I really like this gym. Lots of good quality equipment, lots of space. I don’t really care much for the women’s area, the set up feels a bit crowded, so if you like more space (and taking advantage of what you’re paying for), use the main gym area. Im just wondering when they’ll go back to more extended hours, especially on the weekends.. hoping that happens soon.

Organized areas and clean equipment. The staff and trainers are amazing and the classes they offer are worth it! 🙌

Best gym to go clean and always space to do your workout

This gym is super, duper clean! I used to go to Cornerstone, but not sure whats happening over there because it is FILTHY all the time. I started coming to this gym, and I am very impressed at how every time I go there are at least 2 staff members cleaning the floors or the machines. During these times, cleanliness is super important. Cornerstone needs to step it up.

I went to your gym close to me (by Trenton and Jackson Rd)only to request a printed schedule of Zumba classes. The young lady at the counter requested my TRU FIT CARD and I scanned it. She looked at the computer screen and I thinking shes about to print the schedule. But, she was ready to take my temperature with the gun but I gave her my arm instead. I dont want having my temperature taken with the gun. She said she had to do it that way. I told her I was not going in,I only needed the schedule. When I repeated I didnt want my temperature taken that way so no thank you, she shrugged her shoulders,oh well!! But she refused to give me the schedule. I understand shes probably only doing her job, but you need to formed them that there is another way to take your members tempetature, for members with possible health issues with reasons for not wanting that temperature gun used. Please get more informed, otherwise I will be unable to use your gym!!Thank you

I love this gym..right now..with the coronavirus taking place..before you check in they check your temperature and ask you to sanitize. Everyone cleans after using the equipment. Which is great for a peace of mind. Before the pandemic..they had group classes and a daycare for the little ones. The staff are great, real easy to talk to. Hours do very, so call and check with them. But over all have a great workout.

Went in to for a workout for the 1st time and told the person at the front desk that it was my 1st time in the facility that I didnt know my way around the gym or which machines were available. He never offered a quick walk through and just said oh, any machine you choose works and all are clean by the members and we have someone here that also cleans them. I was kinda lost...I didnt even know the direction of the bathroom:/ and had to wait till I got home rather than walk around looking clueless for it. Not a great 1st experience but what can I do now Ive got a year contract.

I like going to this gym location. Receiving staff is very friendly and the location is always clean. It’s a peaceful environment that let’s you enjoy your workout.

Unless they can mine your personal information they dont want to talk to you. I was with the previous gym, loved it. I wanted to pay cash up front for a year and the woman wouldnt even talk to me until I gave over all of my personal information. HINT - I dont want you selling and sharing my information.

I will never do business with Trufit ever again. I went in person and cancelled my gym membership with trufit because of their false advertised claim of following safety guidelines (covid-19). They location I used was in edinburg tx on the corner of trenton and jackson. They claim to have personnel cleaning stations, they had one young lady but the majority of the time she was sitting on an excecise bike talking with other co-workers. She pretended to clean an used station and came back to her conversation. The gym did not enforce social Distancing guidelines as advertised. They allowed people to go work out without wearing masks. When they re-opened the gyms I visited the gym on 2 seperate days and on both days I witnessed the same carelessness towards public safety. Now they are trying to bill me for services not rendered. I was contacted by an employee named mari Rodriguez who ignored my concerns, when I asked to speak to her supervisor she stated she did not have one. I called the gym location and spoke to a manager named luis who didnt seem to care about any of my concerns and didnt even ask for any details regarding my safety complaint.

Went to to simply switch my husbands membership to my nieces since it hasn’t been used in over 6 months due to him not being in Texas. Nancy said my husband had to be present in order to get it done although he is in a different state! My husband asked if he could either e-mail or call them giving authorization. She REFUSED! Asked to talk to a manager, and she didnt call one. When it came to me asking to cancel THEN it was alright for my husband to email and send authorization. She never let me know that if cancelled we would get charges fees, as well as me nit being able to register until 30 days. Whole situation was uncalled for!! Went to the original gym we signed up on 23rd and the GM there was very helpful. He understood the situation and went ahead and did the switch for us! Very unhappy with the customer service in this location!

Stair climbers and equipment needs to get updated in womens section and working. Would appreciate cycling bikes in womens section as well.

I cancelled my account with Cat on April 27. The billing dept is rude as hell. The lady I spoke with today Kayla was even humming while I was talking to her. She stated the cancellation form that was signed by manager Cat and myself was basically worthless. How does the account stay active? I have been trying to cancel since March and was told cancellation form was needed to proceed with cancelling. Worst service ever. They just want to squeeze every penny they can from you when you want your account canceled. And that’s because I was on the month to month, I could just imagine what the people on a contract have to deal with. Take this as a warning. NEVER do business with TruFit.

Spacious Gym

A clean gym with fairly new and shiny equipment is why I love going here. But ever since Tru Fit bought out Freedom Fitness, this gym isnt maintained as well as before. They used to clean it spot on all the time now everything looks like it hasnt been dusted for a while. Tru Fit management doesnt hold their gyms to high standards as Freedom Fitness did. :(

This is the worst place ever to get a membership. All proof provided will never allow you cancel. Glad to know now that even through all the efforts and all the proof provided they still dont care about the member as an individual.

You get what you pay for. Terrible Service. If I had to do it all over again, I would have gone with a more reputable gym. The girls at front desk are very rude. I cancelled my service and was told wrong information. I had to dispute it with my credit card company. Front desk girls might as well work at the dmv.

Awesome gym that is very spacious with showers and pretty much every piece of workout equipment you could think of. It is however $15 to enter if you are not a member. just be sure to make it worth your money if you do go.

Been a customer since Freedom Fitness. Was working up north and I got my debit card compromised at a merchant, which was not my fault. My bank was sending me a new card. Jacob from Trufit called me at the end of May to ask about the payment. Told him the situation and he understood. I told him since I’m not in the valley and since I’m no longer in a contract, to cancel the subscription. He said he couldn’t cancel it until the balance (20 something dollars) was paid. He said that when I got the card to call him and that he’ll cancel it right away. He knew I was going to get charged again in the beginning of June and did not tell me anything about that. So, i get the card about a week later and i call to make the payment. He then proceeds to tell me I owe 50 something dollars for the month of June, may, and late fees. I asked him why he didn’t tell me i was going to get charged again in the beginning of June when i spoke to him. He said he’s sorry and that he doesn’t see where he spoke to me on the account and that the 2 months and late fees had to be paid to close the account, no exceptions. After a 10 minute hold he tells me he can waive the late fee but I’m still going to be responsible to pay the month of July since they need a 30 day notice. I was stunned. I couldn’t believe them. I argued that I’ve been telling him since May to cancel the account and he kept apologizing until he told me he won’t charge me for July (so they don’t need a 30 day notice) but i would have to pay the late fees after all. I gave up and I agreed. I feel like I’m still going to get charged for July anyways because he didn’t sound reassuring. After so many years with them I’d never thought they would do something like this to me. They just want to squeeze every penny they can from you when you want your account canceled. And that’s because I was on the month to month, I could just imagine what the people on a contract have to deal with. Take this as a warning. NEVER do business with TruFit.

Great gym to workout at. Usually very clean. Problem is I had to stop bench pressing with a straight bar because of a shoulder injury and I only lift dumbbells now. This really helps, problem is that they only go up to 110 on dumbbells and seemed to have outgrown them. Really hope they order heavier dumbbells.

I do like the gym. It has a good selection of machines. Its nice that it has a separate section for the women. The womens section is fairly small. Be sure to bring your own water b/c the water fountains only give you HOT or WARM water. Thats irritating. They really should get that fixed. We do pay a maintenance fee so that things like that can be fixed. Cancellation policy is a lose/lose situation. Either i pay to cancel which is $60 or i cancel before it renews but guess what you still pay for the next month. And theres no way around it👎😡

By far the cleanest TruFit location! I’ve been to 5 different locations and this location easily tops as the cleanest. Props to all the hardworking men and women that keep it shiny and smelling better than the rest. 💪

Legit hate coming here bc the water fountains are warm AF and the water pressure sucks! Like it might not seem like much, but I would think you would like for the people to be training at your gyms to be properly hydrated.

FREEDOM FITNESS is just a great place to get some real work done. Its truly an AMAZING place. The staff is great trainers are AMAZING you can buy your own nutrition drinks there they have raffles & so much kindness & motivation sure ill be telling ppl about FREEDOM FITNESS.

Not much has changed since Tru Fit bought out Freedom Fitness. Nice clean facility with a daycare that is convenient when the wife and kids wanna join. Prices are great and a decent amount of free weights. Lots of cardio and exercise machines. Seems like they keep up with most of the machines since i have yet to see a machine unavailable for more than 2 days. AM hours are the best times to workout since there is minimal traffic. Anytime after 5PM it gets pretty packed just like any other gym.

Just wanted to point out that its nice to hear a good morning or thank you, have a nice day. I used to go to FF on McColl and they always greeted me. When I started coming to this one, nothing. About 2 months ago, I changed my workout time to 5:30-7am and noticed that the guys behind the counter always have a great attitude and greet all customers. When I go after 8am, its always the same girls and no greeting. Good customer service goes a along way... Just need consistency.

Facility is great, ample of machines and the setup is good. This gym is one of the better looking ones in the rgv area, I would give it a higher rating but the water issue is just terrible to deal with. Water fountains only spring out warm water, you would think with how good this facility is set up that they could at least make water freely available. Warm water ? How much does it take to fix that? They want us to spend money on bottled water they sell instead. I think a proper functional water fountain should come with a gym membership but maybe thats just me 🤔

Very rude at front desk, do not say goodbye or friendly for any questions. There is a hair less guy in the front who is rude. Never coming back.

Theyll lure you in, and charge you every month for over a year, even after you cancel. They will lie to you about when you will be able to cancel, and there are no refunds after they take your money even if you dont go to the gym. Corporate does nothing to help you and ignore your complaints. Do not join this illusive gym.

That location in particular sucks at customer service.i went to try out a class as a guest and they were so rude and ugly for not taking an i.d. its like okay maybe next time Ill know, but let this time slide because i was unaware, or simply dont accept me and tell me its just policy but why all the disgusting attitude. If you lower the fire alarms in the shower and the suntan room to where they can be reached, they may not be confused with standard secret, hidden recording cameras. You are a classic example of excellent business acumen, and my experience with ffc has been the most rewarding endeavor of the year. Good luck in the future.

I like this gym because they have a womens center and it makes it easy to work out comfortably. Their staff is very professional compared to Weslaco staff. They make you feel very welcomed, great environment

I like this location it is maintained clean and it has friendly staff. I like the Instructors for the group classes. They are probably the reason I will continue with my membership, I go to Zumba classes late at night they are my favorite.The only reason I dont give it a 5 star is because the yoga room is tiny. The Yoga instructors create such a good relaxing environment and are very welcoming. But the times I have been there it is crowded and people walk in and out for equipment. I wish there was more space to actually feel comfortable stretching with less interruptions. I would also suggest for the owner to fix the cycling stations that are broken because sometimes I have not been able to join the class at the time I arrive because there isnt enough bikes since there are some out of order. Over all it is a good location.

These guys have been stealing money from me through auto pay even though I went in person LAST YEAR TO CANCEL and signed a document and everything. Your employees there are so incompetent that they would let something go like that. YOU BETTER BELIEVE IM GETTING EVERY PENNIE BACK OR LEGAL ACTION WILL BE TAKEN.

I cant believe customer service is gone this days. Everyone should always be focus in customer service if not the business will go down. Please train your people at front desk to be more customer oriented.

Decent gym. Can get over crowded at times but then again most gyms are during peak hours. I would give you all one, if not 2 more stars but there are no squat racks in this gym or any other Freedom Fitness. For that reason and the fact that your heaviest dumbbells only go up to 75lbs, this gym will always be branded as a starter gym. Great for when you are just starting out but serious lifters and those whove been pumping iron for a while know that NO gym is complete without a SQUAT RACK and dumbbells should at least go up to 120lbs. If you guys would only change this, Im sure you would get more memberships and more serious lifters.

Half the machines dont work. The tvs on the exercise machine dont have sound and dont even come on on some. The massage chairs dont even work most of the time

Was a great place with many equipment

Lots of equipment for any type of training. Very roomy and up stairs is dedicated to cardio and core workouts. Lots of dumbbells and plenty of cable machines.

We enjoy the gym.... need mats upstairs to stretch and do crunches.. too thin when available or just missing as of late.

Everybody’s experience could be different and this one is mine. I like this Gym because it is semi big. The only thing is that a lot of the equipment is outdated and old. When the equipment is out of service, it takes them a while to fix the machines. The second floor is cardio and the half of the first floor is cardio and weight machines. The good thing is that it is on a good location and close to work

The water in the fountain is hot af and taste like sand... it made my stomach sick. I’m gonna stick to the one in Mcallen.

I love this gym, I just wish they had machines for abs in woman section. Its all they are missing. But I love it overall

Been a member here since it was freedom fitness! Its a good gym the only improvement would be to update thier facility somewhat! Their weight machines are outdated and always breaking down! I love their zumba classes and HIIT classes! They need new massage chairs the only massage available is the hydro massage table and.their is only one available for members!

Gym is well kept up, clean and bathrooms are as clean as in your home my compliments to ganitorial staff here!! Unfortunately there is a female staff member that seems to know everything about every member and even staff and shares it amongs everyone, I have seen her be picky with some members and slides same issues with others. Sad that one staff member can get away with this and nothing has changed, thats why I have not returned and wont be returning to this gym.

More than great amount of equipment. They have a steam room, showers, a personal workout place just for ladies... Etc

HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE! I wasn’t on a contract and it was still an issue terminating my membership when I moved to Houston where there are NO TRUFITs! There is no customer service phone number where you can call to terminate memberships. I had to do everything through email and nothing went through. I have been living in Houston for over 4 months and although I tried cancelling before I moved they’re still charging me and said they were sending me to collections. The district manager did nothing, billing for did nothing and neither did the person above the DM. If you read the rest of the comments you will see this has been a reoccurring issue.

I just wanted an easy gym for cycling. They make it very difficult. Instead of being first come first serve they make you sign up... if you dont sign up you cant join the glass. You have to wait until the class starts to see if there are empty seats. And if they come in five minutes late they expect their bike to be held. Not the gym for me.

This is a large freedom fitness, its fairly new. They have a great womens area, a supplement store inside and plenty of cardio equipment. It does get rather packed around 6pm.

I usually go to the one on mccoys and 2mile and enjoy it, went to the one on Trenton but no matter they have more machines I didnt like it, did not found the ones I use on the other tru fit

Great gym. Very clean and great selection of machines and free weights. Maybe just add more free weight squat racks because everytime i go, there are women using the bench press and incline press to do squats. Or just add extra bar bells so people dont use the ones intended for the bench press.

I love this gym its very clean and modern. Staff is great. Especially Diamond lover style of motivation.

A decent gym but remember to cancel your debit/credit card if you decide to leave or end PT because theyll keep charging you even after you close services with them. I had to go to my bank and file a dispute and they told me its a common occurrence with them. The banker even laughed when I asked if I needed to provide proof and said no because so many people walk in to complain about the exact same thing. unreal.

Its a good gym but they need new squat racks not a body builder type of gym.

At this gymnasium, I am always greeted warmly and with enthusiasm; furthermore, they adhere well to safety precautions for our local community, and when confronted with an inquiry, they respond quickly and knowledgeably.

The worst customer service I have ever had. Just wanted to have more information about the gym and the enrollment plans. She didn’t show me at all the gym and explain the plans or classes they have. she was just rushing me to get it with no information to grab an other enrollment. I had such a bad experience with Mrs Kat then after I wanted to complain I got notified she was the general manager. So definitely discarded that gym righ away. I hope she get some customers service training soon or this situation will keep happening and it makes you fill your only money for them to get there comisiones.

Gym has lots of machine and equipment but I really only go for the classes so when I go and they dont bother to post that a class is canceled or when the people in the front dont even know whats going on is Frustrating! I had double checked the schedule if something changed, I was not the only one lost and walking into a wrong class. Another girl was like is this zumba? I go to the front and they are just yes it should be starting any minute yoga needed to use the room today but its almost done. No i just wasted my time waiting for a zumba class that never happened and a yoga class that took an hour!!! Thursday was a complete waste of time rushing for a class that for no reason never happened. If you are going to cancel or change classes post a sign!!!!!!!!!!!! Then I could of walked away on not wasted anymore time!!!!!!! Nonsense to not know what is going on in the gym and give wrong info.

I have memberships on Crunch and Freedom, both have great staff but freedom wins this one due to their more flexible schedule.

The manager Kat is so RUDE! I see so many comments about her customer service but she’s still an employee? Someone needs to do something about her because it’s ridiculous. If that’s the kind of person running the gym then I don’t want to go! Very disappointed tru fit!

I admit that the people who work there are very friendly, but unfortunately some of them are not well trained when it comes to explain cancellation and contract information. I went in August to cancel my membership and one gentleman told me that in order for me to cancel I had to pay $50, but that my contract ended in November and after that I could cancel without paying the fee. I decide to keep paying $20 monthly in case I decide to go sometimes and then just cancel in October without paying $50. I go on October 26 to cancel and another gentleman tells me that since the contract is over I didn’t have to pay anything. I sign a cancelation form, he says he will turn it in and that it was it. He says that I have until November 7 to go and that I wouldn’t be charged for November. Around November 28 a lady calls me that I have to pay a $50 cancelation fee because the contract ends around June 2018. I check my account and I see that I was charged for November. I find it really unfair because they keep calling me that the monthly payments will accumulate and that I have to pay.

Extremely unprofessional and Im referring to the managerial position whom I had requested a call from and did not receive one.According to this person who identified herself as a manager, to be fair to TruFit members, people who originally signed up with Freedom Fitness have to pay an upgrade charge. I dont truly find the logic in this fair statement of hers.Customers who signed up with Freedom Fitness received services from that gym. Still cannot wrap my head around a madeup upgrade charge. Its not the $20, its the poor experience, and lack of professionalism that is upsetting. Currently, on TruFits website enrollment is $1. By this managers logic, how is this fair to longstanding TruFit customers?For those who were unaware, Freedom Fitness was brought by TruFit and so the consumer became the stepchild of TruFit.
