Great staff and clean/safe facility! Always good to have an appointment and show up a little early if you can. Thanks to all donors and Red Cross folks for the lifesaving work!
I had an appointment at 2pm and got helped at 2:05pm. There were MANY people donating today and not enough staff so I was surprised I didnt have to wait that long. They were very nice to me and I was out at 3:30pm. You think youre there to donate blood but youre also donating some of your time. I recommend bringing your phone or a book. Will come back again :)
I never been here before. Give little and get A lot. Its Better to give than to Receive.Bring Alls your Goods to Storehouse. And watch What God will do. Amen Thanks u Merry Merry Christmas. Be Bless
First discovered this organization while at WMU- donated blood for expenses. Saw them near my Chinese language school also. Later at VFW post in Mt C. where i live now. Just a short questioneer and the donation is quick and painless. They occasionally contact you and tell you when they are near. Kind staff.
I only waited about 10 minutes. The staff was so caring and friendly. I passed out after donating and ended up having to stay after they closed to wait for a ride home and they could not have been more kind.
First time giving blood and the professionals were very unprofessional and I wasn’t pleased with my first experience. I will not be back to this location ever.
Ive been donating with the Red Cross for years. I showed up at the last appointment for the day. The woman doing my intake seemed very rushed and insisted on completing my medical questionnaire herself. She asked several times if I was sick because my temperature was 98.9F. She then tried to defer me for a year because of a tiny cut on my finger. After stating my iron was a bit high, she asked if a doctor had ever mentioned it. I said one had many years ago. She then told me I was permenantly deferred because I should be receiving therapeutic blood drains (which I have never been told by any medical professional) and was not allowed to donate because people that need therapeutic drains may lie in order to donate.
After reading the other reviews here I was expecting to have a bad time. But everyone here was super friendly and answered all my questions... Ill definitely be coming back here again and recommend others to do the same!
If youre not willing to wait at least an hour.. Choose another donor location. The staff are nice, when theyre not in a rush but every time I have come here to donate there is a crazy long wait and people hopping in front of others who are waiting to be called. Appointment times are pointless because of that. I only come to this location because its close to my work. I think Ill be finding a different donor center after today.
It was my Second time donating blood ever. I had planned to arrive at 5 pm, they close at 7 pm. I got stuck in an hour of traffic, and got there at 615, at this point I had been driving non-stop for an hour and a half to get there in time. I walked in and wast even greeted. The lady at the front counter looked at me, looked at the clock, sighed, and said I dont think theyll take you, let me check I proceeded to sign in and get ready, to not waste any time, she said they would take me. So when it was my turn to get tested to see if I was capable of donating the Nurse told me Youre lucky. We dont normally take people this late. And I said Im sorry, should I go? She said No, we dont want you to go. We want you to come early and make an appointment.Excuse me? Im the lucky one? I thought I was there helping them, There is no excuse to treat a donor that way. I dont want to donate blood at all, if that is what I have to go through to do it. Forget it, and forget this place, if you are donating blood, I suggest you go somewhere a bit more hospitable. If I had a normal schedule I would be able to plan things out, but I dont, so I have to donate when I can. I see all the Red Cross signs that read Donate NOW. What they should say is Make an appointment weeks in advance, and dont just show up wanting to do good an hour before close, because youre inconveniencing us by wanting to donate.
Easy.
If you are thinking about donating blood, a noble cause, pick another location. Surly staff, disorganized, music blaring in the background both in the lobby and donation area. Not a pleasant experience.
Wasted 1/2 vacation day - showing up early for my 2:45P apt and then waited until 3:30 to learn there were still folks waiting to donate with 2P apts. Odd that I was sent a confirmation text that morning yet could not get one telling me how behind schedule they were. Clearly disrespectful to donors trying to make a difference........I then walked out and left my PowerRed sticker on my chair as I left.
I get calls almost every single day from the Red Cross yet when I try to donate I wait 1.5+ hours after my appointment time. I just get up and leave, what a waste of time. If you want to fix the blood shortage stop making the experience so terrible for everyone who is on time.
