After approximately 30 years of being with Farmers... I finally searched around and found a much cheaper policy with Progressive. Please note, I have a perfect driving record. I cancelled both my auto and home insurance with farmers (with a bit of time between, maybe a few months of cancelling the auto and home policy). I received a refund from them which I expected and my account was closed. After about 6/7 months of my cancelled policy they decided to send me a bill (and almost sent to collections) stating that I had lost my discount during that time since I did not have the multi-policy discount. $115.94. I was completely shocked, I think this should have been taken care of back then, not to receive another bill at a later time. I guess 30 years of them receiving the free money from me (gotta stay legal, never had a claim) wasnt enough! I paid it, but I let them know I was super unhappy with this transaction. I DO NOT RECOMMEND FARMERS!
