Had my screen replaced. Tech said they had replacement screen but didnt actually have it. Went to pick up phone and it was mid-repair awaiting the screen. The technician went on vacation and the owner told me to come back in one hour. Come back in an hour and shop is closed for the day. Next day still waiting, asked for a loaner but was given a TracFone which obviously only works if thats your service provider. So Im stuck with a useless phone I cant use while they wait for parts. When I go back to get my phone, you can see where they worked on the phone and the forward facing camera has dirt behind the screen, so cant clean it. Now all the pictures come out blurry. Im just glad the back camera works great since they didnt touch it. Dont recommend this shop or their service.TLDR, Bad service, messed up repair.

Bought a laptop to use for mygolf team stats. I had a little trouble with it, my fault, and returned to the store. The sales person helped me get it fixed and was very gracious to acustomer that should have been able to fix it himself. I was a current customer and will continue to be a customer next time i need to have a computer. Thanks Perry and staff.
You cant get through by telephone. Ive tried now for 8 days. I have 25 hours racked up and have never once spoken to anyone. My computer is not set up although I paid them to set it up Im not able to get online to use chat. They left me dead in the water. It was all smiles until they got my money. Dont walk run away from Best Buy in Fargo.
Wish I could just give 1/2 star. They really dont deserve a 1. They are totally clueless. They replaced a DVD drive and didnt even bother to see if it was working as it should. The tech that fixed it told me he never even tried it out, yet I still had to pay them 90.00. Stay away from this wanna be computer store!!!!

I have had a few very nice experiences in this cozy hometown store for technology repairs and sales. The owners and staff are friendly, competent, and trustworthy. The work they did for me was very satisfactory and completed quickly, The cost was also less than I had expected.
The guy that changed my screen protector was awesome! It was a challenge to get off.
We ordered and prepaid for a replacement battery. They called reporting the battery was onsite. Ready for pick up.I walked in, in-front of two men. The staff waited on the two guys before me. When they finally took the time to wait on me they couldn’t find the battery or even the order. Left with out the battery. They called me back 10 minutes later and said they found the battery.
Very good service, the guys who helped me were kind, understanding, and even helped me set up a payments plan so that i could not go bankrupt. It was also very speedy service. Thanks so much guys!

Awful communication and customer service. I took my wifes computer in because there was an issue with the charger port, and possibly the battery. I paid the initial fee up front, and they said they would contact me before doing anything that would add to the cost. I got a phone call about a week later saying they got a new part and tried it with a new battery and its now working, and that the new part was an extra $40 and the battery was an extra $70. They went ahead and made these decisions without contacting us like they said they would. They asked me over the phone if I wanted the new battery. I said NO, but if my wife wants it well contact them. My wife went in to pick it up today and they said they ordered the battery and made her pay the $70 for a battery we didnt want because it was a special order and that I gave it the ok. Which I absolutely did not. They also cleaned it for an additional $9 which we were not told about. So we had to pay almost $80 for services we either didnt ask for, or outright refused. We will never be coming here again, and according to some of these reviews, this isnt uncommon for this place. Definitely take your business elsewhere, as this company is not worth the money.

The Mac tech initially assigned to my computer spent a full 3 months tinkering with it, never returned my calls or provided me with any kind of updates or plan, and started doing things with my computer without asking or disclosing what it would cost first, and if it werent for the fact he left for the summer I would still be stuck in the infuriating cycle of calling to check on my computer, being told my tech will call me when he gets in, and not hearing anything until I drive to the store and ask in person a few days later and find out more things are being done to my laptop. Thank goodness Mark took over my repair, figured out the problem in one day and figured out a very generous price to make up for the time and hassle, all while being on top of calling me to update me on the plan and when I can expect my repair to be done
We had some difficulty with accessing apple mail after an update on a Mac Pro.Took the computer to The Computer Place. They were fairly busy but with in 3 days had everything working perfectly. Mark kept me informed the whole time. Very pleased.
I brought my computer to the computer place at 530 pm and they close at 7. They said they could look at right now and fix it!! I didn’t have to wait 3 days or 6 weeks like I would have to do normally at Best Buy. I have a Mac and it is very rare that there are people that know how to fix them in this area. Clayton has great customer service and really knows his stuff! Definitely would recommend the computer place!! Thank you!!!
Mark (I think his name was) tried his best to fix my computer, but didnt believe he could give me the upgrade that is needed for my computer because of the size of my laptop. He did help me recover my files in a timely manner, was very friendly, and gave me a fair rate. He explained everything he tried and what my laptop would need to run better, which was helpful of him. I would recommend to anyone, especially if you need your files recovered quickly.
This place is amazing!!! So professional as well as awfully kind and patient. They even stayed open AFTER HOURS for me just to ensure that services were done properly. If I could give them more than five stars, I would. Definitely recommend it to everyone
Mark did a fantastic job of working through the problems with my computer. He took the time to communicate as the job progressed and continually was pleasant to work with. He was honest, and I felt like I could completely trust him at his word. Honesty is a difficult attribute to find these days, but I couldnt say enough good about Mark as a young man of integrity.

Took our home computer in for repair for a virus. Mark met us at the door. He fixed the computer while we were chatting about what was wrong with it but did suggest we leave it for a full scan/review. 12 hours later we had our computer back minus MANY viruses and malware that had accumulated. Brock the technitian who was new and was making mistakes he addmitted as he was new ran my computer for codes the second tech looked them up i was told i needed a new harddrive..it would be 39.99 plus the 149.00 to install a new system i paid it.i was told they would get back to me tjey never did.two days later i called ..first i was told the jard drive didmt take they put the wrong one in but they would call when it was done.i called back a few hours later and told them they said it wpuld be done..i was told it would be done by the end of the day brock called me at 3 tjattoday to tell me that my mother boatd was shot.i asked to be refunded.i was told no.i asked for the manager he said its not his problem and sometimes computers break and that he wouldnt refund me.i got upset and raised my voice i was then called hey lady im gonna hang up on you..mind you my computer was still working when i brought it to them.im going to have to take him to small claims court in order to get my money back..poor service..lack of comunication no customer services
I have used the business 3 times in the last 6 months to a year and have had nothing but the best service. Everything was analyzed and fixed (if needed) and I have my computer, laptop and cell phone in perfect working condition. the personnel that work at the facility are very friendly and quotes for work are in writing and fully explained to the customer.I would highly recommend them for any repair work, be it computer, cell or laptops.

I brought my computer in because it would not turn on. The first pc tech told me it was the fans. The second one accidentally confused my computer with someone elses, and told me what was wrong with the other customers computer. The third guy I spoke to told me it was the power supply. So I picked up my computer because I was tired of the inconsistent explanations and got a power supply. Replaced the power supply and still nothing. 90 repair and diagnosis fee that did not help me at all. I would not recommend these guys, no communication, and apparently poor knowledge of how to properly diagnise computer problems.
Overall, very poor quality service, and unacceptable behavior. I am very disappointed as the staff there is extremely unprofessional, untimely, and incompetent. I dropped my computer off a month ago, and three weeks later I got a call saying it was ready to pick up. During those 3 weeks, no one called me, I had to constantly reach out to them in order to get an update on the status only to be led in circles about the status of my computer.When my computer was ready to pick up, I left the store only to have my laptop revert back to the same issue within an hour, and my laptop was even worse than when I had dropped it off a month prior. At that point the store was already closed, so I had to wait until the next day.I brought it back to the store again and still nothing is fixed. I got a call from one of the techs saying it is now a hard drive issue. When prior to picking up my computer the first time the tech said it was not the issue. So the new tech never discussed with the previous tech what had already been done on my computer. Yet, they want to charge me $100 more for the same diagnostics they had already ran a couple days prior. There was a massive miscommunication among their staff and yet I should not have to pay for their mistake in not communicating with each other. I should not be double charged for diagnostics when still nothing is fixed and I have ZERO new answers than what I knew prior.Also, when I asked the tech on the phone questions regarding my hard drive, he told me he was unsure because he did not have a background nor degree in computers. If you dont know the answer you need to find me someone who can answer my questions.Second, I talked to the owner since I was getting no answers only to be told someone would get back with me at the end of the day and no one did. I have zero faith in their competence. I had to call back yet again and was told things would be expedited, and still nothing from them. Its been over a month now, I am out close to $200 and nothing is fixed nor no answers from them. I was also told they could at least get some of my files for me off my hard drive in the meantime for finals week coming up and that never happened.Also, FYI, I would recommend calling prior to making a 20 min drive across town as their business hours are a mere suggestion, meaning they open whenever their staff decides to show up to work. I went an hour after they should have been open, but big shocker, they were still closed.During my entire experience, I am thoroughly disappointed. This is unacceptable and no way to run a business. I will never be entrusting them again with any computer services. Nor would I recommend their service to anyone. I would try elsewhere to save yourself the headache and unprofessionalism I experienced.
When my power adapter broke, Apple Care directed me to this place. I called and asked about getting the new power adapter and they explained the process. Since I wasnt able to get a new power adapter until Tuesday, and it was Saturday, they allowed me to charge my computer there. When I arrived, they helped me right away. They explained what Apple Care has to offer and are getting my adapter sent in to Apple for me. When the store was closing down and my computer was still charging, the manager allowed me to take a charger home until mine came in Tuesday. When I come in Tuesday, I will exchange my charger for the new one. I am so thankful for all of their help and support.

I took my computer there to order a battery replacement and wrote a check out, which they gave me their word that they would hold the check (would not cash it) until they started working on my computer. They told me to return that friday with my laptop to get the new battery installed. I called prior to leaving home on the friday and the employee stated that they did not have an order under my name. The business cashed my check and did not do any work on my laptop. The following week I spoke with a manager who claimed that he was going to make me a check to reimburse me. It has been 2 weeks, and I still have yet to receive my reimbursement. This is outrageous! I will be paying them a visit on Monday! I live 60 miles from Fargo!..
I stopped in to have a screen protector put on my phone. When they messed up the protector they told me to send it back to Zagg. When I asked why I paid $10 if they werent going to replace the protector itself the man at the counter became frustrated and asked the other man at the counter for help. When I expressed frustration with the situation the second man became irritable and implied that he and his cohort could hack my wifi, which I thought was an awfully excessive escalation. When I asked him to clarify his threat he complained of long hours. Both men were very unprofessional, complaining about how tired they were in front of customers. When I came in to get the replacement protector (it was out of stock) I spoke with an older man who dismissed my complaint, saying that his guys wouldnt say that. I can assure you they did. I will never be going back and wouldnt recommend anyone place their computers containing personal information in their hands either.

I used their services many times over the the years, Have been a Mac user since 1987, however, this time was the last time I will set foot in the door. Maybe they changed ownership, anyway, after bringing in my Mac for evaluation, I was treat horrible and they disconnected the WiFi antenna when putting the computer back together again.This was verified by a certified Apple repair shop.Rest assure no good reviews in my Mac circle!

Lets just say the snooped through my computer and saved my pictures on to a device that wasnt mine. Lucky I didnt persue a law suit. I have all the proof. Dummys forgot to delete their history.
I brought my laptop in over 2 months ago and sense then brought it in 5 times. First time I got told they had to reset something with my battery and paid 75 dollars for it then sure enough my laptop stop working and not taking a charger after a day and then the next 3 times I brought it in they told me it was my charger so i got that replaced and laptop still wasnt working fourth time I went in I demanded they look through it better got told could be my battery but it wasnt so they reset the same thing and said it had to be my charger after a day broke again 5th time demanded a refund or for them to actually fix it the boss perry ended up taking care of me but sent it to the same guy that did the diagnostics before and this time he told me it was my logic board and it would be $799 so I brought it to simple Mac yesterday and they told me at most if it is the logic board it would be $400 but after they tested my laptop ended up being where you plug in the charger on the laptop was broken came to a 142 bucks. This computer place is awful I wouldnt trust their work or their prices I got ripped off and wasted 5 trips and didnt get a refund because they couldnt find my reports except for one I paid for in the beginning and conveniently it was 2 days after their 30 day warranty.

The worst service I have ever gotten anywhere. My MacBook crashed & had to get hard drive replaced. Brought my fixed laptop home, turned it on and was still having issues and working even slower than it had before I brought it in. They gave me a small discount on my fixed computer bill if I wrote them a good review to make it up to me. Needless to say, my computer was basically trashed & they never gave me my old hard drive back. Called multiple times to get it back, but they cant find it. Unprofessional, slow, terrible at communication. Do NOT bring any of your electronics here.

Worst computer store do not take your computers to repair. The workplace conduct is a mess, with the head boss being hardly in touch with his staff due to him being out of the office constantly to promote the business. The workers range from management taking advantage of the little guy, to blatantly screwing around as they work and screwing off customers. They triage their costumers based on how long their computer/device has been in the shop and how much wealth they have to get the repair rushed. This leaves them backlogged with repairs of priority customers being done first with anybody getting left behind to either get their data wiped or scrapped with a suggested replacement.They only do data recovery if demanded/harassed to do so by the customer or if they already took care of the device, telling the customer Im sorry theres nothing that could have been done.. . . dont go to these guys for your repair. The Boss is a good man but is too blind sideded and gets taken advantage by his own staff due to his lack of presence, often being lied to, given the results that were asked without the satisfaction demanded.
My mac laptop had to be repaired because of a defective video card on the motherboard. I brought it in on a Saturday and it was fixed the following Wednesday. I was skeptical bringing my computer there because of the bad reviews but they did a pretty good job, and it was pretty prompt.

Took my Mac in to this location.. cost a fraction of what the Mac store in the mall was going to charge as their computer tech guy was out for an unknown amount of time and I needed it fixed immediately. I was happy with price and that they fixed my Mac however I have noticed it wasnt put back the best as screws on the bottom are sticking out and Im missing two out of the bottom.
Sent IPhone in for a simple screen replacement. When it came back it did not function at all. Home button was disabled and they had put one of the remote home buttons on the screen. Very unprofessional and expensive.. I will never go back!

Best advice I can give anyone: never go here.If I could give them 0 stars, I would. My experience with the Computer Place was absolutely awful. Their employees were nice, but the service was the worst. I had taken my Macbook Pro in, explaining that my hard drive had died and needed fixing or replacement. I had already spoken to Apple Support, so I knew it was not a software problem that I could fix on my own. They suggested taking it in to be repaired. I saw that the Computer Place was an Apple Certified Service Center.Their turn around time is stated at 3-4 days. It took 4 days for them to call me and tell me the problem was my hard drive and they were going to wipe it and re-install it. It took 3 more days for them to say that had failed and they were trying again. It took another 2 days for them to tell me it was the SSD that had failed and they needed to order a new part, which would take a week. It took a week for them to call and say they had misquoted me and the part they had said they would order would not work for my computer. They had not ordered anything at this point and had not done any work. AFTER TWO WEEKS. During this time, I had also been calling them every few days for updates, but the tech on duty never had an update as they were not the tech working on my computer. Because there was none, apparently. I took my computer back and am now sending it in to Apple. I figured a local place would be faster, but I was completely wrong.
Terrible and slow service from the owner. Everything is overpriced. All of the 4/5 star reviews are from employees. This company should be named The Scam Place.
Do not ever sell your phone here, took them 30 days to finally write a check after they held my phone for that long. The techs are under staffed and are clueless when it comes to customer service within the 30 days I received one phone call. Also was told may not be able to deposit the check. Due to security. Take your products and money somewhere else.

The Short:Far exceeded my expectation in part availability and service. Highly recommend.The Long:I was looking for a specific part to repair a MacBook Pro. I threw a Hail Mary and called the Computer Place, not thinking they would have it. The tech who answered asked me to bring in the MBP and they would verify if the they had the correct part. Thinking they would attempt to sell me far more than I wanted, I went in with my guard up.They took my precious aluminum unibody and returned to the front. They did have the part! Not only that but for the price of the hardware they will install the part and run a diagnostic to confirm its functionality. As the diagnostic ran the rep was friendly and encourage my toddler son to play with some of the display tech.After the diagnostic completed he showed me the results and let me test the Mac. Everything ran great and he sold the part to me at a discount.Overall, our issue got resolved. We had a good time, and my son wants to visit the Computer Place. Dad just might as well.Caveat: their prices run higher than online distributors. But given the peace of mind I felt about my purchase, I would continue to recommend.

I came in for a virus removal. i had norton antivirus but apparently it slipped by norton. they recommended uninstalling it and set me up with webroot antivirus. havent had any problems since then!! the guys were really friendly and it was worth the price!!

HDD was messed up so i brought it in for a quick format expecting it to be really cheap. They took it and told me it was 20 bucks afterwards. The process took 5 minutes.

Just like the other reviews mentioned, they promised to fix a problem with our computer and the service was never provided. Then they refused to refund our money or even fix the problem. This place is a trap and they will rip you off.
I initially took my month old macbook pro there for some new ram after it would not turn on. They claimed nothing was wrong with it, I get it to my house and it runs for 3 minutes normally before the screen glitches out because they did not put it back together correctly. Very disorganized, wouldnt recommend them, even to an enemy.
