Resident temporarily untill I receive a VASH Voucher

It is great location of country ranch style housing but to far from the city to meet my needs.

Current Resident at this time 8/17/21

They play psychological games designed to tear away at your self respect. They want you less assertive of your rights in order to control you easier.I lived there for a couple months then told the director, Jeff, that I would rather go back to living in my car.I wrote an email about this to the providers of this program, Volunteers of America with no response.Shame on volunteers of America for knowingly allowing this place to treat veterans like this just so they can use as little of the money the VA gives them to take care of the vets!Disgusting disrespect for the ones who they are charged to serve.

Great place for veterans who need help in finding housing and Jobs. The Staff consist of Veterans who truly care about helping fellow veterans. Thank God for VOA Hawley House.

Excellent Veterans services partner program, tied in with VA Recovery, Housing and Employment programs = SSFVS and HVRP.

It a place to help me out with a problem nice place to live

This is V.O.A.s facility for Veterans transitional housing (temporary housing for homeless veterans), where a vet can stay for up to 2 years while he makes long term arrangement thru employment or disability - which can and typically does take longer than 2 years, unfortunately.This facility was one of the best that I have stayed at. Maybe its the location - as opposed to being right in the midst of downtown of a major metropolitan (or even that of Palm Springs, which is 1 of the places I stayed). It is very laid back, compared to the staff of all the other places. Or, maybe that was because I came here with my disability already approved - and a section 8 voucher, and maybe they didnt expect that much from me, since I just needed a roof to stay under while I was apartment hunting. But, it seems like the other fellow veterans felt the same way as well. They still do expect their clientelle to follow-thru with their case plan, but all the other places were very hard core, and I felt more like I was back in training (not even active duty) rather than a disabled V*E*T*E*R*A*N (in other words, someone who already served their time).

Its nice.
