In a world full of stress its nice to have a local mechanic you can trust. Ive been to Hogan and Sons a couple times now and the service has consistently been excellent and quick.They strike a good balance between two bay road side repair shops and monolithic dealership service centers, with the customer service of the former and the organization and ability of the latter.Mike in particular deserves a shout out for his excellent help and customer service, and down right friendliness.

As a broke college student who doesn’t know anything about cars I really appreciate the fair prices (according to my dad) and friendliness of the workers. They communicated with me very well. I dread finding something wrong with my car and having to get it serviced because I’ve previously been over charged by other places and told to fix things on my car that did not need fixing. Thanks to these guys I will no longer feel anxious about taking my car in.

I took my car there to get a tire as I had been down South. I had a blowout & needed to replace my tire. Go see Mike!! I had a 2 car project, both needed things done for wheels and tires, a break light, and inspection. Everything was so smooth, Mike was very informative and everything was completely in the time frame they gave me.

They seemed great in the beginning. Fixed a simple door issue (kids had jammed it), and *told* me that it was such a simple fix they wouldnt even charge me for it. Then, after I declined the nearly $700 charge for 2 new tires their story of the door suddenly changed and they tried to charge me first $84 for diagnosis then upped it to almost $200 for labor!!! The whole experience just felt like one big scam. I was disgusted and will never go back.***UPDATE TO OWNERS RESPONSE***Attempting to dispel the lies:(1) When I dropped the vehicle off in the morning Mike told me absolutely, explicitly told that there would be no charge for the door, that any issues would be covered by my CarMax warranty. There was *no* quote of $84 for diagnosis.(2) When I called to check on the van, Chris said there was no charge for the door, that it was such an easy fix he wasnt even going to call CarMax.(3) Mike later called to tell me my front tire needed to be replaced and clearly quoted me $680 (not $480) for the two tires in stock. After I refused those he then said there would be an $84 charge for the door.(4) The refund was only issued after I came back in the next day to complain. Chris actually argued with me for more than a few minutes about why $177 was a fair price to fix a jammed door that he original said was such an easy fix there wouldnt be a charge. He finally agreed to bring it back down to the original erroneous $84 charge, and then, yes, eventually removed the charges all together.So, yes, eventually Hogan & Sons did the right thing and removed the charges that they originally said wouldnt be there in the first place. I just want to let other customers know that they might have to fight to get a fair price here.

This is the second time I have brought my car to Hogan & Sons for car repairs. This time it was to replace a Fuel Tank Pressure Sensor. The online quote process was very easy and I received one within 24 hours. They were able to order the part necessary for my car and by the time I arrived for my scheduled appointment, they immediately got my car into the service bay and a few hours later my car was ready. After driving the car around for several years not knowing how much gas was in the tank, it feels good to have a gas gauge that works. When ever little mechanical annoyances occur, its always helpful to know where to go for trusted, quality service. Thanks Hogan & Sons and keep up the good work.

Took my car for a simple oil change service and asked me to come back after 2 hours, but when I did I found that my car had not even started being worked on. Upon asking why they could not call and let me know my car was not ready, instead of being empathetic / apologetic all I got was snyde comments. Sorry state of customer service, and with someone whos been a loyal customer for years. Definitely lost my business.

I have been going to Hogan for many years now, and have 3 cars that are serviced there. They are always very professional and super friendly, and get my car done in a timely manner. That said, although they were cheaper than going to the dealer, I recently found out that their pricing is much higher than others...I literally saved $600 for the same services and quality by going somewhere else.

They failed to say that they do not do inspections at their shop. They drive it to the Sunoco next door for the inspections. However, they did not tell me this until they after they had my car on their lift for over an hour. looking for other things wrong with my car - which are not required as part of the safety inspection itself. Had I known this, I would not have used them. It took over 2 hours for the inspection! Save yourself time and take your vehicle to a shop that actually does the safety inspection.

I highly recommend this wonderful Tire shop. After being treated rather shabbily at another place, I’m so glad I found Hogan and sons. They greeted me warmly and were eager to help. They did great work, made suggestions for my car, without pressure to spend outside of my comfort level. My car drives beautifully now. Mr. Ellecion was wonderful!

Went there to have set of Goodyear eagle F1s mounted on high end powdercoated forged TWS wheels. They scratched the powdercoating badly just installing the balancing weights. I got home and went to mount them on my VW, the wheel weights on another wheel are already falling off. I paid for lifetime balancing.......like I’ll ever be back to this shop. What a joke. Stay away from this shop of you want quality work. I can only image what they would do on a more complicated job.I’ve added photos so you can see the quality of the fine work they provide

Horrible experience. I had an appointment for a tire Change on 1/11/2020. When I got there 15 min earlier I went to check in. I told them I had an appointment and they couldn’t find my order. I didn’t mind it, it was not a big deal. I called to cancel my order and I decided to buy the tires in the store instead. They told me to wait and a while later a mechanic comes out and tells the man that was helping me that the other mechanic broke some of the tpms. I heard the conversation and I was wondering what else happened. Few minutes later the mechanic that was removing the tires comes out and speaks loudly to the rest. He said “ some of the tire tpms were corroded” when he said that I was mad because they were telling two different stories. The guy over the counter comes to me and tells me while lying to my face that they are stuck. At this point I was angry and all I wanted is to leave. They did give me a discount, which is nice but it is not necessary to be trying to lie in front of my face. Never coming back here.

Hit a curb a while back and blew out 2 tired, ugh... I showed up there about 10 minutes before they closed hoping hey could help me. Turned out they did have the 2 tires in stock but the guy at the counter Andrew(not sure if he was the manager but should be), stayed and put on the tires staying almost an hour after closing to make sure I was back on the road. Hats off to Andrew! I would recommend to anyone!!!

They mounted and balanced snow tires on my truck, new tires on my wifes car and fixed a leaking valve on my daughters car. Went to Hogan to check my alignments after I minor accident. I had a coupon for a free alignments check up and $20.00 off of the service. I was offered a free check up for the whole car to make sure nothing else was damaged. Great staff, friendly and professional. Will I come back? Absolutely!

Ive been taking my car to Hogan & Sons for around two years and am consistently impressed with the quality of service. Even without an appointment, the mechanics are usually able to fix any issues the same day and I fully trust their integrity; I never feel like Im being oversold or like theyre using scare tactics to add on unnecessary services.

At first I needed service for a tire plug, which Joe was happy to do just minutes before closing time. Encouraged by his kindness, I decided to purchase new tires, and Alan helped me with that. Now I am so accostomed to being put down or humiliated by service personnel for not even knowing the basics of my vehicle, especially the tires. Alan was the opposite: compassionate and informative, he made the tire purchasing painless and was gentle with my lack of automobile knowledge. Everyone was friendly and very accommodating--even if I once again had service right before closing time. Highly recommend them, great hours, great people.

I stopped by per my sisters positive recommendation of this place. I was headed back to NYC and my rear taillight blinker was out. I was nervous to make the trip without having it fixed. My battery died and I needed somewhere to get it checked. The first place I stopped did not help me. I walked in and Joe immediately helped me. He and his crew were very busy but got me in and out in under an hour without an appointment with a new battery. The prices were reasonable and Joe was willing to work with me. Excellent customer service. I would use them again because they seem to care about their customers needs.

Hogan & Sons is the place you want to go when you need new tires. It was my first time getting tires and I was afraid of the BS they’d try to feed me (after receiving false info from other shops), but all I received was honesty. I was shocked! Not only that, the tires I wanted weren’t fully in stock so they upgraded my tires for no extra cost! It was a very pleasant experience and Jason Piper was able to answer all of my questions. I’ll definitely go back for any other vehicle services.

I went for fixing a flat tire and the supervisor gave a quote of $38 for fixing the leak and wheel balancing. I told him that I don’t need wheel balancing but he stressed that it’s the package and he can’t reduce. While the other places charge $20 for fixing flat tire. And point to be noted is that not all flat tire requires a wheel balancing.Then they inspected the car and said the nail damaged the tire and need to replace the tire. And he recommended to change both the rear tires. With all tax he gave me a quote of $330. I said I don’t have the money and can’t afford it.I checked the price of the tire online in Goodyear site choosing the same store. It was just showing as $93 and he quoted it for $113. After sometime he said that he will give a discount of $10 on each tire. After sometime he asked to change at least one tire. I avoided to change the tires in this place as the manager / supervisor / store is not honest with me.Then I took the car to a near by mechanic, he hardly spent 5 mins to pull out the nail from the tire and seal it. Then he said my car is good to go with a smile. I respect that old man.Try to be honest.

Best service I have ever received!Hogan and Sons replaced my two front tires and wouldnt you know it within a week, I had somehow run over another nail and woke up to a flat front right tire!I was unable to get the tire off of the car so they sent Ruben to my house with an air compressor to re-inflate the tire so I could drive it up to the shop. He was amazing.When I got there, Alex was already aware of the situation and they were ready to get working on repairing the tire.This place is fantastic. No nonsense service, friendly staff, and a level of customer service I have rarely seen. Especially in auto care. Id give them 10 stars if that was an option!

Very friendly, but either inept or completely ripping me off. Paid for thee oil changes and some free inspections with a Groupon. They needed a physical card to honor the deal, and dont honor it if you get a new car. I went there three times to get the the oil changes I paid for, and I paid full price for two of them. They offered to honor the inspections even though I got a new car. Then they broke my radiator cap while inspecting it and charged me 35 bucks for the cap I needed to drive away ($25 mark up for something that worked when I brought it in). The mechanic who did the inspections told me I had a bad wheel hub so I checked it out. It would be obvious to anyone who knew what they were doing it was a bad tie rod. Maybe I should have explained that I grew up fixing my own cars back in the Midwest. Maybe I should have been a jerk and thrown a fit. Maybe I shouldnt have too. Ill give them this though, they were very friendly.

On 25 February, I went there to fix my cars flat tire. They pulled my car to fix it but later the store manager Ken Gilbert told me that all the tire should be changed because of tire tread wear. He told me the cost of all four tire will be about $750 and then I stepped back as I couldnt afford it. Then he assured me that i could pay it on monthly installment for six months on 0% finance. He asked me for my social security number just to check whether i qualify for that or not and i gave him my information. On the time he was checking my document I goggled the price of four tire which was $540 on Costco including their fee and every thing and i told him i dont want to change the tires currently and postpone it for later. But today i got the credit card from the Hogans and sons which i never applied. He never talked about applying for the credit card and misused my information. Even though their service is good but they charge very high for the costumers. For few dollars they get on making new credit card, they misused my information and send a credit card which i never asked and applied affecting my credit. I just recommend others to check price on other store before replacing any parts from this store.

Easy to make an appt, work done on time, reasonable prices

I had the bad luck of blowing out a sidewall. I had the good luck of doing it next door to the Hogans in Falls Church. I could have had my car towed anywhere for free through my auto service, but I decided to check Hogans first since they were at hand. That turned out to be a really good idea. Wally and Ben bent over backwards to get me back on the road ASAP at a really fair price. Even though my car was technically not on their lot, they jumped through many hoops to avoid waiting for a tow truck to move the car 100 feet. Plus, Wally kept getting the price lower by finding discounts I could qualify for. We are so used to being wary of auto repair shops, but the folks at Hogans have earned my trust and sincere thanks.

We believe that this service is complete and should solve the mechanical problem.

This appointment was a waste of time. I took off half a day of work for an appointment for an oil change. I was told that I could come in earlier for the appointment. When I arrived (on time), I was then told it would take 3 hours for the oil change because things came up. No one had mentioned anything when I had called earlier in the day to come in earlier. This wasted my time and it should not take 3 hours for an oil change.

I have a 2002 Lexus IS300. Ive been alternating my services by going to the Lexus dealership and then to Goodyear to save money since my car is old. This Goodyear shop replaced my front rotors & breaks faster than the Lexus dealership changed my oil recently. Im pleased!

Hogan and Sons of Falls Church has performed competent preventative maintenance and brake repairs on my 2001 Mercedes-Benz E320. In the 18 months Ive brought my car to them, Will and Ray (the manager and assistant manager) and their team have never yet failed to fix the problem - mechanical or electronic! They have cheerfully honored their own warranty, when rarely necessary. I can honestly recommend Hogan and Sons of Falls Church.

I was visiting and my rental car picked up a nail in one of the rear tires. I called the rental agency and they sent me to Hogan & Sons to have the tire repair. The store manager, Denis Gallegos, was very friendly and took care of me right away. Great experience!

I bought 4 tires with a 65, 000 miles warranty. Paid more than $700 for this and after i drove 20, 000 miles the tires got worn out. I went back to them with my receipt and explained things. The manager was not helpful at all. I am totally shocked why they give 65k guarantee and deny it.

Service is generally friendly and fast, and quality seems good. They also give me a ride home when I need it. They keep service records in the computer, which can be handy. Good magazines in the waiting area - this wouldnt be a deal-breaker, of course, but it is a nice touch.The only negatives: Once my husband bought a brake light at Advance Auto Parts thinking hed install it himself but then decided to just ask H&S to do it along with some other work, and someone gave him attitude for bringing in his own part. Another time an argument in the garage got so loud that it was uncomfortable to be in the office. Weve been many, many times over the years, though, and the vast majority of times everything has been great.

A friend recommended Hogan and Sons to me when I was freaking out about one my passenger side door not opening and concerned that my drivers door would be next, no one wants to be stuck in the car. They were able to get me in quick and return my car back to me same day after being pretty efficient and accurate with their time estimation. I called a couple people and was told that they would likely have to order the part and I would have to wait, luckily Hogan and Sons has a warehouse that has probably every part they need and are able to get it same day.Before leaving after they fixed my doors I asked about my brakes. They were able to give me an estimate and a good time frame for when my brakes would be completely unsafe to drive on. I wasnt prepared for having to pay for both my doors and brakes in one sitting. So I came back, called ahead to see if they could get me in, and brought my car by one afternoon. They were true to their original estimate and helped me out because I am a student. I appreciated all their patience in the process of explaining things to me. They were also true to their estimated time and I was in and out with new brakes before Friday rush hour.I also got new tires. I know it sounds like my car is really struggling but the doors were a manufacturing problem that should be recalled and the brakes were old. The tires had been stretched for a few months since I first was told they needed to be switched out but I didnt want to listen then. So based on their customer service and the fact that I was already getting my brakes fixed I got new tires.I thought the pricing was reasonable for parts and labor for everything I got done. I feel safer in my car. The front desk people know cars and are able to give customers a reasonable idea of what needs to get fixed now and what is safe to wait on to fix, from my experience and listening in to other customers while I waited. They were friendly and made me feel less stressed about my car problems.They have a credit card option to pay in installments if you arent able to pay at that time and they are located next to Safeway and a plaza so you dont have to just wait in the sitting area. During my stay here on the east coast I believe that Hogan and Sons will be the place I take my car to. Hopefully nothing happens but if something does they come with a year warranty on their services.

I was getting a tire replaced and dropped it off on Tuesday for replacement. Was told the tire would be in by Thursday and Id be called, Had to call them to determine the status. Was told the next day, Id be called. Friday, they said it was in and I just needed to set an APPOINTMENT for Saturday. When I got there at the scheduled time, was told it would take an hour to put a tire on the car. Absolutely ridiculous.

My daughters tire had a slow leak I couldnt identify so i brought her car in with no appointment. They were able to get to my car quickly and repair the failing, old plug in the tire for a very fair price.

My experience here was absolutely horrible. I mean I know some mechanical do streach the truth to make a little more money. But to lie completely and tell me that I need to drive all the way to Herndon (16miles) to the nearest inspection place, when they give car inspections themselve right here. That was unbelievable. Never would I recommend then for anything to anyone.

Hogan and Sons Goodyear has Excellent service! I have been there 2 times now and every visit has been positive. Before going to Hogan and Sons, I went to Merchants Tire to get a basic oil change, I was told that I had a gas leak due to bad rear and front shocks (which was very untrue). I was told by Merchants that I needed to fix my rear shocks or I would risk serious damage to my car, so I got them replaced (or so I thought). After being charged for the rear shocks and labor (over $400), I took my car to Hogan and Sons to get my front shocks checked out. Come to find out I was shown that new rear shocks were never put on my car and I realized I was charged for nonexistent new shocks and labor by Merchants. I was also shown that I didnt even need new shocks to begin with. It was very reassuring to get the TRUTH from Hogan and Sons. Everyone was very friendly and helpful and I will never take my car anywhere but Hogan and Sons again!

The store manager, mike quinta, was extremly helpful and provided excellent support. I was in and out in a shorter amount of time than what was told to me over the phone. Overall great shop! I will come back for all my car needs! :)

I have never had an issue with H&S and am kinda shocked with some of the bad reviews on here. The first time I brought it in, I needed to do some basic maintenance and and a state inspection. Unfortunately it failed (but hey, it is an older car - a 96) but they identified the issues and did the repairs. It failed again but it was because H&S missed something on the first pass through...but wait heres where it gets good - they admitted it was their fault, fixed the item for free AND paid for my next state inspection! Talk about customer service. :) They are always honest with me on repairs that I need and if I dont want to do something they are not pushy at all.I have to say I have had some of the best customer service for Hogan & Sons which is a VERY big deal for me. I would recommend my friends to go here and I will always be a repeat customer.

I spent 2 hours and $247 today for two new tires on my small car - a new personal record. But what really bugged me was when the service technician tried to convince me that I should get an alignment and a power steering flush that I clearly didnt need. I still would have added an extra star to my review if theyd had Wi-Fi available for customers, but they didnt.

The only place I let touch my vehicle (Subaru WRX). I had accidentally blown a relay fuse in my cars computer system, leaving the car nonfunctional. A local mechanic informed me that I needed an entirely new computer system, however the guys at Goodyear (Hogan and Sons), traced the problem to the computer and realized it was only a fuse. What could have been a thousand + repair only cost me a little over $100 in labor. Theyve also been my source for regular oil changes, tires, batteries, brakes, and other maintenance. I have since moved to Baltimore but still bring my car to them whenever im back in the area for routine maintenance. The management staff are very helpful and they have some very good mechanics on hand. I highly recommend them.

I am giving 1 star because i dont have option to give 0. These guys cheated me. I went this store to check why my car staring and break pad shakes when I apply break on higher speed. Obviously it was the break issue, After first analysis he gave me estimate for ~1400 which has service needed for transmission fluid, resurface rotors and other service not related to braeks. So I asked him to first help me fix current issue (and thinking that if he does fine on the job I might think to do all he recommends). So he suggested only to do front rotors resurface. He charged me $200 for that. And the problem was not solved. he called me and suggested to do rear side of break rotor resurface (my rear end breaks were brand new!!). I did not argue with him knowing that this guy just wants money. I took my car to check with other 2 mechanics ie Toyota dealer and other good individual mechanic who confirmed that the front break pad and rotors should be replaced. Doing the rotors resurface was total waste of money. I went here for goodyear brand but they totally failed it. Lost $200 for nothing. Please dont waste your money here. Go to some good dealer or even other goodyear place but not here.

I have been coming to Hogan & Sons for many years. First, their Leesburg store. When I moved to Alexandria a couple of years ago, I changed to their Falls Church store. I have never received anything but good service, a good value, good advice, above & beyond ... I get a shuttle ride to / from work in Tysons. I have nothing but good things to say. And they always have a coupon on their Facebook page!

Got towed in before closing with a flat tire. Was out the door at closing with a replacement tire under my road hazard. Thanks Hogan & Sons

Either incompetent or not trustworthy! I just recently got my brakes replaced along with a tune up on my Ford Fusion about 8 months ago or so. I went in to get my emissions done, and was told Hey we can get the guys next door to do the emissions test BUT first let us check your vehicle for anything that would make you fail an emissions test (This made me laugh... if you dont already know if you fail the emissions test, you have 14 days to get it fixed and come back to the same place to have it redone for free).... So I said ok, and wouldnt you believe it, they came back to me and said I needed new brakes! Knowing the mechanic was being dishonest, I said forget it Im never coming back to this place, and went to another emissions place and passed no problems the same day.Sad.

Came in for an oil change. And they found everything was wrong with my car. 😒 after getting a full service before moving to the area and only driving it on the weekends(🤦‍♀️). Dont come here! Lesson learned oh and add tax, labor fees, shop supply fees, and fees and fees to your total.

Never again!! Took my car in for an inspection and on the way out my GPS unit was missing. When I asked management to take responsibility, management implied that I am a liar and to get out. The manager was rude and not for a second apologetic. Shame on you!

The only reason I gave this place one star is because there is no option for -10. Thats a better rating. Not only they didnt do any work that they were supposed to on the car, when I came to pick it up service manager Ray Bouaichaoui was very arrogant and RUDE to me. I never got even a sorry from him about not getting job done. The worst place Ive ever been!

I own/drive a stage II turbo VW GTI.In the last two weeks i have gone to Hogan and Sons twice for work and talked to Mike extensively before getting each job completed.For installation of my performance pads and rotors, not only did they give me the best price in the area, he went into detail what would be done. Cleaning, sanding off rust etc...to make sure the install went right and would last.The second time i was there was to replace all four of my tires. I have low profile 225/40r18 w/ tpms. I looked at tirerack to get them shipped and mounted/balanced somewhere else. After calling around, Mike got my business, it turned out ot be cheaper to go through him ordering the tires and mounting them, then paying online, shipping them, and getting someone else to mount and balance. ALSO IT WAS QUICKER...he didnt have the tires on hand, but he got them onsite within 24hrs. This coming after ordering me a set of tires and me changing my mind to go w/ another set. That day we talked on the phone for about an hour, during the time he was more than helpful and courteous.Both installations went smoothly, for the brakes i dropped the car off, within 3 hours it was complete and they called me immediately it was completed. The tires i waited for and it took them an hour.I also own a BMW ///M Roadster i will be taking her there too for work..Hopefully yall find this useful.
