But I was so surprised to see the outcome, it was more than what I could image. I am so super happy, Collin you did an awesome job thank you so much. I highly recommend this Salon!

I wish I could could remember the womans name, she left my mom sitting alone while she went outside multiple times, never told my mom what she was doing to her hair until my mom asked, it wasnt even close to what she asked for. Stylist just bleached tf out of my moms hair and put what she claimed to be toner over it.Never did a strand test or asked my mom the history of her hair. It turned a orangey red and my mom left in tears.To top it all off, when they texted my mom asking how she liked her hair and my mom replied with what happened, they completely ignored her.

Lindsay was great! I had a really bad hair color job done twice (once was the original once was the fix at another salon). Lindsay worked her magic and fixed my hair. She had her color specialist help devise a plan and the results were amazing! Hands down I will be back. I am even an hour away and so worth the drive!

After moving to the area I had trouble finding a good fit for me with a new stylist. Lindsay is absolutely wonderful! She is very experienced, listens to what you want, and always leaves me feeling beautiful!! I have hair that can be worn straight or wavy and she always cuts it so that I can wear it both ways!! She is amazing!

If you have or want blonde hair ask for Makayla she helped me get to all over blonde from a old balayage I had that was about 9 months old and I told her what I wanted and she had to do three processes and it wasn’t cheap but you get what you pay for, but wow I was blown away. It’s a beautiful color Worth every penny! I always get compliments. Thanks again will be a loyal customer for as long as I live in Newburgh! Salon offers coffee which I really appreciate for morning appointments haha best wash and dry I’ve had too they use heated towel after washing and let it sit. Amazing. Especially when you get bleached it can cause irritation on the scalp.

I had an appointment at 1:30, I came in a little early to show the stylist what I was wanting because this was my first time here. I was wanting to start the process of going silver. I am a single mother of one child, with absolutely no one who could have watched my son today, and the front desk lady said I couldn’t have him there. She was extremely unprofessional and I will never be back. Excuse my language but f*** her and this salon

I booked an appointment for a full head color and trim with their stylist Sydney. I didnt mind that her previous appointment ran over and I sat in my car waiting for 20 minutes without a warning. Going in my hair was a dark natural brown, but I wanted to go a bit lighter to a light ash brown color. I showed her a picture of what I wanted so their was zero room for confusion. After 3.5 hours of complete and awkward silence in the chair my hair was revealed to be platinum blonde, very far from what I had asked for. The most devastating part was that my roots were still very much my natural brown color and my hair had been fried so much that it looked like it was chopped off with dull scissors...blindfolded (very uneven 2-4 inches all around). I was visibly upset with the outcome and in total awe of how awful it looked. The next couple of days I attempted to get a hold of the owner, she finally agreed to refund me the full amount I had paid and we agreed that Id come back at a later date for her to fix it. I made an appointment and they cancelled within a few hours of the time I was scheduled. The owner informed me she was completely booked up for the rest of the month during normal work hours, choosing not to go out of her way to fix the mistake and consistently giving me excuses. To say that Im disgusted is an understatement, this has been the worst customer service I have ever received and I would STRONGLY discourage anybody from booking an appointment at this establishment.EDIT: First off many of your facts are incorrect and I find it very unprofessional that you continue to place the blame on me when I answered all of the questions your stylist asked beforehand. I advised I work until 4:30 and dont have any vacation time. I could come in any day after 4:30 or anytime on the weekends. Your response only solidifies why I would advise everyone to avoid going to your establishment.

Had to schedule appointment, and text when we got there. Hairdresser (Chloe) got me in within seconds, and out in a timely manner. She also carried in a good conversation which is one thing I like to say makes a good business person. The cost of the haircut was fair as well. Will be coming back, and bringing a new client (daughter) soon.

I have been going to the Blue Duck for some time now, and as the pandemic hit, I was concerned about hitting the salon again. But they have been following all the safety recommendations, wearing and requiring masks, taking temperatures, hand sanitizer readily available, and keeping occupancy low. Not only do they do good work, theyre serious about keeping their employees and customers safe.

I wanted to get my hair cut shorter but it ended up getting cut way to short. I think she realized she cut way to much off after, but it was to late. Never showed me the back before I left and was kinda rushed out so she could get to her next appointment. Wont be back.

Regina was awesome at cutting my hair. She was super talkative and I felt really comfortable with her. I would love to go back to her for my next haircut.

Where to start. I had an initial appointment with Kat today. The receptionist called me an hour before my appointment to tell me that the stylist was running about 10 minutes behind. I really appreciated that. It shows they respect my time, and it shows that Kat spends the time that her clients need (instead of rushing them out the door). Kat spent time at the beginning to really figure out what I wanted, even when I wasnt sure how to put it into words. She spent almost 4 hours on my hair, and she treated me like a lifelong friend the entire time. She answered all my questions with a smile and made me feel comfortable. I had told her at the beginning of the appointment that I was a little nervous, but that feeling quickly went away. She also spent time explaining everything she was doing and the products she was using. Kat knows her stuff. And she absolutely knocked it out the park. My hair has never looked so good. I actually came here in hopes of finding a cheaper place than the salon I went to last time, but Blue Duck ended up being slightly more expensive and worth every penny. Kat gave me a quote at the beginning and even explained what might cause the price to increase, so there were no surprises at the end. Ill definitely be coming back to Kat in the future for any of my hair (and eyebrow) needs.

Got a perm and it didnt take so I went back a week later and stated the perm did not take and they were going to charge me $55.00 to do it again. It should have been done for nothing.Needless to say I said thank you and walked out.I already paid good money to get it done the first time.

She went above and beyond and got me in within 45 minutes. She did a fabulous job as always. Took her time and listened to what I was wanting done and made it happen. Good prices. Kat has cut my hair twice and both times I have been very pleased with the results! The second time she gave me this really cute short hairstyle. I have really thick hair, so a shorter haircut could end up too full, but she cut it in a way where it looks great and is easy to maintain! She is super friendly and professional. She knows what shes doing and is very efficient. I will definitely come to her for more haircuts, hairstyles for special events, and hair coloring!

I went today to get my hair done and it was a long process which I knew it would be but after 5 and a half hours I absolutely hate my hair. It’s blonde in some parts and brassy looking. It doesn’t even look like what I wanted. I left thinking maybe it didn’t look right bc it was frizzy from being blowed dried but I was wrong. The way it was cut also looks a little awkward. Not to mention I spent over $200. The lady was very nice but I didn’t get what I thought I was paying for. I will not be returning. And i don’t know what I’m going to do about my hair now.

Amazing haircut today by Lindsay! She blended my thick hair in an inverted bob beautifully and gave good advice on how to recover from some problems with my last haircut (from a different place). New to town, Ive been looking for a stylist who is willing to say, Come back if you have any trouble with it! That builds my trust!

Not recommended for coloring, and any haircut that needs to be well blended.... maybe they would do good with straight cuts. Definitely not so good with layers. Would not recommend anyone here. But! They do walks ins, so I guess if you need a fast haircut, you can go here since it’s only $25. I usually pay $65 with my hairdresser of 20 years, but I guess if I think of it like that.... I got my money’s worth. Lololol.

I took my daughter to get her haircut and was very happy with her new style. Kat did an amazing job with my six year old moving around the entire time and not sitting still! The haircut looks great!!

Had a wonderful first experience getting my hair cut and colored yesterday by Kat. She was so sweet and friendly and she really knew what she was doing. If you want a balayage I highly recommend her. She took the time to ask me questions about my experiences at other salons and what I didnt like about them. She made sure I was comfortable for the 3 hours I was there and made sure my hair turned out the way I wanted it to.The salon is very clean and the person working the front desk was very nice and inviting as well. Her and Kat both made sure I got my discount on the products I was buying. Overall I am very pleased with my experience and so happy to have found a new salon to go to.

Regina has been doing my hair for many years and is now a stylist with Blue Duck Hair Salon. She cares a lot about her clients and does a great job with cut and color. They use high end eco friendly products but cost is still reasonable. I highly recommend Regina as a professional stylist!

Great service. I had so many things done to my hair. My hair is dark brown so I wanted it colored again into darker brown, and I also wanted red and blue highlights which I thought would damage my hair because it needed to be bleached first. My hair had no damage and looked beautiful. Lindsey did such a great job and honestly I went in expecting to pay over $200 oh and I also got a trim. And.... it only cost me $127! Will definitely go back and recommend people.

I love the blue duck! Their service is top- notch they are more than willing to bend over backwards to make you happy with your hair. They are awesome with children also, I have never been so happy with a hair saloon before. It feels more like a family and friends instead of a treating you like money walking in the door. The atmosphere is wonderful and the salon is very comfortable. My hair is cut by Lindsay Johnson the owner. Every haircut is great! She keeps me up-to-date with the latest cuts and colors. She’s very knowledgeable about the hair products and is continually trying to look for more eco-friendly products. Lindsay has a great knack for thinking outside the box she recently brought in a new men’s line. It’s a great salon everyone should check it out!!!

This salon is always a relaxing atmosphere, and my stylist Jenny is wonderful. I have gone to her for years, and am never disappointed. From cuts, colors, waxing, to extensions-I have had my tape in extensions put in on multiple occasions by Jenny, and they are always fabulous & last months! Highly recommend her!

My stylist Makayla(Sp?) was friendly and did a great job. I will be going back to her. The shop does have a display where they are trying to sell some of the MLM essential oils. Have to be a little concerned about any business that allows people to sell/advertise products from a company whose business model is in the shape of a pyramid. Shop was pretty cramped and did not have enough seating for all of the waiting customers plus their family. They were also a bit pricey for a 10 minute mens cut($22 before tip).All in all I was very pleased with the stylist but a little disappointed in the shop. For the amount they are charging I would expect the shop to be less cramped with adequate and comfortable seating. Also.......lose the scammy essential oil distribution.

I had such a wonderful experience with Kathryn today! She touched up my roots, added some highlights, cut and styled and gave me an eyebrow wax. She is really professional and I can highly recommend it. I have pretty curly hair and she tamed my mane :-). Great gal!

Shout out to Jenny B! Im visiting from out of town and was desperate to get my hair colored. Based off Jennys great reviews, I decided to book with her. Boy, am I glad I did! Jenny gave me exactly what I was looking for. She listened, followed through and checked in with me halfway through blowing my hair dry to make sure it was right. I decided to get a few additional foils added and Jenny never onced made me feel like she was put out. The moral of the story is: Jenny cares about giving you what you want. Very talented, sweet and funny. Highly recommend! This lady knows whats shes doing.

Really loved my first experience! The atmosphere is very nice - clean and not too loud. Im always extremely nervous when a new person cuts my (curly) hair, but Kathryn did an excellent job! I asked for shape and volume and she gave me exactly that. I deeply appreciated that the products she used are curly girl friendly (no sulfates, no silicones), which I didnt even have to request! Would definitely recommend to anyone, especially curlies, and will be returning. Extra special, extremely exciting bonus: you can schedule appointments online without having to actually interact with people (if you choose) - yay for introverts!

BEWARE!!! They are WAY overpriced and not informative of their services. I called and asked how much a service was going to be and was told anywhere between $85.00-$125.00 but she stated I have never seen a balayage service over $125.00. So after 5 hours in the stylists chair my hair is NOTHING like the picture that I showed her! So she then puts More color on my hair, at this point I am not aware that I am paying for this extra color and her time. After 6 hours I walk up to pay and was told that it was $250.00 !!!! WHAT!!?! These people have no idea how to provide customer service! If you quote a price via phone then that should be your price! I was willing to pay a little more but then the stylist went on to explain you have been her since 11 and at this point we have to charge per hour, I have never in my life been to a salon that believes that the customer should pay for the stylists mistake of NOT getting it right the first time! Horrible experience with talking with the owner via phone, she is an absolute moron! She just wanted to make sure I knew how long she has been in business, what a complete joke of a salon.

My daughter paid 260.00 for hair extensions and they were horrible. The girl that did it evidently didn’t know anything if I could put pictures on here I would you could see the taped in extension and it wasn’t just a few it was all over so my daughter had to be somewhere on Sunday and they are closed Sunday and Monday so we removed them so she wouldn’t be embarrassed called on Tuesday the girl I believe her name was jenn she is very rude and doesn’t make good on her work but I can see why if she did she wouldn’t be in business. But we may be out 260.00 but we know where not to go again. If anyone knows how to post pics let me know I’ll be more than glad to do it.

Owner is rude.CHILDREN NOT WELCOME HERE.Stylists dont stay very long. I went 3 times in about 4 months and had 3 different stylists.

Wish I could give no stars. I came in once with a gift card and got highlights and a cut from Hannah. I continued to come in and get trims regularly after that. When I decided to color my hair again I came back to her. I explained I wanted a darker brown with some red, but also that I was getting married within the next year, and would want to go light again. Hannah said this would not be a problem. After my hair was shampooed and dried, which while I was processing I was put in a very uncomfortable chair, we both agreed that it was not what we had thought it would be. She then told me that they had a new color line and they were still in the guinea pig process. Wouldve been nice to know considering the upcoming wedding I had told her about in the beginning. She offered to have me squeezed in the next morning. I came back and she attempted to blend the colors together better having me pay for the color itself only. I left with BLACK hair at my scalp and a straight line of ridiculous red staring around the top of my ears. Nothing like the pictures I showed her or what we discussed. She recommended I let it fade and see how I like it, as if we did anything else now my hair would be damaged. Within a week of showering in freezing cold water, the red still had totally washed out. I emailed her the next week on the Instagram with the account listed on her business card listing from my concerns and did not hear a thing. This was near Christmas. So I waited 2 weeks and called. She said she would try to fix it but I would have to pay full price because it had been over a month. I explained I contacted her and was told ahe did not receive it. After this, for 2 weeks, I called in everyday asking for the manager, I was told her name is Lindsey. She was either too busy doing hair or not in the salon every single time. I finally went to another area salon and got my hair fixed. If you are looking to treat yourself, as I was, and have a little new color.. dont come here. Dont waste your time and money. And do not trust them to be upfront with you. Do not trust this place!

I hate leaving bad reviews because it feels bad to do but I feel like I have to share my experience. I made a consultation a few weeks in advance to talk about dying my hair a deep dark emerald green, I was brown at the time. I mentioned that I wanted a very very dark color there and showed pictures of dark green hair as reference. I wad quoted the whole process as being at most a like 400 dollars. When my appointment came up I went and got my hair cut (which was fine and perfect and mostly why there is 2 stars on this review) and sat for bleach and color. My hair was bleached to very blonde which worried me at first as I asked for a darker color that wouldnt necessarily need as light as a base but I trusted my stylist. Halfway through this process, where I have my hair bright blonde and my roots not touched I am told that Im already at 370 and that its looking to be more likely around 600 and if that was okay. This felt really shitty because what was I to say if it wasnt? I was quoted for a price but then it changed and we were at a moment where its not like I could have left my hair like that. If the price were going to change I should have been quoted a new price after the cut I was given and not after bleach was applied. There is no good g back after half your hair is bleached an ugly color. I told her it was fine after I had to text my mom to get more money in my bank account to pay for this change.Then she brought out swatches of color to choose from and I chose the darkest looking green. After rinse and blow-dry she turns me around and my hair is this minty light green color - nothing at all what I had asked for. Now dont get me wrong the hair color is gorgeous (and would look amazing on someone else) but it looks like a silvery blonde green when I asked for a dark dark emerald green. I think its mostly the fault of being bleached too light as the color I was shown was very dark and if it went over a more caramely brown than a blonde blonde I think it would have turned out perfectly.That all being said I just paid for my hair and left. I have extreme social anxiety and there was no way I was going to stay and cry and panic in front of someone who just worked hours on my hair and a whole salon full of people who loved how it turned out. I just said that it was way lighter than I expected but that it was fine. And it is fine, fine enough for me to dye later tomorrow a darker green at home and accept its look until all my hair grows back brown and I can try getting the color I originally wanted.I will say this is somewhat my fault as I should have never gone to the salon by myself and should have had someone who would have spoken up for me and voiced my concerns. I should have known better.

Lovely as always, Kat left me feeling and looking like a million bucks.
