First went here 3-4 years ago, and had a great experience. Moved away from the area but was never able to find anyone as good as the guys that work here, so happily commute up to Everett once a month for a fresh cut. Everyone that works here is extremely talented, so whoever you go with will hook you up. My personal recommendation is Nick, hes been my go-to barber for a while now and never disappoints. Always does a phenomenal job, manages to work me in to his busy schedule, and is an all around great person. Shop always looks clean, everyone there makes you welcome, and the vibe is very relaxed yet professional.

Met with Aaron Davis. He gave me a great haircut at a really decent price. Well worth the money and a really skilled barber. 10/10 and highly recommended.

It was really simple to make an appointment through Google. I was greeted warmly by the whole shop as I entered, and my stylist seated me immediately. He was very conversational yet professional, and he gave me one of the sharpest hair/beard cuts Ive ever gotten. The shop is immediately adjacent to the delightful coffee nook Nadines, which shares a wall which can be opened to combine the spaces.

I have been there twice now and I havent been able to find a better fade anywhere else. Price was $35 for a 30 minute session and couldnt have picked a better place to get my haircut after the pandemic. Brian, thank you again!

Just got my first haircut at this barbershop. Tommy cut my hair and booyyyyy was that a clean cut! Fade was on point and his attention to detail was way above what Ive experienced in the past at other shops in Seattle. This dude knows whats hes doing. I showed him the haircut I was looking for and he did the haircut to a T. Exactly what I was looking for. Props to Tommy and props to the shop.

I was in the area and needed, I mean, badly needed a haircut. This was overdue so it was hard for any barber to imagine what my hair was supposed to look like. As I described what I wanted I watched the body language of the barber. He was confident but I was not and he could tell. He says Hold on a few seconds and he grabs a magazine and flips to a picture and asks if that was what I was looking for and.... it was exactly what I was looking for.He did the exact cut I wanted. When he was finished he encouraged me to look in the many mirrors and to be sure the back was what I wanted. It was. I LOVE this place.

I booked an appointment for 12pm with Aaron. They have a big Covid precaution description on their website about how I have to wear a mask while I am there. I liked that and it’s a big reason I chose this place. When I show up Aaron, the person whose hair he was cutting, and some other person sitting next to them, were all not wearing masks. Every other person in the building was. I told them to cancel my appointment because of this and I left. This was very frustrating.

Nick Watts doesnt disappoint. His cut skills are masterful. He practices all mandated state requirements for safely keeping his customers safe during this virus. Top notch. 100% class act.

I’ve been going to John Laurenz Fine Cuts for about 6 months now. Wanted to wait to write a review until after a handful of trips in order to best evaluate consistency and quality (plus I seldom find the time to write reviews). JLFC is worth taking the time to review! My go-to guy is Eric, as he was recommended to me by an acquaintance. I’ve got mixed hair (mom’s European, dad’s black and native—so that left me with a very diverse head of hair) and Eric was able to work up a cut and style that I love and makes me actually appreciate a quality hair cut.Before coming here, I’d always just go wherever and have my hair cut short. No style, nothing special. But after working with Eric that first time I found value in a great cut, and now feel like my haircut is an extension and reflection of my personality.The shop as a whole is a great spot. The atmosphere is welcoming and inclusive. Women don’t tend to go to barbershops, but it’s what works for my hair type. Never once did I feel odd or uneasy. I’m excited for the coffee shop being built on the other side of the shop (sharing a roll-away wall with John Laurenz), so I can spend even more time soaking up the good vibes.

Really welcoming environment, the people there are really nice and very knowledgeable with hair. I went in to get a cut from Brendan and he did such a fantastic job, I’m coming back to him because he understood what I was looking for and made it happen, he’s a very talented hairdresser and if you want some clean lines I’d highly recommend him.

My 7 year old granddaughters and my 18 year old son LOVED their experiences here. Tommy Westling did an amazing job explaining to each child what he was doing, as he was doing it, making them feel comfortable and at ease. Made an appointment with Brendan and will definitely be back. Place is clean, friendly, very welcoming for all ages as I was part of the 5-60+ age range of about 8-10 people consistently. Staff are diverse and cater to all cuts and preferences. Upon walking in, people were greeted and asked if they had an appointment or were a walk in, people walking in were willing to wait which seemed to be a good sign. Could tell who was a regular on how they greeted their barbers. Very friendly and would definitely recommend!

My family owned a salon growing up so I grew up in a salon. I can honestly say that Aaron at John Laurenz gave me the best haircut I have ever had (please don’t tell mom). I needed and hair and beard cut. My son has always sang Aaron’s praises so I took his recommendation. He was absolutely right. I just found my new barber. I wont go anywhere else again. The atmosphere is perfect and the price is right. The barbers are friendly and seem like great guys, which adds the overall experience. I can not recommend this place and Aaron enough.

Went in for a simple beard trim/clean up and Brendan made sure everything was perfect before letting me go. Walked in to an amazing, clean, and upbeat environment. The guys here are real cool. Always get a great cut and a good banter between barbers. Nick usually cuts my hair and I feel clean and more confident after. Ive been to a few male specific shops in my day and it usually takes a few days for my Alfalfa hair in the back to calm down before I can style it how I want. But here I can walk out knowing its done well and can style it soon after.

I had scheduled an appointment time at 3:25 PM. However, I was waiting outside for about an hour waiting for a call or text from the barber to signal that I can come inside. That never came, and multiple patrons were serviced besides me.

I have been on a search to find a barbershop that could cut my hair how I like it. I have tried many of them in the area and while not bad, this place is easily THE BEST. Awesome atmosphere, and man, can they do a wicked fade. All of the barbers here are excellent in my opinion, but Nick Watts is the man to see. People comment more on my hair than I thought possible, and everytime, I send them Nicks way. If you want to try a new style, or keep the tried and true, head to John Laurenz.

I have never taken my kids to a barbershop that did this bad of a job on my son’s hair! You would think they would’ve done at least a decent cut for $17 something. Definitely would not recommend this place. Save your money and time and go someplace else.

Needed a beard trim and gave this place a shot. Called to make an appointment and the person who answered said they were having some problems with their appointment system but said based on what I was asking for I should schedule online with Brendan for a 30 minute appointment. I can say I am very happy I did. Online appointment was easy to schedule and Brendan did an amazing job. He listened to what I wanted and spent over an hour getting me cleaned up. When we went to check out I told him I know we went way over the half hour I booked and I didnt mind paying for the additional time and said not to worry about it and only charged me for my 30 minute appointment. I will definitely be back in a few weeks when it is time for another cut. These guys are amazing.

After walking by this shop on Colby for quite some time, decided to give it a try. I had a great experience and cut from the owner, Erik. Erik was very attentive to what I wanted and had great suggestions on style changes when I asked for his input. The shop has a nice modern look and atmosphere. Ive been going to a much more expensive Mens specialty barber in Kirkland, but I now have a great local place thats a better choice for me.

You go here and youll be leaving feeling like a MACDADDY! These guys know what theyre doing and really take the time to make you happy. This is the place to go, if you wanna look fresh.

I called John Laurenz and got in immediately with Brendan Spears and he did an amazing job on my beard! Id let my beard get way too big and out of control; Brendan took the time to trim it and shape it and make it look its best.If youre looking for a good beard trim, do yourself a favour and go see Brendan. Went here about a month ago and proceeded to receive one of the best haircuts Ive ever had. The staff and owner were friendly, and the layout is kind of cool too. You can tell they really know their customers and treat them as real people, not just clients.I actually made a mistake on their app and scheduled my haircut for a week in advance, not realizing it. Went in there and they saw I was not on the schedule but told me to stick around and were able to fit me in. Just an example of the great customer service they offer.I like the cues theyve taken from the 40/40 club too (ESPN on the screen). Major plus when you can discuss some sports with your barber! Definitely will be back.

I’m sadden to write such a low review. To a place I’ve taken my son to in the past and had a good experience. I take some fault in not taking time to specifically find a barber that would take the care needed and wanted in my sons haircut. I booked an appointment with Brandon Calhoun for a 40 minute cut. I did this to ensure quility since this would be his first haircut in over 1 1/2 years, he grew his hair long. We went in with picture with realistic expectations since my son has the hair type & fullness to do the style requested. The first thing the barber did was part my sons hair on the opposite side his part was on. The first cut the barber made with the clippers was right in the front/side of his hair and CHOPPED his whole bangs front area off, leaving it completely impossible to accomplish the style we had wanted. I spoke up right away and was met with attitude. He said he was doing what was in the picture. Not true. His hair looks nothing like what was requested and after a 40 min haircuts there is LONG hairs along the ear line and the fade is subpar. He has razor burns along his neck line as well. Sad. I might go back and really look into who is a good barber but I definitely won’t be booking with Brandon Calhoun again. Sorry but you completely missed the mark.

Friendly barbers! Great people! My husband used to go here, then they got more fame and customers and started raising their prices and not taking their time anymore... so he stopped going...and now goes to this place that only charges 15, takes their time, and does an amazing job.

They probably give decent hair cut (Really really expensive ones). All of the people who were working were young men with attitudes. Im not young or particularly stylish, so I was ignores for over an hour while everyone else was served. I felt as though I was descriminated against as an older guy. If you arent 25 or less and want the lyrics of a rap song cut into the side of your head you might think twice.
