Ive been going to Pep Boys since they first opened in Edison and there service is still great. I was there to get my car serviced the other day and they were very professional and the customer service was great. I highly recommend this place.

I came in to get an oil change close to closing time and explained I had a long trip ah as of me the following day. The gentleman at the front desk I think his name was Dave, said he could fit me in and get my oil change done today so I was ready for my trip. He not only kept his word but he got me in quickly and got me out quickly. Extremely nice guy and professional service. I don’t usually leave reviews but I had to this time. I’ll Definitely be coming back to this location the next time I need tires or maintenance on my car

Brought my car in for a quick tire replacement and Dave made the process nice and easy. Took roughly 10-15 minutes and I was out back on the road. Definitely will come back if need be

Needed to get my lug nuts replaced to change tire. When brought car to them, they answered all of my questions. They saved me a lot of money by asking me to buy the lug nuts myself. They did the actual replacement for free. Very honest and friendly; would definitely go back for more service.

Went in on 9/10/21 for what I thought was a bad tire from a flat. Dave, the counter person looked at the tire and explained there was nothing wrong with it. After filling with air, we showed me the tire held pressure. All in all, Dave was professional and knowledgeable and was glad to have helped me. I recommend highly and give him 5 star rating. The service at this store is very good! When I have a problem with my wiper and I dont know its length. I went to talk to the front desk customer service. He was kind to help me find out and installed it. Their service is very good. I would say it’s the best place to go for car services in Edison.

I called at the end of the day and spoke with Ronald - they didnt have any appointments left, but he squeezed me in for a flat tire just before they closed. I went to Pep Boys and met with Ronald. I told him about my tire having a nail. He took the car and said come back later to pick up your car. Once I got back he said car is ready and tire fixed. This store really came through for me in the clutch. Had a flat tire early on a Sunday that couldn’t be alleviated with Fix a Flat, and had to wait a long time for a tow truck. Lo and behold, I was able to get my car to this location a half hour before they closed. And instead of trying to hold me off until tomorrow, they replaced my tire immediately. Can’t express my appreciation for this staff enough.

I noticed a nail in my tire mid morning last Saturday. I arrived at Pepboys in a panic, anticipating having to go into work late due to it being a busy Satruday. Dave greeted me when I first walked in and after hearing my problem assured me that he and his team would take care of the issue as quickly as possible. I felt like I hadnt even waited 20 minutes before I was handed back my keys! Super fast and efficient, and with excellent customer service...I know where Im going the next time I need anything!! My oil change was done before the hour was up. They were quick and attentive.

Poor Service Ever!I got a small nail in my tire. They repaired it first time after over two hours wait but two days later, my tire was flat again. When I went there for the second time, they made me to wait for over three hours and told me that the hole on my tire was too big to repair and had to change the whole tire, which was over $180. That is the most absurd thing i have ever heard. It was just a common nail. The worse thing is they did not refund me for the first repair. Be careful that they will over charge you on purpose. Also, during my three-hours wait, I heard the customer service guy yelling at others over phone a couple of times. Will not come again!

Tech stole my WRXs Accessport when I brought the car in for tire install. Not to mention super slow service. Avoid at all cost.

I went over there and they handed me a quote of 3100$ of saying tires, brakes and suspension needs to be fixed. They tried to rip off and thought I would pay 3100$ for that. I went to other store and they mentioned I need to change my brakes only and my tires and suspension were good. I fixed it for 500$ only. They are not honest and trying to sell stuff to customers at high price. Go to other stores if you have time but avoid them

Oh dear sir, I need the contacts of your lawyer! The same situation! I went to this workshop only because my car broke down next to them. They replaced my belt, I paid $ 900 !!!!!!! After a couple of hours, my car overheated. They forgot to remove a piece of the belt, this piece is wound around the engine cooling fan! I brought the car to them, the service manager said that it was not their problem, they were going to make diagnostics for $ 90 again and say how much the repair would cost me! This is some kind of nightmare!

Good parts store. They carry good brands and are generally well stocked. Reasonable, competitive pricing. Adequate free parking. Ive never tried the service department.

Speaking of PepBoys in Edison NJ: Service is decent; Ive never had an issue with their service. They are nice and helpful. Ive never had them try to sell me on something I didnt need. Sometimes they are crowded. Pricing is like any chain auto shop. Best time to go is first thing in the morning. Avoid weekends. Make an appointment.

Came in for flat tire one nail drove into my tire. Drop off at 11, called me at 530 said don’t know why nobody call me but they need me replace all 4 tires, I just replaced all of them a year ago in this location. I picked up my car and found that they just left nail there and didn’t do any work. Waste my all day!

I have so many storieso from denying me service 9 months pregnant because I came in at 830 when they closed 9 .. the worst customer service there the list goes on .

I called to inquire about a discounted set of tires another Pepboys had in stock, 7 miles away. The tires showed up in the other store’s inventory, but not the one closest to me. So for the sake of convenience and to offer them my business, I asked if the tires could either be sent over from the other pepboys or ordered online since they didn’t have any on hand. I provided all the info for my car as well as tire size and even the exact brand and model of the tires I saw on their own website (just different location).The guy tells me that he doesn’t see them in stock or online. I ask if they can be sent over or ordered to this location since they very clearly show up on their own website, just for the store a few miles away. He tells me I can go buy them from them and bring them to this location.Now, the whole point of my call was to avoid having to go to the other location saving me time, and giving my business to the more conveniently located Pepboys. But since the guy was not willing to try to make this happen, I will be going to the other location from now on.I will attach a screenshot of the tires that the guy “couldn’t find” from Pepboys’ own website.

Excellent service and professionalism

I appreciate the guys here helping me get my car onto a U-Haul tow when it was not running. They were fast and efficient! Id however, keep my options open with repair prices and shop around because their quote to repair my car seemed a bit high...they have complimentary Lyft cab service so that is much appreciated! The inside has some chairs to sit in and a tv which makes the time go by a bit faster.

Waited more than 4 hours for tire balancing and alignment. That is with appointment. On top of it they damaged my rim spoke inserts. Extremely disappointed and will not return anymore.My car started making noise when driving after being serviced by Pep Boys last time and this time I took it to Ford dealership just to realize that on last service (that was performed at Pep Boys of Edison) they did not tightened the wheel bolts. I understand some issues may go wrong or unnoticed but to leave wheel bolts not secured - THAT IS LIFE RISK. I dont care about money or call backs from you, I just want to make sure your employees start caring a bit more about importance of safety of customers, since the quality is definitely not your best part.Thank you

Worst guys. never go here. They will not fix the issue you ask for but just replaced whatever was not required. Also so rude that they push the receipt at the end towards me and forcing to pay.

USELESS!! If you value your time dont step foot into this place, I made an appointment and dropped off my car for a simple oil change... Result? Over two hours later, no one touched my car, and they told me it would be another 45 mins to get it done. No, I will take my business elsewhere.

Took a little long for a oil change. Service was good

Changed both my front tires on my aftermarket wheels and a valve stem for 50 bucks (not including tires) on my aftermarket wheels with low profile tires. I was worried they would damage my wheels, but they did a great job. Rob is super helpful and chill, so if you call the service dept, be sure to get in touch with him! Only gripe is that they took about 2.5 hours to change the two tires.

Just go to South Plainfield they are a better location and get results done.

Went for a Brakes repair after review was told I needed a $1400 work up on my car on things I was Coerced was also wrong with my car. Needless to say another establishment got my money at over$1,000 less. I don’t appreciate these type of business trying to rip me off nor take advantage of my pockets. Especially when I live in the neighborhood #disrespectful

I ordered tires from TireAgent and had them shipped since they were a listed installer. Made an appointment at 10am the next day after they were delivered, and when I go to drop off the Jeep they told me itll be a wait, I said no problem I come back at 2pm, and the Jeep is in the same spot I parked. The customer service rep was on his phone and gave an attitude when I asked for my keys back. I had already gave me proof prior when dropping off, and he asked for proof again when I asked for my tires as well. He said hed load them up in the Jeep, once I drove to the back instead they were sat outside, I waited and I ended up loading them up myself. Another service rep was outside, on his phone and watched me load the tires. A simple work job as tires, you thought itd be quick and easy, but the service was terrible. Wouldnt recommend.

TERRIBLE. went in for an oil change ONLY because my mechanic was closed. Ive been very busy and this was just convenience because they are open until 8. All the sudden this morning my car is making noises. NEVER WAS BEFORE. after they tried to make me spend 700 dollars on some nonsense they claimed I needed. Car was fine. Perfectly FINE . now something is wrong. These people will screw with your car thinking you will go back. YEA RIGHT. I have lawyers in my family and I will definitely be looking into this.

Nice place to get the Car serviced and any repairs done.Technicians are well trained and give us a correct advise. I had a good experience visiting here and the Technician handled my case very patiently and gave me the perfect description of the issues and how it could be repaired and whether it is useful doing it or not.I appreciate the service here and trust them that they would not misguide the customers nor cheat them as far as my experience is concerned.The Store is located in such a place that we get ample space to park our Cars.

Do not go here. If I could, I would rate them 0 stars. I brought my car here to be serviced only to have the same problem 1 week later. I made my second appointment and when I arrived I was told they couldn’t see me because the technician was not in. After I told them I confirmed my appointment yesterday, they told me to leave the car and they’ll see what they can do. The technicians are not verified or experienced. There is zero customer service and they charged me $500 more then the dealer (I found later). Save your time and money, and go somewhere else.

There sure is a lot of apologies from “Response from Owner.” This place Was great when Tom and Pete worked there. Now the guys at the counter seem miserable and really don’t want to be there. If you go back with a complaint about a prior repair, good luck with that. They give you a song and a dance and give you lame incoherent reasons why they can’t help you.They put a lot of energy into weaseling out of the customer satisfaction. Basically just want to brush you off and shooe you out the door. Horrible ripoff.

Ok given it was Black Friday and I had a flat tire that needed to be replaced or repaired which ended up being replaced since they could not save the tire. I was there fur over 2 hours.. when I first got there via tow truck they told me that they may or may not get to me.. does not sit to well with anyone especially you have no other means of getting back home. But they managed to fit me in and I was on my way.. it is a good store has a good variety of things from drinks to small auto parts. The customer editing area is right next to the shop so you can hear everything going on inside there. The restrooms are all the way through there warehouse.. and they also had tea and some coffee to choose from while you waited which is nice and you were able to make it yourself and it was not sitting the for hours.

Lynn at the service desk was attentive and really had the best interest of the customer in mind. Saved me hundreds.Jeremy ran a series of tests and checked everything before doing any work. Really appreciate his skill and insight.

My car was back twice Oct 23 & Nov. 2 (back job)same word they told me when i pick up my car that problem was fixed . after driving a week problem was not fix . i check tire pressure they put 50 psi recommended 30psi.. Not a good experience!

Johnny and Francisco really helped me out today. Their parking lot was full of cars waiting and I needed two trailer tires fixed so my working crew could get back home and within 30 minutes they fixed both tires even though they had a 2-3 hour wait time. Johnny and Fransisco deserve a raise or promotions! They really made my day. Best tire repair in the city!

Tried to price gouge me in brake caliper they replaced. Told me 150 when the caliper cost 58. Then took off new caliper I installed instead of old one and tried to keep it and charge me for it when i asked about it. I got it back without charge after they saw i knew their get down. Told me one price then another wjen I questioned. Beware of dishonest mechanics

I was really looking forward to getting new tires at pep boys because of a guy name Robbie who was very nice over the phone. So I went to inquire in about an estimate price and personally talk to Robbie about buying new tires. Anyways I got an estimate over the phone and I was satisfied with the price but of course the labor and other prices were withheld over the phone. Finally, I arrived at pep boys in hope to speaking with Robbie. I arrived and instead a guy named Ray spoke to me and he was incredibly dismissive and rude. I was asking simple questions about the tires and I got a very annoyed vibe from him as if my questions were irrelevant. I was in fact comparing and contrasting other tire prices from other auto bodies. So I found it important to ask as many questions as I needed.Bottomline Ray needs to learn how not to be rude to customers even if I am just asking questions and not buying something on the spot.The good part about pep boys are the varieties of car accessories.

Ray was very knowledgeable about the issues concerning my car. He also displayed excellent customer service and was very polite. I will return to this location to get my car serviced.

These people have no idea what they are doing. Scheduled an oil change for 11am. Called around 2:30pm to see if it was done. Guy told me 4pm it would be done. Car wasnt even on the lift yet. 5 hours for an oil change? I had to cancel. Went in and everyone is just standing around. Another guy at the counter was giving the run around to some poor woman that just got her car serviced there this morning telling her the reason her car was still shaking was not Pep Boys fault. Cool man..fix the thing then. Surprised this place is still open.

Very helpful and friendly employees. Answered all questions straightforward and accurately. Only complaint was they told me one of my outer tie rods needed to be replaced, and the pricing they gave me on that was about $100 more than taking it to the dealership which is crazy. They seem to overcharge, but the service quality etc was great.

1st time here and I needed an oil change and Ariel provided excellent customer service and was very polite and provided me with information about other repairs my car needed for maintenance. As an uber driver, I felt the information he provided was essential to maintain my vehicle for work.

Not professional, the manager gave me a run around story for my gas cap. Had my vehicle for 2 days, never gave me any update on my vehicle. On day 2, I showed up to the store, gas cap was still being waited on. Took my vehicle and had to go back on Saturday. Called and the gas cap had to be picked up, the Manager Ray couldve said that 2 days ago. But instead, he wants to be on his cell phone. Saturday afternoon, the gas cap was picked up by a Pep Boys employee, which couldve been done before Saturday. At the end, it was replaced. Wont go to the Edison location again!

Great guys! Eric had to spend almost 2 hours to change the battery. The final price came more than the initial estimate given but Robbie, Assistant Manager, stick with the initial estimate. Responsible and punctual staff.

Would rate them higher but, I got a flat on way to work and my jack wasnt in car.no garage nearby,and dont have road service. So I called customer service since its6:30 am stores arent open.they sent a tow truck to bring car to nearest store. The truck came 45 min after it was supposed to come, I get there assuming they know Im coming in,all they had to do was take bad tire off and put spare on takes 5min they refused to do it then,has to leave the car was very late for work,and they didnt do it for several hrs. Then was charged more for the tow than what customer service quoted me.

Had 4 sets of tires installed and alignment done here. I feel staff were helpful and respectful. The reason that I took one star off is because when they changed my tires, they did not balance them right which resulted in me having to spend another 2 hours on another day to go and do it. Other than that no complaints.

Just perfect! I was looking for a specific part for my car and I found it at Pep Boys for 50 $ less then the another auto parts shops. I wasnt sure in which Pep Boys store the part would be available, to I check out with the online Chat, the lady called for different stories and made a reservation for me at the Edison unit. Once I arrived there the part was already on the check out box and I just taked it and went home, easy. Great!

Poor poor poor mechanics skills. These dude will try to sell you anything they can. My alternator broke. And they said it was my water pump timing belt. And never said anything about my alternator. And wanted to charge me $1200.00 Got my car back brought my alternator two belts and my car is running again. For $200.00. Never again

I called to install an aftermarket hitch I bought new for my car. The guy on the phone said it was fine as long as it was only a bolt on installation and gave me an appointment. When I showed up another guy told me they did not install aftermarket hitches and was almost forcing me to buy another hitch from them. Really unprofessional.

Horrible horrible horrible...21° walking 15 mnts under freezing temp leaving my car 2.45 pm trusting that theyre working on it at some point. Well called 3 times, they were still waiting for manager call back and see whats happening with the tools in order to fix it.8.35 pm i show up and the car wasnt touch or moved from the parking spot where i parked.NEVER EVER NEVER EVER AGAIN !!!!DISRESPECTFUL & CARELESS FOR CUSTOMERS. Not wonder they have 3 stars on reviews.They lose not one but 3 customers for ever..

Good work on Alignment task

Very poor service. Customer care is below any limit. I am waiting for more than 1,5 hour here already and they promised everything will be done in less than 1 hour. I actually had to remind them about myself. An old bold men at the front desk needs to take some customers service course so he at least now what the customer oriented business is about.

Carrying significantly fewer products on the shopping floor but the selection seems to be a bit more focused. Still a good place for DIY car maintenance.
