Ive been here twice. I have been recommending them to friends and family for repairs because of word of mouth accounts from others. I had not had a reason to utilize their services until recently. My air conditioner when out and my car was out of alignment. Although the ac was an easier fix than I expected I was confused by the process so I asked a lot of questions. They were so patient responding to me and stayed passed their closing time to finishing explaining how they did diagnostics to discover a few other issues. We came up with a game plan to fix the issues my car was having. I have not had a mechanic do that with me before. They do have loaner vehicles if you have full coverage insurance but everyone and their mother was having their cars worked on at the same time. It was okay because I didnt need a car that bad. The labor fees are a little much but what good mechanics arent? Plus they are still cheaper than some mechanics in the FM area. I gladly payed it and will in the future. Their customer service is so wonderful, I will continue to recommend them.

I went to Matts because of a Costco membership coupon and for a second opinion on some work needed on my vehicle and Im glad I did! I was really impressed with how professional and thorough this place is. They were able to diagnose the issue I was experiencing and also did some routine maintenance. The coupon was just a plus on top of the great service. I really liked the text updates so I could access any information about issues and see images/videos provided if they found known issues. I also liked the ability to see the prices of maintenance needed and a list of what the maintenance is for. I appreciated Vern calling me and bring prompt about updates and explaining anything I had questions on. He was very flexible and knowledgeable. Very pleased with his customer service experience. Last, but not least, loved that they put a plushie in my babys car seat. Such a nice touch. Whoever came up with that idea, youre awesome! My child will hug anything plushie so she liked it right away. 🤍

My first time using Matt’s Auto, I chose them because of their high reviews and I’m glad I did.They were very professional and friendly. I dropped my car off in the morning to be looked at before we take an out of state trip.They actually gave me a ride to work! The lady who drove me was very pleasant.They kept me informed, even sent me a very detailed list of services they recommended with prices. I was very impressed by this. They were able to have my car finished by the time I left work. Prices were fair and honest. They vacuumed the front floor of my car and left a sweet stuffed animal in my daughter’s car seat!

I had a vehicle, 2014 Chevy Suburban, checked over for potential mechanical issues pre purchase at the location behind Planet Fitness on 13th Ave in Fargo.. The mechanics provided a thorough report which provided detailed easy to understand written explanations supported by pictures and price estimates in a timely manner.. Of note, Skip, a tech at the counter, was hospitable, friendly and professional. The diagnosis helped me make a pre purchase decision backed up with useful information.

I dont impress very easily when it comes to taking my vehicle to a mechanic. Does anybody now days? However...I was EXTREMELY floored by the service I received for my vehicle! The technology they used was up to date WITHOUT all of the up to date prices! I have never been so thoroughly informed on every aspect of my vehicles needs by an automotive center before. They gave me before and after pictures of everything they worked on and pictures of everything that will need to be worked on in the near future. Pictures of my engine, brakes, under the vehicle, fluids...you name it! No decisions were made without explanations and my prior approval. Also, I wasnt pressured into spending money on repairs that didnt have to be done until a later time. Ive finally found a new high quality automotive center for my vehicle and would highly recommend Matts for all of your vehicles service needs. Thanks guys!

I don’t usually post reviews but I am this time as a frustrated patron of Matt’s Auto. I brought my van in for a few concerns and yes the vehicle was attended to promptly the next day with a very hefty assortment of issues that I didn’t ask them to address. It took longer than anticipated to do the work required and I needed a vehicle which they provided but in the end my issues were not fixed and I paid a large fee for minor services and the original issue was forgotten until I returned home and had to bring it back to the shop to ask for the evidence of checking the coolant reservoir as originally requested. It was marked as completed but not actually done as it was still low. When my vehicle was returned home by a technician, there was a very obvious noise that the tech somehow didn’t hear driving back. This took more time, more energy from my day to once again bring back to have fixed. I knew it was from someone putting the front end improperly as the noise was very new and very loud. I was told I would be charged a fee to diagnose the issue and when I argued that I knew it was a simple thing that I’m sure they just assembled wrong, I was again told I would be charged and ultimately I was NOT charged as they realized it was their mistake on assembly. A simple brake line flush, oil change and tire rotation took almost a week to complete with multiple trips back and forth so I wasn’t impressed. Then the worst thing imaginable happened. I was on the open road at highway speeds for the first time with my toddler and infant sons in the back and a noise from the back was worse and worse. I pulled over in St Cloud (coming back to Fargo from Minneapolis) on a weekend this winter and had to get a rental car once again and knew something was dangerously wrong. I had to get my children home, leave my vehicle and the next day discovered I nearly lost a rear tire at highway speeds from the tire rotation done at Matt’s Auto. Of course I called looking for help and the shop manager was instantly defensive like it was MY fault I didn’t come back after 50 miles per the fine print on the paperwork he gave me after that week long misadventure previously. I am the survivor of a highway rollover accident where the driver of the pickup was unsafe and I paid the price with that accident nearly taking my life and then spending months in the hospital relearning how to walk so I take this situation very seriously... more seriously than most I suppose. Matt’s Auto was more interested in defending their liabilities than actually fixing the problem and I won’t be using their services anymore. They are fast, courteous, expensive and need a good shop foreman to make sure vehicles (ESPECIALLY TIRES) are mounted and driven and tightened correctly so they don’t cause anyone harm.

I have a cross country move coming up and wanted to make sure my car was good to go before I left. Many of my family members and friends recommend Matt’s and I am pleased with their services. Being a young female, it’s a little intimidating bringing my car into a shop, but the staff was so kind, knowledgeable, and genuine. They did the inspection on my car and got back to me quickly, listing items that I needed fixed as a red flag or yellow flag. Red flags were highly recommended to be done and yellow flags are things I should be watching, but weren’t a severe issue at the moment. That was very helpful, and when the staff went over the red flag items they explained why it should be fixed and what it does for the car. I felt informed and I felt like the staff was genuinely trying to help me.I also used Matt’s collision center to get my windshield fixed and the staff there was also very easy to work.It took about a week for my car to be fixed (I told them I wasn’t in a rush when I brought my vehicle in), and everyday I got a call from the shop that gave me an update on my car and the progress of their work.Overall it was great service and if I lived in the area Matt’s would be my go-to shop!One more thing I’d like to mention is I saw on their website that they occasionally give out free oil changes to single parents and teachers, among other things. I enjoy using a business that gives back to the community so much!

Ive only ever had a good experience with them, theyre always good about updating me on my repairs, get things done within the expected time, and are very straightforward about what is being done. Ive had terrible experiences with other shops, so Im really glad to be able to trust them with my car.

I purchased 4 new tires from Matt’s, they were able to get me in quickly, were able to get the tires that others said were special order same day. Had an oil change done and a very thorough inspection and found things the dealer missed that will be under warranty. Tires came with roadside assistance and they took care of my black rims that I had concerns a tire installer may scratch.

Great service! Vern walked me through the inspection of my vehicle, advising things to consider now or things to watch for later dates. Kind, helpful, timely, and a great space!

Our car was in Matt’s Automotive for 2 weeks after being hit by one of my daycare parents. We were very pleased with the customer service, Justin was was great! We never had to call about updates, they always reached out to us, they talked directly to our insurance company, when we got our car back it was clean inside and out, we even had a little stuffed animal in our car seat which our son loved. It’s the little things that make you appreciate and recognize companies. They go above and beyond. Very professional yet treated you like family. Hopefully we won’t need to return to a shop for a while but if we do, we plan to return to Matt’s automotive again and again. Highly recommended. They deserve a 5 star rating.

Matts auto assesed and solved problems that Fords dealership could not. Even though the cost for repairs was pricey it saved me money by correctly diagnosing and fixing my f150s engine issues. I will definetly go back for future repairs.

Had my son bring his car to them for a power steering leak. They looked at the car and told him it needed a new steering rack I did not agree with them so I brought it 300 miles back home,and actually looked at it myself the leak was a 25.00 dollar return hose for the power steering. They tried to get me for a 1500.00 dollar repair so to say the least Im not impressed

Working with Vern over at Matts was a great experience! He was extremely helpful when it came to explaining what was wrong with my Tahoe and what it was going to take to get it running well again. My Tahoe is now running great and and Verns repair quote was accurate as well.

Wasnt told how long it would take, but a lady came in shortly after me and was told about a half hour. So I sat down and less then 10 minutes later I was on my way. Friendly staff.Edit of ten minutes of reading the reviews....sounds like I may be in for more of a regular customer. Yesterday, Matts off 13th dedicated their whole day to giving single mothers (including me) free oil changes. I walked in and they had the paperwork already done and ready to take my car. The waiting area was very clean and everyone was so nice. The bouncy castle was there for kids to jump in. I didnt converse much because I had to hold back my tears. Its been very hectic for me personally these past few weeks and this was a highlight of my week. Thank you to Matt and all your employees for their compassion, integrity, and helping the community. I know this is just one small thing you do during the year but it means so much.

Service was very straight forward and informative. I received a call explaining some of the issues found during the inspection after our transmission fluid change, they even informed me of things that could probably wait. Staff was incredibly personable and nice.

I very highly recommend Vern Newman and his crewmen, all of them, but especially DAVE. Poor Dave was tasked to work on my 1993 Buick Roadmaster Hearse which had been sitting in a field for a while...Mice had taken over the air filter to use as nesting material and Dave duct-taped his jeans legs shut so the live ones wouldnt..well, you get the drift. I bought this car sight-unseen. I asked Vern to replace all the tires, hoses, everything rubber-y and hose-y, etc...And to make it safe enough for me to fly up to Fargo from Fort Worth, Texas and drive it home! And anything else he could find that needed fixing. He sent me pictures over text message to show me stuff that needed work and why. These guys are absolutely trustworthy. They didnt fix it if it wasnt broke, and they did fix what was broke! They went over my car for 3 weeks and made sure it was great! All this for a probably-not-returning customer. Hey, Vern...we sure could use you and your guys down here in Texas!!

Id just like to start with how appreciative I am for Matts, I took my car in had more then a few things replaced. They called and kept me updated with everything that was happening, all in all great customer service to go along with good work. Id definitely 10/10 recommend.

Called in and asked if they could take a look at an aggressive oil leak on my truck. They found a convenient time that worked with my schedule and got me on the books. I brought my truck in on time and they got me right in. I worked with their general manager, Vern who was very professional and informative as to what exactly was wrong with my vehicle. Got everything fixed, changed the oil, rotated my tires... even greased my suspension and cleaned off the bottom of my vehicle as the oil leak managed to coat the entire underbody of my truck.I was very pleased with the customer service as well as the work they did and would highly recommend Matt’s Automotive.

Had extensive repairs done here, one was a alternator replacement. Belt failed within 3000 mile of service and claimed this wasn’t there fault. While I can’t prove either way, a little bit o common sense would say they should have least stood behind there labor portion.DO NOT RECOMMEND

Staff was very kind and professional through the experience. I was always able to talk to somebody in the shop and stay informed about the progress they’ve made. They were accommodating and were able to supply a loaner vehicle after the vehicle was inspected. Getting to that point took significantly longer than expected, and the issue took a week to resolve for a simple(albeit, difficult to diagnose, as all electrical issues are) fix. 4/5 stars since Matt’s will always reliably be able to fix any issue they have come their way, depending on how busy their shop is. Check availability before towing if concerned about time.

I had a wonky problem which they couldnt fix, but this wasnt their fault. When I brought it it decided it didnt want to act up (go figure). Vern was still on top of it and explained why it could be acting up, at any rate he did bring some hidden safety issues to my attention that I didnt know about and we did take care of those.

I felt as though I was made a priority when I did a walk in d/t some sounds my car was making. Even though I didnt have an appointment, they got me right in when I mentioned that I had been there before. The place is super clean, new looking, and inviting and the customer service is wonderful! I thought it was cool that they emailed me with updates and I was able to approve services via email/online rather than having to talk on the phone every time there was a change. When I did call it never took more than 5-10 minutes to get a call back if somebody didnt answer. They gave me a rental car for free and I was able to use it for 2 weeks when there were some additional things that were found wrong with my car. Really great place, Ill go here for all of my vehicle needs as long as I live in the FM area!

Every time I go get something done from them he gets done in a timely manner and I never have to worry about them doing a poor job. I love how they value their customers.

As always, Matts is a picture of professionalism and doing the right job the first time. I do a lot of work on older vehicles and for the tough jobs that I may not have the capacity to get done, I always source this work out to Matts and they have always come through in these times of needs for me. If you are looking for the right mechanic that you can trust to get the job done for you, Matts is the place to turn! My neighbor and I have done enough car work to know when a mechanic is doing the correct job and Matts does an exceptional job in the work they have performed for us on those tough jobs.

It was my first time taking my vehicle to Matt’s Automotive and the first impression was amazing. I was immediately greeted by Jessica and Will and felt at ease. I was offered a ride home, but hung out at the shop and was told to make myself at home since I was staying. It was really nice to be able to charge my phone at their charging station and watch TV while my vehicle was being looked at. I will definitely be taking my vehicle back to Matt’s and will recommend them to all of my friends.

I honestly haven’t experienced such prompt and respectful service at an automotive shop in years! After using dealerships for the past several years (and finally getting fed up with them) it was refreshing not to be “sold” anything other than what I made an appointment for that day. I went in for a routine oil change and the service was completed effectively and efficiently; I was in and out in 40 minutes at most. I didn’t have to wait around in a showroom or feel pressured by associates. While waiting, I hung out in the lounge area which was extremely clean, inviting, and comfortable. The staff treated me with respect and was welcoming the second I stepped in the door. Honestly, absolutely necessary, I will not go anywhere else to service my vehicle! Matt’s was able to accommodate the added problem... quickly found the cause and repaired all. Appreciated the simplicity of text/email updates (with photos) while at work, and everyone I talked to was super helpful and kind. The auto tech did an excellent job.Only a couple recs, the shuttle service confused me. Initially I understood could pick up my keys at 1230, then later was left message and told pick up vehicle anywhere from 1030 to 1230, which wouldn’t work. I ultimately had my husband take me to shop early in am instead of shuttle with plan to have my vehicle delivered to my work place end of day. By end of day I learned shuttle stops at 5 pm, car was ready after 5, so had to call husband to drive back into town and then to shop to get vehicle. Adding a detailed description of how the service works, times available, on website would have saved hassle for planning my first service at shop. I also found when people left me messages and asked that I call back, was frustrating trying to reach person who called because I was never given an extension or direct way to reach the person... spent a fair amount of time on hold. However, now that I understand how their shuttle service works, will be much simpler to arrange next time. I am relieved to find a shop I trust, thank you. I will be back.

Ive been going to Matts Auto for years now. My last experience deserved a review. I recently took a car in for an inspection before deciding whether I wanted to buy this used car or not. They did a 70 point inspection and were extremely thorough. When the car was done they explained to me exactly everything that they found and answered all of my questions. What really got me, was after I had decided against the vehicle that they had inspected, I talked with William and Vern for a solid 20 minutes about their opinions and recommendations for a good, reliable vehicle. Vern wrote me a list of vehicles he recommends and a list to stay away from! He had a lot of amazing advice and they really went out of their way to help me out. Being a young girl, Ive never felt like they were taking advantage of me or being condescending in any way, which is a huge deal to me. They email me pictures of any issues they find and even offer to take me back to look at them. They have my business for years to come!

I had my vehicle towed in because it wouldnt start and I had a flat. They repaired the flat and replaced the battery. Then they gave me an estimate stating I had some bulbs that needed to be replaced. Instead of paying them their inflated price I decided to buy the bulbs and do it myself. The problem was when I drove off it wasnt just one or two bulbs. It was all of my interior lights, radio, and air conditioning. I have limited knowledge when it comes to vehicles and even I knew this was a fuse and not bulbs like they said. So I typed in my make/model and the problems I was having when I got home. The first thing that popped up was a fuse between the battery and the fuse box. How could they miss this? How much time of mine were they willing to waste? I will not be going back.

When I called over the phone to schedule a oil change they gave me a near exact price estimate in would pay in store. Relatively cheap. They were very knowledgeable and helpful. Their 70 point inspection helped me identify any future problems I would have with the vehicle. Definately will be returning for future service.

Vehicle pickup was so convenient due to covid. I was little nervous about trying out a new place but i was pleasantly surprised. I plan on doing all my future work with them.

Scheduled my service online. Awesome customer service from start to finish. Appointment confirmations when scheduled and again the day before. Preliminary estimate of charges eliminated any surprises in overall cost. With that in mind, the pricing is also far superior to that of my dealership. 10/10 would recommend.

Matts accommodates changing schedules and conveniently updates you through several methods of communication so you can approve further repair options, complete with links to estimates and pictures of what they intend to work on, before they work on it. Very professional and smooth transaction, definitely recommend.

First impression on entering the shop was pleasant surprise at the setting. Very clean and didnt have the typical grungy feel of many auto shops.The technicians I spoke with were all outstandingly helpful, knowledgeable, and quite pleasant to top it off.I went in to get a new set of all season tires and the employee walked me through different options and gave the impression he wasnt simply trying to make a sale but actually cared.

Great service and communication. Everything handled professionally, and when they ran into a problem, they let me know immediately and told what was what. Will now go to Matt’s for all our automotive serving needs.

I find Matts automotive center to be courtesy and professional. I have used them twice for an oil change and I think their prices are fair. I like the 70 point inspection and here is how I know that they are not trying to pull a fast one. During my recent oil change the technician found 2 issues: 1. corrosion on my battery and 2. air filter was very dirty. My car is 5 years old and so it would make sense that my air filter would be dirty. Plus a few days ago I filled my windshield wiper fluid and I noticed corrosion on my battery. As a women, I think that if they wanted to deceive me they would have picked something more costly. Plus the 2 items that they identified to me made total sense. The first time that I took my car for an oil change they did not identify any issues with my car. So I am confident that Matts does not try to deceive their patrons.

Called all 3 matts in town. Not one can pick up a phone. I left messages, and in 1 week no return calls.

My wife and I have been going to Matts Automotive service center for about 2 years. We trust them very much with how they handle our vehicles and with the reviews of our vehicles as well. They are always thorough and keep us informed of what needs to be addressed. We have been assisted at the desk by Vern whom is always friendly and informative. They have always done their best to make sure we either had a vehicle to loan for the day or a ride anywhere need when we dropped off our vehicle. We do all of vehicle work here. We will continue to be a loyal customer for many years to come.

The staff at Matts Automotive are definitely customer centered, thats one of the main reasons why I keep going back! I appreciated how Justin took the time to explain to me about what my car needed to have done. They are also very efficient, timely, and reasonably priced. I highly recommend them!
