This is the first time I’ve rented a car in the past 20 years. I Prepaid and scheduled a rental on Hertz.com 2 months prior. When I go to pick up my rental, I’m greeted with a sign telling me I have to drive 1hr away to Louisville to get my rental! No notice was given that this location was going to be closed due to the manager going on vacation. Poor communication all around! Enterprise might cost $100 more, but it might be worth it to go with the competition.
For all fellow chime members they do not accept chime cards... I made my reservation and paid $400 to reserve my vehicle they took my money and refused to give me my rental because I use chime for a bank... Ya great way to deal with customer service
I placed a rental reservation online because their phone number would not allow me to speak to an individual working there. After reserving a vehicle online I drove 30 minutes to the facility to pick up my rental, and they had no vehicle for me. This was a complete waste of my time, and because of this I could not rearrange a rental with another company.

The rating is not for the customer service but to the conpany.They need to have better consideration with their employees because I did a reservation for a small suv at HERTZ website and I arrived to the location and there was no car available.After speaking with the customer service representative there, it was an error by the system allowing reservations without cars available.This is bad for the office because it will get customers upset at the representatives when is not their fault at all; they basically got setup for failure.

Very courteous service here and very good rates. We rented a van from South Carolina and stopped to Elizabethtown to drop off here in Kentucky. The staff provided a pleasant, smooth and straight-forward experience and a plus for the very competitive rates.

The car was outstanding, new, relatively clean with great gas mileage. However, I booked and paid 2 months in advance and when I got there they didnt have a car for me. I waited 20 minutes for a car, which was an upgraded one, but the seats were real dirty. Overall it was a very pleasant experience.
They were absolutely the friendliest and most helpful staff Ive ever dealt with at a car rental place. Went above and beyond for me in a time of crisis. Definitely secured my business for the foreseeable future.
They have always been there when we needed them. Whether bc our family car wouldnt start and was having it worked on or there was a really bad accident. They took care of all the details. They have the best prices too.

The car we had was cleaned out and was never smoked in and they took 323.30 for cleaning charges and wont put it back on my card and I am livid because of it and cant even pay my bills. That place should be shut down. Plus state farm insurance company has already gave them 501.14
This is my first time dealing with Hertz. I cant put my entire dissatisfaction on this specific dealer, but Im definitely displeased.A business partner and I had a situation in which two different rentals were booked for us. The first we picked up in Indianapolis and would be returning to Etown. The second, we would pick up in Etown while returning the other at the same time. Since we had quite a bit of personal items packed in the first car, we tried to see if we could just keep the same car even though we were starting a separate reservation. But for whatever reason this couldnt be done. The woman at the desk was very polite. I cant fault her for anything but it just seemed like a simple thing to be able to do: Hand over the keys to one reservation, returning that car to the system. Then, start our new reservation, but get the same car back.Finally, the car we had to switch to had animal hair in it and someone had clearly smoked in it. It seemed clear that the cars arent vacuumed before going to new customers. We had a nice, clean car and had to switch to a dirty one. We were limited on time during this transaction and since we werent paying for either rental ourselves, we decided to just let it go. But I would highly recommend that a non-smoking and no pets policy be enforced. Or at the very least, clean the cars as customers could be allergic to certain types of pet hair.
The crew here amaze me, my family n I are waiting patiently while the manager n her assistant takes care customers upfront n running back n forth to clean out cars. The 2 ladies I think works full time n does the work of a bigger store n location. The young lady explain everything to me n all the options. I got into n accident me n the family was fine n the van was not. Im so glad I choose the coverage because I paid for none of it . Thank u etown crew you rock .

I called to pick me up for my car. It was set up by my insurance company claim office. They said they had no cars. Did not except any returns all weekend. I think they should have called me and the claim office. But she did call me back and they had a car turned in early. They picked me up brought me to Hertz to do paper work. They said they need money down I would get back on return. Also said tank was full of gas, and they get the gas cheaper. So to return car empty. They would fill it up and take it off my deposit. The thing was when I looked at gauge it was down almost a quarter tank. Im guess Im just glad to get the car. They also said it says my insurance company is suppose to pay for any damage when I return it. But the insurance does not pay and I would be responsible to pay. Wanted to know if I wanted to pay $22.00 dollars a day to cover any damages. I said no.
We rented our car in Virginia and was passing thru Kentucky when we thought we had an issue with the tire pressure. K.D. took the time to show us everything was ok. She went above and beyond. Her customer service was excellent and we were able to continue our trip.
We love the service! The cars are always clean and service is always quick. Monday morning or Friday afternoon they are always on top of things!
Four-day rental was an amazing experience!Rented a new RAV-4 for a trip to New Orleans. VERY good price and amazing service! The car was clean as a whistle and even smelled good! The rental and return were both very simple. The day before, I had rented a car from Elizabethtowns Enterprise, and it was a terrible experience, but Hertz came to the rescue!

Worst experience I’ve ever had with a rental. I had issues with my rental within 8 hours of getting it. Called to speak with someone and once I told them who I was they hung up on me. Staff took it upon themselves to directed the tow I had to bring the car back to Hertz to send it to a tire shop. Very unhappy and would not recommend for anyone.
Worst customer service I have ever received. Both woman who worked there were very rude and nobody ever answered the phone. Would not close the account when we brought the car back because a tire was low and would not let us go put air in it.
Needed car in a pinch, reserved car and picked up within less than an hour. Car was well kept and clean. Everything I needed for the weekend and at a reasonable price. Will use Hertz again in the future.
Cheaper than enterprise, and the attitude of the guy working the desk was much nicer than there. Only reason for the 3 stars was the lady that worked in the backs attitude (assuming the lady in charge) and lack of knowledge apparently. Rented a car for 6 days, and was told I was the only one allowed to drive it, not even my wife, whom we have the same insurance ( was a question from them, but dont all husband and wives??) I would have had to pay an additional 25 dollars per day for her to be able to drive according to her. I asked if I could pay it for the last day so we could share the drive back from Florida. No go, can not do, definitely a problem. But, I was told I could stop by a Hertz on the drive back and add her. I just could not at the beginning. Ok, Ill do it, its right off the road on the way. So the weeks over, I stop in and was greeted by the manager there. I explained what I was told by the lady from Elizabethtown, and he laughed, and said he had never heard such nonsense. As long as we opted to use our personal insurance and not the Hertz insurance, whoever is covered on your insurance is covered on that vehicle you rented. Seems absolutely logical to me. Sorry for the long read, but just letting anyone know in a similar situation to not get caught up in that mess if it really makes difference to you.
Car rental places to me hertz is not perfect I know for fact Im not Ive gave them a hard time and they dont give me a hard time they pretty much put up with my ass so guess what people quit complaining if you dont like them go somewhere else it is that simple they are the one that usually one or two people in the store going out of their way to find cars for you ungrateful dumbasses so if you dont like them go somewhere else I have went here and give them a hard time and complaints because I didnt get my way well you know what I might not got my way all the time but they gave me what I wanted and they gave me what I needed.. I know for a fact they explain you the gas price difference if you choose that option they say it repeatedly in front of me all the customers I know for a fact they repeat constantly so open your ears open your eyes and listen to some of us are guilty we just dont want to admit we just dont hear what they want to say so shut your mouth and listen some of you want satellite radio and all these blah blah blah blah blah blah guess what you need a car to get you from point A to point B quit your whining and be glad that these individuals even gave you a chance to rent from them

We recently rented a Kia sport. The air conditioner stopped working the following day when we were 500 miles from Elizabethtown. We called Ashley in the office who quickly arranged for us to pick up a new vehicle in Wisconsin.

Very rude..booked for seven days. Returned rental and said I was late and owed 300 more. So they said would return money and take out full amount..took out full amount but wanted to wait a week to return money so my account was over drafted. Woman at Hertz act like it was no big deal..I dont have 600 laying in my account so all automatic withdrawal will be bounces because of hertz
Reserved a one way rental. Needed an SUV for all of our bags. Showed up. SUV’s in the lot but we couldn’t have those we had to wait for one specific one to be returned. They offered us a Nissan Sentra for 3 people going on a one way to OHARE with 9 bags. Pitiful. Ended up paying way more to get a same day one way from enterprise.

Terrible, refused to be cooperative at all!!. Insurance company made me try to use them but thank goodness they found another company that was helpful.

I reserved and paid for a Compact car on the Hertz website, but when I went to the Elizabethtown location to pick up the car, the agent tried to give me a sub-compact car. He insisted that the model WAS Hertz compact size, so I showed him the Hertz website where the car he was trying to give me was clearly listed as a sub-compact.He told me he couldnt do anything about it - that the manager would have to approve me getting a Compact car, but when he tried to call the manager, he could not reach her.I refused to accept the sub-compact car so the agent charged me EXTRA for the car I had already reserved and paid for online! (This is called Bait and Switch and is against the law, by the way).I wrote a complaint to the Elizabethtown location and to the Hertz Corporation. Neither ever contacted me.My advice: RUN from Hertz in Elizabethtown and go to Enterprise instead.
Its wonderful how they claim to offer the service of we will pick you up or drop off a car to you and they refuse to do it!

Ashley and her team at Hertz, Elizabethtown, KY once again came through with flying colors. Headed out of state and a tire leak appeared. They had me back on the road in the car of my choice in less than 15 minutes.

I will never go through or recommend Hertz to anyone. They have over drawn my acct for things that they never told me about and I never got a copy of my rental agreement to prove they didnt state things to me at all. Im livid this place should be shut down!
