My stylist cancelled on me last minute and I thought I would give this salon a try. I wanted some layers to add movement and texture to my hair because it is very flat and THIN. I told Lea that I wanted “some layers razor cut to add texture and movement and I don’t want any length taken. I also want some long curtain bangs.” She asked where I wanted my bags to and I showed her with my finger that I wanted them to end just below my cheek bones, below my glasses. As you can see they are at my eyebrows. The first two photos are my hair and the last is the reference photo. She washed my hair and wiped all the makeup off my forehead and got my shirt back wet. Then she brought me to her station and didn’t fully brush through my hair on one side because there was a little snarl. She parted my hair and proceeded to take the scissors first and cut big chunks off the back that went to the top of my head and then started razoring everything shorter. She also spoke to me a total of 3 times mostly for the consultation and to then tell me “we cut all your blond off and there are the layers you wanted” while she laughed it off. She took 15 minutes to do my cut and wash and still charged me full price. She asked me if I liked it and I lied because I didn’t want to cry in the salon. I don’t recommend this salon or Lea to anyone, you can look at the pictures for your proof.

I visited ER location fo the first time, April stylist were finishing up the customer who had long hair and seemed a bit behind her schedule and her hands were moving fast to give the customer the best outcome. I’ve noticed another stylist (short blond bob hair cut)keep looking at her like she got something to say. I showed APRIL the haircut from Pinterest and a short time later she nailed it. I was the one very satisfied customer. she took time to do all the detail cuts and looks as if I just walked out of Upscale hair salon look!!!

I had one bad experience and the lady got alot of wax in my hair when doing my eyebrows. But my second experience with meranda was amazing!

Haircut itself was fine. My stylist, Megan, was what made the experience negative. Her general attitude was very uppity, like she knew more about my hair then I do. She lectured, and told me, no when I told her I used an Aveda product (which has worked wonders, and was recommended by a stylist with more experience). She then assumed my understanding of my own hair and talked down to me about things I was already doing, such as washing frequencies, and basic hair care. She laughingly said, oh, f--- you! THREE separate times, after I showed her how long my hair had grown from a year ago. I was speechless the rest of my appointment. I will never recommend Fantastic Sams without warning people off of her- especially for childrens services!

I took my 13 year old daughter for a cut and for her hair to be thinned out. She has very thick hair. The girl that was suppose to do her hair handed me and my daughter brushes to brush through the hair clump in her hair. I was surprised because we went there for service and for help. I asked the girl for a water pray bottle she said with a snark that won help. As I was brushing out the clump in my daughters hair we had a mother daughter disagreement about her hair. The conversation was between us we werent yelling or using bad language. The girl come over and said my manager told me to tell you that you will have to leave and come back after you brush through her hair. We kindly left and didnt return. Isnt it your job to help customers with hair problems. The girl didnt offer any help or suggestions on how to make my daughters thick hair more manageable. We went to Great Clips and the lady there was more then helpful with tips and suggestions on how to make my daughters hair more manageable. Fantastic Sams should have offered the same kind of service.

The staff generally seem like unhappy here. Hairstyles are not going to be top quality but I like to come here in between upscale visits for trims because it is cheap. Hair color is cheap and good but good,luck getting in for one. Princeton and Zimmerman locations have turned me away so many times I have given up.

I love this location...my daughter, my boyfriend and myself all go there. We have only had our hair done by Jessie (who is amazing!) but the rest of the staff has always been super friendly and helpful!!

The elk river location is the best one I’ve been to! All the girls there are super nice, Jessii gives a great hair cut! She fixed my hair after I got a horrible hair cut. If you want a short trim, she’s the one to go to! All around a great store, good service!

I went for color and haircut. Despite I showed the hair stylist the color AND the haircut I wanted, I ended up with a different color and a very different haircut. I told her that I did not really like what she was doing to my hair. She completely dismissed me and tried to finish her haircut. On top of that, she went on with excuses saying that my hair was course. My hair is fine and straight! No apology, or offer to fix my haircut at a different time. The other hairstylist were very rude by complimenting their coworker instead of at least staying neutral. I will have to spend extra hundred dollars fixing this super lame and unwanted style. I am never going there again. Horrible.

I went in tonight because my regular stylist come down sick at the last minute. Worst decision I made. The color they gave me was no where near the color I showed them and I got the reasoning that she was trying to match it to the color of my roots in the picture not the main color. I have photo shoot tomorrow and was told there was nothing they could do to fix what they did. And still charged me full price! Thanks for ruining what should have been an exciting experience! I will NEVER go back!!!

I recently visited this location to have my hair cut and colored and I loved the turn out! I felt like my stylist Cammille truly listened to me and what I wanted for my hair as well as letting me know what my hair needed for at home. I’ll definitely be returning.

I love this location and drive from Champlin to get my color, cut, deep conditioning treatments and waxing done. All of the stylists are knowledgeable and friendly. Lea is my favorite! I also stock up on my products! Great service, always, at this location!!

The service is excellent! Wouldn’t go anywhere else. Lea’s color skill is phenomenal! I’ve tried a lot of other salons and this is by far my favorite!

I just LOVE the fantastic Sam’s in Elk River,. They do a great cut and color, and get you in and out in a respectable amount of time .All the girls are nice and very professional. They do a great job.

Very poor rude workers here. Not well ran. Very expensive pricing with no workers being considerate. Watch out for these guys. Highly not recommended and will never go back to this location.

Absolutely horrible. 2 haircuts in 2 days from 2 different stylists and they are both horrendous. The first looked like a complete chop with hairs sticking out everywhere. The second, the stylist did not listen at all and looks nothing like what I asked for. When leaving the second time I said that I didnt like it. The stylist made excuses for how it will look different later. I said that I didnt like the length. She then said that she could blow it out for it. A blow out doesnt change the length of a haircut. I do NOT recommend. I have no idea how I am going to fix my hair now, but I know that I wont be going back to these guys.

Went in for a trim. Stylist was nice. Place was clean. Not a long wait.

Sons hair came out good but my husbands came out just horrible. Hes gone there twice now and both times his hair looked horrible ( crew cut ). I would recommend going to the Ramsey location. They are way better. Elk river needs a lot of improvements.

Soooo hard to find someone who can cut my curly hair but they were able to do it perfectly and exactly what I asked for!

Soon after being bit by a radioactive spider, while being exposed to mutagen and having a human advancement experiment preformed on me by the pre-cold war US government, I found myself in quite the predicament...sure I could lift a tank above my head, fly and shoot plasma beams from my eyes, but the most pesky of my super powers was that about every 22 days, without fail, I needed a haircut.Now being a superior version of humans in every way, it would be impossible for me to go to just any stylist... I had to go to someone that had both the skill and know how to cut through these superhuman fibers I call hair. To the rescue, came Cammille! Faster than Barry Allen after 3 espressos, my hair was fashioned into the latest style! As far as I am concerned, my powers are meek compared the this shear wielding stylist.

Stylist was very friendly but didnt give me the cut I asked for and was very slow. It took about 90 minutes. I told her I wanted the front to sit along the jawline and it was about 2 inches too long so she cut it again. I told her I wanted the back to be to my earlobes and its about 2 inches too short. I also told her the comb felt like it was cutting my neck but she still kept pushing hard. The scissors scraped my neck too.

Friendly and very professional. Stylists listen to what you want and does offer their suggestions. I only go to this salon because...they’re Fantastic!

Color is what I asked for after repeatedly explaining I didnt want something else, but the hair itself is nothing like the pictures I showed. Its to short and overall just not what I wanted. Very disappointed and will not be returning ever again. Do not recommend.

So I know its so hard to find someone who gets how you want your hair colored and cut but I have found that person I love love going to her Danny shes the best wont go anywhere else !!!

Was in on a Tuesday night for trim and to get my eyebrows waxed. I dont know the stylists name, because I really dont think she ever told me. She took more off my hair then I wanted, I asked for a trim and was very clear that I didnt want much taken off the length. When she showed me my brows after waxing them, I pointed out several times spots that she missed. Instead of simply plucking them, she kept waxing the same spot over and over again, until I finally asked for the tweezers and did it myself. The next morning I woke up and my left eye lid was swollen and very red. I will not be returning.

I went with my 2 children 3 and 5 years old, got my 5 year olds hair done first wasnt bad, my sons hair I told her to do a one on sides and a 2 on top my sons hair is shaved all one length I was mad, not happy will never go back other than to get fixed not recommended

I Will NEVER go back there! My hair was so damaged after highlights it fell out. Stylist told me it was just my dead ends that got damaged.I went home and got a better look at it.My highlights in the back are white oh and almost all of its falling out! Very displeased, I recommend you go elsewhere unless you want to invest in a wig.

Horrible customer service! First off, their website time is incorrect. We walked I t here at 5pm on a Saturday and they said they were closed. Clearly the website says 6pm. Goodbye Fantastick Sams....you just lost 7 customers. DO NOT GO HERE. The lady was extremely rude about it too.
