They helped me when I could barely help myself. I have never had anymore problems with them. During the height of the pandemic they acted as and treated at least me, with dignity. I recommend Starting Gate to everyone.

I have used Starting Gate to buy and sell homes and appreciate how they conduct business! Very helpful and professional. Definitely recommend if needing to buy or sell a home. I am currently looking to invest in rentals and Gary and his team are the first ones I plan on using from start to finish. Look forward to having them as my property managers.

My family will not apply for any Starting Gate properties going forward. We were told that we were the first applicants, but denied rental due to they could not get in contact with our current property manager for a rental history. Come to find out, starting gate reached out to the incorrect property place. They stated the property number we provided on the application was invalid. The number was read back to me and I called said number while speaking to Starting gate property manager, Diane. The number was indeed valid as my property manager answered.. Starting gate was called on three-way with our current property manager who confirmed that the information we provided was accurate. Our current property manager also confirmed that no phone call, voicemail, nor email was received from starting gate. Diane stated she got all the information from a flyer for another property- although she told us earlier in the call she got the information from their website. We were disappointed and highly frustrated with starting gates’ lies as they could not provide any other legit reason such as credit or income to deny us. If you must apply, please be careful as they may screw up and blame you.

They tend to lie to much and they do not maintain their properties. The property they showed me was in rough condition, but me being a plumber I decided to go ahead and apply for it as I can maintain and update things. They denied me and reason was they claim they did not speak to my current landlord. Well I was standing next to my current landlord when they called and heard what all was said so their denial was bold face lie. They also showed the property to me and 3 other people at same time. So I would not recommend this place to anyone as they lie and they do not maintain their propertys and do not have them legally inspected with shade tree things they do to the properties.

Absolutely love this property management company! The whole office is not only very professional, but also kind and easy to work with. Anytime I have a problem or concern, I don’t hesitate to bring it to them. They are very responsive and timely when returning calls and dealing with maintenance orders, even when it’s after hours/an emergency. Great company, great people. Definitely recommend to anybody looking to lease in the Elizabethtown area!

DO NOT RENT FROM THIS BUSINESS! You will NEVER get a deposit returned in full! Not professional, VERY demanding, wont fix ANYTHING, and will absolutely charge for previous damage IF you dont catch it on YOUR inspection! I wouldnt recommend these folks to ANYONE! ONLY good person there is the owner Gary! I wish I could remember the actual property owners name because I would put it out there as well! NEVER late on Rent and they have VERY POOR COMMUNICATION with Tenants! They act like they are bothered and that tenants are beneath them! Horrible, Horrible, Horrible experience!

This company & employees are the most unprofessional! Being new to KY with 2 small children I had no idea what to look for on my inital walk thru...I only wrote down what I thought was major, well that back fired on my family! We were charged for damage that was already there prior to us moving in, the previous property management place was well aware of this as well as the property owner. We paid rent on time NEVER late once. We kept the place clean at ALL times (the proprerty owner & his wife both commented how clean it was). Calls to Starting Gate were made multiple times regarding kitchen flooring, A/C unit, toilet leaking & sloping of floor getting worse. Took weeks for anyone to contact us. When we threatened to contact a contractor to fix floor is when someone finally called us. All said & done, I do not recommend this place for anyone! Especially when you have employees that have no business working with the public!!!!!

Literally the most fair property management company I’ve ever rented from. Always fixes any issues within a reasonable time limit. Prices are fair. Simple and easy to understand lease. I’m military and at Ft Knox and they really understand the moving process for soldiers.

They promptly fixed things when called.

My stove has been broken for a month now, I called today to see if there was anything I could do to fix the situation, they stated to go buy a stove! I’ve called 2x a week to get this stove fixed and they have not been helpful. 1250 a month and they tell me to buy a stove! Absolutely horrible.

Rented from them for several years. They were great responding to work orders and keeping me informed of status of repair. I even used them to purchase my first home which they made very easy and enjoyable. Highly recommend.

If you plan on renting or using this company to rent out your home, think twice before you do. This company isn’t loyal to tenants and refuse to properly maintenance your home or make repairs necessary for you to live comfortable and stress free. If you plan on renting carefully read any lease given to you by this company because they are all about the money and honesty is far from what you’ll receive dealing with this company. Renting from this company had been a nightmare and I hope that others don’t go through what I’ve been through. Run away if you want to save on time and money.

Horrible company.

This has to be the worst rental agency i have ever met. Please read reviews before renting or to do anything with them. The property manager will not give a refund or call back even tho they say they will. And if you are military please don’t get involved!!

Very nice & professional ladies in the office

I wish could say that this company cares about their renters. We rented two homes from this company, one which was located on 1917 S. Woodland drive in Radcliff. We were only able to stay there for six months due to the constant repairs such as leaking ceilings, freezing pipes that caused us to have to relocate to a hotel for two weeks, roaches when we first moved in, soiled carpets which caused a terrible smell throughout the home, etc. It was such a headache that we could no longer live there and the repairs wasn’t done in a timely manner. So we were excited about moving to another home which Gary Richardson the property manager showed us. Beautiful home, pretty descent neighborhood, but the first night we move in, the downstairs room flooded with rain. Yes someone did come out but the repairs wasn’t done correctly and whenever it rains hard, it still runs into the room downstairs. In the summer when it got really hot, a infestation of flies took over the same room due to the cracks in the door that was never repaired. So I guess that’s why “Tenants are responsible for pest control was put in the lease”. I should’ve known something was wrong after noticing the fly nets hanging up. Lastly, we received a $700 waterbill that was no fault of ours. We informed the property manager that never sent a plumber out to fix the problem which we had to pay for out of pocket... even the plumber stated that the toilet was faulty but they still refused to take any responsibility for the 919 S. Atcher st residence. I can’t say that the entire company is bad, but for a family that pays rent on time and take care of the property, we shouldn’t have to go through this. So as I stated, I wish we could’ve had a pleasant experience with this company, no one likes moving every time there’s a problem with the home, especially if your job requires you to move a lot.
