Im not from the area, but our rental car suffered a flat tire on I-80 near Elkhart last week in the middle of a multi-state road trip and we brought it in to Monteiths for the tire to be repaired or replaced. It was almost closing time, but the team at Monteiths went out of their way to fix the tire while we waited so my son and I could get on our way. The gentleman at the reception desk was extremely courteous and helpful and I could not have been happier with the end result. This is a top-notch, high-integrity business and I would recommend Monteiths to anyone in need of tires or tire service.

I was not overly impressed! I bought a new set of tires which is what I came in for and the tires are great but I had 2 other issues that the guy totally blew off and told me if they had time they would look at one was a battery terminal and the other a front end noise. When they were done with the tires he was all about having me pay and get rid of me was the very obvious feel to the transaction. I went to this place cause a friend referred me - believe me when I say I wouldnt ever refer anyone here after making this purchase. I left with unresolved issues and feeling as if he tried to rob me for road hazard which I then declined he quoted me like an extra hundred for road hazard NO THANKS Ill take my chances and my money elsewhere in the future.

I had my vehicle serviced and the mechanic noticed a nail in my tire. When I picked up my car I immediately went to Monteith. I figured at least a patch or worst case a new tire. When I pulled in to their large parking lot they seemed fairly busy but got me in right away. The woman at the front desk was very courteous and helpful. After inspection of the tire, the nail wasnt deep enough so air was not leaking. They were honest with the inspection and I drove away with no charge. I would highly recommend this location for the service and honesty of the management and employees.

My husband and I traveled out for a Notre Dame vs Purdue game. We had a terrible wobble by the time we hit Elkhart. Got up the next morning and the team at Montieth took the best care of us. We had three bad tires so went and had all four replaced. We loved this team. Great service!!!! And the best was that Notre Dame won that weekend. Thank you Monteith for your excellent service. You guys are top notch!!!

Had to stop at Monteith as I was having a hard time with my tire pressures due to Gates not resetting my sensors after a rotation. I was on my way to work and in a rush and the girl behind the counter assisted me really quickly along with one of the guys from the shop they were super quick, knowledgeable, courteous and friendly! Thank you so much Monteith I will be back and kudos for hiring great employees!

They always get me in and out as quick as possible and they do good work their lobby is spacious and quite comfortable.

Set up an appointment for an oil change several days later. Service was fast and completed properly and timely. Service writer went above and beyond by taking the time to call my extended service plan for payment through my prepaid maintenance plan. My only complaint is, their window sticker shows 3k miles until next change? What modern car, using synthetic oil has a 3k mile interval these days? 5k, 10k, 12k, but the oil change sensor wont kick in at 3k. Maybe mileage of the change should be shown, instead of the next estimated interval, as many cars tell you when it needs it changed.

Nice facility, good people, quick work, and some cool cars. A bit pricey.

Went in for a tire rotation and was out in a flash. The counter salesman was courteous and fast quickly getting my van in for the rotation. I barely had time to sit in the waiting area and it was done. Will definitely came back to this location.

Fast, thorough and complete service always. As visitors to this beautiful area each summer I was referred to Montieths by a handful of locals. Have had oil changes, transmission and rear end services done to our RAM dually while here. I Wish we could take them with us as we travel.

UPDATE: Shortly after submitting this review, the store called and said they went back through and found records of my purchase and apologized for the misunderstanding. Apparently when I bought the tires the sale was recorded in such a way that it didnt show up under the VIN. Mike at the store printed me a copy of the sale invoice so Id have it, and he committed to reversing the charge for the repair. Glad it was just a misunderstanding. As I said before, Ive never had any issues with Monteith and Im glad to know they care enough to read these and investigate. Review updated to 5 stars where it should be.Ive been buying all my tires from Monteith for years now. I always buy the warranty, and Ive never had to pay for a tire repair, never had any issues with tire service. Stopped in today for a repair and was charged $30. I asked the gentleman if tire repairs werent covered anymore, he said I didnt purchase the warranty. I told him that was odd because I always make a point to buy it, and Ive had multiple repairs done on this same set of tires and theyve always been free. He didnt offer to check, just took my credit card and charged me $30. Once I find the receipt Ill confirm it, but if I find I wasnt actually charged for the warranty Ill update this review.

I am highly disappointed this time around. I am on my 3rd set of tires from them. I get an alignment often and never get new tires without an alignment. But for whatever reason they said they couldnt do the alignment because of the bolts dodge uses. They have done multiple alignments for my truck. Now I have new tires and an unaligned truck. If they would have told me before they put the new tires on I would have waited to get them until I got an alignment. Well this my last set of tires from this location.

I went to this Monteiths to schedule an appointment. They were able to get me in a few days later (at my request). Tanner was the one I was in contact with and was helping me with my car. He was so nice and had great communication about what was going on with my Jeep Wrangler. He told me they had the parts to fix my car that day, which surprised me (Zolmans took 3 visits and $122 to fix the wrong part and not the part I wanted). Per my request he fixed both of my front pigtail connections and straightened a stubborn headlight. Would definitely recommend Monteiths if you dont know what car repair shop to go to.

While traveling out of town for work, I had picked up a nail in one of my tires, lucky Monteith’s tire was close by. I’ve never used them and don’t even live in the area, but hands down this was the best tire repair service I’ve ever experienced. They got me in and out within 20 minutes and I had no appointment strictly a walk in type of situation. My only grip is that they don’t have any locations in the Fort Wayne area because if they did they would be my only go to tire service shop, best tire shop I’ve ever done business with

I was from out of state but needed my oil changed same day and i even brought my own oil/filter these guys had no issue with setting me an appointment for later in the day and getting me in and out. No mess in or on the car and great service.

Quick walk in service to diagnose a faulty valve stem. Got my vehicle tire and repaired pronto. Employees were on the spot cleaning areas in the common areas. Good value and service. Would highly recommend, will certainly return again.

Where Monteiths shines is that in the end they stand behind their work and will make it right. That is key. The reason for 3 stars is the customer service is sub-par with the notable exception of Reid. I know all of my vehicles inside and out, and didnt appreciate the attitude from two employees that came across like Im clueless and only they know anything about vehicles, not even considering they might be debating a retired powertrain engineer. When my point was proven, and I returned to the store to have things corrected, yet another poor show of customer service, and until that interaction I was pretty ok with the inconvenience in burning most of my day for an alignment, rebalance and rotate. Fortunately, Reid took back over and after the corrections to my truck everything is rolling smoothly and operating. I would not hesitate to use them again at all, but some basic customer service training showing empathy and concern for a customers inconvenience would go a long way. Reid - thank you for making everything right in the end.

Great place to bring your car.

Third visit in a years time for the same issues that I was in for previously (one issue per visit before this). Both issues were covered under Monteith’s warranty for their repairs yet they conveniently forgot about the second repair being covered initially and needed to be reminded by me, the customer. Car was in for a full two days for a repair that took 3 hours in total. I was never called back when my car was finished, I had to check in myself to find out. When it came time to pay, they charged me only for the part not covered under warranty, but also had the audacity to charge me for a diagnostics fee for the issues they didn’t fix the first time around. Finally, upping getting back in my car, I found one of the techs left some of his trash in my vehicle. What a sweet parting gift. I was please with the work done, but do not recommend to a potential new customer. Only reason I even returned this time, was because I knew their warranty would pay for (most) of the repair.EDIT: The location manager Ben reached out to explain the fee charged and helped me get a better understanding of it (I’m not a car guy). And he always wanted to apologize for the return for failed parts and the trash left behind. A small gesture that only took a few minutes but in all helped make the experience better. I knew I needed to get something done with the tires on my car and had decided to check out three places to get quotes. I started off with Belle Air and went in and said, “I’m thinking about getting some tires”. Although I knew for a fact, I was getting tires today and had about $1200 to do so. The guy wasn’t rude but he also seemed like he couldn’t care less that I was there. He printed off some prices and went back to what he was doing.I then decided to head over to Monteith’s on Cass and said the same thing. That I was thinking about getting tires for my car. As soon as I walked in I was met with enthusiasm and friendliness by Tanner ( I think that’s what his name was, I’m terrible with names). Not even knowing I was definitely buying something and was looking for the best they had, he went through different options for my vehicle. He knew his stuff and went over the different treads and how each tire handles with weather. He also went through the prices and was extremely personable. He made me feel at home and that he was excited that I was there.I had decided within the first ten minutes of walking through the door, that I was buying tires here. I didn’t even need to go for my third quote. Tanner had me at hello 😂.I ended up getting some of the best tires they offered and still had money in my budget for an alignment, which I got as well. I’m not sure if all their front people are like this but I can say if you’re lucky enough to have Tanner working with you, you won’t go anywhere else.Thank you for making my Saturday stress free and going above and beyond just average business!

I needed an oil change. Their sign states walk ins welcome for oil changes so I thought I would give them a try. The guys at the counter were very friendly and let me know that where would be a little bit of a wait since they were down a guy. I appreciated their honesty and that they didn’t try to sell me things that I didn’t need.I would recommend this Monteith location!

Ive been doing business with Monteiths Tire and Auto centers for years now. Always same, friendly service. They can work you in for minor tasks. Oil changes I always make an appointment for just so I dont have to wait. Good people, excellent service, reasonable prices.

Awesome store and great location! I had a tire leaking air from around the bead of the rim and they took care of it in no time. I sat and watched tv while I waited. When it came time to pay they said no charge and have a great day! I dont know if thats a common practice but its always nice when a business treats you like part of the family and gives you a break. I would recommend them to anyone! They definitely will be getting my business again!

Austin Ellis from Best-One Tire was fantastic. I had a nail in my tire and he fixed the issue in less than 20 minutes. I was on my way to a funeral in Wisconsin and needed super fast service. It felt like he dropped everything to help me and my family get back on the road. Great place that focuses on premium customer service!

As far as getting what I needed the service met my expectations. However, I would like to make a suggestion. Customers like myself want to make their vehicle last longer and more reliable. So my suggestion is that you have customer centric agents that work with the customers to put a plan together to keep the vehicles running well and have a preventative maintenance program. That way you can manage your cost of up keep while not being surprised by things that could have been prevented. PM is much less expensive to the customer if they can avoid breakdown situations. Maybe create a rewards program that would incentivize the customers to join the program. Things like discounts on tire rotations, air filters, flushes. I really enjoy these programs with other places I do business with. That being said, I generally enjoy bringing my vehicle to your company.

I’m giving this place 5 star and I’m willing to put 10stars if possible. Here is my storyI was traveling from NC to IL to NY back to NC. Going from IL to NY I had a flat tire on my way. I stopped by this tire place to get it fixed and they found out that I had to get another tire, so they replaced it for me and when I went to pay they refused to take money because they saw me traveling and tired and they did not want to charge me. That was very very nice from them. It meant the world to me. On top of that we got coffee and water.Great people work here.As soon as I get to NC, I’ll send the sweets for you guys.Thanks a lot from me and my wife

They were quick to service my vehicle, and get me back on the road. We have used them several times, and have always received good service.The facility is clean, has decent wifi, and refreshments.Prices are decent, and I have trusted them with everything from tire replacements, to oil changes, to fluid flushes.

Yesterday was the first time I have serviced my car at this store and everyone was efficient and friendly. A very nice waiting room and so happy could make an appointment instead of first come first serve!!! Thank you!!

Overall it was a pleasant experience and the tires were fairly priced that I bought. Best thing was a full synthetic oil change for under $50. However, I did not give full 5 stars because it took over 3 hours to get it all done. So basically as long as you are not in a hurry its a reasonablely priced place with great customer service.

Three times I have taken my car there to get tires or fixed nails in them because my tires were under warranty with them. All 3 times my lug nuts have become dangerously loose. I called the 2nd time it happened and they said on the paper it says to tighten after 70 miles. Ok, but my mechanic who rotates my tires never seems to have this issue. I went back there this third time for a nail repair and told the person I want to make sure they hand tighten. He assured me that 2 different people had hand tightened them. Well, all lug nuts were loose again, and glad I was close enough to home to get it there safely.

Didnt have the two different tires I looked at on line that were supposed to be in stock according to web site. So had to buy slightly more expensive ones instead. About 15 bucks more per tire.As for the service. It was great. Not long of a wait. Very friendly staff. No complaints.

I truly appreciate the service at the Elkhart North Monteith Best-One Tire & Auto Care. I have received prompt and VERY courteous attention each time I have visited. I have replaced all four of my tires over the past 6 months--never pressured to buy. Each time, I was presented with options to make an informed decision to receive the best value I can afford. Finally, the wait times during service were very reasonable and surprisingly quick in a comfortable, clean waiting area.

Fast Fair service and tires from knowledgeable associates. Beautiful clean showroom. Monteiths does wonderful community service activities every year for the Elkhart area.

Busy Saturday morning, but very quick service. Tire was unrepairable, had the roadside assistance program, so $43, instead of over $200. And they did a tire rotation. An hour and a half total in the shop. Definitely recommend them and the roadside protection.

Whether it’s a routine oil change/tire rotation, maintenance/mechanical issue, or tire purchase, the team at Monteith have been easy to work with and very helpful. They welcome my questions and explain concerns/repairs needed. My dad used to do nearly all my auto maintenance until he passed. It’s nice to have a group who knows me by name when I arrive and stands by its service and warranty.

I was very pleased with the service I received,do I will be back for tired for my car. I went to Bell Tire first and one of the workers was so rude I left and came to Monteiths so I will be back.

You were very thorough in analyzing several issues with my Honda element, found the most economical way to rectify the problems, and did it in a very expedient timeframe. Everyone at your location is super friendly and you explain things in a way that I could understand. You definitely have a future customer coming back.

Getting my Jeep in on short notice was great. With that said, when l drove said Jeep back home the leak that was supposedly fixed was leaking just as bad as before having a new radiator and both hoses replaced all be it at a cost of over $600. I certainly pray that l wasnt lied to about needing a new radiator, but it truly makes me wonder. The leak was found by me at the radiator cap where the overflow hose that runs from just below the cap to the overflow tank needed a clamp at the end of the overflow hose closest to the cap. So far so good. I even had to top off the f.coolant in the overflow tank for it was well below where it should have been considering the coolant system was flushed as well. Im not a happy camper at this time. We shall see if l will return for any further work. Sorry but you asked me for a rating and review so you got it. Sincerely, Jeffrey L Moss
