Just moved to the U of A and noticed that they had a deal on Tuesdays for students so I made an appointment. Anthony (the barber) has a great personality and overall provides a good atmosphere. The hair cut quality was great, I was a little nervous at first because he seemed distracted but the final product was excellent. Will definitely be going back there!

Great place for a haircut. The attention to detail is unmatched for a mens haircut. An appointment is necessary, but easy to make online. The place always has at least one walk-in waiting, and if he cant work you in, he is honest about it, but he will if he can. Theres not a time that I have not laughed the entire way through my haircut.

It can be hard to find a new barber after moving, but I was glad to find Old School Barber Shop. Ive been very picky with where I get my hair cut after having a truly horrendous cut several years ago at a salon, but Anthonys knowledge of hair quickly put me at ease on my first visit and Ive been coming back ever since. Mark of a good barber in my opinion is one who can provide a good cut with minimal input from the customer, and Anthony has nailed it every time for me.

Talks/jokes too much about how great his haircuts are and doesnt actually focus on the haircut in front of him. Makes uncomfortable jokes and forces you to engage. Haircut didnt look anything like the picture. I gave 2 stars because Anthony is friendly but as someone whos ran successful businesses, being friendly isnt the only thing consumers are looking for. If you cant focus on your craft (15min for a haircut doesnt allow for quality) then you wont have returning customers who regularly tip well.

Real nice quiet professional atmosphere. He can cut any nationality and gender hair. I like that he take appointments. That way you dont have to wait. His shop just have that Old School vibe.

My dad needed haircut day before Thanksgiving. We walked in without appointment and Anthony graciously worked him in . He got a great hair cut and eyebrow trim. Great place great atmosphere and Anthony is great guy. I will be going back. Thank you Anthony.

Tony will bring you back the 50s in his barber shop with a new and improved haircut. I was very impressed with the atmosphere and the service I received. He goes out of his way to take care of his clients.

If you are looking for a place to get your hair cut go here! The customer service you receive here is second to none. Every time I walk out the door after getting my hair cut I look and feel better than ever. Its hard to find people that take pride in their work these days but at Old School the pride and skill is always there!

What a bad haircut. Wow.The proprietor was exceedingly friendly when I stopped in to make an appointment, so I was looking forward to a good experience and maybe a new regular place. (My usual place is so popular and has such long wait times – with no appointment option – so I was looking for a new option. This will NOT be it!) Next day everything was totally different – no warmth, no real welcome, and acted like he’d never seen me before! Whatever. I sat down, showed him a very clear and simple picture of a short faded cut, and then tried (again) to chat a little bit. He asked no questions about the cut, just said “no problem” (or something like that) and started clipping. By the time the whole uncomfortable experience was over, he had thoroughly screwed up the back and sides by shaving them one length straight up to the crown (not faded AT ALL) and had left the top long as heck (but thinned with shears?!) and totally shapeless. When I expressed some hesitation, he said “it looks good” as if that settled it – which, for him, I guess it did. I went to wash off the excessive amount of hair all over my face and stared into the mirror stunned. When I came back from the restroom and went to pay, he was again just totally cold and showed absolutely no interest in me or my satisfaction.I have thought (so many times!) about going back and saying something – and maybe I should – but it’s hard... I was so floored by the whole experience (how does an experienced barber look at a short fade and then do this?!); I’m still upset (3 or 4 weeks later) and just trying to wait on it to grow out enough for someone to fix it. I not only lost $20; I also lost a month or more of having decent hair.

One of the nicest barbershops Ive been in. The barber is really nice, he doesnt waste time. You are in and out of the shop in no time.

I will definitely be returning next time I need a cut. Fantastic customer service, professional yet friendly barber offers the best experience in the area. However, I was expecting a straight razor to be used for shaving my neck but became too involved in the cheerful ambiance, created by a man who truly enjoys his trade, to even notice until the next day.

I witnessed this guy make one of his female customers very uncomfortable making jokes about her and her hair. She was obviously uncomfortable and trying not to engage him. He just kept laughing and making jokes about her. She almost dashed out of shop without paying because he embarrassed her. I felt bad for her. I was equally embarrassed for his lack of professionalism and school boy behavior. Really needs to work on professionalism with female clientele. Very unprofessional.

Got a haircut today & it turned out to be one of the best Ive ever got! Great service and a very friendly gentleman behind the clippers. Would highly recommend but be sure to make an appointment!

Wouldnt have changed anything about my first experience with this business. If you are looking for fast and affordable cut and a friendly, welcoming atmosphere then look no further than the Old School Barber Shop! I will continue to have my haircut here going forward.

He said he didnt have any room but he would try and fit me in. Ended up getting a haircut very quickly and its the best haircut I have recieved in a while. Very funny and nice guy running the shop. Would highly recommend and will be coming back.

A+ old school service with a smile. I was passing through from New Orleans to Kansas and needed my beard trimmed. Shop was closing down due to weather and welcomed me in with a smile. More places could learn a few lessons from this place. Too bad I live in New Orleans.
