I have been to Mayas hair studio multiple times for different services. My first experience there was for an up-do for my wedding. The hairstyle Maya did for me was beautiful and lasted all night. I got so many compliments about my hair.Second time I went to the salon was for balayage to fade my brown hair into blonde and it was also very beautiful. I had previously had my hair highlighted at another salon and the color was very yellow, but Maya was able to correct the color and make it look absolutely stunning.Recently I went back to the salon for a haircut, color, and keratin treatment. Maya gave me the most beautiful haircut and John colored my hair and gave me the keratin hair treatment. I came into the salon with very long, dry, frizzy hair that would tangle into huge knots so easily. When I left, I had shoulder length soft silky smooth hair. I can finally run my fingers through my hair! My hair is natural curly and very frizzy, but today after washing the keratin out (2 days after the treatment) my hair dried completely straight and smooth!!! I cannot believe how great the result is!I would highly recommend this salon and would encourage more people who struggle with frizzy and damaged hair to get the keratin treatment from John. My hair feels SO healthy and strong after the treatment. It was pricey, but it is worth it. I had keratin done cheaper at another salon before, but the result was not even close to how well this one was done.

This place has its pros and cons. I’m rating it as objectively possible.Starting with the pros, Maya is an incredible hair stylist. I got a layered haircut and a blow dry. Not only did she do the job quickly, but did an amazing job at it. The products that they use must have some sort of magic. My hair felt extremely smooth after washing and drying.However, beware with using a Groupon. A blow dry is not included automatically when purchasing the “haircut and treatment” option unless otherwise stated. They will charge you $35 for the blow dry and not let you know before hand or ask initially which Groupon option you bought. The main problem is that it is not stated on Groupon that a blow dry is NOT included . It’s a bit ridiculous that one will go to a salon just for haircut and leave with wet hair.The guy that works there is nice, but I agree with another review. He will try to persuade you into getting treatments or purchasing their products. Even if I said no to the Keratin treatment he was offering, he kept insisting which takes away from the relaxing experience you’d get at a salon.Although Maya is incredibly experienced, I do not encourage places that trick customers into spending more money. But based on their good performance, I would go again.

Hi! This is my first review ever! I love this place I am super picky with how my hair is done, but Maya listened to exactly what I wanted starting from the exact amount of hair to cut to blow drying and flat ironing my hair pin straight (like I wanted)! It’s been 3 days and my hair is still as straight as it was when I left the salon! (This never happens since I have super thick hair) I recommended the place to my aunt and she LOVED it as well! Only trust Maya to cut and style my hair the way I want! (It also helps that everything is done SUPER efficiently and perfectly)

I love going to Maya s because it is so pleasant there. Maya is an excellent hair dresser and I love how I look after she does my hair. All personnel are very professional and I am able to go there and relax. Definitely worth going to Maya s for a lovely visit. This is my place to go.

Maya did my color and highlights, she is professional, fast and knowledgeable. She knows exactly what is she doing, I was super happy with my hair.Sonia did my facial, eyebrows and cupping. IT WAS AMAZING! My face is glowing and I feel so relaxed.

Excellent service. The owner, Maya, is super kind and she’s great at what she does. First time I came here was on a whim and I was shocked at how quickly and efficiently she worked. I got many compliments on my haircut. The results from here are great, especially for the price! Other places will charge you double for the same job she can do here, and they don’t even work as well or as quick. And one of the best parts is that she accepts walk-ins which is hard for me to find in other salons.

Nice lady and very professional. My nails were beautiful and didnt peel at all like it happened in other nail salons.

So, the lady that did my nails is really nice. But the place not so much. It was pretty disorganized and that matters to me a lot. Also, my gel mani looks really nice but its less than a week and its starting to peel off some areas.

Be prepared that when you go to this salon, a male worker there will persuade you with all his might to avail of their expensive services. He will not take NO for an answer. It happened to me. The worst part is, I looked better before stepping in to this salon. This salon is now history to me. Never again...

I bought a groupon the first time that I went there and I really like it. I came a second time because Osiris did a great job. The gel manicure last long. I will come here to keep doing my nails with Osiris.

I had a gel manicure and regular pedicure done today; my thumb is already chipped! Gel manicure and it chips same day?? plus I had to pay $5 extra because I wanted more than 1 color! I leave for a flight at 6pm tonight, so I have no time to go back and ask for my nails to get fixed. She was a nice lady, but very disappointed.

I was just here, I saw a bad review and wanted to give it a try regardless. When they told me that it cost $10 to remove my current gel nails, I just left. There was nasty hair all over the floor and it looked super sketchy. Plus they only had one nail tech who was on her phone while doing someone’s nails. Yeah it might be cheap cause of the groupon deal, but I would save your money if I were you.

Maya is the only person that can actually cut my hair well. For years I struggled finding someone who can style and cut my hair the way I wanted it. I recommend getting your hair done whether you are a woman or a man at Mayas Hair Studio in Fair Lawn. Also John is a great addition to the team at Mayas Hair Salon.

I was looking to change my hair salon due to high price and the selling service and products. I was browsing thru the salons in Fair Lawn and saw Maya’s hair salon in River Road and I alway see them when I go to shoprite and decided to give them a call. I asked for Maya and got and appoint with her for highlites and color. Her honestly caught me. She said we have prices but I want to see how thick your hair is and the length. Don’t want to over charge you. Her price was a lot less than I pay. I went. Maya did a great job with my highlites and the cut and she even blow it out to see how the highlites look but didn’t charge me extra.That is what you call service. The other salon was awesome but very high level with a $$$ for it. Nothing is bundle package. If someone touch your hair there is a price/tip and their products are way above my pocket which I guess if you have it then I do t know even then if it’s worth it. I have been using it for a long time and no magic in my hair so no for me. Their service is excellent. Maya’s service also exceeded my expectations and I am happy with her and her staff is very friendly also. I gave her 5 stars cause that’s what her salon deserves
