I am very happy to share my very positive experience with PC TEK SOLUTIONS, which involved: [A] helping me decide what kind of laptop to purchase (after my old one suddenly developed motherboard problems); [B] saving files on my old hard drive; and [C] advice on the most appropriate operational software for my new laptop. All of this was accomplished within a couple of personal visits to PC TEK. Everything went smoothly, despite my concerns that I might have a long wait in order to resolve everything.

It was a pleasure to find a new doctor for my computers. He was very responsive to my kinda different needs that he had to get creative in order to resolve. I highly recommend him to you for any personal or small business needs.

This guy is probably paying for reviews.I called for an appointment at 1:50pm. He initially said it should work but then said 2pm since the techs already left.I get there at 1:57 and though the door sign says open it was locked. There wasnt anywhere to sit so I stood around until after 2:15. He said that on the phone he said 2:15.Well as long as I get the tech support not a big deal.I know a decent bit about computers and had been using the Command Prompt and Powershell to overcome an intermittant network connectivity issue which had recently worsened.He seemed honestly interested in helping but he didnt understand when I could not replicate the issue. Since it was an intermittant issue the issue would not always occur. He said exactly theres nothing to fix.I was then able to replicate the issue. He had me fill out a ticket myself on my cellphone. At other repair shops Ive been to Ive never had to fill out a ticket myself.He was annoyed that I submitted the ticket twice (even though his website is not mobile optimized so the confirmation message is not visible).As the last step I explained to him I had another keyboard language installed (another shop I had interacted with had an issue with that so I made sure to mention it).Apparently he thought I was talking down to him and he told me he didnt want to do business with me. I asked him how I could apologize and he said he just didnt want to do business with me. As I packed up my stuff I said I was just trying to help. In return he told me sternly Get out of my shop!Since he did seem like he wanted to help and was probably having a bad day I give him 2/5 stars.

I took my laptop to PK Tek when I couldn’t access it. Abdel is very professional, knowledgeable, hardworking and honest. He explained what needed to be done and how he was going to repair my laptop. He went above and beyond my expectations by recommending fixes that would make the computer more efficient. The cost was very reasonable considering the amount of work involved. I would recommend PK Tek and would definitely use them again if my computer needs to be repaired.

Communication on time estimates and updates wasnt perfect, but it wasnt bad. The repair was pretty cost efficient for the issue, which I know wasnt a trivial problem to fix, so Im pretty happy ultimately with the repair. The 60 day warranty is also nice.

If I could give it a sixth star, I would! Abdel saved me in crunch time. My laptop all of a sudden started making the loudest and oddest sounds and I wasnt sure what was going on. I rushed to his office to have it checked and in a matter of minutes he gave the correct diagnosis and started working on it meticulously. I came across this place on Yelp after my computer crashed during a power outage-Abdel helped bring my computer back to life in a timely manner using high quality computer parts and even came to my apt to help re-install my computer, not to mention setting up a method that automatically backs up my computer weekly-now I know where to take my computer for repairs in the future! This place is great. My laptop was running slowly and he advised me on new hardware to purchase, which he installed at a seemingly fair price. Dont be thrown off by the messy office, theyre very organized and quick to respond.

He had my issue fixed in a day but charged more than double what I know is the standard rate for the work he performed.I also found the Wi-Fi manually turned off in the device control panel, and recall a suspicious moment where I was not able to connect to the Wi-Fi in his office but he was able to connect when the screen was turned away from me. I called him and asked him if he did anything to the Wi-Fi in the process of performing his system diagnostics, he insisted no but wanted me to bring it back in.I dont feel confident enough to level any accusations, but that was definitely suspicious. I feel like this guy is hard-working and knowledgeable, but just go on your guard, and get his rate before you agree to any service.I was unfortunately distracted by other things and he took me to town, and tried to do it again.Edit: in the interest of being fair I will clarify the specifics of my complaint. He originally told me the only problem was that a faulty stick of ram was preventing boot up. He charged me $300 for this. After this review he called me and told me that he did work on the motherboard as well.After this review, he also told me that he would have fixed the Wi-Fi issue for free, but he did not tell me that at the time that I called him over the wifi not working, and of course the Wi-Fi was throwing an error 22 which almost always just means it was manually turned off.In any event all of these problems could have been avoided with a better paper trail.He should report his hourly rate and rate for specific type of work up front. He should report all that he did in any bills. The bill I got from him literally just said rate.

I took a laptop there to see if it could be repaired, but after price checking and looking at all of the options, it wasnt worth the price to fix it, so I ended up buying a custom laptop. Great quality and prices. Highly recommend!!

I was told I’d have an update the day I dropped off but did not receive one. ThenI was not called before repairs were actually made so I had no idea what the cost was, and the work was already done I had a fairly cheap device and the repair was more than it was worth. PC TEK worked a miracle recovering my MacBook Air back to full functionality after I spilled coffee all over my keyboard and then waited almost a full day to bring it in. In addition to the excellent work done at a competitive price for the Arlington/DC area, the entire experience was as pleasant as it could be with great communication.

Came in with a boot error. They were able to fix it, but we didnt finalize price until the job was done.They are a bit of a bootstrap operation, so expect to haggle or be very sure to get a quote up front.Also, expect to pay via venmo or PayPal.Would go back again.

There prices are reasonable and the work was excellent.

MacBook Pro needed a new screen. Replacement screen arrived in just two days and installation was done over a weekend to minimize downtime. Quality work done fast and very reasonable cost.

Abdul is the manager over at PC Tek Computer Repair. He completed one of the most challenging builds at his company and ended up completing it effectively and in record time. There were some frustrations in terms of getting the PC picked up (PC was not ready when I came to pick it up so I had to drive back home), however when I did finally pick it up it was done professionally and wrapped in bubble wrap. He assisted me in getting the monstrous PC to my vehicle and still has provided support and answers on maintenance and upkeep. I would definitely recommend him.

I got my laptop screen replaced, a free diagnosis for my other laptop that wasn’t working, and my data which I thought had been lost recovered and placed on an external drive Purchased saving me so much time and driving, as I live in D.C! Last minute I also decided to get a slow laptop fixed. He was not reluctant to fit it in his schedule, and got it a new Windows installed. The hard drive went bad in my 18-month old Dell laptop. I called PC Tek and was able to get an appt later that day. I went by and dropped off my computer. Diagnosis confirmed the bad hard drive and, lucky for me, they had a new one in stock. Abdel replaced the hard drive and reinstalled Win10 and had it ready for me that night! My 5 year old Samsung laptop was having intermittent WiFi connection issues and the battery would last about 30 minutes before the system would move into hibernation mode. What was thought to be a need for a new card and battery turned out to be exclusively software issues caused by a corrupted Windows 10 operating system. Abdel reformatted the hard drive, reinstalled the latest Windows 10 software, corrected the battery settings and within a couple of days, I had a fully restored laptop. Abdel was prompt and thorough in his assessment and fully explained what needed (and did not need) to be done to fix the device. PC Tek has my highest recommendation. I wouldnt think of taking a PC to any other place.

I had a great experience with PC Tech. My DELL workstation was freezing and after looking at the reviews selected PC Tech and took it in for repairs. Abdel of PC Tech was very responsive and informed me that he would need to run the diagnostics before providing an estimate. A reasonable estimate was provided and the job eventually completed to my satisfaction. I would like to note here that the issue was not resolved the first time round and some additional troubleshooting needed to be done which required the replacement of the RAM and the video card. PC Tech only charged me for the hardware and did not add any additional labor charges for the additional work that needed to be done.

They did an overall analysis of the computer, let me know their thoughts and whether it was worth repairing or not. My computer was not salvageable. I would have given them more stars if I could. Sought their help after reading the glowing reviews about their service and left extremely satisfied. Those guys are nice and very polite, they wont charge you for an estimate, and know their trade very well. Most importantly, they fixed my computer for a very reasonable price. Also got a lot of guidance regarding how to extend my computers lifespan and what to look for when buying a new computer. Abdel in particular was always generous with his time and knowledge. I came across PC TEK in a search for a place to recover my data when my laptop went black out of the blue. Abdel was very knowledgeable and explained everything that would need to be done to try and recover my data. He was very understanding and did everything he could to work with me and help me get back my information. After some time I now have a great like-new computer, with all my data! Had to take my HP tower in after a hacker got access. Abdel was great in that he was able to scrub the entire hard drive and reload Windows and all the data I had on the hard drive. Unclear whether I had spyware, malware or viruses, but what Abdel did gives me peace of mind that the computer is now clean and not compromised in any way. He also added some security programs (Norton/Malware Bytes) and showed me how to scan external drives to ensure no further contamination. Abdel also gave me advice on having my ISP reset my router. In short, he looked at every avenue of potential compromise and gave me the tools to ensure all was good - all at an very reasonable price. I will admit, his location and office made me a bit leery as it looks like it could be a fly-by-night operation. Rest assured, Abdel and his team are on the up and up (as evidenced by all the good reviews - including this one!). Im a satisfied customer and plan to bring other computers to him to fix/repair. My experience with PC TEK was wonderful. My computer was running slow for many weeks. Virus scans turned up no problems. PC TEK was able to diagnose and replace a bad hard drive. Now my laptop runs great again. Thanks to Abdel and Rocky for their excellent and timely work.

The center owner convinced me to give it a repair chance, if didnt work then they would do data-recovery- AND THEY WOULD ONLY CHARGE ME FOR THE PROBLEM SOLVING PROCESS THAT WORKED. Meaning: if they managed to repair then I pay for it. IF not, then I pay only for the data-recovery. WHO would reject such professional DEAL! I accepted. Next Day, I got my Lenovo alive+my data recovered for only ($120), they also installed a one-year Norton for only ($10) as a bonus for for first-time costumer. DONT WAST YOUR TIME, IF YOU HAVE PC PROBLEM JUST GO TO (PCT TEK COMPUTER REPAIR)- THEY ARE THE BEST.

Im really glad I took my laptop here for repair.My total cost was less than the diagnostic fee at other places (so less than $100), and I got my laptop back in less than 24 hours.The diagnostic service here is free, which worried me at first...but the results have left me a happy customer.There is another guy who works at the front counter -- he is polite and professional. Abdel, the actual tech repairman, worked late into the evening on my laptop, even calling me a couple times with updates & questions. So I felt informed what was happening and I knew the cost of the repair before I agreed to it.Id recommend this place to friends. Happy customer.

Fast and friendly service. Received good recommendations and now my PC works better than when I bought it. The shop can be a little hard to find. Its actually inside the building. Entrance is on the left side.
