Man Ive always seemed to struggle finding a good place in Fairbanks to get a mens haircut and today my brother recommended Sukis. My haircut was perfect and just what I asked for. I also got a shave today as well and definitely recommend that. Ill definitely be a repeat customer

Ive been in Alaska for about a half year now and finding a barber is always difficult when coming to a new area. I was recommended to go to Sukis and I have been happy ever since. The price is great and the quality of service far surpasses the value. Your hair is washed, well cut and even washed again! Julie has been cutting my hair ever since I started and she does the most wonderful work. I am very happy with my haircut and very thankful to Julie for her amazing skills. I highly recommend Sukis Salon as everyone in their is highly skilled and you will not find anywhere that exceeds their quality.

Just got out, and they did a great job! I had pretty long hair and am never good at explaining styling stuff but wanted it almost short with a bit of length on top. They did great on it and communicated well and it comes with a complimentary shampoo & rinse and a hit towel which felt great. Its expensive compared to where Im from, but quality and quick service

I am in the army and I always find me a good local place to cut my hair. I chose suki’s because it’s super easy to get in line online and know when you are going to get your haircut and every person who has cut my hair there does a great job. Definitely would recommend to any active duty military.

You know when you see that place with all the first responders in it. You know they know the best places in town to go. Sukis is one of those places couldnt be more pleased.

They are great. I moved here last year and went to them because of the reviews. I always got what I wanted originally and now they know me and exactly what I want. They are all very friendly and helpful. I feel no pressure to do anything. They are very quick too and open late. Such a great place to go to and get your hair done.

I had my first haircut from cost cutters and it cost me 70 dollars

So yeah, it’s not the worst place but for 30 or dollars you gotta at least be able to do a regular medium to low fade, you know that regular boring military haircut. Overall I felt the quality of the cut was the same as you’d get from the janky on post barbershop. I know it’s Alaska so you’re paying a premium but this is a decent at best place and I wouldn’t recommend it over an on post barbershop. The only plus side is you get a shampoo lol, but that’s about it.

One of the best cuts I’ve gotten in 38 years. It doesn’t matter who you get, they are all good and pay attention to detail. You get a great cut for a good price, can’t beat that.

I love Sukis! My sons and I go there exclusively, and we all get great treatment and even better haircuts. They even give little gift bags for the kiddos!

I enjoy the efficiency of their wait-list. Wakes in and immediately sat down in a chair for my haircut thanks to their streamlined service. I was very pleased with my haircut too, one of the best medium fades I’ve had since I’ve been in the military. I will personally be going to Suki’s for my haircuts from now on.

Suki always does a great job on haircut I can almost call it a nap time as well when she starts washing my hair it relaxes me to the point where I fall asleep and start snoring :-) LOL

Service is fast the people are nice but when you ask for a midfade and she gives you a low fade and then your lines are off just classifies as a bad haircut

One side of my haircut was crooked. Longer on one side, didn’t notice until I got home.going to end up cutting and evening it out myself. Hair stylist put hair gel when I was done so I didn’t immediately notice to have it fixed. I asked for a short pixie cut.

Thank you, Sukis! This salon is awesome! My son needed a haircut badly, and we live 2 hours away from a good barber/hair salon (he only will go to females). We decided to try out Sukis because of the awesome reviews, late hours open, and convenient location. I sure wasnt disappointed! We were in and out within 15 minutes! Usually we are kept waiting an hour at other places. She was quick and efficient. After he was done, she gave him a little surprise. What really made an impression on me was that she even gave my daughter (4) a little surprise also even though she wasnt there to get a haircut. 5 out of 5 stars for speed, efficiency, convenience, hospitality, and overall experience. We will be back!

My experience with Suki’s was not pleasant at all. All of the rods were so heavy they(rods) held my head back on the chair and I COULDN’T MOVE at all, My neck/shoulders HURT, they brushed it off when I told them as if that’s part of the experience? Also there was many pieces of straight hair left. I regret giving a tip. Not worth it.

I’ve been going to Suki’s Salon for a long time now, and they never fail to satisfy with my hair cut. The staff there is super funny and friendly to talk too, and they make you feel like it’s home. Like you want to come back not just for a cut, but to talk to them for a great conversation. Original post was made 10/05/2019 to yelp. Decided that, since this has been a reoccurring issue, I should post it on Google, as well. My husband will also be posting his experiences.Overall, the haircut was not what I wanted or asked for, but it doesn’t look terrible. This morning my husband mentioned he was going to get a haircut today. And I know I needed one too. I asked him if they cut women’s hair as well, and he said yes then explained it was a salon. So my husband checked us in to make sure we had reserved our spots so we didn’t have to wait a long time, which I assumed WAS an appointment. I didn’t realize that women had to specially schedule a ladies appointment to get their hair done. So when it was my turn, they made me feel bad for it. I was under the impression that it was a beauty salon, given that’s what is advertised on their name and signs. I wish I would’ve just told them to forget about it because I definitely didn’t feel comfortable or welcome. I felt as though the haircut was rushed. When she went to wash my hair, I fell all the more uncomfortable an upset. When she shampooed around my nape, it was extremely aggressive and hurt me. There was no scalp massage like mentioned in others reviews. It was more of a passive aggressive shampoo to say the least. I’m not typically one to be rude or confrontational, and given the circumstances, I just wanted to leave. She didn’t really listen to me when I expressed I wanted just a trim. She cut well over an inch. When it came to my layers, she mentioned that we shouldn’t cut them, but expressed that she would only cut a little off. To my surprise, it was well over an inch off. My hair was a good three inches past my shoulders, now I feel as though I look like Dora the explorer. She said she would cut it just past the shoulders, which I was fine with. But the cut is well over my shoulders now. I used to work in the salon industry. And there were many things that struck me with this salon. I never left a salon where I felt so pushed around and upset. When it came to my husbands hair cut, she nicked the mole next to his ear - which is rather easy. But when it started bleeding, there was no sense of urgency to stop what she was doing. When blood is drawn, you should stop what you’re doing, make sure the client is okay, clean them up, and then clean your tools off. All of which was not done other than cleaning the blood off his face after a few minutes. I know this because I watched. That’s one bad state board review from being fined if not shut down. I don’t know how the Alaskan state board works, but I know sanitation is a HUGE deal in any to most all states. I will not be coming back to this salon. Im from a different state and needed my lashes done. The prices there is fair. I absolutely love what they did for my lashes. Great job. The ladies there are super nice and Im already bragging about it to my friends. I recommend it.

I have gone to Suki’s many times, and there service is exceptional. I have never had a problem. Suki’s is very high quality and you couldn’t find a better place is Fairbanks if not Alaska.I would recommend this place to anyone looking for a quality haircut and a very reasonable price.

To start I want to say that I like how my hair style turned out and the lady who did it did a great job. However it was not the style I wanted at all. I showed her a couple pictures of the style I wanted and I was under the impression that that is what she was going to be doing. I was incorrect. She cut my hair far shorter than I wanted, which is distressing, and styling this is a bit of a hassle. When she said bob I thought it was going to be like in the picture and when I realized it was not it was too late to change anything and I felt far to anxious to really correct her so part of it is my fault. Now I do recommend this place just be sure whoever is cutting your hair knows what you want and know that they are doing it as you request. They also took my name down incorrectly when I called in but that really isnt an issue just a little bit of miscommunication on both ends. I wanted to give a 3.5 but alas Google doesnt do that. I felt a 4 was too much and a 3 wasnt enough but it is what it is.

I’ve been coming here for many years and never had a single problem with the place, the staff is super nice and family friendly, always very welcoming and cuts the best hair in all of fairbanks. Military loves the place very much, and so do I. They have never messed up my hair, always got what I expected. They also have an online waiting list that is super effective, anyone who says anything bad about this place is clearly delusional. Best cuts in town. They also have a little toy box for kids and candy. They also play amazing kpop music!!

The employees are always friendly, talented, and communicative. I am still new to requesting a specific haircut. Slowly breaking into asking for one thatll help my barber. I saw a guy with his nice cut. I broke out&told her that I wanted his cut. My barber did a terrific job. Skin fade, ask for a skin fade. Itll look nice on you, dudes. Their music taste is good. Today I received the worst haircut of my entire life, and I have had to have my head shaved. I walked in hoping for a decent medium skin fade, but Suki decided that wasn’t what I asked for. She proceeded to give me what resembles a high and tight without the tight, then trimmed the top down to an inch to try an fix the mistake she made. So if I leave anyone reading this with something it’s if you go in there hoping to get a good haircut, choose anyone but the owner.

Not only does sukis give, in my opinion the best haircuts in Fairbanks the shop itself has always had an extremely kind and welcoming environment. They take the time to remember customers names as well as past conversations making the customer feel as if they are getting their hair cut from a friend as opposed to just a random barber, all of this combined with continuously great/affordable hair cuts has kept me coming back for years.

For the fools who still use the on-post barber shops: Sukis has amazing hair cuts, awesome and friendly barbers, the best hair cuts I have got came from this place. Using the Waiting list off of their Facebook, is awesome, you can get in line from your couch. Truly an example that other barbershops should try to emulate!

Been going for over a year now, best haircuts in town. Staff are friendly, Sunny (the stylist on the far right) always remembers me and my cut, always askes how my wife is. My wife nor I have ever been treated poorly. I strongly recommend it. I get a shampoo, hot towel with my cut. Cash and card can be used. Easy to find, right off the main road, clean / welcoming environment.

Very unfortunate how this all went down, but because this salon cannot be professional, this is where we are.First off, I can’t complain about the haircuts, which explains why I kept going back, even after the initial incident. So just if you were wondering about the quality, it’s not bad, but it’s not the best. I have been coming here for a couple months and up until about a month ago, I have had no issues.Anyways, here’s the deal.If you scroll down the reviews you will see a review from a woman named Emily (Hans B) who had a bad experience at this salon. (I suggest you read it first, I don’t feel like re-writing what happened)I am the husband, and the entire story is true and went down exactly how she described it. However, I did not have an issue with the blood (it’s a blood blister which I have had my whole life, it gets nicked all the time and I’ve gotten used to it) BUT, the lack of urgency that it took Suki to clean it up was a bit on the slow side (she also didn’t clean her tools and continued with the service whilst blood was running down my face) AND it is also a fact that it is a blood and sanitation violation that can get your salon shut down or the person stripped of their license a/o fined.So my wife wrote the review, and apparently it made some waves.I went back two weeks later. And the hair stylist that cut my wife’s hair came and sat next to me. She started talking to me about how my wife’s post made the shop look bad and to ask if I could tell her to take it down. I said I would talk to her but there was no guarantees because I’m not a controlling husband and I feel that everyone is entitled to their own opinion. I also was frustrated because they never once contacted her, just me, about her complaint (shady). So after the chat she cut my hair, I had no complaints, so I paid and left.Two weeks go by and I go in again for my bi-weekly hair cut. This time, I am seen by a different woman, my hair gets cut and I start towards the register to pay. I am met there by the stylist who again starts talking about my wife’s review and how she pressured her colleague to cut my wife’s hair even with her booked schedule and to see if I could again talk to my wife about takingdown the review. She then told me my hair cut was free of charge to make up for my wife’s hair cut. Total bribery, but they wouldn’t take my money even when I insisted to pay for it.The next part I saw coming but I decided to give them the benefit of the doubt. Thinking that people would just grow up, fix an obvious problem, and move on.My wife never took down the review, so today when I went in I was told that they didn’t feel comfortable cutting my hair while the yelp review was still up. But not until I had been sitting in the shop for 10 minutes while my wife (who dropped me off) was at Costco.In all honesty, it’s a business’s right to deny service to anyone, I understand this. But the way you do it really shows who you are as a shop. I’ve never had this experience before, and I never thought I would. But it goes to show that just because you’re one of the better places in town to get a haircut, that people don’t have to just deal with clear health violations.I’m not going to tell you not to go here, this was just my experience. Just know that when this shop makes a mistake, it’s your fault, not theirs.

Ive been through about every hair salon and barber shop in fairbanks. Sukis was recommended to me about a year and a half ago and Ive been going ever since. Theyre friendly and professional, and since theyve added the waitlist system its become too easy to get a fresh haircut. No waiting, entirely at your discretion, and a warm towel at the end. I highly recommend Sukis to everyone.

Lisa is an outstandong hair stylist and has been cutting my hair for 2 years. Every time I walk in, the entire staff welcomes me and know me by name. Lisa knows exactly how to cut my hair without me having to say a word. I am very impressed on Lisas ability to get along with all her clients including stubborn or rude ones even when work is busy and stressful. She always stays calm and gets the job done. Today I went to get a haircut at this place because of good reviews on Google. Let me just say this HORRIBLE HAIRCUT I even show her the pic. You getting paid decent money to do your job so why not do it correctly. Im very disappointed. Whatever my hair will grow back but I know now not to go there again. $25 haircut. She did put gel in my hair to hide her mistake. I feel bad to give a business bad review but my haircut was so bad I had to write one.

Be sure to check in in their Facebook before going in, if not you might be waiting for two hours for a hair cut. The hair cut is hit or miss depending on who you get to cut it. They can do a nice medium fade but will butcher a comb over. They dont do skin with a razor just clippers.

I expected to come out with a good haircut from this place because I heard so many food things but when i got home I noticed my hair was not cut how I asked for and I had longer hairs and shorter on one side ...my hair was blown dried and I expected her to use a brush while she did that but instead used her fingers... Not good. The stylist that did my hair does not know how to cut layers. I also came home and had to even it up at the bottom. I have long hair, and she was going to dry cut it but I insisted on a wet cut. I have a stylist that I love in my home state, so was rather upset that Suki stylist botched my layers. The cut was also too fast, and she just didnt seem to have the expertise that Im used to. I did leave a tip, but had no intention on going back. Also, it was winter outside, and she did not dry my hair. She partially dried it, but it was still very wet when I left. Lucky I didnt get sick.The other thing, she tried to use a brush to comb through my wet hair after washing it. You just dont do that. It was a regular brush, and I had to ask her to use a pic to comb through my long, wet hair. She probably would have ripped much of my hair out with the brush if I had allowed her to proceed with doing that. I wont be going back. Cut just was not good.
