scheduled at 11:30 I wasnt seen or my name wasnt called until 3 oclock I had to go pick up my children at 3:15 and told them that but instead of helping me out and let me come back after I pick up my children they said I couldnt be seen for another month. They do not help you when you are in a bad situation and anyway whatsoever they are hateful and disrespectful. I understand that they dont get paid enough money for the people that they have to deal with but I was being as nice as I possibly could be to someone who was being very hateful to me but they were still irritable and angry and didnt help me in anyway. I understand that they dont get paid enough money for the people that they have to deal with but I was being as nice as I possibly could be to someone who was being very hateful to me but they were still irritable and angry and didnt help me in anyway I have three children whom I take care of by myself with no help from their father nor do I get help from child support and all I need is food in my fridge for my children but they did not care they were there just to make a paycheck not to actually help someone I will be sending letters to the governor of Arkansas I will also be sending letters to anyone and everyone who will listen about how horribly they treat the people that come up there who honestly need the help
Just waited on the phone for over an hour on hold. A lady finally answered and told me she couldnt hear me very well and then accidentally hung up on me. I called back and there were another 5 calls ahead of me....youre better off writing a letter to them and waiting for them to send it back than calling them. Id rather be waterboarded than call this place. This is the scum of the earth. I feel so badly for anyone who works there.
Was on the phone for nearly a hour waiting on hold and when it was close to my turn, they hung up on me. So I called back immediately and they were closed...so I guess thats just how they deal with ppl who have been on the phone waiting to ask a question for 50 minutes..but they want to go home so they hang up that way they dont have to finish their job. Shows how much they care about helping ppl in the community...
Had a phone interview at 10:30am. Waited around for the call nothing. Called them the next day and asked why I didn’t receive a phone call. Mind you I gave them my cell phone and had scheduled my day around this interview. The case worker told me they got a voicemail each time. How is that possible I’m calling you off of the number I gave you! So now I have to wait TWO WEEKS to get another phone call.
Need more staff. The staff is over worked this making them rude. It also takes to long just to o pick up/ drop off paperwork
If you can actually talk to a person, you win!
There were three windows available but only two people working them. Many people waiting in line.
Very rude called to get Medicaid numbers since I just moved here and have liver disease and need to get back in doctors care. it was like I just asked her to kill her first child and she was bothered that I called. Atleast I got the numbers I needed was also told that I didnt need a card WOW so how do they know if it is me or not when I go to the doctor? just seems that is an easy case for identity theft. as long as you know the Name and social security number they will tell you anything over the phone. Which thank you for giving me the numbers I needed.
Its been my save grace for my kids
If i had the option Id give them zero stars, call the hot line. Youre more likely to get help through them than you would if you had tried a week with the dhs office. I was on hold but maybe for ten minutes, compared to the several hours it takes to maybe if youreally lucky get a hold of an actual agent at the on site location. The hot line number is on the back of the medicaid insurance card.
They will cut your foodstamps off with out warning. Will lie to your face. Will be rude and no one seems to care. Every now and then you get a good one
They have denied my 20 times for food stamps and Medicare for my daughter i have no money and about husband i have two kids and pull this stuff
Had to come here as we needed help with our family as well as a problem that has involved our 6 year old daughter and her older cousin. Sadly to say it took us two months to get emergency food stamps and there was nothing done about the incident with our daughter. Due to all of this we decided to move back where we felt was home and knew we could get help... Oklahoma!!
The communication from HSD is extremely poor and inadequate to its clients and unfortunately uses after the fact tactics which are truly unfair to those who need assistance from HSD.
Have been on hold for over and hour and a half and the last 45 min it has said there was one call ahead of me and its not 430 closing time and nobody ever answered. Thank you for wasting my valuable time. I have important questions that only take a few minutes and your staff is going to be too lazy to answer the phone. Maybe you all should hire more people. This is ridiculous not to mention even when someone answers the phone they are so unpleasant and rude and sound like they hate their job. Worst DHS possible. Ill just go to Bentonville from now on.
They are very nice people and helpful for whatever you need
Ok but I dont think on hand knows what the other is doing
Its frustating when you call and dont get the information you are calling about. And we have had issues with everything because of not being told exactly what is needed on your case.
Its A Verry Helpful Business. If Homless Or Starving. Or ECT.
People there where kinda rude.. fast reception early in the morning though
Waited on the phone over 45 minutes and never got through to anyone. Come one Fayetteville, you are better than this. This is the second time....
Got me all the right paper work I need and the workers were nice. Always a wait but well worth it.
I have been on hold for 1hr and 20 minutes as the fifth caller and the call line has not moved since i first called Washington county dhs. This is the worst dhs office i have ever been to, they are forever loosing paperwork, you always see all the workers just standing around talking and no one is ever getting any help, the front desk girl are the only ones that ever look like they are busy. you cant ever get through on the phones. why is it that every other dhs runs so smoothly but the Washington county dhs always has so many problems. Some one needs to come and shut it down, get a new staff and system this is ridiculous!
After all these years, they still havent fixed their phone issues. I spent 4 hours on the phone a few weeks ago because I hadnt heard back about health insurance after a month and a half only to have my call drop - Id called when they opened and only had 10-13 callers ahead of me. They desperately need to update this system. I called the state and not only had my call answered immediately but also had my case approved within minutes. It shouldnt be easier to call the state office.
Long lines, the workers are mean and belittle you, dont even try calling u will be on hold for at least 2 hours and have your call dropped about 4 times, Im a single mother of 4 kids i work ft and all I asked for was some snap benefits. Its been over a month with a pending status medical i signed up for last October and just got approved in April. Its saddens me that people on drugs and who arent motivated to work come this office and will get handed benefits to, but if your trying to get by and are drug free and asking for a little help then you get harassed.Prayers to all of you trying to get this office to help you. Just dont expect and understanding, sympathy, or compassion in this office. Dont EVER fax or mail anything either they will tell you that they never received it always go there and stand in like for a few hours to drop off anything and make sure to get a copy of your stamped paper. Good luck everyone.
If I could give 0 stars I would! Recently moved to Fayetteville and my husband and I applied for SNAP benefits. When it came time for the phone interview, my husband was hung up on after saying hello. That was Tuesday. Weve tried multiple times since then every day to get ahold of DHS but all we are finding are ridiculously long waiting times on the phones with no human contact. This is so frustrating. What a joke. 👎🏼
Where do I begin? The overview is that the people working here are the biggest bunch of idiots and morons who arent considered legally retarded. IF by some miracle you can actually get a human to pick up the phone, they are incredibly rude and snarky. I waited on hold for 45 minutes and the second the clock clicked 4:30, someone picked up and said, were closed, call back tomorrow. and then hung up. This the epitome of a government that does not care about people in any way, shape, or form. DHS hires the rudest, uncompassionate people they can find. I cannot say enough about how awful this particular office, as well as the entire organization is.
😖
Second time in two consecutive years they didnt send my childs info in to continue their insurance.. now we have to reapply again.. jesus christ......
Employees are always rude, incompetent, and are completely unwilling to help regardless of the situation. You sit on hold for hours just to be hung up on or be told they can’t help. It took me filing a formal complaint to get my daughter’s insurance fixed.
This place is absolutely awful. They are full of dumb asses who do not know what the heck they are doing. They do not know how to answer the phone or even handle the people properly. This place is a waste of time and is not even worth dealing with. The are slow, rude, and horrible at their jobs. It seems as if they do not even know hot to answer a telephone....there is only 20 people in that place..surely not all of them all busy...
Sorry group of people who claim they try to help you. Instead do everything they can to keep your kids away or deny you food stamps and health insurance
Not very helpful at all. What a waste of time
Working for best outcome for outher
Let me make a prediction for you. When you call them there will be 15 callers ahead of youYesterday I was on hold for 1 hour and 30 min and today I have been on hold for almost hour. They made a mistake and put $36,000 as my monthly income instead of yearly. This made my daughter not qualify for AR Kids B. I found out when I contacted Access Arkansas. Now I have to talk to my case worker to fix it. I may be approved immediately or be put back in the loop for another 45 days!I JUST GOT HUNG UP ON!!!!!! I WORK FULL TIME MON-FRI 8AM - 5PM. I DO NOT HAVE THE TIME FOR THIS!!!
I had things missing for my case that I had no idea about, because my case worker never called me or let me know. Then when I ask to talk to him, I get told Im not allowed to or why.Basically got laughed at for asking to talk to him, about wanting to know what else I needed for my case. She said its all written right here dont see why you need to talk to him.I have never dealt with DHS workers so rude. Makes me miss Texas DHS, where they did anything to help you
Okay place
