I usually go to this gym weekdays in the early morning, recently however, I began to also go in the mornings on the weekends. What a terrible difference. The weekend employees can’t seem to be bothered to acknowledge their customers at all, not even eye contact when entering and scanning your membership. Hopefully you like whatever music they’re playing, because no matter how loud your headphones are, you won’t hear your playlist over what they are blaring. I love all kinds of music, but I don’t think I should have to blow my eardrums to try and hear my music over what the employee of the day chooses. I’m also wondering why there are “Jesus Loves You” cards on restaurant takeout menus left on top of each of the weight machines. Maybe the person soliciting, whatever it is that day, at a table set up by the front door knows why. Still, it’s a gym, where else are you going to go? It’s like your weird uncle’s garage. Hot, incomplete paint job on the walls, holes in the walls from make shift plumbing repairs, TVs that never work, and mysterious unlabeled spray bottles all over the place. Let’s not disregard the fact that the employees feel exempt from the county’s face covering mandate, no employee wears a mask. I guess while they are staring at a computer screen it is considered actively exercising or eating and drinking? I’ve always enjoyed coming here early morning on weekdays, these weekend experiences are a joke and make me seriously consider my membership to this place. Please apply some standards and exercise a little bit of staff training, it will go along ways.
Would be nice if this business maintained the facility. Machines (specifically weight room) need maintenance to include realignment, oiling, tightening. The paper towel dispensers are routinely broken and of out of paper towels. These observations are over a several month window. Additionally, I have informed the front desk many times.
This is my gym : )People are nice and the staff get to know the membersPlace is cleanOnly wish they added a few more paper towel dispensers in more strategic places. Also need to buy more attachments (like ropes, vgrips etc) for the cable pulley machines. They have added two more machines in different areas and members are always moving them around
Hot, no space, dirty bathroom and so on…Not educated, you have a membership concern, good luck. Paying annual fees twice in less than 3 months of arriving there which makes no sense. They have crazy fees( cheap is never cheap). Late fees, blue fees, lights fees… Check your bank account because they are always changing their policy and not informing members. Not even a head up, What are phone numbers for? SAD.Rather drive 20min to trust worthy people.
Facilities are dirty. Gloomy and very old. Plastic casing on machines is torn/worn!You must die (per management) to get out of the contract. Moving out of state does not qualify as a good enough reason to cancel membership without being penalized. My husband got stationed (army) elsewhere and because I didnt have recent orders of relocating (PCS) I was still was penalized for canceling membership.
I find the staff is incredibly rude. Even the smallest question seems to trigger them into providing mediocre service. At least Planet Fitness has nicer staff...
Nice gym they remodeled it because of covid so currently they are utilizing their space for the basketball gym for free weights instead. They have all your basic equipment and cardio machines, and just recently this past year added a turf area with the monkey bars and punching bags. Not the best EP FITNESS facility in terms of TOTAL space compared to other facilities as gyms can easily get packed when everyone gets off their job but definitely got everything you need. They offer extra classes as well like cycling and Zumba I believe.
Good equipment but it’s uncomfortably hot lately, especially in the old basketball court room that got remodeled. If you’re going to remodel the gym at the very least implement good ventilation in the entire gym. Another con is the music they play is AWFUL. Whoever is in charge of the music station needs to be told something. Same repetitive music you hear on generic local radio stations, so make sure you bring headphones.
I thoroughly enjoy this gym. There is SOOOOO many different machines, squat racks, Smith machines a bunch of free weights, and a HUGE cardio room. Highly recommend. The staff is very nice even at 430 in the AM.
I’ve been a member for years, everything was fine until now that they moved all the free weights to the basketball court. It’s HOT, the lightning is horrible, not enough mirrors. The dumbbells are all over the place, the barbells are bend. It was better before.
I just started my membership with this gym, and Im already experiencing bad service. I got charged a late fee, apparently they got my billing information wrong so they could not charge my account, then I called and they said they would waive the fee off and give a month for free I was like ok, well come today I did get charged the late fee and the month fee! I went to the gym spoke with the manager named Mike and I could not get a refund so my account was credited for the next 2 months since I have the basic plan. Im really hoping I can have an awesome experience with this gym I want to really take my physique to the next level and I hope they can help me achieve my goal. I start working out again next week coming back from injury so I will update my review.
Always come to this gym whens I am in town. Its perfect never too busy.
Its always busy no matter what time of day you go. And that makes it hard to lift weights if you only have a certain amount of time. There is a lot of cardio machines and no ones is ever hack there using those.
$10 you’d think it’s a bargain?! Til you experience the bad customer service, the “late” fees! Not to mention the act of Congress needed to cancel the membership. No wonder some are selling memberships half the price. Id much rather drive further and still pay more than stepping in here. To my military, strongly suggest staying on free on post gyms. Do I have to mention the male and female bathrooms!?
Thank you guys for all of this information. I was Completely baffled on there 3.7 review. Since they have been open for 7 plus years why would they have only that many stars lol You guys probably need new management as a whole. Looks like im taking my business some place else.
A diamond in the rough! There is a elderly lady that wears a headband who is the kindest. There’s enough equipment. The only downside is no TVs except the cardio room & no pool.
I love this gym! They offer free weights, machines, cardio room, fitness classes, and tanning. The staff is friendly and helpful. The only thing is that at nights it gets crazy busy. Most of the free weights will be gone etc. So just make sure to go at good times if you want more space. Also, sometimes its a little dirty. I try to wipe down the machines before I use them as well. Overall a great place to workout.
In the mornings its never full so its all you could ask for at least from my standpoint.
Great place love the place very clean great service
Super stocked gym, lots of space, everything you would want in a gym.
This gym is decent. You can ask three different people about gym membership and they all will give you different prices depending on how they feel. Warning they always steal another months pay after the contract ends.
Customer service is horrible!!! There money hungry... all they care is your money!!!
This is the first gym I’ve ever checked out that doesn’t allow you to trial their facility a time or two before you actually sign a contract. To me that’s like buying a car without the test drive. Why would someone want to sign a year contract without testing it out first? Secondly, I spoke to a manager over the phone she was very polite and was able to give me the rates. When I actually went into the facility the rates I was offered were completely different and a lot more. I let the guy talk not saying anything about the conversation I had over the phone in which he continually went back to his manager to see what kind of deals he could get me. Still with all the deals it wasn’t equivalent to what she offered me and I said I would have to speak with my husband. He was very pushy about it all stating that this rate deal would not be available the following day. I then told him I was offered a way better deal over the phone with his said manager just a few days prior. I don’t have time for games and honestly I feel like it’s bad business. The gym had decent looking equipment but the kids corner definitely looked like it could use some work. Unfortunately my visit left a not so good taste in my mouth and I am choosing to go elsewhere.
Very nice. Good selection of equipment.
Have a good variety of Equipment to include free weight, also very clean, and has a very friendly environment.
I have been going there since it opened. The eye candy is usually plentiful, no one bothers you, do your own thing. All the extra classes are well done, only $2.00 for spin glass. No one judges as far as I can tell (except for those conscience of themselves and paranoid). Your there, more power to YOU!! Work out. . .
Its a gym full of very good equipment and has child care. The reason it only gets three stars is due to the lack of cleanliness. The paper towel dispensers that are used to wipe down the equipment always seem to be empty so you have to walk clear across the gym to get paper towels. It would be a 5 star if it was kept cleaner and if one of the ladies in the daycare area actually acknowledged you. However, there is a very polite and friendly girl in the daycare areas who my kids love. I need to catch her name so I can acknowledge her professionalism. So I appreciate her.
We joined about one month ago and were told they not longer offered family memberships even though their website still shows they do. So my husband and I signed up separately and I added my daughter to my membership to use the child care. I was told if I wanted to add my other 2 kids it would be $5 each for them. 2 weeks later I call to ask about adding them onto my membership and the person I talked to who claimed to be the assistant manager told me the policy had “just changed” and that it was $10 per kid. Well obviously I’m not paying more for childcare than my actual membership so I asked about cancelling, then all the sudden he could add them on for me for $5 each like I was told. I went in today to ask for that to be honored and was told no. I will no longer be returning to this facility. I strongly believe that they will try to charge you what they want and if you shy away then they offer you a “deal.” The child care room is huge but with very little appeal to kids. The staff in the child care room are very nice, however. My daughter loved them.
Came here with my husband to look into signing up for a membership. We had a good feeling about the place when we first walked in as well as with the front desk girl who showed us around. However, when the assistant manager came into the office to talk about prices the positive feeling we had of this place disappeared. She was overly pushy about signing up, and when we said we wanted more time to think about signing up (which does seem like a big decision since you sign a contract for a year), she told us we couldn’t take any of the papers with information to think about our decision. Very unprofessional and disappointing experience. We will not be signing up.
Paula (the manager) was incredibly rude right off the bat when I expressed concern over EP Fitness making unauthorized charges on my bank account for a membership I did not renew or use. Zero customer service skills whatsoever. She told me to quote “chill out or get out” after getting frustrated over a back and forth argument with her. This has happened to me before, except last time I had cancelled the membership, even closed out my bank account and after an entire year went by they somehow got my new card information and began charging me again. And it wasn’t just the annual fee, but the membership fee was deducted twice along with other small charges spread throughout the month. In that situation, I had to file a fraud report through my bank. YOU CANNOT GET THROUGH TO COOPERATE OFFICE, don’t bother calling. And forget trying to ask for a refund, YOU’LL NEVER SEE IT. And if you do, you will have to fight tooth and nail to get these people to do right by you. THIS IS A FRAUDULENT COMPANY. And I urged members to check their statements for irregularities. Customer service is lower than poor, it’s nonexistent. And when I did have the membership, the facilities where mediocre at best with several cardio machines faulty or broken. Not worth it, don’t do it.
Very clean, enjoyed the environment
Employees including manager are rude. No smiles. Everyone is always on their phones instead of acknowledging people no customer service from employees
The gym itself is nice as they have multiple facilities that come with the membership. The down side is that they will charge your bank account, claim that the charge was declined, then charge you an additional 25 dollar fee. Even after showing them my bank statement proving that the charges went through, they still kept saying I owed a balance. I have been a member since March and have paid a total of 297.91 and they still are telling me I owe another 52.00. Monthly membership is only 32.48. Multiple that by April, May, June, and July and it totals 129.92 plus the initial membership fees of 70.00 on the 1st of March, and another 43.00 on the 8th of March and the total is 242.92. Adding in the fee that they charged for a false return payment claim of 25.00 and it is still 267.92. They continue to claim the charges never went through, but my bank account says different. So I have still paid more than they should have taken even if a payment had been declined. Yet they still say I owe an additional 50.00 plus? Each time I ask about an extra charge during any month, I am told its the annual fee. Where I went to school, the word annual means yearly, not every three months. I know a few people including a local business owner that stopped going to EP Fitness because they will take extra money from your account, while coming up with reasons as to why they took it automatically. The first time they did this to me, I let it go, but I refuse to allow it to happen again and accept it. My advice, go to one of the smaller named gyms around town and avoid being robbed.
Place is good but I noticed that the Northeast location has alot of non working machines vs the other locations that Ive been to. Always a great workout staff is always nice and there to help. Theyve got classes and basketball court which is awesome!
Great gym. Their equipment is being upgraded plus its clean and friendly staff. Lots of equipment.
The only reason I am rating it 2 stars is because I HATE the kids corner. I really think they need to put more focus on it. The ladys are very nice but it doesnt seem very sanitary and they dont have a lot of things for the little little kids to do. I think they should focus a little more on making the kids corner a place that people wouldnt mind leaving their kids and know they will be well taken care of. I do love the classes though! Some teachers only talk in Spanish and that I dont like but some are very nice and give a good workout.
It would be nice if they could mop and clean the floor in the cycling room you can see the spots of sweat
Always smells clean the equipment is for the most part always functional. Tons of cardio machines in a totally separate room. Depending on time of day you will be waiting for a machine or a bench. The main bathrooms toilet seats could use a replacement over all not a bad gym.
This gym is great. The staff is professional attentive and knows how to do their jobsThe gym is clean and well taken care of. The people are respectful.
This gym obviously doesnt care about military. Tried to get in with my family with a visitor pass. I was denied cause only local residents with a calid texas ID can only use the pass. I am military, i have a TN license, i explained my issue and was still denied. I will make sure that my family and friends go somewhere else that actually care about military personnel and their families.
I love this place, they are friendly and have everything I need to loose weight.
My go to gym here in El Paso. Great environment the membership wasnt priced bad at all and they have everything you need classes and all. Equipment could use a bit of an upgrade but for what its worth its a great gym. Would definitely recommend a visit to get your pump or cardio in.
Attention military, dont use this place. I paid for a one year membership. Got deployed, provided orders, they would not even contact me or send refund. When I signed the staff assured me they took care of the military that deployed and would provide refund. Complete SCAM and lies from the staff. Been to many gyms in my life and this one is not worth the time.
Manager who signed me up said the group fitness room is available for use as long as there are no fitness classes happening. Normally don’t have any issues until today when a trainer, Elena, went in there and blasted her crappy playlist over the loud speakers in the group fitness room. I politely asked her to turn it down just a tad (it was REALLY loud). She turned it down, then walked over and turned it right back up again. I politely asked her again to turn it down. This time she said no, she’s a personal trainer and needs the loud music for her client. I’ve hired a lot of persona trainers myself, and not one of them has ever blasted music that loud during my session. How would I hear them instruct me through my workout? On my way out, I asked to speak to a manager, who was not in. The girl at the front desk, Cassandra, basically told me that personal trainers have priority and I technically should have had to leave the GIANT fitness room once the session started — even if I was in there first and midway through my workout when they started. I explained that I didn’t want her to turn off her (crappy) music, I just politely asked that she be CONSIDERATE of the other PAYING CUSTOMERS in there and turn it *down. Nope. Again, they said the trainer has priority. I explained that it’s really terrible customer service to openly tell me that some clients are more important than others. She basically shrugged her shoulders and said, “Yeah.” This could have easily been solved by simply asking the trainer to be considerate of *EVERYONE. Thanks EP Fitness, for reminding me how much you suck, and why I canceled my membership with you guys in the past.
Ep fitness robbed me. I paid for the whole year in advance. My job required me to leave the state for a few months so I went into the location and requested to freeze my account. Few months later I get a text messages asking if I want to renew my membership when my membership should’ve been frozen. Trying to contact their corporate office is ridiculous. The manager Laura at the transmountain location did not return my call. To be completely honest with you every person I spoke to seemed like they had no idea what was going on. It sucks but I guess I’ll have to just take the L!
Nice quiet well kept gym. Able to get thru my workout. Great patrons. Very friendly.
The only reason Im still a member is because Im stuck in a contract and my daughter enjoys the daycare. The equipment is not well maintained, like another poster said you bring your own towels or share sweaty used ones to sanitize the equipment. I have 5 months left in my contract, I wont be renewing.
Dont get into a contract with them!!! Youll fight tooth and nail trying to cancel! Plus they wanna charge you all kinds of fees!!! Not worth the hassle!
They operate at the expense of the surrounding neighborhoods health. Waking the neighborhood up at 4:30 in the morning by keeping their doors open with the loud music and yelling. My kids are suffering in school because of lack of sleep. My wife is suffering at work because of lack of sleep. And when you call and ask nicely if they can just please close the door to the building they get rude and tell you they are exempt from noise laws because they are a business. A health business operating at the expense of other peoples health. Wow!!!!!
Good prices and pleasant employees and people
If I could give them no stars, I would. My husband an I were LIED to today by a manager, stating that these gyms would be open from 0430-0000 EVERY day. We are active duty military and needed a gym less crowded we could go to before and after work. The manager gave us a deal, then lied about the hours when I asked. If you are competing in ANY type of competition regarding NPC, then you understand how crucial every single workout is up until show day. Very disappointed.
Great place to get your sweat on! Good equipment and friendly staff
Excellent session!🤘
Great service great atmosphere plenty of space machines weights and areas the music is also hype for working out its also very clean good lighting several restrooms
Poorly ran environment dont follow policies or procedures. Weights are constantly being thrown on the floor and staff could care less of what members prefer like what is on the televisions in the cardio area. So disappointed they started out beautifully but are going down terribly.
The gym isnt clean . Hardly anyone wipes down the equipment. There are weights on the floor paper towels even a bandaid . The weights arent re-racked . No soap in the bathroom. Disgusting! Been a member since October Ill be searching for a new gym as soon as my year is up
It’s an alright gym. I primarily go to play basketball. I’m always disappointed when I step on the court because it never seems to be clean. If they fix that then it would be better.
Great gym a bit full but still great gym
Awesome staff!!! Shots out to the daycare team!!!
Its nice on the inside and the equipment is well taken care of. The only problem I have is the cost and the fact that they charge you another month later to cancel. They say it takes a month to process it. Honestly, thats shady business practice. And they hook you by sounding like a car salesman throwing all kinds of motivation and rhetoric almost feeling like you bought a car you never considered getting. It doesnt help that they receive a commission from how much they charge you with the discount, affordable, or savings buzz words. If thats not a problem, then have fun at an overpriced gym with terrible hours of operation. Most of the time, youll see a surge of people in January occupying the cardio machines, but they go away around March or April. I just wonder if theyre stuck paying for a contract they no longer want.
Got a 3 month membership 2 weeks prior to the corona lockdown and no action was done to get my money’s worth. “100 dollars for 2 weeks”
Early mornings arent crowded. Just usual. I prefer vs other EP Fitness locations even tho Im not from the NE
Is a ok gym..heater doesnt work in the winter... just be careful when canceling the membership they charge me for an extra month, I couldnt get my refund because either of the supervisorsl didnt know how to do their job, they said they put in a costumer issue ticket for over 3 weeks I didnt heard anything... I decided to let it go, they wasted my time.. ask for receipt when canceling.. and they still charge me the annual fee
Nice clean place with most things needed in a gym.
This place is always a hot mess! They never check bathrooms and weights thrown all over the place.
The Cardio room is a sea of elliptical machines, a few bikes and even less treadmills. Of the few treadmills maybe half of them function fully. Then they dont even bother to label the broken ones. I guess that is so you can get your step workout in, while wasting time trying to find one that works. The weight room is great if youre into the night club thing, except with the lights on. Horrible and loud music with too much cologne in the air. If not for my husbands loyalty to this gym I would be at Planet Fitness where the treadmills work and I can save about $25 a month.
Decent gym, they just need cleaner mens locker rooms/bathrooms.
Amazing day 1 experience, staff was awesome. Explain everything in detail about being a member so I joined. Military pay only $25 a month.
Yesterday May 6th there was a domestic dispute on the floor, you can tell the couple was arguing. EP Fitness Employees walking the floor and nothing was done about it. We are required to wipe down equipment after use, thats not happening, slamming of weights and re-rack weights not being enforced. Too many people texting/selfies etc, slows down patrons reps/sets. We even see EP Fitness employees stop and talking with customers, taking selfies and video etc.
Usually busy, but you dont have to wait long for a machine or bench. Staff is friendly and the other patrons keep to themselves. Theyve got free weights, tons of machines, spinning classes (extra fee), a dedicated cardio room with 6 TVs, full-size basketball court, Smith machines and squat racks, regular benches, tanning included, protein drinks and snacks, full locker rooms (mens and womens), and a child daycare. They had music playing in the weight room too.
The atmosphere in the gym is not very comfortable. They play hardcore rap and no one cleans the machines when they are done with them. Many machines were broken.
If people could work out more and take less pics in the mirror.. I would of have it 5 stars . But I vant get the full experience because half the equipment is taken up with people posing for IG
They need to open up on time, every morning. Sundays opening is 8 am, at 8:45 still no one here.
Never a lot of people. Everyone minds there own business.
Great place to get a the workout u need at anytime. Never really packed only thing that sucks is some of the people in the gym are rude and hog machines for 30 to 45 min a piece
Ac sucks. Water fountain water is warm. Decent weight selections.
Good standard gym. Could use better music.
No ventilation in weight area. Not even ceiling fans. Body odor gets disgusting.
I have been working out at EP Fitness for 3 years now, first at the Paragon location and now at Transmountain. The Transmountain location is even better than Paragon (no disrespect). Clean, well-lit, tons of equipment, and staffed by friendly people. I dropped my wallet mid-workout and didnt realize it for 45 minutes, and one of the members turned it in to the office, all the cash still in it. Not only is this the best gym, but the best people train here.
Leaks coming down from the place. Smells terrible absolutely worst gym ever. Staff really needs to maintain the gym.
Ive been a member since 2010, its really clean but needs a better maintenance crew!!
Very impressed with the amount of work out equipment and cleanliness of this facility and the friendliness and professionalism of the employees.
If I could rate this zero stars I would. First of all for some reason or another they cant even begin to discuss pricing over the phone. They cant even tell you why they cant talk about pricing. I was told I have to schedule an appointment in order to even get any information about this gym. I work in law enforcement and I work all night and sleep all day. The last thing I want to do after a 12 hour shift is get fed some bs that could easily be conveyed over the phone. I am absolutely comfortable taking my business else where since it is so hard to talk like an adult over the phone. Congratulations for the total let down and the complete waste of time youve taken from me and other customers.
Gym equipment is highly outdated. They added a few new excercise machines, but I have been waiting a while so they can “bolt down” combo exercise machine, we’ll see when that happens “do not use sign”.... Manger unsure EP fitness policies especially regarding why you can’t leave a gym bag or back on the floor while working out.... it’s literally packed all times of the day, prepare to wait for excercise equipment. It’s unfortunate they closed down ROCA fitness in the northeast, that was the only reason why I joined the membership program. I’m just counting my days down until my membership ends so I can change gym memberships. It’s sad and disgusting”..
Decent gym . The facility needs to get new equipment and fix the Water fountains .
Went to check this gym..Love it they got military discounts. And they got Zumba classes, yoga classes,& theyre starting MMA kick boxing...Northeast...They gave me 3 day pass to go check it out...Im going to try it....
On the 30th of September 2018 I cancelled my membership. I was charged $43.29 for the canellation fee and $38.96 for the month of October 2018. I was assured that my account would not be charged again for the month of October 2018. On the 2nd of October, you guessed it my account was charged a payment of $38.96. I went to the NE EP fitness to speak to a manager (Laura), who assured me that I would be reimbursed my $38.96 within three weeks. She also advised me that she would call me later on that day or the next day after contacting coporate office to see if they could give me my reimbursemet early, I never received a return call. I just came back from the NE EP Fitness and now I am being told, after my membership expires it will take three more weeks to receive my money. That the other manager did not know their policy. NOR would they furnish me with coporate managers phone number. DONT JOIN EP Fitness in the NE. Quick to access my account but SLOW to correct their mistake.
Jannet is the best from customer service to checking how was your day LOVE the kids corner staff in the Transmountain Gym
Good amount of machines. Good hours. My favorite place.
This gym is joke, fans never on Ac not working, no soap in the bathrooms, paper dispensers allways out never refilled, trash cans allways full, rude staff, I been 2 months this gym and I allready hate it... I will cancel soon.
Good place to work out. Not up to the Pellicano or Saul Klienfeld levels. But its pretty good.
Great work out... Gets packed sometimes.
This past weekend I got a txt message saying they were closing the gym as of today. A txt message very Unprofessional in my opinion. My husband has orders because we are PCSing and under the Servicemembers Civil Relief Act (SCRA) Im allowed to cancel my gym membership but the gym will not allow me to because my name is not on the orders, but it says dependents and I showed him my ID and they still will not allow me.
The best ep fitness Ive been to. Everyone is courteous with each other, no one hogs the equipment and the staff is friendly.
Has eveything u need
Very good service with a good amount of equipment to help change and navigate your life
At first I was excited about the gym AND the Roca Fitness down the street (Northeast), but since they closed Roca its overcrowded. Our workouts are sub par because we cant get the equipment we need due to a crowded gym. And some guy who claimed he was the owner told my husband he wasnt allowed to use chalk but we were told by a young woman that it was allowed. Its not posted on the walls, you can see chalk being used, NOR is it in the contract as the apparent owner retorted. Get your facts straight! And it was a big mistake closing Roca! The more we go, the more Im dissapointed.
Very clean
Close to my house and not such a hassle, only problem like any other gym is: weights in the floor, people hugging machines, no cleaning supplies, missing equipment, staff is very distracted and they could install wi-fi.
