I have left 6 messages for Phil, the used car manager, and my sales rep with no call backs. No emails. I would never leave a poor review unless there was no other option.I purchased a used 2018 SUV for $70,000 from this dealer a week and a half ago. Upon arrival the drivers seat was broken. Not a big deal but I drove 2 hours to get to the dealership for this model I wanted and was not able to come back another day to pick up the car fixed so I said I would have it fixed on my own. They were apprehensive of giving me any sort of reimbursement or credit.. Said they wouldnt just write a check to someone else to fix a seat they could fix but havent yet. Upon arriving home we noticed the rear seats were missing their head rests. I called again and again to see if they had them or what could be done. Again.. this wasnt a $5,000 beater it was a $70,000 used car! Still waiting on any sort of response other than the poor girls at the front desk who I am sure are tired of hearing from me. At this point I am at a loss. Speaking to friends who run and manage other dealerships said to leave a review since we arent getting responses any other way! The last call was this morning and the girl absolutely promised she would call me back if no one else did. No response and its 8:20 PM. Not going to hold my breath any longer. Unless something magically happens I will never deal with this company or refer them to anyone with the lack of responses I have got to rectify this situation. Simple fix was swept under the rug.. most likely because its a used car and not a Volvo. (They do have a Cadillac dealership so thats not the issue).
We own a 2011 Volvo model XC60. The radio and blue-tooth phone connection would not work. We took the car to the Open Road Volvo dealership on Route One, in Edison, NJ, to have the radio and blue-tooth phone connection fixed. The service people checked the car and told us that they could not fix these items. They said that there was a charge of $186.59 for checking the connections. They then said that they could perform a more advanced analysis for $412.67. However, they said that if this advanced analysis couldn’t find a solution, a new radio would have to be installed for about $1,636.31.We looked carefully at the radio and found that a CD was installed. We pressed the eject button and removed the CD. Immediately the radio and phone connection worked.We contacted the dealer’s main office and were told by an Open Road Automotive Group representative that their dealership serviced the car correctly. However, in my opinion, it seems that Open Road only wanted us to spend more money and purchase their advanced analysis or even a new radio.At this moment, I have a bad feeling regarding the Open Road Automotive Group. I would never buy a car or repair from them again or any of their dealerships. In my opinion, you should be alert if you attempt to deal with this firm.
Before coming to Open Road Volvo, I visited a few other car dealerships but none of them compared to Open Road Volvo. This was my first time buying a car and Matt was exceptional. He made my experience great and really helped out with everything, very professional. He made sure the price was right and I drove away with my new car within 24 hours! I couldn’t have had a better experience and would definitely recommend Matt for all of your car needs!!
I bought a CPO 2018 XC60 in Sept of 2020. I love my car however right after purchasing the vehicle the rear taillight went out (within a week). There was condensation and water damage. This had to be replaced. This was covered, but was an inconvenience. I hardly drove the car because I used a different car to commute for work and then was home on maternity leave. When I took it to a different Volvo for an oil change I was told I needed new tires and new wipers. I didn’t know how to identify these issues and I trusted in the dealership. It is extremely frustrating to have purchased a “new” car and already have to be replacing these things on a car I didn’t even drive. Very disappointing.
Worked with Matt Klepper and Andy, and they did a fantastic job. We’d tried to work with a few dealerships in the area, but they were difficult to work with.Matt helped us get the car we liked on the Care by Volvo program. The dealership went over and above to ensure our car was delivered on time and as expected. Matt spent all day trying to coordinate our delivery experience and it was worth it.Good salesman can make or break a brand’s reputation. I must say I’m fairly pleased with the Volvo experience.
I was stuck in a car I didn’t like and there were still 2 years remaining on a 3 year lease. I went to several dealerships, lots of promises but no results. Additionally, I was left feeling as though customer service was dead. Until I went to Open Road Volvo of Edison. Each person I met was friendly, informative and quick to offer support. It is then that I met Matt. By far, Matt was the most authentic, knowledgeable and personable sales representative I have ever had. There was no run around. He presented not options, but solutions and now we are now a proud Volvo family. We not only leased 1 but 2 cars. If you need a car, want an honest sales rep who works with you... Matt is your man. I would recommend him to anyone wanting to purchase a Volvo. I had a not so great experience at a different Volvo dealer, who made it feel like we were playing a game, which I didnt appreciate. Dealt with Matt Klepper exclusively by email and some phone before actually meeting him to take possession of the car. Very pleasant and prompt responses. He was able to get to the numbers that worked for me on an S90 and made the conversation/negotiation friendly and not adversarial. I hope my time with the car is as pleasant.
Called them few times to find out about the same car, first 2 times ladies answered, did not even get back to me no follow up, i sent online request no respond, filled up online finance application, no one got back to me, i got my pre-approval from capital one today and i tried my luck again, I spoke to Andy, he did his job he took some additional pictures back and forth i asked for their dealer fee, he came back $3200 in fees, i told him what i can afford montly ( amount still more than their online deal accelerator even with their higher interest rate calculation ) he said his used car manager can only do it if i were agreeging it for another year in term so i told him that i was lookinf for a break from the fees and he came up with another 7gs on top of it with the deal he is trying to offer, i got advised that there is not even new cars at honda (i was not even interested in honda) thats the deal either take it or leave it! I honestly believe that they did everything possible to earn that 1 star!
We worked with Matt and he made the process seamless and easy. When we arrived our car was already prepped and cleaned. As we signed our papers, Matt explained each document clearly and concisely. I can’t recommend Matt enough and the whole Volvo Care experience from signing up online to picking up our vehicle at the dealership was world class.

6 Month ago changed the oil to My 2008, XC70, 5 weeks later message appeared, car needs oil, took my car to service, Robert service manager said my engine is burning oil, I need a new engine and handed me an estmat of $4500.00 of course Ideclined, time came to change the oil 3 month later, went to local Mecanic, changed oil, centric $80, now its time to chang, Iopened the hood and i checked the oil, was so clean, and full to the max mark, that means my engine is fin, not burning oil, right away i knew that Robert and his techs were so dishonest, they probably annoyed to work on a 2008 car, so i took the car October 5th to the delership to change the oil, told robert the full story of what happened, he only replied ok, ok, paid the $133.83, supposity they installed 8 qurts of oil when the engin capasity is 7.7 qurts only, tecnecly they installed only 7 becuse tank was not full to the max mark, called up Sunday, october 19 when i checked oil and found it short, no reply.I delt with this dealership for the past 10 yers, bought 2 cars, they were very different staff and class, never in my life i would even think that dealerships behave this way, what a sham, how would you trsut with your car if you cannot trust with the server who works for the maker of the carNote that every time i get my car serviced handed $20 to srvice person to buy coffe for the techs nxt morning.

DO NOT BUY CARS FROM THIS DEALERSHIP!!! I just recently purchased a Certified Pre-owned Volvo. The salesperson, Barry, seemed like a credible man of good character who turned out to be nothing but a lying snake. I was felt to believe that I got a good deal, when in fact, I paid more than I should have. He stated to me that he couldnt go any lower on the price because he had paid more than what he was selling the SUV for. His reasoning behind this was because they had to make room for incoming inventory. Turned out that the dealership actually lowered all their prices on their vehicles by as much as $1,000.00, some identical to mine, a couple weeks later. It is just morally wrong to deceive a customer like this, knowing full well they couldve sold the SUV for less.The SUV I purchased turned out to have issues with the transmission. I CONTACTED THE DEALERSHIP REGARDING SUCH AND WAS TREATED WORSE THAN A DOG. Its almost like that didnt know me now. They were rude, belligerent, and unprofessional with their yelling and hanging up on me. JUST A BAD, BAD EXPERIENCE. DO NOT RECOMMEND!!! AND DID I MENTIONED THE RIDICULOUSLY HIGH DOCUMENTATION FEE OF $699.00?

I highly recommend this Open Road Volvo Dealer. I had worked with Matthew Klepper who is very diligent / delightful and works so fast. Last week, I had visited in Volvo Ramsey dealer where I had horrible experience and was thinking that I don’t want to to buy Volvo anymore. But after I visited this Open road Volvo today and worked with Matt, I totally changed my mind and purchased my car today. During all paperwork processes and registering insurance, Matt was very helpful and patient and take lots of time to make this happen which I couldn’t get the customer service from Ramsey. All staffs are welcoming to all customers and cannot feel any discrimination. I forgot other guy’s name but he is also so helpful to explain all features of my car. I would like to say that you should visit here Open Road Dealer when you want to buy Volvo. (Don’t ever go to Ramsey unless you want to pay more and feel discrimination). At Open Road, you would feel you are the valuable customer for them and think that it is worth to pay for these customer experience. Five stars are not enough for Matt!

When I walked into Open Road, I was uncertain about whether I wanted to purchase a CPO Volvo XC60 or lease a new one. Matt was my Sales Rep and he went through both options for me and patiently allowed me to test drive several vehicles. We decided on leasing and then I promptly contacted my wife who visited Matt several days later and she leased a new XC60 as well! We are a total Volvo household and that was all due to Matt. I have been driving for 30+ years and hands down, Matt is the absolute best Sales Rep Ive ever had. Professional, smart, kind, pleasant, hard working, and dedicated. He was never pushy, arrogant or any of the negative characteristics sometimes associated with Sales Reps. I cant say enough about the quality of this guy - top notch all the way! We will be Open Road customers for a long time!!!
This is the wrong place for buy a car. I had the worst experience buying an used car from this dealership. My NJ temporary plates expired a week ago and they never send me the registration of the car and the new plates so I cant drive my own car. Nobody there answer calls or respond emails. All the staff members are incompetent and unprofessional. Dont waste your time, definitely I dont recommend this Volvo dealer.
After a bad experience with another Volvo dealership my husband reached out to this one via phone and provided them with all the info of what we were looking for and what we wanted to pay to make sure they even had the inventory and not waste our time.He ended up speaking with Matt, who we ended up doing a deal with. He was knowledgeable and very easy to work with. All the paperwork was done via email and when we went to pick up our car it was fully ready. bright and shiny just waiting for us.We will def be back here and service our car at this location as well.Great job!

This place is a scam. I received emails from Alexis Buono saying she’d match any lease price on any vehicle. I picked out the nicest vehicle and she said absolutely. Transferred to her manager her then said absolutely not, and that Alexis isn’t a salesperson and was just saying that to get me in the store. That’s extremely dishonest! I wouldn’t trust these people.
I recently helped assist my Mother in leasing a new vehicle at Open Road Volvo of Edison. My mother has been a loyal customer for over 13 years with her Volvo, and was time for her to upgrade to a newer vehicle. I felt right away that I was putting her in good hands after I made the appointment for her to come in for a test drive, and that’s all due to our Salesperson Claire!!! Claire was so nice and professional, but mainly just gave off a welcoming and comforting vibe to us. I came solely with the intention of test driving one of their cars, and walked out buying a brand new Volvo. Barry C. was ridiculously helpful and very forthright, he even stayed an hour after they were supposed to close to make sure I was satisfied with the final numbers. It really was an awesome experience and overall it was a pleasure to have worked with all these amazing people.

I worked with Kevin two years ago on a purchase at the Volvo of Edison and it was a great experience. Recently, he worked with me to find the right car for me again! He was very thoughtful of me and remembered where I work, the last deal we made, and other things. It really showed me that he cared about me, the customer. He was pleasant and helpful throughout the entire process. He worked quickly and did things behind the scenes so that the least amount of time was needed to do the required paperwork when I showed up to pick up the car (securing financing and handling the insurance). 10/10 would buy again (and ask for Kevin)!

We have been customers at this place for quite a few years. In general the experiences have been decent, until our recent interaction with dealer Barry. We had the full intention to buy a new car, but Barry was pushy and quick to make a sale. He wouldnt allow us to finish our explanations and rushed out of the room to finalize the deal with his manager. When he returned, we asked for loyalty discount as this is the second Volvo car wed be buying. He got agitated and said he was too busy to deal with us! He actually told us to get out of here! I do not believe we were unreasonable. We drove the car for a little bit and was already sitting down to buy it. The whole process took a little over an hour. Being pushy, he however still seemed frustrated that he couldnt not make a quick sale. He eventually apologized and said the dealership was shorthanded and he had been busy. But this was not our problem. This is not the way to treat any customer.

My concerns were being able to turn it in early and the fact it was was “over miles”.This being said, Rudy the Sales Manager worked some magic to help me execute a fair agreement, addressing my particular needs (which I made very clear), being factual about my situation, while keeping me at a reasonable price point. Very much appreciated!Jason my consultant has the patience of a Saint (Black interior? Brown? I couldn’t decide). He also spent the time to show me all the amazing bells and whistles I would be getting without being overwhelming or making me feel rushed.Jose in Finance, made the tedious but necessary paperwork seamless. He works efficiently and I encourage everyone to ask him about the mangled tire on display in his office!Now…The new S60’s have not been on the market long. After driving mine a day or so I was distressed when an alert light popped up. Enter Kyu, the Service Manager! Kyu immediately responded to me and assured me it was a computer glitch, nothing more. His calm demeanor put me at ease while he arranged for me to come in at MY (not their) convenience to take care of it.I brought it into service, the glitch was addressed, the issue was fully explained to me as I waited, and every single person I mentioned above came over to say hello and get my feedback on the new car.I cant say enough about the Team at Long Motors. They have always made me feel like a valued and appreciated customer, which is why I am a REPEAT customer!

Like a gang group at the middle of a hill, very 1st day the manager pushed us to buy a XC90 at THE moment, when we just test drove for 10 minutes! We felt so pushed by them and not comfortable, maybe this is their tactics to choose customers, but I want to say we both have rights to choose to go on or drop off, I just chose to drop off and block this dealership forever.
Extremely knowledgable and professional team lead by Chris Mazzeo. The second i walked in, i was assigned a sales professional Matthew Klepper. Who was exceptionally professional, showed me all features and options the vehicle had to offer. This is my 7th lease vehicle I have been to many showrooms and dealerships and I have to say the service these guys provide is second to none. I had the best car shopping and buying experience at Volvo Edison. I called and they told me who to ask for for the test drive. I arrived and barely waited and the rep greeted me and knew who I was right away. They let me test three cars ( 2 were the same model and they didn’t mind at all. ).They were organized and straight forward which is surprising for a Saturday on route 1 which Is chaos normally. It also is surprising because they have more help than offices working with you and it gave it a small business feel even though they are obviously selling a lot of cars and for a corporate company.Rudy worked the numbers right in front of me and gave me a deal that I couldn’t refuse. When I changed my kind weeks later he took care of me and got me the car I wanted from a different lot same day.He didn’t complain about the time he spent detailing the other car I had put a deposit down nor did he nitpick my current car and buckle and dime me fore the trade when I decided to trade last minute.

Fantastic experience from the time I drove up to service door to the time I departed dealership. I was immediately greeted by knowledgeable staff member, given an assessment of repair, and estimate time of completion.I was offered coffee while waiting in their immaculate customer service lounge area. I had a very bad experience with the dealership. I contacted them about testing driving a car through email with Khalil and got confirmation the car is available in the morning. I confirmed the appointment at 1:30pm. After drove 45+ minutes and was told the car was sold the day before. When I asked what happened to the email and confirmation, they didnt offer me any explanation. I cant believe they are still using the old trick of bait and switch. Avoid this place to save your time.

I just definitely need to say that was by far my best and easiest car buying experience. I was looking for a 2020 Volvo Xc40 Rdesign in Thunder Gray metallic with some very specific features. After going to and getting hustled by other dealerships a light bulb went off in my head and I decided to call Open Road Volvo. I was connected to a very pleasant sales person name Claire. Claire very intently listened to my wants and my frustrations with the other dealerships and assured me that I wouldnt have the same experiences. Well within minutes Claire told me she had a car that matched the color I wanted with 2 out of the 3 specific features. She went out to the car, took a few pictures, and even sent me a video of the car. I told that her that the other dealership had already given me a specific number and that she had to either match or beat it to earn my business. Well, needless to say she beat it and I ended up canceling my order with the other dealership. The next day, I was picked up and driven to the dealership by one of the product professionals, he was very pleasant and I enjoyed the ride. When we got to the dealership, Claire quickly walked me out and presented my new vehicle. It was time to go see Nick with fiance which is the part I always dread (added fees. Etc...) However, Nick made it very easy and it was very quick and painless process in and out withing 20 mins. In the midst of the Covid-19 Virus, I was able to upgrade my lease for my XC 90 for a 2020 model from my home for a great price. Bought my S60 here. The service was great when we were there even though they were very busy. I had a little trouble getting my license and my second key fob but they were willing to work it out for me and I am satisfied with how they fixed it

Because i live in Manhattan (and due to the pandemicm i couldnt goto Edison), the car was delivered to my home for test drive, which i really appreciated. Terrible experience. They do not return your calls and provide terrible customer service. I ended leasing my Volvo at the Red Bank dealership who provided amazing service and the best possible price. FYI Manny the online sales representative is extremely rude and needs coaching on how to speak with customers. I would highly recommend going somewhere else.

I went to purchase a used vehicle. The salesman AJ and sales manager Rudy did not seem very motivated in selling me the car. It felt like I was trying to sell them a car. I constantly had to call them. After a while I got tired of being ignored (called two days in a row and was promised a call back each day) and they never got back to me. Would not shop here again unless it’s a different salesman.

Claire and Rudy truly made the process of leasing a 2020 Volvo XC40 smooth and easy! Our lease for a 2017 Volvo XC60 T6 Inscription that we got at another dealer was near its end, and they made the transition to our new car seamless and painless. We test drove the 2020 XC60 T6 Inscription and 2020 XC40 T5 Momentum and chose the XC40 as it felt easier to control and maneuver, and we didn’t need the more powerful engine, bigger cargo space, and extra bells and whistles of the T6 Inscription. Claire found us an XC40 in a color we like with high quality leather seats! The XC40 has more than we can ask for and is far more advanced than the 2017 Volvo XC60 we previously drove, incorporating Apple CarPlay, driver profiles, plenty of safety checks, and other great features. Claire and Rudy also allowed us to negotiate for a much better lease price that we wouldn’t mind paying. Claire was very kind and informative, telling us about all the major features in the car and how to navigate the digital menus. Open Road Volvo of Edison also took our old car that we got from another dealer without hassle! I highly recommend this dealership!
Make yourself a favor and take your business to other Volvo dealer, I lease my XC90 there and since day 1 I deal with no other thing than issues. To begin they said that the system was down therefore they could not upgrade the software of the car I called several times during next few weeks and they keep saying that the system wasn’t available, finally I took it to other dealer and in less than 1 hour they updated

Okay let me start by stating that 2 months of research of choosing my next car came to end when I entered this dealership, it was a random visit but it turned out a great car deal for me. It was phony sale speech. I worked with Jason (hands down best car sales person) we just discussed the car. Car was not verified and he worked his magic and got the car certified and got me a huge discount. Rudy the sales manager is great person and went above and beyond to make sure I was happy with the purchase. Made best decision by selecting Volvo as next new car and the whole experience was even better than car itself. Great service guys keep it up.

I had a great sales experience and working with the sales team was one of my best car buying experiences. I have bought many I would know, mostly because I have been leasing for some time. Every thing from Audi, Mercedes, to Volvo once again. I worked personally with Ashley and she was the best, helpful and attentive. By the time I got to the finance department, working with Jose was smooth sailing, knowledgeable and helpful. No hard sell for extra here but willing to work with you to add those helpful extras like tire and wheel protection.
