WORST ESTABLISHMENT EVER, WARNING STAY AWAY. Prepaid for a truck rental 3 weeks in advance. They never had a truck for me. That same day, they ripped off a lot of other people. Didnt have the cars they booked. Requested a refund, takes 7-10 business days. Stay away from this place! Updated this message 4/12/2021: Been longer than 10 business days, still cant get my refund. On the phone with customer service again. Stay away from this place. Dishonest & will rip you off

Pretty efficient, but no longer located at the dealership site. Must get Lyft ride to and from Hertz. Rental agencies low on cars due to Covid, so no selection. I ended up with a Mustang. Ride was not as hard as in the old Mustangs and the seats were easy to get in and out of. I just fractured my back so this is important to me.

No ability to return vehicle out of restrictive business hours of 8am -5pm.I was stuck with the vehicle for an extra day and had to pay for it because this agency doesn’t have a key drop box.Subpar rental agency with restrictive and inconvenient hours.

Im not too sure what this guys name is but he’s fat and rude. He needs to chill and treat people with respect. I called just to get a receipt and he was being so rude! He was speaking to me like if I only had one functional brain cell. Spencer is super nice and patient. Just avoid coming here!

Recently the engine in my car blew up luckily its a Kia and they replace the engine for free, so they go through Hertz rent a car to rent their cars I currently still have the 2020 Nissan Altima and I love the car its amazing. I love it so much Ive decided that if I want a new car Im going to buy that one its got everything I want. Hertz staff is amazing.

AVOID THE EL CAJON LOCATION, WHOMEVER MADE ED THE MANAGER SHOULD BE RELIEVED OF THEIR POSITION BECAUSE ED THINKS HE CAN BULLY PEOPLE WITH HIS POSITION & MAKE UP HIS OWN POLICY. Bad location and in honest staff and management they are very bad I call them one month before my trip start to go big bear with family they promise to gave me in suv car for 8 passengers and I want check with them a week before my trip to make sure everything is ok and get the right car they show me the car also the say all good to go don’t worry.what happened is they call me and Apologise me the day before my trip and saying sorry we don’t have the car for you we rent out all the suv and dont come tomorrow for pick and they make me los my Hotel Reservation.My advice to all customers no body need to trust the people

Had a reservation for noon. Apparently they also closed at noon. They never told me that they closed at this time, and they allowed the reservation to be made. I walked in and the lady at the desk immediately rejected me before I could say anything. I told her I had a reservation at noon. She responded with an attitude saying they closed at noon and refused to serve me. She wasnt even apologetic. Terrible business practice.

BEWARE!! I WISH I READ REVIEWS FIRST....I always use enterprise but was qouted a better price with Hertz. I specifically requested a vehicle that doesnt smell like cigarettes and they sprayed something to disguise the smell, which lasted 30 min into my 5 hour drive. On top of that vehicle was not clean at all and when we brought it back they charged an additional $30 for fees they could not waive. When you say a price includes taxes and fees and then change the price that is so wrong!! Enterprise has NEVER did this and they always make up for it if there are mistakes made. I will never be back. The manager Ed and his associate had such horrible customer service.

They have no shame what so ever!!!! They wanted to charge us for gas money that was filled by another customer who was returning the SUV that they only had which was bigger than what we were equivaled to get by the insurance.It happened in front of me and my wife when that customer asked us if we mind paying him for the gas that he just filled the SUV before deciding to return it back for whatever his reason was. They gave him a voucher of $50 and they wanted to charge us $80 upon returning that SUV with quarter tank as they stated when we got it.My wife argued with Eric who was the employer who asked her in a very condescending tone Havent you ever rented a car before? and she refused to pay that amount and decided to return the car at another location where the employee was shocked about this act. After all that, they still charged $25 on our security deposit.Be sure not to fall in the same scam that they do.

Reasons I wont be using or recommending Hertz:1) Business opened late.2) Watched manager blamed the corporation why he couldnt provide the promised service to customer. This is the first time and first experience with Hertz. Not a good start.3) After dropping off vehicle @ agreed upon time & location in dropbox. I received bill 3x the agreed amount with different location on return!4) Customer service sounded annoyed, unfriendly, and quick to say something to get me off phone. Long day? Stressed???5) Checked CC company, no action looked to have been taken as of yet even though Hertz claimed the action was done. (reversing charges/refunding overcharged amount)6) Didnt have car available that said would be on site registration, though disappointing, not a deal breaker.This was a one way rental. I will not be using Hertz when I return. Even if theyre the most reasonable.The car was clean, drove nicely, semi comfortable for the long journey, and had great gas mileage! Happy about that!

Will rent all cars through Hertz! Best cars, best people, perfect rental! Hertz saved our trip Expedia suggested a Discounted car rental who then wouldnt refund our money after they disclosed we couldnt use the car to drive out of state, Hertz saved the day! Hertz had no hidden agendas! Professional! Friendly! Simply the best!

Nice car, great rates and helpful, courteous staff. The lack of the fifth star has more to do with, what seems to be, a district issue instead of a local office issue and that is they seem to treat this office as if they were a middle child or something.They dont seem to give them enough cars to survive, requiring them to scramble to several other locations across the county to cover the demand. They do their best to keep up, but it seems unnecessary.

I feel like I was had. I only used Hertz because enterprise has going to be delayed thirty minutes. I should have just waited the thirty minutes.Hertz came and picked me up no questions asked. I was promised a free upgrade since I was going to use enterprise. When I got to the office they didnt have a car ready and I didnt get the upgrade. When I mentioned it I just got blank stares.There was no walk through done to discuss the car and any prior damage. It had a lot of scratches for being brand new and really nice. After thirty minutes of being cleaned there was still dog hair and glitter in the interior of the car.Today Im also learning that all that talk about my insurance picking up the bill directly was exactly that just talk. That should have been the nail in the coffin for me. Dont make the same mistake! Make sure your insurance works with Hertz!I would not recommend this place to my worst enemies.

So disappointed. Expect to wait in line. They answered the phone twice WHILE bringing up my appointment and I had to wait till the people on the phone were done. They kept telling people and me who had reservations and confirmation numbers they had no cars. Little to be hold, the cars came in, have to wait for them to be cleaned and back out they went. If you reserve a car, you better HAVE the car. I was also told the insurance company was going to be sent the invoice. NOT TRUE. I set the appointment up a week in advance and was told Hertz would bill them. Its not the case at all. I basically wasted my time. Nobody communicated with the insurance company like I was told. Nobody called me to let me know there was an issue before I got to the location.

Prepaid for rental with debit card... they have money, turned down cuz of credit. I dont have credit cards I have no debts Ima Dave Ramsey debt free disciple...Ive used same card at enterprise and no problem... needed car to drive to step sons memorial...Id give them zero stars. Whats worse is they wont refund my money for 7 business days or Id be at enterprise right now. Sorry, Hertz... NEVER AGAIN...

Under staffed. Not many cars. They use Lyft for customer rides. Their app went down and they got too busy to drive me to get my car from the shop. I had to call a cab. No reimbursement. Ill stick with Enterprise next time.

I am a regular Hertz customer. This location is horrible. They make you wait and the store was not manned at all when I came to return. Had to wait 30 minutes. Then they added bogus surcharges— and refused to give a proper invoice.

The new guy sucks, hes super slow and too thorough with the job. The last guy that worked there was fantastic, I was in and out in 10 minutes. Now expect to wait atleast 1hr especially if people are in line ahead of you.

My first time renting from Hertz. I went to the el cajon location on arnel street, its a small business in a shopping center....despite that, parking was not a problem.Very easy process, both reps (pick up and drop off) took care of everything quickly.... and I needed a ride back to the repair shop and the rep. Who helped during return gave me a ride as soon as paperwork was done (didnt have to wait!)Very easy due to staff taking care of everything, was all done in a timely manner, and the staff was very friendly and personable.... based off of this experience, I would definitely recommend Hertz (of el cajon) to anyone needing a rental!

There was a small hiccup with turning the car in, apparently with Hertz if the location that you pick up accidently adds an extra coverage like gas, they are the only ones who can remove it. The El Cajon office did everything they could help in that process and patiently waited until it was completed.

Had some confusing issues as far as the insurance through them goes, especially since I had to continue to extend my rental due to repairs on my vehicle taking longer than expected. Even so, the customer service was unparallelled and they bent over backwards to help me and rectify the situation.

Take pictures of everything. They charged me 100 dollars for gas that they said I didnt fill up. Luckily Ive been down this road before and documented everything. Took them a month and a half to refund my money. Bad business.
