This company truly goes above and beyond for the schools and students that they serve. The level of detail and accuracy that is needed for the posters, schedule products and tickets products is astounding, and yet Mascot Media consistently achieves those goals, and donates these products to the schools. It’s also very involved with the local community, providing posters to help get the word out about our amazing sports teams and players in the area.If you’re an athletic director at a school, going with Mascot media to market and promote your games and your student athletes is a total no brainer. It costs the school very little or nothing in most cases, and yet they get so much value. The students get to see themselves represented in print, and that’s extremely exciting for every student featured on a poster or in a program. Highly recommend Mascot Media to boost excitement and engagement with student athletes and their fans, parents and family.

I personally had the pleasure to work with this company for five years. Not only do they go above and beyond for their clients/customers but are very understanding on what they want and need for schools that they get the honor to partner with. Great place to work as well top of the line employees that strive to help you succeed. Definitely would recommend to a friend to work there as well any business to advertise with and sponsor a school at the same time. Its a win win!!

The agreement was to provide advertisement for my company that was approved by me. They never sent me any proofs; nor did they follow up by phone or email. I chalked it up as a loss. After months I started receiving invoices.I finally replied and told them to stop spamming me with this invoice; I wasn’t their customer, nor had I been provided a service. They told me I was outstanding on my balance.Confused, I told them to provide evidence. They quickly sent me a phone message where I agreed to their services, but on the same message they said they would provide advertisement for me to review prior to issue - which I never received. They were so aggressive with showing me where I ‘consented’ on the phone; it was literally appalling. So cavalier and matter of fact - “here’s the phone message where you provided consent”. Who uses the word “consent” when referring to sales?I was fed up and asked them to send me a copy of the advertisement. They provided me a copy. They had gone on my Facebook and ripped off a bunch of old photos; none of which were relevant anymore. A logo that was outdated and no longer indicative of our company. Furthermore, it didn’t have an email or website address. It is worthless to me in every way.I told them I wouldn’t pay. I asked if I didn’t pay would they send me to collections, they said “yes”. I paid them over the phone immediately and told them never to call me again.I then sent an email to the salesman that had originally called me and outlined how everything went wrong. He called me back. I told him the whole story again with his colleague in the room. They listened and offered to provide additional advertising (with the same incorrect advertisement). Yes, you heard me correctly - instead of offering some form of discount, concession, or refund; they chose to offer me a more voluminous approach to my advertising with the same WRONG ADVERTISEMENT.As a small business owner, I have never received a bad review online. However, I never accept money from unhappy clients. I’ve taken it on the chin multiple times when I screwed up or my team screwed up. Mascot Media’s incentive for business is commission based; not customer based. They don’t care about you business. These guys are clowns.

I wish I would’ve looked at the reviews before I did business with them. Unless you have a bunch of money to blow and get no return on investment then don’t do business with these people. The toyal payment came out to more than I was told and so I requested a payment schedule because I was in my slow winter months. But not much mercy at all from them and was told I could pay $300 a month and no less or they would send me to collection agency immediately. They told me they were very lenient with payments so I thought well worst case I could pay them $100 a month because that’s the impression they gave me. Just over all bad business. When it came time to pay they became totally different people than when they first talked to me. And I just don’t like doing business with leeches. They get as much out of you as possible and don’t give anything in return. I’m actually marveled that they are still in business.

I agree with everyone else. Called us while we were still opening our space (not even open yet). We agreed to do ONE SEASON because we were just opening and didnt want to commit to a lot of advertising not knowing exactly what we could do/couldnt do. Guy said they would send us an email for graphics, never heard from them until we got the poster and they wanted money. Tried to contact them through their website (which their website wont pull up half of the time I try to get on it!) and they wouldnt respond to that, but still obviously had my number to call and harass about payment even though Id sent in a million things about not receiving email to send in artwork, ect. Then get a call stating I owe WAY MORE than I originally did. Find out theyve signed me up for 3 more seasons I didnt commit to. I know they are going to post we had a verbal agreement However, our phone records conversations as well, and guess what WE HAD A VERBAL AGREEMENT FOR ONE SEASON. It was stated multiple times on my end as I have listened to our recording. I got recording on our phone lines for this very reason. Sent in a request that next seasons be removed as we never agreed to it, and silence on their end again..... Such a rip off.

Deceptive and shady. Do NOT do business with this company. Read the other reviews before considering using the company. Paid for an Ad that was supposed to sponsor High School winter sports schedule for November through February. They did not print and mail my poster until half way through the season, in mid JANUARY! Requested refund and they have refused. These folks are scumbags. Dont make the same mistake countless of us have made. Run.

I am owner of local business where they promote/sell being a sponsor for the High School. I was first offered a banner by a male salesman (think his names way Ryan) and I bought it. They sent me a proof, I approved it and the ad went live. I was then approached for being the main sponsor for the live streaming of the high school sports. I asked if they can guarantee me that they would announce my company as the sponsor for this on the actual games, I would pay for it. The salesman made a few calls, called me back and it was a go, I payed for it. Then he tried to sell me the Platinum Sponsor package, I was intrigued, but I’m not going to just give money as a sponsor and not get anything back, as I’m from Texas and know extremely well the benefits of being a sponsor.I asked that if they can give me a contract which required that I would have at least 5 tickets on the 50 yard line for football games with our seats marked as Platinum Sponsors, had at least 5 tickets to basketball game and volleyball games as well as access to football fields and basketball fields, I would do it. He said he would make a few calls, called back and wanted me to speak to the HS Coach. The coach has no marketing or sponsorship knowledge, that’s why he hired Mascot Media, so he had no idea about what he could do. I thought that was the end of it. Did not hear from anyone for a while. On 4/10 a new salesperson names Alicia calls and says that the schedules, banners and other things are ready, and I’m confused. She says that I verbally committed to the contract as 15 days had passed in order for me to cancel, and according to their policy, that’s all it took.I told her that I did not agree to anything unless I had a written guarantee, she said that it did not matter and all she cared for was the Platinum Sponsor sell. It upset me to the point that I told her to pull my previous sponsorships, keep the money for them and not call me again. Their way of doing business raised way too many flags.Would NOT recommend at all.

Would give negative stars if allowed. They call you constantly and pressure you into advertising more than a year in advance. Then when you realize the posters are not widely distributed and try to cancel they say you can not because the 15 day window has passed. You sign nothing and If you do not cancel immediately more than a year in advance they claim you are locked into an agreement. So essentially you have to give a years notice to cancel a verbal agreement made on a cold call. If you are looking to support your local school I am sure there are better ways to do so. If you are looking to advertise I know there are better ways to do so. Essentially a cold calling collection agency posing as a fundraiser for your local school. Stay Away.

If I could give NEGATIVE stars, I would. A TERRIBLE experience for a small business like ours. We agreed to ONE publication and are now being billed for THREE additional publications that we never agreed to. We only discovered this when we received an OUTRAGEOUS invoice. Called Customer Service and hes looking into it since all the calls are recorded. The first publication DID NOT generate any new business for us and was not beneficial, so why would I agree to three more ads in three publications? I wouldnt! Steer clear of this company at all costs. Absolutely terrible business practices. Im ashamed theyre even in our state!

DO NOT PURCHASE ANYTHING FROM THIS COMPANY. I learn the hard way they dont have any integrity or ethics. I purchased an ad from them and then found out that they are not really distributed like they tell you. I cancelled my future ad with them and they just tell you its past your 15 day cancellation period. You have to understand I sent the cancellation 4 months prior to the next print. They have plenty of time to fill my spot. The BBB is full of complaints about them you have to wonder when the Attorney Generals Office will get involved for the scamming they are doing. As a owner of a company that provides a service if a customer calls because they are not happy with the service and want to cancel I would do it. Its about integrity and ethics. To force a customer into something they dont want because they know they made a mistake is totally unethical.

This company is by far the worst I have ever done business with. they act like they are from your local school which they are not and evidently if you tell them no they still bill you for stuff. I called and spoke with a guy that said he had no record of us cancelling and I said well why havent I received anything and he said probably because you cancelled. I said well why do I have another bill after paying one in February just because I thought maybe I was wrong. He told me because someone probably ordered something. This company is full of liars. Their sales team misrepresents themselves as the local school, when in fact it is a call center in the middle of Arkansas. Their high pressure sales tactics and incessant calling(interrupting my ability to run my business) is enough to put one off, however it gets worse. If you do finally get pressured into purchasing an ad, they bill you immediately, and if you are dissatisfied with the results they go rogue and send you recordings of your phone conversations. Too bad I didnt have recordings from my end in which their staff guaranteed someone was looking into my dissatisfaction while trying to sell me MORE ad space, and letting my cause for concern go to a collections department that calls upwards of ten times in an 8 hour day, regardless of whether you pick up the phone or not.I worried that perhaps mine was an extenuating circumstance but with 54 BBB complaints and a 2 star Google rating, next time I know Ill be doing my homework before working with a company such as this, and I will be stressing to the sponsored local school to reconsider their fundraising sources.

I worked for this company more than a decade ago (prior to it changing hands/names so many times). The tactics and billing that are used now were used back then. Not much has appeared to have changed with the exception that some employees have moved up the totem pole. It was a poorly operated business then and seems to have kept that standard to present date. Whomever is responsible for responding to the negative ads placed by disgruntled customers/non-customers lacks any sort of couth and comes across as combative.*** 05/25/17***Whether or not Five Star Sports hasnt changed owners has nothing to do with my review. The company that I worked for was Athletic World Advertising-- which turned into Game On, then Five Star Sports and was recently acquired by Mascot Media. I should have stated that at the beginning of my original review. Greg Ogden, now deceased, was the owner of Athletic World Advertising and some months after Gregs death Mark McQueen (former president of AWA) bought Athletic World Advertising and proceeded to revamp the business into Game On. He then sold the business to the owner of Five Star Sports and now Five Star Sports (2017) has been acquired by Mascot Media. Essentially this is the very same company with the very same people in management that were there TEN YEARS AGO, i.e. Seth Rader, Jason McEntire, Katie Donaldson McEntire, and Scott Harris. Jeremy Ruth was actually on the sales floor at the time that I was employed there. So, this is the same company for all intents and purposes with the same ethics that were utilized all the way back in 2007. Certain individuals still get the upper hand on the sales floor, there is cold calling taking place, billing after potential clients have cancelled or flat out refused is still going on, EVEN THE WORK SCHEDULE IS THE SAME. So, Five Star or Athletic World, it literally makes no difference.
