Had a hard time finding an after market radiator for our 78 Tbird and after a couple of overgrown cooling devices that belong in a dump truck we called Harrells and stopped by with the original radiator. Immediately knew it came out a Ford of some sort and got to work on it right away. Picked it up today and looks AWESOME! As soon as I put in the newly professionally rebuilt radiator we will be stopping by in the Tbird to say thank you again for helping us keep the classics and antiques on the road!
Vehicle was due a safety inspection. They took it right in and had minimal waiting time to complete it. Employees are always helpful and courteous. I’ll continue to trade with Harrels.

Stan at the front desk was great always friendly and helpful. I had spark plugs replaced on an older vehicle which was challenging but they did a great job, a couple of screws were missing when I got it back..but other than that the job was done.
The RV air conditioning system needed a full rebuild. Parts were a challenge to find. Mr Elliot Quick is a genius at air conditioning systems. Les, Stan were very helpful too!I recommend this upstanding automotive business!
Took our Rv in for service, had the transmission fluid flushed per mfgrs guidelines. Requested annual service/maintenance on the RV AC as well. Guys here went above and beyond to provide great customer service! So recommend the Gillespie st site and we are definitely going to utilize these folks on our vehicle maintenance issues. I needed an alignment and tire balance and they got me in the same day and did a great job and a great price.
They have knowledgeable and friendly staff. Very thorough with their evaluations and have even been charged less than the quoted price on several occasions once a more thorough eval was performed. Took my car in on 6/11/20 to find coolant leak. Found radiator leaking. Harrells had changed out my radiator previously on 11/20. Now it needed to be replaced again. I was told it would be covered under warranty - which it was. Got a call from Eva on 6/11/20 that I had a bad pulley and serpentine belt and she asked if I would like them replaced at somewhere over $200. I told her I could do that myself (a lot cheaper) and then she paused and said that they had ALREADY done the work. End result - went in for warranty work - came out with a $283 bill!Not a fan!UPDATEOn Monday 6/15/20 got a call from the Manager Mike Davis who expressed his very sincere apologies for what happened and said he was committed to making things right - no matter what it took. He also made it clear that not getting approval was absolutely not their policy and it would not be tolerated. We all make mistakes - good to know there are those businesses who are striving to ensure customer satisfaction while also running a profitable business. Kudos to Mr. Mike Davis and his staff!

Ive had my RVs serviced here for about 8 years. It isnt a complicated RV, just a gas engine Ford F-53. Their service has been very good and until yesterday the prices were fair. Historically, I have been charged between $50-$70 over this time period and I understand prices increase. However, yesterday my charge for a standard oil change jumped to $150. I questioned them and they did not satisfactorily explain the extraordinary increase in cost. I will be finding a new place to take my business.

I go here regularly to get my oil changed and have never really had a problem. I would of given 5 stars but the only thing I dont like is the up-sale when just trying to get a basic oil change done. I will also say their customer service has been great to me. Ill be back.

I went in for an oil change and tire rotation and balance. I drop the car off using their Early Bird service. When I went to pick up the vehicle I asked if I qualified for their monthly special that they were running for this month (oil change and free rotation). I was told I was, Dean adjusted the bill and out the door I went. He did explain what they found, what they did and recommended what I would need to do to resolve the issue. Very professional, very courteous, and very knowledgeable. Will be returning to this location again.

BEWARE!!! Do not take your vehicle to this location. We brought our Maxima there to replace the alternator, got my car back and it is making an awful sound and they scratched my car!! Steve stands outside with his arms crossed waiting with my bill when I pull up, horrible communication. I felt like he was trying to intimidate me. An older gentleman, Mike, offered to get the scratch taken care of. However, when I went home and my check engine light came on, that was enough. My suggestion, fire Steve... Your employees should NEVER try to intimidate a customer. If I could give zero stars, I would. Honestly, save your time and money and go elsewhere. $800 to fix my alternator and now my car has even more damage. Truly a sad place and huge disappointment. If you read their replies to negative reviews, you can see how they try to intimidate. These people are terrible for your business.

Had a hard to diagnose issue with my work truck -- took it to several different people and auto-shops and most everyone had a different diagnosis.So, I decided to take it to one more shop - Harrels -- and they got it figured out and taken care of !And the problem turned out to be something totally different than what the other shops were claiming!Definitely reccomend these guys!
This is MY new mechanic shop. They have GREAT customer care and warranties. Their warranty work doesnt take 3 weeks to get done, but they get it done VERY quickly!! They dont take offense, roll eyes, etc. if you have to come back because the repair didnt completely fix it, but they keep at it until its fixed. Mike was excellent in working with me to get our 2008 Chrysler Town & Country van and 2003 Saturn L200 sedan taken care of. I will definitely recommend them to anyone and will bring my vehicles back to them in the future for maintenance and repairs!

I feel the money I spent with this business has been thrown away. I spent hundreds of dollars and when I came to pick up my vehicle the engine light would come on before driving minutes away after picking up my vehicle.I explained my concerns and the manager kept my vehicle for days and could not give me a straightforward answer as to what was wrong with my vehicle. I ended up paying for my vehicle to leave with the engine light still on.I feel very disappointed in this experience.
Today was the third time Ive had service work done at Harrells on Gillespie and every time, T.J., the service advisor has helped me. He has always been very respectful, polite and knowledgeable. Even when delivering bad news about repairs and damages, he comes off as empathetic and caring and I feel like he is looking out for my best interests when giving me advice about my vehicle. Because of this alone, I have continued to take my vehicle to Harrell’s.This morning, I took my car in very early, as advised, knowing that I had to work at noon, but had some suspension work to get done on my car. T.J. assured my car would be finished by 11:00 and I was out of there by 10am, everything completed. So thank you so much, for your great customer service. I will be back.

They were friendly and helpful letting me leave my car overnight but I wouldnt go to them for transmission problems even to diagnose a transmission. They should of told me they dont fix transmissions. The results will be $89.02 to tell you that it needs to go to a transmission shop. They did verify that my fluid was topped off and all the wires was still there.
Was told that our engine was completely shot and would need a new (brand new 7k+ or used 3k+). Took it to another garage for a second opinion and they changed a plug and started/drove the vehicle. The overall price, worst case scenario, would be at the most 3k. Not saying its a bad place, but thats a huge difference!
Part 2 to my first review after taking my truck to Harrell to have (one door repair )which they were going to charge me $564 to repair it I decided it was too expensive for one door. They returned the truck to me with the door parts in a paper bag and also charged me $89.95 plus tax for a diagnostic and stated that the window motor wasn’t any good. I took my truck to another garages where they charged me 156.30 to repair the door. Do the math 564 vs 156.30. They are definitely a rip-off.
I took my car to Harrell garage on 4 Oct 18 to fix some things, picked it up about a week later, paying nearly 1500 dollars, my car couldnt pull up the hill right in front of the building. Took it back in mechanic said something else was wrong. Week later, picked my car up again this time paid 460 dollars, now my car sounds like a truck, check engine light still on. As for my money back for the check engine light that wasnt fixed, mechanic said he didnt have any control over that but would tell the lady the next day when she came back to work. U guessed it Im still waiting for that call. If u do take your car to Harrell garage on Gillespie dont do like I did get u an attorney before.

**RE-Review- After going back up, Kevin andbTJ ended up not only apologizing but they rectified the issues that had happened. While I already had my waiver for inspection, they were determined to fix my truck so there wouldnt be the issue again and proceeded to pay for the parts and labor to correct the problem immediately. These two and the mechanic who worked quickly are saviors for this company as they wanted to make things right and went beyond what I ever expected so my review is now switched from 2 to 4 stars**Going to get my truck now. Recieved the run around from the people here in regards to what needed to be fixed to pass inspection. After okaying to fix all the issues to pass...it failed due to a different error that was never mentioned before. Dont tell a customer their vehicle will be completely ready and finished if you cant fulfill your word. Lack of communication between staff also was VERY evident as the weekend shift had no idea what was going on because no notes or anything was made.

This review maybe considered bias because I work for this company, but I have read all the reviews, and I have to say that for those who leave negative comments or reviews without truly knowing what they are actually getting service for should think before posting. Case and point...A diagnostic for any vehicle can run you $80 and up. With that said, to complain about a $89.02 charge for a transmission diagnostic check is a more than fair price. That cost includes our technician to actually DIAGNOSE your vehicle, NOT fix it. My question is this...would you rather try and tarnish a company for actually doing the diagnosis and paying $89.02, or pay upwards of $2,000.00 or more for the actually transmission repair/installation? Fair question, dont you think?

If I could give Harrells 10 stars I would! We sent a youth mission team of 20 off this morning from Leesville, SC to NYC. Three hours into the trip the alternator started acting up just outside of Fayetteville. Our bus driver called home to let us know and I immediately got on Google to see what was in the area. Harrells was one of the first to pop up so I called and spoke to Dean. He was VERY nice and told me we could send the bus over to have it checked out. They quickly found that the alternator was indeed about to give out and had it swapped out in no time. Our mission team was thoroughly impressed with the service at this location! Thank yall so much for taking such good care of our kids!
They want the customer to leave the car during the day, they do not specify the wait time and are highly unprofessional with attitude once you get there. I would have loved to get a diagonostic on my car, but I will be taking it to Bob Mirars on yadkin.Yesterday I called around noon to ask for a diagnostic on my A/C... they told me it would be $89. Which I felt was fair, they also told me that money would go towards the labor if I decided to fix my a/c there, which was fair. I asked what time I could get it looked at and they said anytime so I asked what time they opened and said Ill bring it the next day, which was today. Today I got a different kind of customer service from them. I arrived at 8:02, there was one car in the parking lot. I then go inside and one person was leaving their car with them, no one in the waiting room. As I got to the counter I told the lady what I was there for, in a very snappy attitude she asked me if I was leaving my car there, I said no I was staying with my vehicle. She then said it would be 2 or more hours, and I asked if that was how long it would be before it would be done. She said no that was how long it would be before they even got to it, I asked for a definite time bc I would not be leaving my vehicle. She then went to the back and came back and told me it would be 1.5 hours before the mechanic saw it, I said okay I would wait and then she told me that it would be a couple hours or so after the 1.5 hours. So basically it would 1.5 plus 2 more hours for a diagnostic. I told her that when a customer calls, they should be very clear over the phone over what the mechanics expects in time, and how they want vehicles left for the day. She said she would have told me if she answered my call. Definitly sad about the service I got from them once I got there, especially after reading the reviews. And to think they just lost business from a customer and others who will most likely read this review.
THE best experience with an automotive shop ever!! While traveling from Florida back to Boston the service lights came on and would not go off. Having just spent over $600 for service less than 24 hours earlier in Florida, this was competely unexpected and extremely frustrating. A google search came up with Harrells. We pulled in with no appointment and explained the trouble. Mike and Chris took us in right away and found a defective part had been installed. They removed it, had a new one brought to the shop in no time and installed it for less than what we paid originally, and again we were on our way. Unfortunately, we were on the road for a very short time before the truck began shaking. We turned around and went back, agian they took us right in. After another look at what was done, they greased the parts (which had not been done in Florida) and believed that was the problem so we were once again on our way. At this point we have only been charged for the replacement of the defective part. Again, not long on the road and the shaking returned and was worse. We return for the third time and the team decided to look at all of the parts that were replaced in Florida. The rotors had become so hot they were blue! They removed them, let them cool and felt as though perhaps this would solve the shaking. This is also after the shops scheduled close time but Mike and Chris were sticking with us to solve the issue so we could get home. On the road we were once again, and no luck...shaking is back! So we are forced to spend the night in the lovely town of Fayetteville, NC, unplanned. The very next morning we called Mike, we thought perhaps he would send us elsewhere, but no, as a true professional, he and hsi team wanted to solve the problem. After much discussion and trouble shooting and even draining all fluids & replacing them the only thing we could do was re-do the rear rotors, calipers, pads & hoses. Both Mike & Chris tried everything possible short of doing this as it was an expensive job (although less expensive that what we paid in Florida!) So again, the parts are ordered and arrived in short order. They were instailled and finally we were on the road to Boston with a truck that was running as smoot as silk! These guys could have taken us for ALOT of money, but instead they worked with us to find a solution that would not break the bank. They were professional, friendly and even courteous throughout the whole ordeal. In fact, they even felt bad for all that we went through as though we were part of their family! If you are in need of any services in the Fayetteville area I would strongly reccommend this place without hesitation. You will be treated with kindness, respect and you will not be ripped off - even if they had an opportunity to do so!!! Thank you all at Harrells for making a very miserable experience much better and easier to handle. The remainder of our trip was without worry about the truck as we had 100% confidence in the job they did! Sincerely, a very happy couple that safely made it home to Boston thanks to Mike, Chris & everyone at Harrells:)
