I especially would like to thank Dr. Brian and all the staff for the caring way they treated (and are still treating) my poor little Petey. He was crying with a belly ache (gastro enteritis, they say). They gave him such good care, and sent me home with easy to digest food, pain meds, pro biotic additive, then Dr. Brian called just a few minutes ago to find out how he is doing. I could not ask for better care for Petey.

A BIG THANK YOU to the staffer I spoke to on the phone this week, when I was totally panicked because my dogs, which of course mean the world to me, had gotten into and drank from a blue/green algae bloom. Even though I told you that I had never visited your clinic, you still spent over five minutes with me on the phone sharing your clinics experience with this, advising me on what to watch for and when to go to the emergency clinic. I was and am so grateful to you that I still get tears over it. (This followed my call to another clinic that I had established care with, only to be turned away with zero advice or support because our system is down.) I hope that once your clinic is back to accepting new patients, that we can establish care with you. In the meantime I wish you your colleagues all the best.

Although we were not allowed inside with our cat, the staff has an efficient system for parking lot exchange of pets and payment. They gave us alternatives for treatment to help us decide whether we could afford the treatment needed and they understood that sometimes finances have to take priority over the life of a pet. They did not rush us into any decisions and did the tests necessary to move one step at a time.

BEWARE!! I DO NOT recommend this place to anyone who loves animals. I was recommended this clinic by a friend who has taken her pet there to be seen by one of the Vet doctors. My bunnies had an accidental litter after we evacuated our home due to the Almeda fire before their appointment to get fixed. I posted an ad on several facebook groups looking for a loving home for them and in my ad I explained I was looking for a home without small children and someone who lived in a house they owned not apartments due to stories I have heard about pets who were abandoned in apartments by their owners who moved— Someone who really loved animals as part of their family and was able to have them as free roam indoor bunny. I also told them I would pay to euthanize them before giving them to people who would make them suffer in the heat/cold outdoors or feed them to snakes. Two of their receptionists said they would like to have them and would give them a forever home.I told them I understand things change sometimes and if for some reason they couldn’t keep them I was willing to drive back to Eugene and take them back, I wanted to make sure they will not suffer in a small cage or end up with people who would release them in the woods if they got tired of them. These bunnies are a lot of work and very expensive to take care of. Erika said they promised to call me back if couldn’t keep them and they would update me how they did. Alicia and Erika D., these receptionists have deceived and lied to me. They had said they were able to take in 4 girls from my bunnies accidental litter. They had ensured me that they would keep my girls free roam and offer them a happy home-- they also said that they had spoke to their bosses Vet Doctors at SCAH (whom they work for) and that they had promised to get the bunnies spayed. I drove 3 hours to Eugene from Ashland, OR to take my girls to their new home, hoping they would be happy as I was promised they would be. I met up with Erika D outside SCAH and had explained how to care for the bunnies, and gave her 3 new, unopened bags of food for the bunnies. I also told her that 3 of the 4 bunnies were from the same litter, and that the oldest, Peanut, was not born with them so they were not bonded and to keep them separated. I sent her pictures of each bunny to make sure they knew which ones to keep together. Erika D. said that she would take two of the bunnies and her coworker would take the oldest and one of the others and keep them separated. Erika ‘s boyfriend mentioned they lived in an apartment. When I had called and spoke to her coworker, Alicia never said they lived in Apartments when I specifically told her that many people local to me wanted the bunnies but unfortunately they lived in apartments and that is why I kept them until I could find homes or find a vet who would euthanize them. Anyway, I let it slide, hoping that a receptionist that worked at a vet clinic had to love animals and be reliable, but I have never been more wrong about someone.Long story short, I was lied to and we believe the bunnies were offered for sale. Also Erika ignored all my requests and instructions on how to take care of the bunnies, she did not follow through with our agreement. Once we got back home and I texted her asking how they were doing Erika’s attitude changed and was a completely different person. She accused me of harassing her just because I asked her if she could send me a picture of their setup. She had placed two bunnies in a cage with NO hay and a small water bottle, when I had explicitly told her that they drank from a water bowl and needed hay access 24/7. The other two bunnies that supposedly her coworker had taken, were NOT even given to her coworker.

This vet office did everything they could for our dog. We took her in for not eating which lead to “passing out” episodes. They fitted our dog into next day appts to take x ray, do an ultrasound and take blood work for about a week. When there was no other test they could do to figure out what was going on, they personally called specialists around the state and gave them all the info and records so we didn’t have to. Dr. Barbara even contacted us on her day off to make sure we got her to the specialist and to tell us blood test results. We want to thank Santa Clara Animal Hospital for everything they did for our Sable. ❤️

We came here because our ferret had a large tumor that needed removed. We found out that it was cancer a little late in the game because we were taking our ferrets to a vet that didnt know much about them. Unfortunately we didnt catch it in time our little man died shortly after the surgery while he was in recovery. Dr. Britney had to make the hard call to let us know. She promised she was going to continue CPR despite the fact that the likelihood of him making it was slim at this time. Dr. Britney went above and beyond during this time for us. They might have higher prices than others but I promise you they are worth it. I have brought my other ferrets here and they have found stuff early on that we wouldnt have caught on our own. Thank you Santa Clara and thank you Dr. Britney, you are truly an amazing person, I can tell that you treated our little guy as if he was your own.

You had no problem taking $500 to spay a cat last month having never even seen it, but I want oral flea meds that have been on the market since before you were a vet and Im an unethical monster? I’ve had two pet rats of mine pass away in the past year due to similar circumstances, both during the pandemic. The first time, I was able to go to Banfield at PetSmart, and they handled her passing well. They said that the anesthesia needed for an x-ray would likely kill her, so we decided to not do any examinations, and agreed it was her time to go. They handled it quickly and got us her ashes and paw prints. We were charged about $200 for the whole ordeal, and they even comped the oxygen and fluids they had given her.Her sister began having the same health problems 11 months later, and we knew she needed to be put down to end her suffering. The doctor at Banfield wasn’t available soon enough, so I did some internet searching and Santa Clara was the only clinic that could see my pet the next day. I dropped off my rat, told them that she was probably sick with pneumonia, the same thing that killed her sister, and told them that I knew it was her time to go, especially since she had lived to the average life expectancy of a rat, and was getting pretty old. After a lengthy sit in the parking lot, the vet called me and told me that they were going to keep my rat on oxygen and fluids and monitor her condition. I wasn’t about to be the person who demands that a vet kill my beloved pet, so I drove home and waited for more information. Later in the day, Dr. Bark called me to let me know that she had determined that my rat wasn’t going to survive. After agreeing to have her euthanized, Dr. Bark informed me that her suspected cause of death is rather common in rats, and described what happens to the rats when the condition progresses. After my rat was euthanized, Dr. Bark texted me a post-mortem x-ray that showed that her guess was correct, my rat’s lungs were full of liquid. I did not ask for any of this information and broke down sobbing repeatedly knowing my pet was in so much pain. My rat’s ashes and paw prints were given to me in a timely manner. Due to the vet going against my wishes and keeping my rat on treatments not only prolonged her suffering, but the post-mortem x-ray that I was not asked about caused the final bill to be about $600.

Our pet died. But let me rewind a bit, He was sick and we brought him in because we wanted to prolong his life and help him fight the respiratory infection he was struggling with. I called and pressed the option for emergency service and they put me on hold, and then they proceeded to try to make an appointment for later that afternoon. I expressed my concern that he may not make it that long. Then they told me to hold again to see if the doctor had time to see my pet, because they already had an emergency on their hands. I’m confused. Why do they have an option to press for emergency and they even answer “what is your emergency?”, but then disregard your emergency?!Luckily, they graciously let us bring him in after pressing our concerns.Because of COVID, we sat in a parking lot and called the number again to tell them we were in a parking spot designated and they took questions over the phone for check in, but no one came out. It was like they forgot it was an EMERGENCY! It was 15 min later they finally grabbed him and immediately put him under respiratory therapy. They took two X-rays. They told us his head and lungs looked fine and sent us home with oral antibiotics and oral pain relief. We explained he had a respiratory infection and middle ear infection. They said the antibiotics should help. He was active and eating before and after the visit. We gave him his first dose of 3x medication with his favorite cream and his health deteriorated within hours and quickly from there went down hill.He was prescribed...0.01 ml Tramadol x 2 daily (every 12 hours)0.25 ml Enrofloxacin x 1 daily (every 24 hours)0.25 Vibramycin x2 daily (every 12 hours)He was an active male rat that weighed 490.0 grams prior to giving the medication. I was told by the nurse that it was ok to give all of his first dose of medication at one time to start. He ate it up. From there he went down hill. He stopped eating, drinking, & doing his normal fun activities. He started to become dehydrated and lethargic. The vet receptionist called out of curiosity for follow-up the next day. I was thankful for that and explained his situation. The receptionist was caring and urged us to bring him back in for a follow up. She explained they would give him fluids, oxygen therapy, & administer antibiotics since he wasn’t taking anything orally. We brought him in and they took him back 45 min later. He spent all afternoon. I got a call from the doctor and the doctor was asking to take more invasive Xrays. I was shocked. He was a tiny rat, I spent $500 dollars on the first visit with two X-rays already on his tiny body. I told them I could not afford any more X-rays. At 4:45pm I picked him up and he seemed worse off then when I brought him in. They did not give him antibiotics like I was told by the receptionist who picked him up that morning. In fact, I asked the doctor if he got antibiotics in their care and she rudely said, “no, you can do that orally at home when you pick him up.” I was blown away by the response. We brought him in the second time because he was not taking anything orally at all at this point. The doctor came across in an uncharitable manner. She showed no empathy! She was so disrespectful! When we got Gus, he was dirty & unkept. They didn’t bother to clean him up. He felt cold and looked worse off then we left him! Dirty and sick. Our furry family member died the next morning. I paid over $700 dollars for the worst service.I won’t come back!

For a food allergy my boy was ordered pain pills, antibiotics and allergy meds. This visit cost 267.00. I wasnt informed on a infection so why antibiotics. Then the pain pills... For what Im not sure. Like I said in my last review. WOULD BE NICE IF THESE VETS TOOK THESE POSITIONS AS SOMEONE THAT LOVES ANIMALS. NOT AS A FINANCIAL GAIN. I love my dogs like my children and will do anything for them. To bad we get taken advantage of in a critical time.Dated: June-ish 2021I have been going here since before the owners got married. The staff is ALWAYS friendly and positive. I will admit the prices have gotten a little bit on the high side. But as we all know times change and expenses have to change with the time. They are still very reasonable in comparison. I know that its all about the money in business. It would just be nice if vets cared a little more about the animal and not the dollar sign. Not dating thats how Santa Clara is. As they are not that type of vet. Thats just a peeve of mine.

Well, after two Xrays, a 200 exam I was informed my dogs heart was huge and hes lost a lot of weight. Really?? I really wanted to say no S#@!. Dr. Barbara was just plain mean. She did not listen to me and I stopped listening to her when she said if I wasnt going to treat my dog I should euthanize him. WHO SAYS THAT? Me dog is my life and I only wanted to make him comfortable during his last days with his family. You dont know me, you dont know my love for my dog. How dare you.

Once again, the care we received from Santa Clara was top-notch. Dr Brian is a good communicator and provided us with both realistic prices and outcomes for our dog Pepper. Also, Monica, the vet tech in charge of checking on Pepper after hours was wonderful - she called with updates and took good care of our beloved girl. Thanks!

We love Santa Clara animal hospital 💕We have been going there for over 30 years.Their office manager Patty is a jewel. After working in health care myself for 30 years I have high expectations for my animals veterinary care, they always exceed my expectations!! Long term employees like Patty go over and above to provide excellent service. We recommend their office all the time to people who want exceptional care for their fur babies. The vets who own the clinic Sean and Cary are exceptional with years of experience! We give them a ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Rating!

Great people. Our guinea pig was not doing good with over grown teeth and poor health. Dr Amy was very knowledgeable and super nice. Had it not been for her we dont believe gus gus would still be with us.

Britney and the staff were very compassionate towards my dog. He has really bad anxiety when it comes to being at the vet. You know when they say a dog can sense good people, well after getting him into the office britney stated he warmed up to her and layer his head on her lap. This says alot especially since he usually growls at the vets cause he is scarred. Thank you guys for making roscoe feel comfortable at your office.

We recently gave a bad review because our cat was given two shots that we did not authorize. After talking to the Doctor I believe it was probably an honest miscommunication. I was also under the impression that they they could give our cat a sedative before trying to trim her fur. When I realized that the protocol was to not sedate I was sympathetic to a less than perfect trim. Our cat would definitely fight. I am giving a five star to balance out the earlier one star.

Brought my 2 baby silky chickens in. One had a swollen leg and could barely walk & the other had it’s eyes glued shut (I’d been treating it for days without success with natural remedies). Both are recovering tremendously since they treated them! The chick’s leg is 4 times smaller and she doesn’t even have a limp anymore! The other chick’s eye infection is almost completely gone! This is a vet clinic that definitely successfully help birds! A little pricey though but health is more important than wealth!!!

I thought that everyone was very nice and Jackson was very happy. He is just a puppy. This was his first visit to the Doctor. I was not really comfortable just sending him in by himself as I wanted to micro-manage!!!! Happy to report Jackson showed so signs of stress coming back to the car in fact was very content.... His first dr visit-sucess...Just what I wanted! Thank you!

During this time of having to practice social distancing, Santa Clara Animal Hospital staff are very organized and go out of their way to make sure that the pets get the best care. Im very happy with my experience when I took my cat, Jax, to see Dr. Barbara.

A huge thank you to Santa Clara Animal Hospital, you guys are awesome! Way to be amazing, especially during these times (COVID-19).Our precious girl (pug) deteriorated over night, and hardly had the use of her back legs. My husband and I were very stressed out and called The hospital. The gal that we spoke to (manager) was particularly kind and very helpful, and got us an appointment the very next day at the perfect time! She even offered to get us in the same day but we decided to go with the next day because precious was not showing signs of pain and is an older dog.Next day during our visit, everyone was very helpful once again. They provided excellent and very timely service and then proceeded to apologize for the wait. The doctor spent a lot of time on the phone with my husband, and then with me! Dr. was very nice and extremely informative. We wish we could remember everyone’s name because you guys are super amazing and totally rock! Thank you for always being there for us and our fur babies!! Thanks again so very much and God bless!!

Minus two stars because they dont reply to REPEATED emails and voicemails. They dont send x-rays when requested and my pet portal was not updated. Otherwise staff does a great job.
