Staff professional, knowledgeable and creat a comfortable atmosphere. Gym clean with a variety of equipments. However its my opinion that their contract be revisited.... to offer 3, 6, 9 months and a year contracts to accommodate everyone.
Great gym and left an amazing review previously but moved to Oklahoma and canceled my membership in march. still getting charged even after ABC Financial said my membership was set to be canceled in April. Theyre are other options that wont go back on their contracts.
Wasnt really impressed with the equipment. Total lack of organization with the weights and the setup just didnt feel right. Also, it felt slightly dirty (more than your typical gym).On a positive note. The employees seemed happy, lighting was good and the customers seemed motivated.I give the scenery a 6 out of 10 being the best.
The gym itself is quite new, diverse and meets most workout styles and needs. However, the sales team is a bunch of pushy vultures. Iβm 7 months pregnant. My fiancΓ© and I intended on getting the membership where I could bring him as a guest (as we nearly always, at any gym we have been to) go together to workout. No fewer than 10 times did this man pressure us for my fiancΓ© to also buy a membership citing that I would be taking time off in my pregnancy or post partum period? I was floored. How does a man make the determination of what time I will (or more likely than not, wonβt be) taking off? Also, believe me, we werenβt worried about the membership fee or nominal βsavingsβ of getting two memberships at once. Only wanted to logistically try our own method first and down the road if a second membership is necessary we will happily sign up for one but certainly not before because some dude keeps harassing us to do so under the guise of it being such a βsavingsβ to do so. We do not care about the price of buying separate memberships if necessary which he wasnβt gathering. He would have had better luck had he learned to keep his lips a bit more zipped. It took me years to return here due to a serious issue canceling a membership about 7 years ago. I came back for the facility itself, seems though from all recent reviews their cancellation policy remains in question. Trying to shake off yesterdayβs pushy and inappropriate sales scheme and start back up on a positive note but it left a seriously bad taste in my mouth. On the contrary, met a lovely woman named Stephanie who works there though. Helped redeem the place. Nice facility but be prepared for an experience worse than buying a used car to sign up.
Its almost impossible to cancel your membership. The contract is absurd, and they charge $60 late fees. Signing up is not worth going through the effort of cancelling later on. Proof of relocation and medical reason or military is required for cancellation. Just pick a different gym...
Great club, have been a member for about a decade, great machines, layout, since the COVID hit they followed all the protocols and have been keeping their members safe. Now that they are open to full capacity, Iβm wondering why the club is not back to being 24hrs a day? Is COVID more contagious at night? The main reason why I chose this club was because of its hours, Iβve asked and emailed and havenβt gotten any answers. Very disappointing and if this doesnβt change quickly Iβm going to cancel this membership.
This is a great gym, large, well-lit and well designed. It is perfect for getting a focused workout as most people, even those in groups, are here primarily for fitness and not socialization. The staff are amazing and friendly, and the smoothie bar has a lot of variety. Two small improvements:- Have one more bench that can be moved around for the Smith stations. There are only 2 and there are 3 Smith stations.- The Bicep curl stations are limited in number and variety. This is the only muscle group I need to improvise around the equipment limitations, and ad hoc improvisation is the enemy of the routines that people serously into fitness have.
Peter was super helpful and welcoming. He gave me a free day pass and offered the best membership. The gym is big and I didnβt have to wait much for room.
Canceling membership was such a huge headache. I provided all the proof they needed even more than what i should had and even then they still did not cancel my membership. Cancelation shouldnt be such a huge problem...
I am not one to write reviews- literally this is my first time but I can not stand The Edges membership contract. The gym itself was clean, nice, had friendly employees, etc. but I moved away and the process you have to go through to cancel your membership is insane. I should not have to provide personal medical information or my whereabouts to get out of a gym contract. The Edge has literally been harrassing me about paying my dues yet I have been trying for over a year to cancel.
The gym is well maintained. Lots of choices, varieties of equipment to choose from.
At first I didnt want to go to gyms because I felt self conscious about my weight but after some convincing from my brother. I started to enjoy it and would reccomend all edge fitness gyms to everyone
The club has clean facilities and takes health very seriously the staff are polite and the gym goers keep to themselves price kinda high but if you know you want to look good Id say its worth it
Iβm a regular here! The gym is pretty simple and the staff is friendly.
Fair price point; but very crowded at most times; laughably crowded for a pandemic but most people wipe down equipment after they use and all wear masks. Id suggest that without scanning out as people leave you really have no idea how many people are in the gym at any time. One consistent problem is that many members feel no obligation to rack their weights at all. While not the fault of the Edge, perhaps there could be some staff member on the floor putting weights back etc vs 4-5 people behind the counter in the front at any given time.
I used to be a member to this gym before becoming disabled. It is a very clean and safe facility and includes almost everything you would need to get a great workout in. Canceling my membership was made easy with GM Mike Hess. He was courteous and understanding of my situation and took care of me on the same day! Actually the same hour. Thank you for making this situation go as smooth as possible
This gym is the π£bomb....I love it
I was a member of The Edge for years. Left to try LA Fitness for a year, and then signed back up at The Edge because honestly, its a much nicer gym. However, the way they are treating agreements during a GLOBAL PANDEMIC is horrifying. I tried to cancel and was told I needed a doctors note. Well I got a doctors note that says I cannot continue to go to the gym due to a chronic health issue. They are still not letting me cancel. No problem. You will get my money for the year and after that youre losing what would have been a life time customer. Imagine a HEALTH CLUB putting your $20/month above your HEALTH. This place is a joke.
I liked this gym. Clean and friendly staff. The only issue, it is packed with people and its impossible to keep social distancing. I dont think I will renew my membership next year.
Orange and Stratford edges are great. Staff at this one unfortunately (at least the evening shift) are trash at best. Iβm sure their lives are just as much of a mess as they run this place.
New to CT, this club has higher end equipment including Life Fitness which is planets above the competition! I found this location to be very spacious as well as extremely clean which is important especially during this challenging time. The employees have all been friendly and easy to deal with. For the first time in a while I feel like Im getting the best value in a monthly gym
Hereβs just another reason not to join The Edge!My girlfriend and I used to belong here, I ended up moving and left the gym and she continued to workout there. Apparently they changed their membership cancellation policy during the pandemic. How convenient for themselves. My girlfriend is a healthcare professional who works with oncology patients so as apart of her work they ask her to limit her exposure and to be mindful of her patients. Well The Edge wonβt let her cancel her membership. Beyond the high level of customer service they offer, the edge is a gym that will scam every dollar they can out of you. Err on the side of caution and read the fine print and updated policies. I will never walk into that gym again. Enjoy the inside sales calls that ignore DNC laws too.
The gym is nice. The cancellation process is absolutely horrific. So if you donβt plan on staying at this gym forever then donβt sign up. Also this gym is so cold!! I love wearing cut offs and tank tops to the gym but find myself getting goosebumps, finding it hard to break a sweat, and my muscles spasm a lot more in cold conditions. Other than the cold and itβs terrible cancellation process itβs a great gym.
This gym is a joke do not sign up here. Their cancel policy is a complete joke like all the staff members. The facility is infested with people, way too over populated and do not follow covid guidelines. Worst gym in CT
I loved it will be going back tomorrow afternoon.
Understandably this gym was closed due to COVID. I submitted a request to cancel in June 2020 - to which I received confirmation in July 2020 (even though their financial firm guarantees response in 2-3 days; it took 3-4 weeks). I was charged August 2020 for a gym enhancement fee after my cancellation was processed; after the gym had been closed for 4 months. When I called to speak with someone about the issue, I was put on hold 4 different times on 4 separate days to speak with a manager about a charge reversal. I was guaranteed a call-back on 4 separate occasions with no call-back. I was able to get on the phone with a manager today - after my 5th attempt to get this issue resolved - and the manager said the enhancement fee was supposed to be charged in May but was charged in August as a courtesy. How is it a courtesy to charge an annual enhancement fee for your gym? This is a fee that Ive paid year over year to help with the facilities maintenance which shouldnt be the members responsibility in the first place. How is it a courtesy to charge someone who is no longer a member & who only had access to this gym for 3 out of the 12 months of the year? STAY AWAY. There are far better options in town with honest, communicative staff that actually care about your well-being and finances amidst a pandemic. What a heartless way of doing business.
Always been good to me good equipment clean environment good staff friendly people never had a problem there
I have no quarrel with the facility itself. Very nice gym as gyms go. But, I am over 60 and I do not feel safe re-entering the gym due to Covid-19. I feel that this is an exception to their contract rules. Not only will they not let me out of my contract, but they have tacked the three months on to the end of my term due to the months they were closed and didnt charge, making me pay through March of 2021 as opposed to December 2020. It was also suggested that I could freeze my membership month by month for up to three months. What good would that do me - I would then be stuck with the dues for another year. This is unethical in my opinion and I am reporting it to the Atty General of CT and anyone else I can find that would see it for what it is - stealing from an older person who fears for her health, plain and simple. I see a full parking lot most days so they can certainly survive without me.
Clean on the way bothers you and sits just quiet
Very bad quality to resolve the issues, made improper deals on my account and now says that they can not resolve. I went to my bank to close undue charges! and go to court to solve my case! and terminate my plan.
The gym itself is fine, but lately Ive noticed theres way too many people. I used to be able to come at certain times to avoid all the vermin and sheep hogging up equipment and barely using it. But now its packed unless its 12 in the afternoon on a week day. I cant say its The Edges fault because at the end of the day its a business and theyre trying to make money. Just wish there were way less people.
Run by kids music too loud cant hear my headphones, most machines old and worn not smooth action or proper weight per setting.
Be very careful when you join this gym especially the facility located in Fairfield Connecticut the managers arenβt trying to deal with financial situations. We cancel our membership with ABC financial little over four months ago so then we started to check on our financial institution and we found out that this gym was still taking money from our account even though months after we cancel one of the managers Mr. Carl new about everything it was unable to do anything to help us to This day little over five months We are still getting charged by ABC financial in another words we are still getting robbed so please read your contract when you joined The other gyms we found are much better and easier the LA fitness for example works without contract, the equipment is much newer and the place is much more presentable there is no contract or financial institutions involved.
I love it but hate going with my friend
I have enjoyed my membership, PT sessions and Edge Strong Classes at the Edge in Fairfield for many years. That said, due to COVID-19 I am very uncomfortable using the gyms facilities moving forward. I understand the gym will implement new and improved processes to combat COVID-19, but I personally am not interested in taking the risk for myself and my family. As a result, Ive tried the following avenues to cancel, but have been repeatedly denied:- Contacted ABC Financial 2x- Called ABC Financial Customer Support- Escalated my request to an ABC Financial Supervisor- Spoke to an Executive member of the ABC Financial TeamThe club refuses to cancel my membership, which puts me as a long term loyal Edge customer in a terrible position. I can no longer stand by the Edge or recommend the facilities to my network until this is resolved. Please let me know how best to cancel my membership at this time.
Staff are friendly and knowledgeable. Gym equipment is in good shape. Ample parking and easily seen from street. Personal trainers are very knowledgeable and professional.
Great place to workout. Friendly atmosphere.
I feel for the money you spend, you should be able to use all the machines. During peak times it is very hard to get a good work out.
Poor layout. Over crowded and overall not a good gym. Came from bsc in Boston and la fitness. Going back to la fitness. Staff is also pretty underwhelming. The contract they make you sign is an awful deal for all but them. Yep
Sitting down to βtalkβ about a membership with these people is about the least enjoyable expierience one can have. They PRESSURE you into signing up for long term contracts, they try to get you to sign up and buy tons of additional stuff you donβt need and try to trick you throughout the process. In addition to the laughable management- lots of stuff goes βmissingβ from lockers at the Fairfield edge. Donβt bring anything of any value in because people βloseβ belongings all the time. Facilities are decent- which is the only reason for the second star. Do better.
Ive been going to the Edge in Fairfield for over 3 years. Its a great gym - very clean with all of the equipment you need. It can be crowded at times, but its big enough that it never feels too crowded (except in January). Its open 24 hours Mon-Fri which is a great perk.
They sell you unlimited guest membership and when you try to bring two friends in they tell you its not unlimited, its only one guest at the time, which was never mentioned online when signing up for a membership. Then it shouldnt be called unlimited,it should be called one guest at the time, this way people are getting scammed by this title.
I joined the fitness edge about a year ago.Staff are friendly and knowledgeable. Gym equipment is in good shape. Ample parking and easily seen from street. Personal trainers are very knowledgeable and professional.
This place sucks at peak times, basically the only time you can go is the time the gym is too busy. Get motivated and hyped up for no reason because you go there and cant find parking anywhere. Very annoying, just turn back around and go home. Looking at other alternatives and join other gym facilities. Those classes that they do should be in a different location. Bottom line... its packed, and it sucks, if you actually make it inside, you cant get a workout. Might as well start walking around and chatting like many do.
I would never recommend anyone to do a membership in this gym! Itβs a nightmare!!!! I told them that I was an au pair and I would go back to Brazil in less than 2 years, my time came and I had to move back to Brazil (yesterday) and I sent to them my flight back so they could cancel it, guess what?? I got another email telling me that it wasnβt enough proof that I was moving, does that make any sense???? And then I sent to them another proof (address, my passport, my DL from Brazil) and they just donβt answer me anymore. If you want to do gym go anywhere else, BUT NEVER SIGN UP TO THE EDGE FITNESS, itβs a nightmare.
Clean updated newly renovated facility, friendly knowledgeable staff, some hoity toity gym members and the parking lot is usually packed but overall nice fitness club
Five Stars for Pedro Hernandez! His classes are great as well as his personal training. He always challenges me and pushes me to do more than I think Im capable of, while still respecting injuries and other limitations. His demeanor is motivating without being intimidating. Pedro is very knowledgable in all areas of exercise and nutrition. I highly recommend him!
DO NOT JOIN. They lie and tell you it will be easy to quit, but today I spent an hour on the phone trying to leave with no success. I had to file a complaint with my bank and file for a stop payment. These people are scum.
The Edge pressures people to work with a personal trainer, but if you have confidence in your own knowledge, its also a great place to work independently, as their facilities and equipment are numerous, well tended, and high quality.I have a gym membership on Long Island that costs twice as much per month, and it seems like a joke compared to The Edge. These facilities are excellent, and theres no restriction on how often you can visit other locations in the chain. I started with Norwalk, but liked the size and hours better in Fairfield. Its open around the clock from 5:00AM Monday until 9:00PM Friday, plus weekends.
I go to the Ffld edge every day twice a day, itβs always clean for the most part, but I donβt see the βmillion dollar renoβ. They only have two old tanning booths for the whole gym and one of them is either out of order or not functioning properly, or the kiosk is down, really? With a βmillion dollar renoβ, they couldnβt get some new tanning beds? Lame. The treadmills are decent though I suppose.
It is so great to workout. It clean and the teacher of classes r great.
Been a member for over 15 years, unfortunately the newly expanded sites does not include good customer service from the desk and training staff. while this does not include every person, the majority of the staff are hardly friendly, helpful or make me feel welcome. Most days Im rarely greeted with a hello or eye contact. Others who have attended for the same amount of years agree. the original edge always greeted you coming in and leaving, trainers always smiled and were helpful. I still love the locations, equipment, classes.
With fitness being so important in our lives, yes the gym is going to be very busy. I often try to go before work in the morning and I get use of lifting weights and using the machines. If people are going to be rude about the machines, you have to let them know they cannot behave as if they own the machine. The machines could be used in a rotation motion. All their buddies cant be hanging out using the machine as if they own it. Being on the phone waiting to do the next set is unacceptable. They need to realize other people have a schedules and need to be told by other members that they need to remove themselves between sets ; as they should anyway, thats part of using the machine to stretch in-between sets. Not everyone has great customer service skills this is true. I have yet to encounter any issues with any of the staff. if you want to avoid any infections wipe off the machines before you use it and wipe it off afterwards. I do see many housekeepers wiping machines but the members themselves dont always do that, so your gonna have to take care of your own exposure by wiping down the machines before and after. Only thing I wish they had more yoga classes but thats just depends on the availability of staff.
Cleanliness and friendly staff.
It took a lot for me to return to The Edge after the problems Iβve have had in the past. I should have walked out when I was told I couldnβt get two months free as advertised because I signed up at the end of July not the beginning. When I said I would wait for another offer, I was told I would have to wait a year because two months only came around once per year. TWO DAYS later, I see an ad for two free months come across my feed. So typical of their unethical, sneaky practices. On top of that, when I called to cancel my start up appointment, the desk guy I spoke with did not cancel the appointment and the trainer called looking for me. I so regret joining again-the year canβt pass fast enough.
Cool staff clean great work out environment
So my wife and I wanted to go work out today. We signed up at The Edge Fitness Club in Fairfield about 3 months ago. We had no problems until about 1 week ago when we kept getting stopped at the front desk after scanning my tag, asking me my number, my name, my email, my phone number. As a person who doesnt like to give out his personal information next to 10-20 people. I told the guy that they have out the picture and every other information about me on your computer. Everything was given during the sign-up process. Asking me to wait then asking me to give out personal information because my wife is a guest is uncalled for. We both work out every day, spending 2-3 minutes at the front desk while people just can and go is ridiculous. After that day they literally started picking on us every time we go in, giving us attitudes because we refuse to wait while they play around, I would just scan and work out. So the manager comes to me today while I am working out and tells me if I dont give my personal number or email at the front desk every time I come in. Even thou I pay, even though they have our picture and number, I would have to leave. They made me cancel my membership, I have about 20 days left, they will not refund me my money for whatever days I had left. Kyle Ferri needs to learn that the people and members of the gym are the ones who pay the bills. You cannot ask for peoples information out in a open public space. I will take legal action
Overcrowded. Incredibly rude staff that will persuade you and force you into membership contracts. theyll try to sell you so hard on personal training and nutrition programs. Read the other reviews. Seems pretty unanimous. NO NEED TO HAVE SUCH AN ATTITUDE AND TONE when someone wants to get more information or talk bout membership. Cancelling is near impossible once you are locked in to their membership. Then its off to ABC financial to deal with any issues post cancellation. Seems so desperate. I really hate the Edge.
It has bin ok but around 5 the afternoon it gets a little pack you guys should check that out because we are still in social distance
There is a really rude employee here. When I signed up I was explicitly told I could share my membership with my brother because we pay the higher price. This employee did not let me used the facilities today because my name was not on the account. This was not what was initially told to me. I have the same last name as the persons membership and I am the only guest he couldnt come because he is injured. This gym is always crowded too so if youre looking for your space to workout good luck.
The facility is very clean and the entire staff are friendly and helpful! I personally Enjoy participating in workout classes versus self-initiated exercises. The instructors are well educated and modify exercises, as necessary, on an individual basis. I would recommend this facility to anyone!
I joined about 6 months ago when my wife told me I needed to slim down. I lacked the motivation at first, but reached out to one of the trainers, Kristyn, who really helped me get my act together. Im there everyday now and Kristyn has done a terrific job of helping me out whenever she gets the chance.
How are these workers even working here ? The customer service is horrible & most of these workers are extremely racist. Corporate needs to be ashamed of there selfs for even letting these type of people work here & please donβt apologize. Apologize by INVESTIGATING!
Great gym. I love the people there.
This place is the worst. They are racist, they will have you sign up and then find a reason to pick on you so you can cancel and have you pay rest of the year, they want your money, but not you. They have too many people at the gym so they need to find a way to kick people out while still being able to bill them. If you read the comments they the Manager Kyle Ferri and his goons hire undocumented people to work and not pay them, and other shady stuff. I have already reached out to the President and Vice President of the Company. I will not stop until I expose the disguesting way they trap people.
Their contract and billing are the worst in the industry and their sales staff are trained to trick people into signing without full reading the contract. If you have a problem, they reference you to the billing company who then references you back to the gym and you never get anyone with an answer. Not sure? Go check out their Better Business Bureau rating. Failing. And all these responses about trying to make it right? Ive tried it twice. You will NEVER get a response. This company is little more than crooks with some dumbbells.
A lot of equipment, but the members there need to learn basic gym etiquette. I never seen so many members who think own the place and either jump on your cable machine while you were looking for a handle, make comments during your rest period because they want to use the machine you currently are working on, stand in front of the weights doing curls or dumbbell rows instead of making room for people to get the weights in front of them, not putting weights away when they are done and other rude acts.
Ok many of the staff are nice and professional. But. Not once but twice the cleaning guy lifted my shampoo bottle which i had put down. He denied it but if he didnt then clearly people are stealing in locker room. There are some trainers who in the locker room thought they should go into detail about their loose bowels, their pathetic opinions of how weird the women are, and that they should make nasty snot sounds and jump around like a ape. Multiple clients were hollering for the clown to knock it off. Should trainers use same locker room if they are planning to offend the adult clientele. Not for nothing there may be a very immature vibe going on here. Not impressed unfortunately.
The Edge tricks you into signing a contract and dont let you out of it. When I signed up I asked if I moved if I could cancel the membership and he said it would be no problem for moving out of CT. I moved to Philly and try to cancel my membership and they tell me theres an Edge in NJ 11 miles away so I cant cancel it! I consider this stealing from me. I live in the city I dont have a car and yet they still charge me because theres a gym in another state close by. Dont join this gym unless youre positive you plan to stay for 2 years since they trick you into signing a longer contract and dont let you leave. Now I have to pay hundreds for a gym I wont go to. Ive heard of similar stories, be careful when joining.
The people there always greet me as I walk in and tell me to have a good night as I leave. The workers there are helpful and classy. If youre looking for a gym where you can work out and feel comfortable The Edge of Fairfield is the place to workout
I was never one who had pleasant experiences at a gym. Back home, when the women would be working out it always felt like me were either staring at you or annoyed that you enroached on their territory (especially for anything related to weight training)... Once I moved away, I decided to try this gym and can honestly say Ive never had that experience at the edge ... I feel confident and welcomed by their staff and the other gym goers, such a better experience than what Ive encountered previously! Definitely a woman friendly gym, and the training classes gave me even more confidence that I belong :)
Great gym but unfortunately have schemed money for months after personally going in and calling them to cancel by membership. They have been charging me for the past few months and I canceled over 6 months ago. Very upsetting, great potential but me along with many others have had the same experience with scamming your money. Be weary.
I love the Edge Gym of Fairfield. Theres always friendly warm smiles when I walk in, especially Mikaela Adams! If I ever need help theres someone there to help! And its clean! Doesnt smell like a gym, but of motivation!
DO NOT JOIN! Worst experience ever at the gym. People are very rude and show no respect. You also get looked at by members. The cancelation was very stressful. I had to call the bank and cancel incoming drafts from the gym. Join another gym around your area.
Iβve been going to the edge since 2011. Iβm a big fan of the fairfield one because of its convenience (hours and geographically) and the high ceilings. One of a few minor criticisms is that your people at the front really canβt be closing the Shake station almost half an hour before you close. Thatβs part of what I pay this membership for. Honestly, super annoyed at the lady whoβs working the front right now (Saturday 6:30pm).I know a shift supervisor in Milford, Dion Ojoe; who always goes above and beyond for his members, even to the last minute.
Fairfields Edge Fitness Club is an excellent facility. It has a fine inventory of equipment, plenty of parking and extensive hours. I have been working with a superb trainer, Pedro Hernandez. He works effectively with clients at various fitness levels.
Read the fine print cancellation policy, once you sign only by moving away or a suffering a permanent disability will you be allowed to cancel.
I signed up at the fitness edge and was talked into joining a personal training program. If you want a headache go ahead and sign up here. Theres no one to call to speak to about billing because they throw you around to other people and no one has the answer. The staff has no knowledge about what theyre billing for. I suspended my personal training and no one told me they would continue to charge me for classes. They charged me on both my cards. I went in more then 30 days before to cancel my sessions in JULY and they said I would still be charged $70 in June for classes I DONT TAKE nor approved or AWARE OF. When I asked about the fee the staff didnt have an answer. The personal trainer was very nice and it was not her that I had a problem with it is there personal training manager. This gym is quick to take your money and stingy to help you with your bill. They also said school wasnt important as your body and how will you preform in the medical field if you are not healthy which I still attend the gym itself and just didnt want the once a month personal training. and criticized that I was on an externship which was the reason for suspending till July. I guess your body ego is more important then an education maybe thats why they work at a gym on minimum wage for a living.
The Edge Fitness Club has allowed me to discover a whole new, fit me! I am more motivated to go to a gym where I am constantly praised and supported for my fitness successes. The staff is always on hand when I need direction in my weight training. I am a proud member of The Edge Fitness and would recommend this gym without hesitstion.
Raised the guest rates to 15 per visit and bring a guest free on Friday now seems non-existent. Out of state guests are apparently unwelcome now. Couldnt even make a concession 1 hour before close on a Friday. Gym is always packed and very difficult to get on any machines anyway. I think its about time for me to cancel and go for a better gym.
Great greetings friendly environment
I usually go the the Fairfield site and it is awesome. Kristyn Imdorf is a wonderful trainer!A great benefit is being able to use any of the other sites if my schedule takes me away from Fairfield!
Great gym!!
Best gym and service around! Weight challenge will guarantee weight loss. One on one and group classes. Kristyn has help me lose over 37 lbs in a year and kept it off.
Better than most chain gyms based on the equipment, sanitation, and staff.
The gym itself is fine, the classes are fun, the equipment is fine and the showers are nice. However, its not worth dealing with their horrible no good lying cheating billing company. ABC financial has more rip off reports than their are free weights in the gym. Do not trust this company with your billing information. Its really too bad since the Edge is nice.
You get what you pay for.
Wow, what a fitness club! I love this facility and everything they have to offer... Especially my trainer Kristyn for helping me fit into my skinny jeans again!
When the membership passed a year, they charged me more money without notifying me. Then I decided to cancel 3 months later, after passed a month, I checked in my bank account that they charged me $ 49.99. Then I called them and they told me, this is annual FeeβThey never explained the details to me verbally about the cancellation costs or fees, when I canceled. For me it is an abuse, I am Hispanic, I do not speak well but I listen very well.
I would recommend The Edge Fitness Club to anyone who wants a five star fitness experience! Beth Anne Shelman was a pleasure to work with, very informative and motivating.... Ask for her when you stop in to sign up!
Personal Training is top notch! Kristyn was super motivating and kept me going whether I was training for a 1/2 marathon or just trying to reduce my inches and improve strength!
My wife and I have been members for a few months. When we first joined I signed up for the training sessions witch were fairly decent. My training ended in December 2015 due to me having to leave the country. I canceled my training subscription in December 2015.February 2016 My wifes credit card was charged for my training sessions that I did not attend and she also did not authorize payments for my training sessions. Isnt this illegal? Apparently when I canceled two sessions due to me being sick the trainer did not put it in the system. Then rescheduled me for the two sessions so it looked like I had extra sessions witch isnt correct. The fitness manager refused to give me a refund and the general manager have not been returning my calls or my messages. Its really disappointing when your gym does this to you. If I wasnt locked in a contract I would not have wasted time finding another gym.Update: My billing issue was resolved.
The new Edge in Fairfield is awesome! The membership prices are reasonable, and the gym is very clean. They offer tons of classes and the staff is friendly. I love it!
They donβt let you cancel youβre membership even if you move out of state
The contract explanation is terrible with Edge in general. Theyre in a rush to sign you up and take your money, but when you dont want to renew you have to call a 3rd party to cancel 30 days in advance otherwise youre responsible for upcoming payments.Edit: I called 8 months before my contract was over letting them I didnt want to renew. Nothing was mailed or emailed prior to my contract ending. Secondly I didnt cancel a contract, it was finished and I did not wish to renew. Theres a difference.
BE CAREFUL before you enter into a contract with The Edge! This is a terrible company to deal with when there is a problem. In summary, my wife had a two year contract . Her monthly payment was on auto debit. The Edge had a billing snafu and started charging my credit card. We think this occurred after she used my CC for the child care one day and somehow they retained my card and started charging it in error. This went on unnoticed for 3 months before I saw the charges. I thought this was fraud and called the CC co to dipute it. I received an immediate credit from the CC company. The Edge in turn discontinued my wifes membership . When she figured out the priblem and called to pay the past due amount they told her she needed to pay a Forgiveness fee of $49 plus the past due monthly charges. My wife explained that it was their error, not hers, but they wouldnt take any responsibility for the mistake. THIS IS SHAMEFUL! They couldnt care less about whether she stayed on as a customer.
The facility is very nice. The staff is very knowledgable about nutrition and exercise science. Ive had a positive experience and a great workout every time I have come here.
Its a great place to have your teen daughter sexually harassed, and its a great place to work if you dont mind the drug deals all around, I saw drugs being sold practically out in the open. I dont know if it was cocaine or steroids or what. I reported it to the manager which turns out was involved. So please stay away if you value your safety and money! The quality is terrible!!!!!!!!!!
